Ordered for ASAP was given 17.40 delivery time, after 2 calls we keep getting told its out to us but not arrived now and almost an hour later

I spent nearly £30 on a takeaway tonight and they couldn’t even give me all my items. Part of the order was a pizza meal deal which as you know comes with chips and a can. I received only the pizza. When I called I was told that they would send the chips and can. Someone then phoned me twice to confirm what was missing and confirm my address. Nearly 2 hours later I still haven’t received these items. Pizza is stone cold and now in the bin. Won’t be back.

Fish tasted off, batter was soggy and damp as if it had been lying and not fresh. Not to mention the ridiculous price. Will not be back. Used to have a good reputation. Really disappointed

A great chippy in dumbarton. We thoroughly enjoyed our fish supper and sausage supper, and it's very reasonably priced.

This has got to be the worst fish and chips I have ever tasted . The chips were stale like the potatoes were past sell by date . And the fish was disgusting and almost transparent with no taste .everything went in the bin

Passing through for a quick lunch bite…. Asked for Haddock and chips with curry sauce. £12! Chips were fresh and nice, tasted like they were cooked in beef dripping:-) Haddock was a small fish and smelt off when started to eat. Definitely not fresh as had started to turn ammonia smelling :-( Curry sauce was served luke warm (he added water from kettle to last nights mix to loosen up in Bain Marie in front of me) Can’t recommend……

I had the haggis supper and white pudding. Someone mentioned earlier about the food not having salt and mine tasted the same even though I did ask for lots. The chips and haggis were good and the white pudding very good. Apart from the recommendation of bringing your own salt and vinegar should you require more the food was pleasantly good and the staff courteous and efficient.

I am sure i may have had worse Fish and Chips, but can’t remember it. Chips were undercooked and the batter on the fish?? Was soggy. Avoid at all costs.

I only got a bag of chips. They had just opened and I think I was there first customer of the day. I had to wait as the chips were freshly cooked. I didn't mind they were delicious, 😋 The staff member who served me was really nice even though he was busy. I'm not in Helensburgh that often. However, I would definitely return again, for sure.

Not impressed with wait for food. Chips tasted as if they had been made ages ago. Asked for salt and vinegar but could not taste any. Sorry but would not recommend. Will not be back.

The food has gone down hill. Stale, undersized pizza. Half cooked sausage supper with hardly any batter on it. Iv always ordered our chippy tea from the sun but recently the quality is questionable.

Went on a sunny Friday around dinner time Busy but served promptly. Food was cooked fresh and served within 10 minutes

Pure rip off. I know Helensburgh is by the sea but how do you get away with charging £8 for a supper when you're located where the Sun is. Even at that, total rip off. Had to go and take cash out as they have the smallest sign saying card over £10. Utter rubbish. We'll be using another chippy when back in the area.

Chips (Cold) & Cheese & Can £5.30p …. Total RIP OFF , Food Hygiene inspector needs to pay a visit as doesn’t look a clean establishment! WILL NOT BE BACK !!!!! AVOID !!!!

Got fish and chips and they were aweful, batter was slimly and greasy, chips were very soft and terrible, place has gone downhill

I bought a bag of chips each for myself and granddaughter, they were lovely and fresh and tasted exactly how chips should taste scrumptious

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. disgusting service. waited 2 hours for a delivery after being told it would be 45 mins. Lied to me several times telling me the food had left when it hadn't. Not one apology or offer of money back. DISGRACE.

Not very impressed with the fish & chips and the food already cooked in display looked like it had been there for hours.both staff members no mask on even though they told me to put my mask on.l will not be going back and would not recommend to my friends and family. And all the locals. I would not even give it one star but it says I hated it so that's good enough for me

Ordered online to save time and opted to collect. On arrival I let them know I was there at allocated time and paid for my order. I was told it will be a few more minutes which was fine as there was a lot of people waiting for their orders. I found it difficult to approach the shop due to the amount of people waiting for food or to make an order. However, after waiting 40 minutes I approached the shop to inform them that I was still waiting for my order only to be told “you need to tell me you are here for your food”. Not happy with service, didn’t mind the wait as it was busy but a simple apology for their mistake would not have gone amiss. Food was definitely not worth the wait, won’t be going back.

Great chicken breast and fab chips

Had the family meal (for the family!) and it certainly can serve 4 people well. You get a large pizza, 2 chips, garlic bread, onion rings and large drink. Great value.

Fish supper at Sun fish shop is first class enjoy your supper there.

Service is extremely fast when not busy but when it’s busy it can take so long. They’re chips are the best chippy chips I’ve had and I could crave on them forever. Their pizza isn’t so good and tastes a bit off but that’s okay I’ll just order something else. Overall a good chippy and better than most of the ones we have ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have been going to the Sun for over10yrs,always for the pizzas,have tried others but always come back,excellent service,we allways get chips to,they weren't great tonight !!but I would I would definately recommend 😊
