Sumo Pan Asian in East Riding of Yorkshire

Very disappointed. It was a birthday celebration. The waiter was excellent but the food was not sent for us all. Would not be back again

First visit tonight and was a little surprised by how small it is but it was busy with a kind of bar set up as well as around 10 tables that are quite close together. Not much choice of white wine but I chose a glass of Spanish white wine at a reasonable price and there was only lager on offer in terms of beers. There’s a cocktail menu as well as four gins on offer, which were quite pricey. The food menu was good and we had two starters; deep fried breaded prawns and goyozas and for mains we had red chicken Thai curry and king prawn pad Thai, the food was delicious, really tasty and ample amounts of both for us. We both felt it was good value for money, the service was good, wait staff were friendly. I’m pretty sure we will return.

There was not much atmosphere. The music was a bit niche. The tables are quite close together, so no good if you area looking for some privacy. The service was perfunctory. without any social niceties. Some of the dishes were deep fried, but seemed extra greasy. We wouldn't rush back.

This is my absolute favourite place in the area to eat. Can not recommend it enough!

Great food, lovely atmosphere, fantastic choice, with both veggies and gluten catered for. Very young waiter who was very huffy if helpful.

Last time we had a takeaway from here, they missed something from the order. We decided to let it go on that occasion, but we ordered another meal two days ago and again there was some food missing. This time I phoned them up and they were very apologetic, and asked me to come back to pick up the missing item. I agreed to do this (there was no offer of a refund), though we live on the other side of Beverley, which meant the rest of the food was cold when I retuned home. More disappointingly, they didn’t offer any free extras or anything at all as recompense for the inconvenience of having to drive over there twice. The food may be very good, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Ordered from the vegan menu. The cheesecake they sent (labelled vegan online) had a Cadbury's dairy flake, cream etc. Will not be eating here again. They did not respond when we emailed about this. DANGEROUS AND ILLEGAL.

Got a takeaway on a Sunday afternoon and I am not kidding you it was the best Chinease/asian I’ve ever had. Flavours were amazing, everything cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to eat that food again.

Received a prompt delivery from this restaurant, a phone call to check location and a prompt and friendly driver. The food was absolutely fabulous.

I can't complain with our masterful choice of venue today for a spot of lunch! At this time of year everywhere is Christmas lunch, turkey sandwiches, turkey and more turkey! 🦃 🙁 Sumo Pan Asian just had to be different? Yes! 👍 Lunch time menu! £10 for your main course. We chose Thai Red chicken curry and Singapore fried rice and chicken. Outside of the lunch time menu the meals do cost slightly more and rice is also extra. Very quick and friendly service and our dishes were absolutely loaded with succulent chicken and were so tasty! Seriously good! Green tea and an Americano were £3.20 each. Yes we have been before, but not for a few years? Our mistake. We had actually forgotten how good it was. Will definitely return without leaving it so long next time! Ps. They were doing Christmas turkey and cranberry bao buns! 😂

This is our local. It’s really great food, whether eating in or taking away. The team our always helpful and very friendly, they know us well enough to highlight any specials they remember we like. The prices are excellent for the quality of the food.

Came to Beverley for a night out and visited Sumo Asian for a meal. Its was superb. Service was great food was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the bar to eat . Clearly a popular place as always had customers . Really nice atmosphere. Recommend this little eatery for both meat and non meat eaters as there a good selection to choose from

We came to Beverley for a night out and it began here. The service was great,food excellent, atmosphere welcoming and friendly. Good selection of dishes for meat and non meat eaters alike. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend 👌

All the staff were so lovely and accommodating the atmosphere was great even on a quieter night. We ordered the sharing starter (the chicken kaarage was amazing) Thai chicken wings sweet and sour chicken and the chicken ramen. Ultimately couldn’t finish it between the 2 of us but really great value for money considering the quality. Can’t wait to try out the cocktails another night.

The food here was incredible, it was chicken fried rice I’ve ever had and the crispy duck bao bun was amazing! Great portion sizes, the waiting staff were lovely! Would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to return already

Visited this evening for my sons birthday, his choice. Family of three. Starters of satay chicken (beautiful), chicken bao bun (like clouds of deliciousness) and sweet potato bao bun (not quite what i expected but tasty. Mains of Singapore noodles (mother in law cleaned the plate) beef ramen and veggie gyōza ramen (tasty but not spice which I had it elsewhere). Still fresh and scrumptious. Didn't rate the blue lagoon cocktail (really just tasted like lemonade). However, service fantastic. Clean and great atmosphere. The absolute cherry on the cake, was actually a cake! I'd mentioned (as you do that it was my sons birthday when booking) and at the end of thr meal the the waitress brought out a freshly made sponge cake, cream and decorations of fruit. Couldn't believe it. And it was delicious. What a kind and generous thing to do. My sons view; i really like this place, they gave me free cake for my birthday. Ps really good food, would come again :)

Outstanding! You lucky people, living so near this wonderful food made with heart and soul. I love this place. I know what I like and fine dine more often than I’d like to admit The Fat Duck was my latest business treat. I love great food and this place knocked my hungry socks off! I asked the kitchen , via the friendly welcoming and informative service to feed me their best choice of food within £30. No nuts and no cucumber! Sure enough, four amazing plates arrived within minutes! All fresh ingredients, textures of crunchy light batter chicken dipped in the fragrant coconut cream, egg fried noodle ( award winning ), pallet cleaning chilli squid… all perfect. It was such exciting food, I loved the experience and left feeling ROBBED by my local offering in the Cotswolds … I might sell my house and move JUST so I can set my challenge again. I paid £60 voluntarily because IT WAS WORTH IT! There is love and care in this food, you lucky lucky locals!

Absolutely wonderful! The staff are so friendly and attentive whilst the food is delicious. Despite being a small restaurant, the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable- although i can see how it is not everyone’s cup of tea. Definitely worth the price and the portions are huge!

Everything here was great, service food. Being able to see the food being prepared was a nice feature along with how quick you get your food aswell. A little pricy but definitely worth it. Would definitely eat here again

Visited Pan Sumo with friends, the service is excellent always friendly & efficient staff happy to explain the various dishes or assist with choices. We had the mixed starter to share which was fabulous then I had the Japanese Teriyaki Beef absolutely amazing. Tucked away little venue but well worth a visit & they do takeaway too 💕

We went to this restaurant for my wife's birthday as per recommendation. The staff were helpful and the food was fabulous. It's expensive though with a bottle of beer at £4.95 and a large glass of wine at £7.10. There was also a 10% service charge added to the final bill. Although expensive well worth a visit.

The food is average price i would say for Beverley. For what you get the freshness of the food and the portion sizes i would say its good value and if you like fresh authentic Asian dishes then its a win win. Very nice food.

We met up with friends here as it was recommended and we weren’t let down. The salt and pepper ribs were a highlight as were the Thai red curry and satay chicken. The beef pad tai felt unusually sweet but upon reading up on it, that’s how it often comes in Thai restaurants. The food is good value for the quality, the bottled beer a bit pricey, but overall it’s good value for money and friendly unobtrusive service. The kitchen is open to the dining area which is always good.

My wife and I popped during the week after reading so reviews, I must admit the food was superb, but the waitress was shocking. When we arrived, we was met by the said waitress and first point to a table and said you are over there. We sat ourselves down and took in the internal decor, which has a street food theme and is very pleasing on the eye. The waitress returned to take our order, we had to repeat and correct her THREE times before she wrote it down correctly, which made us anxious till the food turned up. We ordered a bottle of white wine, this turned up in a chiller, with the a screw lid on, the waitress never loosened the lid, showed us the bottle or poured to taste, just plonked it on the table. We finished and asked to pay the bill, she returned and was abrupt as if we was a hinderance to her. Would I recommend the food - YES Would I recommend the seating and decor - YES Would I return - depends on the staff

Great food, not the cheapest, but the quality was really good. Udon Noodle Soup, Chicken Katsu Curry & some Spring Rolls. All really tasty, fresh & well presented. My eldest daughter particularly enjoyed it. I suspect we'll be back before long... best to book though as it's got very limited seating. Small, but perfectly formed!

Cool little place and very nice food, good service too, I would have to recommend the Korean chicken thigh starter with a side of rice. And more stuff of course! A year later and I'm lucky enough to be in the area again, still just as good, still recommend the Korean thigh starter, this time with ramen to eat together. So good!

Not a proper restaurant, like many people, it seems, I accidentally booked this place instead of Soju sumo in the centre of Beverley. Why they take bookings for what is essentially a take away is a moot question. I booked weeks ahead and confirmed the booking before hand. Even so, they did not have a table available and when we were seated there was barely room for 3 of us ( the booking was for 4 but one friend was ill) . They have a perfectly good restaurant where diners can go and enjoy an evening out. They are basically ruining their customers' evening just to squeeze in a few more covers and make a few extra quid. The food wasn't very good either.

As Sujo had been recommended we were looking forward to our visit last night with friends who had travelled from Taunton. On arrival we were promptly seated & given menus in a very nicely decorated venue. However after 15 mins we had to ask for drinks & the order was wrong when it arrived. Unfortunately we never sampled the menu as we left after 1 hour. In that time we hadn't received any of the food we had ordered & 3 other tables who had arrived after us had ordered & were already eating. The food looked delicious but as you can imagine we were bitterly dissapointed with the service. Although the staff were all very polite & friendly we all felt that they are rather inexperienced & would benefit from further training. Hopefully we will have a better dining experience if we book in the future.

We ordered takeaway for collection. Unfortunately the vegetarian gyoza in the vegetarian udon soup turned out to have pork in them, which I of course only realised once I sat down to eat. As a long term veggie obviously this wasn’t very pleasant. I rang straight away and they promptly refunded me and apologised, which I really appreciated, but a bit more care should be taken, especially when it comes to dietary issues. Fortunately I’d also ordered an aubergine bao which I should say was really tasty and my husbands food looked good too.
