Delicious take away, first time here and will 100% be back, we had Maki Box and Osaka Box. Never had takeaway sushi before but would recommend this place.

This is the best sushi in Belfast. A fantastic restaurant turning out amazing food time after time. It is a 20 mile round trip for me to get my food but so worth it.

I adore sushis and have had some in many cities, from Tokyo to Sao Paolo. Sumo Cat sushis are high standard (try the scallops!) and certainly the best in Belfast.

Got takeaway from here last week. Deep fried vegetables were disappointing, will definitely not order that again. Sushi was pretty good. Will drop by again!

I was near the Lisburn road today and I’ve never tried sushi in Northern Ireland before. I’ve always had it when travelling. I have to say this place is amazing. I picked up 4 different rolls and everyone I would recommend. I’ll def be back again. Top food from two talented chefs.

Just ordered from Sumo Cat last night for the first time, wow! Absolutely the freshest sushi I have ever had. Beautiful, highly recommended that you visit here if you are a sushi lover. Lots of other yummy Japanese food on the menu as well such as gyoza and donburi. Well worth a visit.

Best decision ever ordering from sumo cat tonight. The most authentic, fresh food. We had been missing the Japanese restaurants we visited when living in London and this is just as good if not better! Will definitely be ordering again. Gorgeous food:)

Just had take away from this wonderful restaurant. Authentic, tasty food. Premises clean chefs professional and friendly. We ordered bento box which was gorgeous and plentiful. Sampled a starter and side dish also. Everything was fresh and cooked by very skilled chefs. Having read the previous reviews before trying this place i am delighted to confirm they are absolutely correct! Menu is extensive so something for everyone. Highly recommended and this is now our new go to place for proper Japanese food.

Great to have a new place serving high quality and fresh sushi in Belfast. A little on the pricey side but quite reasonable compared to competitors such as Zen or Sakura. Very welcoming and lovely staff. Definitely recommend!

We wanted take away sushi and didn’t want to drive to the place we usually go. Googled and found this place. Honestly I’m blown away with the quality, portions and the price. It is the best overall I’ve had in Northern Ireland and up there with the best I’ve had anywhere. Made freshly in front of you and the chef was so friendly. Highly highly recommended

We took a punt on this place as a takeaway and I knew from the stepping through the door that this was no ordinary place. Beautiful Japanese clean and friendly styling (good Kanso!). Menu is excellent, with an amazing choice of sushi, bento, tempura, teriyaki, curry, osaka, kimchi, shabu shabu ... with some real special sushi (eel, scallop and cuttlefish!). Something for everyone, even those who may not be familiar with Japanese cuisine. The father in law was enthusiastically walked through the menu by the delightful server. Taste - beautifully crafted great flavors at a decent price. Complements to the obviously talented itamae shefu (sushi chefs). Open kitchen view is a great way to show off their skills. Service - excellent and friendly, taking time to explain menu and choices. Very professional polite and informative. Overall, this is a superb and welcomed addition to the diverse belfast food scene. A true high standard of food and service, which I expect to be returning to regularly! ありがとうございました 幸運を Arigatōgozaimashita and Kōun o! Thank you very much and good luck!

There’s a few dedicated Japanese places dotted around Belfast, but since the Ginger tree was closed none are authentic. This place is serving authentic, subtle and delicious Japanese food. I’m unsure of the chefs are themselves Japanese, but as someone who grew up eating real...

As much as it pains me to say this, (as I love Sakura), but this my new favourite sushi restaurant in Belfast. While it is expensive it’s very authentic, as good as I’ve had in Japan. The nigiri sushi has a great rice to fish...

Ordered food was rather excited for it, missing item rang to say about it and the lady on the phone was down right rude shouting that she put the missing item in the bag. The food itself was inedible tempura chicken battered falling off the chicken, yakisoba covered in what seemed like Siracha sauce. Yes I did receive the missing item in the end however the coating on the chicken again was none existent, £50 wasted on food that had to be binned and re ordered from somewhere else. Based I’d just eat it seems that the restaurant can’t take criticism and comes back with a cheeky comment.

Had carry out lunch before which was excellent, bento box was so good had to go and sit in, was not disappointed, had bento box again , it's great the way you don't feel bloated after lunch. All fresh Ingredients no MSG is what I put it down to . Not licensed, BYO with corkage , keep the cost down for such excellent food.😋

I used to like this place but it got worse. The waiter was ignoring us for a long time. Chicken in my ramen was dry and overcooked. Curry katsu was lacking taste. The waiter overcharged our bill and we had to point it out. Overall a mediocre experience

Clay pot is a must get - it is authentic. The aroma and textures are perfect. The owner is super friendly and chill, she has offered best services I have gotten from any restaurant in Ireland / north Ireland. If you contemplate between lees garden across the street and this restaurant, definitely come here as the other restaurant is at least three stars below this one.
