Kamakura Sushi & Ramen Restaurant in Belfast

Really love the sushi, food, staff and atmosphere of Kamakura, been going for ages and as a vegan there is alot of opinions I can have, staff are helpful and friendly. Cosy atmosphere in this cute little restaurant.

Upon arrival we did not pass judgement on the condition, size or decor of the place. Based on the reviews we were prepared to give it a chance. The furniture is quite uncomfortable as they are little stools with no back support. We ordered maki, hosmaki, edamame and maki udon noodles. The portions were plentiful and we were offered a take away for the remainder. The maki was quite thick with rice which made it difficult to eat. Nothing bad, nothing outstanding, just fairly basic for the expense and effort to travel there.

We travelled 2 hours to dine here after friends recommended the restaurant. From the moment you walk in through the quirky sliding door you are greeted with warmth and friendliness . The restaurant décor is warm and inviting and creates a lovely atmosphere and is exceptionally clean. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable regarding the food and could recommend dishes to us. Food came quickly and was freshly prepared using quality ingredients. The taste of the food was exceptional the best Japanese food we have had since living in Northern Ireland. I can highly recommend the Ramen and the noddle dishes were delicious. The sushi is divine and so fresh there was nothing we could fault it was perfect. The menu is varied and there are options for everyone very good choices available. Booking is a must as the restaurant is very popular and busy. We had a fantastic evening thank you to all the staff.

We had a family meal for 8 here on Saturday night. Great atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and very patient with us as two of our party were late. Amazing Japenese food, we had a different dish each and everyone agreed it was yummy. Can't wait to eat here again!

Nice meal. service not so great . Asked to wave a hidden 10 percent charge and was refused . Waiter became argumentative and insisted it be paid regardles of service, almost to the point of being aggressive. To save an argument I paid but will never be back . This compulsory charge is very sneaky and unwarranted. On hindsight I should have refused because what they insisted upon is technically illegal.

Just came off the street and found this little gem for a quick drink and snack. Had sushi and a cocktail, service was polite and friendly. Cocktail was delicious, the sushi came out beautifully presented and tasted so fresh. Literally can not wait to come back here. The Decor also is fresh. The whole place is a vibe.

Really good food and nice environment. It was reassuringly busy for a Monday night. The service was good but a bit slow as it got busier. Good sized portions and a really good place for dinner overall.

Welcomed immediately and shown to table. Offered drinks very efficiently and left a respectful time to view the menu. Very helpful with choosing and good service throughout. So it's Bank holiday Monday, we where on a short city break and decided on the restaurant due to the glowing reviews we found on trip advisor. We where a party of five, 2 adults 3 children. We ordered 1 kids meal, 1 kimchi beef ramen, spicy salmon rolls, California rolls, eel and advocado rolls, 5 piece salmon sashimi and the Kiyomi selection. Everything comes promptly other than the sashimi and kiyomi selection. After 30mins of waiting still no sign of the sashimi or Kiyomi yet atleast 3 delivery orders goes out the door and a table of 2 gets their mains. We remind the wait staff that we are still waiting on our food and we keep waiting while we watch another delivery order go out the door. In the end we just asked for the bill and cancelled the food which wasn't prepared yet. To be fair the wait staff where truly apologetic and being in the FB industry myself I suspect it was the kitchen staff that messed up. Of the food that did arrive the sushi was average the California roll and eel and advocado where both ISO, which I am not a fan of, and there was no mention of such on the menu. The kimchi beef was very good the broth was very flavoursome and not reliant on MSG for its unami. Also the food and drinks we paid for was less than the deposit we paid due to two memebers of the party dropping out at the last minute so I had to pay for the food in cash and get a refund on my deposit back to my card lets hope this is dealt with or I will have paid close to £140 for a dissapointing meal this was the Hollywood Rd Branch by the way. No discount was offered nor anything other than apologies. I think my experience was probably not the norm for the restaurant but I also feel that my experience should be shared.
