Love this place. Great staff. Beautiful scenery. Usually stop by after a walk in Bute Park

absolutely lovely, i was in a new place and my phone was on 1% and they were so helpful and i got the best toast ever-

A great little place for a snack or a cuppa (ice cream in summer). Sitting is outside only but some seats are covered. Great service and always love going here. Reasonably priced. Located in Bute Park near the Millennium footbridge.

Had a lovely cup of tea and a slice of cake here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very popular with dog walkers

Lovely little coffee shop in Bute park. Ideal if you're waiting to catch a coach from Sofia Gardens. It's just a short walk over the river taff foot bridge. Reasonably priced and lovely staff.

So I just got off a coach at Sofia Gardens Coach Station. Was in need of a good coffee so headed across the river to Summerhouse Cafe. A warm welcome, good chitchat and a great price for a oat milk latte. I had my own mug so got a discount as well. Great customer service and look forwards to coming here in the summer when I come to Cardiff again.

Tiny little cafe in Bute park, lots of places for seating and bowls for dogs to drink from. Good selection of hot food, drinks, ice cream and snacks. Many choices and fair prices for the location. Parking in Sophia gardens nearby. Friendly staff, hope to visit again.

Welcome stop off point for walkers in Bute Park. The cafe seems to change hands every couple of years, so quality varies, but generally good for tea/coffee and light meals. My dog loves a dog ice cream from here any time of the year.

Great location but the ice cream is the worst I've ever had. Like eating a cone of barely frozen cold water.

The soft serve ice cream was different but tasty.

Not as good as it used to be and that's not due to the current situation, the food wasn't anywhere near as good as it used to be.

Great place, food and coffee was great. The staff are pleasant and helpful and I recommend this place.

Rude and terrible customer service! We got yelled at for having their chairs on the grass when there were clearly no rules that said we are not allowed to. Six other people had their chairs where we had them and nobody said anything to them and they were not harassed. We were singled out for looking ‘different’. There was no need to yell and treat us with disrespect and bias. I am reporting this to whom it may concern. We were paying customers and the employee should have been courteous in requesting we move the chairs. Not yell and harass us. Not single us out. We gave no trouble at all and didn’t mind the request. It was the treatment that we object to. You have lost what could’ve been regular customers. I will take further action and report this. Such lovely staff with a large range of food, cold and hot drinks and ice creams. Very good with the social distancing with barriers for different queues with tables to pass the drinks/food over to customers. I also noticed that they sanitize the tables and freezers regularly. Would recommend!!!

This is a great little open-air cafe in the park selling hot and cold food, drinks, ice-cream etc. Staff here are superb. Reasonable prices and great choice of good quality food!

Lovely place to have a coffee overlooking the river, reasonably priced too.. a welcome sight on my saturday/sunday morning bike ride.

Stopped for a drink and some food as I’d seen them spray hand sanitiser in another customer’s hand. Before handling the ice cream I asked for some hand sanitiser too and the woman pointed to a bucket of water with some bubbles in. How can this possibly be safe with everyone sticking their hands in? Wouldn’t have been a huge problem if the staffs’ attitude wasn’t so awful.

It looks wonderful but I couldn’t taste the coffee as it was closed!

I like the Summerhouse Cafe and almost always stop off when I'm passing. A nice place to sit, drink a beverage or soft drink, eat a decent snack (plenty of choice) and watch the world go by in the open fresh air of essentially a large well kept garden. Loads of people passing, just has a nice ambiance. Staff always appear pleasant and friendly. Be aware though that it is entirely open air and most of the seating is bench tables literally in the open. There will be some sun umbrellas in the summer but little shelter in the colder months if it's raining. Also it is a kiosk based cafe, collect your food at the window once it's freshly made.

Great place to stop and watch the world go by, reasonable prices and quick service. Only down side is there are no toilets here.

The location is excellent, and if all you want is a sit down it gets 5 stars. But I had wanted coffee, and the coffee was as weak as dishwater. I asked if they could make it stronger, and they said a standard Americano came with 1 shot (for comparison, the same size at Costa has 3), and another shot was 50p. I'd already given the rest of my cash as a tip, so I declined and threw the rest away. Not impressed at all.

Exceptionally overpriced cafe in a large Cardiff Park owned and run by money grubbers. Very, very boring ordinary food and cakes and drinks. Fleecing the public is all I can say.

Great location within the park, however the hot drinks weren't good and actually chucked the cappuccino and hot chocolate we had.

Really like this little cafe in Bute Park. They do great breakfast rolls/baguettes for £3. It's dog friendly (unlike the Secret Garden Cafe further along the path) which is great for us as we have a labradoodle. Good location just across the bridge from Sofia Gardens. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the tea is a bit weak, but that's all. Well recommended!

No recycling bins. Plastic bottles and other recyclable material chucked into general rubbish bins destined for landfill. Why isn’t the cafe playing its part to increase recycling rates?

Had a cappuccino which didn't taste of much, and my daughter had a grey looking tea. No customer toilets. Won't go there again

I'm 99% sure that they Add water to the mix for their ice cream machine to squeeze more profit from it. The ice cream is water heavy and frozen like an ice pole. Not at all creamy and most unpleasant. trading standards shall be informed as soon as bank holiday weekend is over.

Beautiful setting on a bright spring day for a coffee at very reasonable prices.

Has a delicious hot chocolate and a very tasty bacon and cheese toastie. Would recommend!

Well it's that time of the year again, I think their are 3 cafes around Cardiff that are in the perfect place and this is one of them. Because if you're in a it of a rush I think you can phone your order ahead of yourself

Have eaten a few times here and purchased a few ice creams also 😏. The food is tasty enough and the staff are friendly and I have had no reason to complain. Also the fact that it is so dog friendly and you can sit at the tables with your four legged pal makes it even better.

Positioned perfectly by the bridge this is a great place to stop off for a quick bite and the food is surprisingly good for a café in the park. Also very dog friendly with plenty of water bowls available, free dog treats, and dog safe yoghurt.
