Started visiting this chip shop 15 years the past 2 years the chips are smaller and loads of old crunchy bits and pale looking the vinegar use to be available by the bucket full and access to salt now its all kept away from the customer, no customer service anymore or friendlyness large sausage and fish as gone down bank, very expensive and the foods not good years ago it was the best chippy in brean with beautiful fish and chips 👎

Excellent as always. We come back here year after year.

There are no other fish bars in Brean. This place is the only location to serve decent food. Jim and the family have owned it for over 30 years and it shows with their love for the local people and the regular summer visitors. I’ve been going for over 20 years and won’t eat (out) anywhere else in Brean.

Food was lovely and hot. I had Fish and chips. Just found fish a tad too "oilly" for me, which made the batter soft and had no crunch. They only accept cash, so having planned to stop had to then sort cash. So use to card payments....

Thought I would try somewhere different instead of the theme park as they food is not the best, saw this chip shop just off the main road so try it and it was a lot better then others in Brean, so I went I'm back in Brean I will be going back here as the staff looked happy and there was not much of a wait

Best chips I've had for a long time. Crispy outside and soft inside. Cooked in fresh oil and despite it taking us a while to get them home the chips hadn't clumped together (as often happens) I highly recommend trying out this yummy 😋 fish and chips bar

Fish was delicious but the chips were cold, dried up and was extremely disappointing. Not a patch on other establishments in Burnham on Sea. Sorry would not recommend.

Over priced and the staff are disgusting the younger women in her 50 was not just rude but she wouldn't stop looking at my daughter's chest and will not be going to this over priced bin shop again!

Very nice fish and chips for a chippy tea with friendly staff

Chips are just about ok, the fish itself is edible but the fish batter is far too thick and literally dripping with oil.

This place feels like it's been going forever very friendly staff service was great. Food I didn't really enjoy chips wasn't for me and chicken burger wasn't great. Recommend playing it safe with a pie. Outside offers sitting but no umbrellas to shade you from sun, rain, or seagulls

Been using this fish shop for many years while on holidays in brean and every year I get a great welcome from the owners, really friendly people. The fish and chips is my number 1 choice but the chicken is also a favourite with my family, we visit at least 3 times during our stay definitely recommend this place as the customer service is superb and the food is really good.

Visited the amazing beach and fancied a traditional seaside bite to eat ; chose Regular cod portion which was enormous and really fresh - not oily and the was batter light and crispy. Amazing fresh chips, and mushy peas perfect, as was the pickled egg and gherkins. Everything I ate was cooked in front of me there and then and ready within minutes - despite it being a busy lunchtime. Really nice lunch and thank you for the professional swift service. Highly recommend for COD AND CHIPS

Bit pricey as to be expected being where u are but the food was good. No deals and everything sold separately. was £7.90 just for the cod or £10.90 with chips. Fish was a good size but chips portion was a bit on small side. Overall very flavourful

Was ok, chips and batter a bit soggy.

Fish itself was ok, batter greasy and not crispy at all, chips sub par as well. Would be ok if you’re really stuck for something to eat, but didn’t return.

I asked for a large fish but they didn't have any. To be fair, the normal size was larger than expected and was big enough to share. The portion size wasn't as big as expected for the price, but probably the going rate for the sea side.

Just had a large bag of chips...£4.50 ... Couldn't eat them neither could the kids they were as hard as concrete..... It shouldn't be allowed... If they are old chips then tell the customer or reduce the price for that reason.... Not charge you full price for something in-edible..... Terrible.....

Disappointed regular cod and chips x2 Both was very greasy and very bland right thought to the paper bag and plastic bag supplied..under cooked to order needing airing off..normally the best in Brean in the past at the cost of nearly £20 expected better from any sea side takeaway the worst tasting fish and chips I had in years..glad this is not my local!.just wish I returned them both..

The food was a delight my nan stood up for the first time in 25 years and started doing the macaraina while aggressively pooing herself as she remembered she's allergic to fish apart from that definitely would come again

Fish OK but pretty soggy. Fell apart. Curry sauce was lovely. Chips were disgusting so I left them (not cooked long enough) didn't go back. Reasonable priced but seamed like it was cooked to order

Sausages & pie we orderd were ok but chips unfortunately went straight in the bin as were inedible, shame but really not good.

Large cod and chips £10.40 cod was freshly cooked staff really friendly shop looked very clean we shared the fish and chips the potion was very big too many chips to be honest really enjoyed.

A great family run chippy where you get excellent customer service, no matter how busy they are. Well worth a visit, but remember to bring cash, they don't except card payments. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

Googled best fish n chips near us (staying on Johnfowler site, Brean)and OMG we were not disappointed! Definitely up there with the best fish n chips ever! Cooked fresh, large portion and really really tasty!

First place we ate after arriving late at Pontins on a friday night and apart from trying to find an ATM as every where was cash only including this place the chips were top stuff! enjoyed them very much even if we were cold.. the chips soon warmed us up! lost a star for the not accepting card!

The queue extending 10m out the shop was quite reassuring - nobody queues for manky chips! - but I actually found the cod and chips we had quite greasy and not overly tasty either. Price was average for the area (cash only, no £50 notes accepted if you're flash enough to own one) but high compared to non-seaside areas. Wasn't dreadful but wasn't that great either.

We always have our fish and chips (and sit to eat on the beach) from here whenever we visit, great portion sizes at reasonable prices, the food is always fresh and the family running it are always pleasant and will happily help with any questions I have. Can't recommend enough.
