Pleas avoid, avoid & avoid these kind of inferior customer service. I can’t even give single star. Very narrow place to sit & disrespectful staff. They looks so stressful and not ready to listen. We been 7 ppl plus 2 kids.and our platter price is £91.95 but they charged £1.50 for single Turkish tea for my kid. We are fully disappointed with food & poor customer service. We have been many Turkish restaurants. We never had such a poor experience. Please avoid and teach them.

Very poor service. They couldn’t handle with busy situations. Very narrow atmosphere. Food also average and other Turkish restaurants much better than this. I am fully disappointed with all. Great tasty Turkish food. I usually go for the platter, which includes a variety of different chicken and lamb, with plenty of rice and bulgur. My favourite being the ribs. The service is very good and they try and serve you as soon as possible, even though it can get very busy at times.

Really good Turkish food and portions are big. Service was a little slow but friendly staff.

Booked for 24 people including small kids a week in advance. Guests coming from very far so I asked for reservation to be delayed from 7pm to 7.30pm earlier on in the day. They refused and the so called bookings manager calling herself Alexandria phoned me at 7pm and said ur booking is cancelled. The guests were literally on their way. I ended up having a long argument with her. I said I can’t be there at 7pm on the dot and to atleast give some extra time. She then said 7.15pm max. The guests would have arrived for 7.20pm. She didn’t agree to extend the time further than 7.15pm and therefore cancelled the booking and said she would put us on a waiting list if we came beyond 7.15pm. She was so unreasonable, unprofessional, rude, unaccommodating and had a horrible attitude and poor communication skills. She lost out on a big booking for the restaurant and could have made a big sale for the business as we were all very hungry. However, she seemed to have no care for the business or the customers. We called up wazir and straight away they gave us a table for 24 people and had the best service and food. Shame on sultans for hiring poorly trained staff and therefore losing customers. This happened at 7pm on 28/7/24. If any of the owners care for their business then look into this matter as your staff are losing you business.

Place is buzzing all the time. Food is decent, and decent portions. However, for the price a bit too much rice and stuff, and not enuff meat. but it was still tasty.

Bread was dry like eating rock .By visual inspection 30-40 packets of bread they made early and kitchen chef absolutely was horrible un-professional. DO NOT TAKE Bread left for so long . 0/10 score . Quantity of rice and couscous was overloaded, hardly you are able to see if there is DONER kebab or chicken doner kebab all you see in the platter , poor quality of couscous & rice . Quality of couscous & rice look like mashed potato .Local redbridge health and safety food inspector MUST visit this restaurant to check food standard's .

Price is bit high and little but congested and when you have more people the service will take long time but food is 👍

I can't rate the food or atmosphere as we didn't get to eat, but the service was horrendous. I walked in with my 2-year-old toddler and my wife for dinner. Half the restaurant was empty, and according to the notepad I saw, they had only 2 bookings. Despite this, we were told to wait for 20 minutes even though there were more than 4 rows of empty tables (each row had 3-4 tables). I believe because we were a small family, they just didn't want to accommodate us, which is bizarre. Restaurants should accommodate everyone, especially when it's not busy. I don't think I'll go back as we had to find somewhere else to eat. Super disappointed and definitely something they need to work on.

I buy food regularly from Sultan. On 20 July, I bought chef special platter and paid £15 for for salad and sauces which were part of the platter. The salad was off completely off and unable to eat them. Made complaint to restaurant manager Harry who denied to apologise for bad food production and any liability. Worst customer service

Very good Turkish restaurant in the heart of Ilford. Very quick service. Professional staff. Grill open kitchen. Fresh always. Huge portions. Delicious food. Most of the time it is very busy, but I have never been waiting for a long time. Take away and home delivery also available. Good for prices. I highly recommend visiting this place.

I want to share my experience been there twice had to experience awful service no offence like food is amazing tasty but the staff dont bother have to be asking again n again or call up many times even the guy on the till came to us for order as no one else could come appreciate that guy in white shirt just shared my experience others must go n should try as foods nice need to work on customer service

What an amazing afternoon!! And Okyanus was an exceptional waitress!!! She was very friendly and flexible….no request was difficult for her to fulfil. We had a group of our foster carers and staff from NFA London North, a group of over 40 people showing our appreciation for the work the foster carers do. Well done Sultan! Thank you Okyanus!! 😎🙏🏾😁

Great place to eat... family's favourite. There is no other Turkish restaurant that has the same quality and taste. Price is reasonable, and quantity is generous. Lot of complementary stuff, especially Turkish tea.

Went here as a group of 4 in the early evening. Only after we being seated after waiting 20 mins for a table were we told that doner and pide were not available. Tables that were seated and ordered after us were served first. Lachmacun was good but lamb and chicken shish were very dry.

Went during a quiet time and the service i thought was shockingly slow, food was undercooked, chicken especially. Asked for a mango drink and it was poured from a cheap carton infront of us and overcharged for it.

Travelled Ilford & stopped by Sultan for late lunch. Restaurant was busy on main road. Parking nearby on roads. We went inside and seated within 5 mins. It was busy and atmosphere was loud from other diners. We placed order within 10 minutes and food arrived within 15 mins. I ordered mix kebab and partner ordered adana kebab and 2 x drinks. Both portion size was big and was tasty. We had no complaints and we were happy with food and service 😋 I know it can get crazy busy later in evenings. Will recommend 👌

We went to sultan for dinner the service was very poor the man who served us put the plate forcefully on table ( I never experienced this much disrespectful service in any restaurant)and meal we ordered big platter around 92£ they miss the lamb donner on the platters when we ask them for that they said carelessly only they will give if it’s available I never recommend this restaurant in future Unhappy about the food and service . And we ask them to reserve table in front because of elder person coming and can’t walk they didn’t book in front they give us for normal table in the last staffs are very rude .

Lipstick on tea cup from not being washed properly. Also the front staff are just so moody, they’re having fun with each other so clearly they can be happy. we’re rushed to finish, which I understand but them being miserable makes things worse. The young boy at the front that also acts like he owns the place needs to cheer up, ur not saving the world. We go there often but I don’t think we will go there anymore, cba with moody staff

I used to go here a lot when they first opened. It was our go to place. Prices have tripled since I first started going there. Also some tricks I've seen in Turkey tourist traps whereby the menu is misleading and you end up paying a lot more than you thought you would

Best kebab I have ever had, the portion is huge and the quality is amazing. I ordered a lamb shish and it’s delicious. Also the bread is freshly baked. Would definitely go there again!

the driver left with my food because he wanted a code, which I was not given. embarrassing to hear his excuses after I explained I didn't have a code and I infact was the person who ordered the food. eventually after holding my food hostage, he agreed to give me what I had ordered. dreadful, all just for a bit of Turkish.

Came here 4 times and was impressed every time. The food quality, taste and customer service was on top. The servers are very professional and polite with every guest and overall I'm extremely happy with the service. Will be going back soon!

I've been going here to eat in and take away for a quite a few years now, and even been cheaky enough to try a few different Turkish restaurants over the time, but a tip for you....don't waste your time or money going anywhere else! The food here is consistetly perfect. Tender, lean meat beautifully & lightly spiced with herbs. Perfectly cooked rices, salad to due for, & beautifully baked turkish bread. This food is out of this world, and reasonably priced with big portions. The 'Chefs Special' is unbelieveable, - 7 different types of meat for 2 to share, a feast and spasm for your tastebuds. I can't recommend this place. If you want the ultimate kebab, - trust me this is where you will get it.

My go to place for Turkish food, we have tried quite a few places in Ilford but nothing comes close to sultan. Be warned, it gets really busy! Platters are massive! Comes with loads of bread and dips!

As regular customers, we had the worst experience today in sultan. We were 11 people who went post iftar because we could not find a booking for iftar time (completely understandable). We were just looking for a nice chat with our family. However, when we ordered our food the man “in charge” who's claiming he is not the manager was very annoyed at the amount we ordered. He decided to stare and give dirty looks the entire time we were having our meal making us feel uncomfortable. We could have ordered more if there was any chicken/lamb doner left however it was finished. When we confronted him at the end he shrugged his shoulders constantly and said “yes, i did stare at u guys because u should have ordered more food regardless if there was any doner left” Pretty disappointing, you’re going to lose more customers if you treat them like this. He even complained saying that they had to set up the table, im sorry but that’s in ur job description no matter what we order. However the waitress was very nice to us and the other staff members except from this man. This man guides everyone around so it’s hard to miss him if you go.

We had very bad experience because manager was away, and replacement manger was so rude ,he kept staring at us . Even though when asked he said yes I was annoyed because you ordered less food. There was no doner left and he shrugged and said not my issue.

The person who was in charge today because the manager was on holiday was so rude and ridiculous towards us while we were eating our food, he was constantly staring at us ruining the sultan business because of his behaviour.

I ordered a takeaway totaling to around £50. Went I went home I noticed that they didn't give me any salad or sauce which comes with the meal. I called to discuss this with the store and customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. So rude and the Conversation ended with them hanging up on me. I will never order from here again

Friendly, quick, and nice food

We chose the platter for 3-4 people, featuring a delightful mix of Adana kofte, lamb chops, lamb shish, chicken beyti, chicken shish, chicken wings, lamb ribs, complemented by grilled onions, rice, bulgur, salad, bread, hummus, cacik, chili, and garlic sauce. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The flavors of the food were impressive, but the tightly packed tables diminished the overall atmosphere, making it challenging to enjoy a conversation without being surrounded by neighboring discussions. Despite booking two hours in advance for the bustling restaurant, the crowded setting affected the overall experience. We refrained from ordering drinks as a 1.5-liter water bottle was included in the platter, and the final bill tallied around £65.

Went with family. I have been coming here for last three years almost once in a month. For the first time we felt different unfriendly environment. Food was great as always. However, most staffs (new ! I guess) were not welcoming and unprofessional attitudes, and behaviour.

Best Turkish restaurant in east London

These are good Turkish restaurants. Sepcially their price is still good if we compare it to wazir. It's gets very busy on weekends. The place is congested. But I will still love it over wazir. It's a recommended place for Turkish food.

Received wrong order. Waitress accuses me of confusing her (not sure how). Indirectly saying I have to pay for an order. Make sure you have a note pad whilst taking people's orders in the future! Food is average. Al Nazik is just a chopped up kebab. You can check my other reviews. You can see what Al Nazik should look like. Too bad I didn't have a picture of the dish for here. The place is cramped. Though I don't think it's anyone's fault. Just a small restaurant. The staff don't look happy

Rude staff, terrible service, atmosphere too loud, and waiters are liable to mess up your orders or even forget them completely. When these problems happen, they don't offer anything to fix the problems caused. Avoid this place - go to Faroz or Wazir instead of you want a good Turkish restaurant in the area.

I discovered this establishment via Google Maps, attracted by its favorable reviews, and I must admit, it exceeded my expectations. The cuisine is delectable, crafted to order and of excellent quality, all at very reasonable prices, offering outstanding value. The personnel are amiable, and the atmosphere is pristine, with ample seating. Certainly a destination worth exploring!

Heard really good things about this restaurant, was quite busy when we arrrived, my youngest child had a fruit shoot drink which he was drinking, waitress came over and said drinks from outside is not allowed as they sell their own drinks and the manager will be upset. My response to that was to let the manager come and say that himself, if he wants our custom, he better behave. I have never ever experienced such nonsense of a rule in the many restaurants I have dined in with my family. I have dined in hundreds, and never has someone approached us and told us our 5 year old child cannot drink from the drink he likes. To lose future custom over a drink demonstrates how pathetic this place is. The manager needs basic customer service training. Little things like this can ruin the mood and experience.

Very reasonable. Especially when you compare it to some of the other local Turkish places. They didn't charge for extra bread, nor do they add a service charge to the bill! Food was great too! Recommended if your looking for Turkish food in the Ilford area.
