Sultan Takeaway in Edinburgh, City of

Sultan catered our 45-strong ceilidh on Saturday and they were fantastic. The food arrived on time and was beautifully cooked with several of our guests saying it was the best fish and chips they had eaten. We would highly recommend Sultan.

I buy dinner from Sultan around about once a week, and its always great. the food is good, the prices are fair and the staff are friendly. i highly recommend giving it a try

Food can be hit or a miss, sometimes it’s lovely sometimes it’s flavourless.

That was the most disappointing calzone I’ve ever had. Stuffed with small squares of thick ham and tomato. Never known anything like it 😩

Stay clear of this dump if you want uncooked chips then this Is the place for you, after ringing them and saying please make sure chips are well cooked they send the chips half cooked and just disgusting, rang to complain and I was told to find a better takeaway from the rude manager, anyways £13 pounds for chips cheese and curry sauce is rip off anyways. So I will find a better takeaway than this dump

I bought a chicken donner wrap, it’s really tasty and portion size is good for the price. I’ll definitely buy from Sultan again!

Not from area so took a chance too order and it turned out to be a great decision. Delivery staff are punctual and personable. Food was impeccable and I'd highly recommend to anyone.

I live in kirkliston so I was shocked when they delivered a half hour early. Food is incredible. Best pizza by far. The wraps are huge and are packed. Delivery driver is so so nice. I have fussy kids, and even they request this place on takeaway night. Amazing! I’ll be back soon.

I ordered fish and chips and a kebab roll from this place. The fish and chips were okay, but not that hot or fresh. The kebab roll was massive, but meat was old to the point of being stale. suspect it was yesterdays, and had 30 seconds in the microwave before making into my dinner. I don't recommend. prompt delivery though.

Ordered the food to wrong address (my mistake) but the owner delivered the food again. This was very kind. Best takeaway in Edinburgh.

Forgot our curry sauce again. Happened before. Phoned the guy to say I wanted the curry sauce with a fresh order as no point in curry sauce with stone cold food. Guy on other side of the phone just rude. Paper sticking to fish and food lukewarm. Sultan turned into an absolute shambles.

The fish was horrible today. I'm a regular customer but the food recently hasn't been that good. Very disappointed.

I've had great fish and chips from Sultan but this was my first time ordering a lamb shish kebab and it was fantastic. a generous portion of nicely cooked lamb, fresh pitta bread, a good amount of salad and sauces, one of which was a chilli sauce with a good kick to it. (other local kebab shops take note!) . One of the best kebabs I've had in a while.

Food was well ahead of the expected delivery time. The driver contacted me to let me know he was outside the hotel and waited for me to come from the room. The food was excellent, the mixed kebab was really tasty and was large. I’ll deffo order from here again when I’m next in the area.

Great wee chippy owned by a lovely man, who houses a team of friendly employees who will always greet you with a smile. Can't fault their food either. 5 stars is not enough 🫶

Driver delivered the order to some other person and the owner accused me that I am lying and took the food. Don't trust and order because you may not receive your order.

Food was good but was missing the mars bar that I paid for in my order. That’s the second time this has happened. I was charged for it but did not receive it. I would’ve phoned to request if was sorted but I was too tired.

delivery driver knocked unecceseraly loud and after answering the door was very rude getting in my face and raising his voice for no reason whatsoever.

Chips tasted like old oil and were literally dripping oil. Fish was solid and quite burnt on one side and the batter was also saturated with oil. Driver forgot to deliver the drinks and we called the shop straight away once we realised but it took another 40 mins for the delivery driver to return with the drinks. Sorry guys, this is the last time I order from the Sultan.

Having ordered here for a few years it’s about time for a review. Food always amazing, without fail, delivery or collection is no issue. The pizzas are some of the best you’ll be able to order in Edinburgh. Great pick for a kebab or wrap too.

New to the area tried a few take aways all been extremely disappointing. First time ordering from Sultan, ordered chicken & lamb shish kebab asked if they can swap pitta bread for chips as I have coeliac disease they were more than happy to accommodate, food arrived quickly, meat/chips were hot must say I've never had a kebab that arrives as hot as this it made the chicken and lamb succulent and so much more tasty! 10/10 for me would definitely recommend. One tiny issue which was my salad was soggy there was no crunch to it and missing onion, if you guy pre pack your salad box's I'd recommend making it fresh as the water from the purple cabbage ruined it, all in all ACE take away got yourself a new regular!
