I ordered kebab it was horrible and disgusting shish kebabs looks like plastic chicken was not cooked Customer service zero point because after a starter we wait about 30 minutes to bring the main course i waste my money I don’t try gain

Meal for 4 .. starters and mains. Cannot fault it, great food. Cant wait til we are able to go for a sit down meal.

I visited three times in September 2020. Sigara boregi, mixed meze and kalamar [calamari] starters all first class. Another reviewer praised the adana with reason. The moussaka is also memorable. The spicy chicken is a treat and a generous portion. Baklava is served with cream and ice-cream and is quite delicious.

Lovely well organised venue, great food and service, good value for money, big portions and all fresh cooked, hollumi was amazing. Lovely helpful staff.

Popped in on the of chance and aa it was quiet there was no problem getting a table. We ordered from the 2 course menu for £14.95 which was such good value for money (and so much nicer than a pub meal!) Both courses were served and presented beautifully and the meat was tasty and juicy (I had the mixed kebabs) Service was great and staff were very polite (and were cleaning a lot as well!) Fully reccomend a meal here!

Not long back from the Sultan Restaurant. Food is EXCELLENT !!!!! Perfect flavour and cooked just perfect. Only problem was they were very busy and waited nearly half an hour for the bill after asking for it. The staff could not have worked any harder, they never stopped. We did think the bill should have been less than it was but after looking at some reviews saying only certain meals were on the 50% off offer maybe it was right. Plus we do not know how much it cost for 3 pints of coke and a large wine. But nether the less we will definitely go here again. May even think of ordering take out in the future.

Table booked for 6.45. After lots of prompting we finally got a drink after 45 minutes, starter came eventually, again after reminding the staff, and main meal an hour and three quarters later! By this time we had lost our appetite. Male member of staff came over and asked if all was ok, I said yes apart from the wait, to which he seemed rather put out and then said,' but that's normal'... yeah, sure it is. My daughter felt so disappointed as she had booked the table and had later, seen some reviews that said the service was dreadful. Well it truly was appalling, folks who came in after us were being served before us. Maybe if they adhered to social distancing like they are supposed to, they may be able to cope. Ruined our evening. Worst service I have ever encountered. AVOID

Very friendly staff and food was cooked to perfection with the right balance of spices and heat within each meal. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

On Monday 17th August, my wife and I used the 'eat out to help out ' scheme to treat our son for getting into university. We got 3 x £13.95p meals and 3 x alcoholic drinks (not included) (and a jug of tap water for me because I was driving) at £4 per drink. £42 discounted to 50% is £21 plus £12 for drinks = £33 plus tip = £35. Everyone is happy. I get a bill for £55. I query the bill. After a long deliberation a second bill comes back £53.65p a random £1.35p was discounted. This was when alarm bells rang. My wife and son polity tried to settle this whilst I went to get the car. After 30 minutes they adjusted the bill to £64 stating that it should be £128 but then it's 50% off. My wife said that she would pay the £33 without tip (obviously) and they told her that 'eat out to help out ' is only on certain food! They were quite clearly abusing the scheme. They refused to take £33 pound they said we can either pay £45 or £64 just random figures with out logic or reason. They said pay, don't pay it's up to you! So we left, we tried to pay and they would not take the correct payment. We got into the car and the chef ran out of the restaurant, dragged my son out of the back of the car and started trying to attack him with a meat cleaver. Four members of staff jumped on the chef and stopped him from slashing my son 'over thirty quid.' My son managed to get back in the car thankfully unscathed. If you don't agree with my review and you do decide to eat at Sultan, MAKE SURE that you don't have any issue whatsoever, or you will be getting attacked.For the record, the food was ok. Not great just ok. Not worth a knife attack though.

Visited here on 5/8/20 and the place was fully booked with very few staff. The service was appalling! After being seated we waited 90 minutes before we even received our starters (garlic bread and halloumi) then waited a further 40 minutes before deciding to cancel our mains as we had gone past hungry. Looking around the restaurant many were in the same position waiting for food or leaving. The restaurant was very busy with no social distancing taken into consideration. Would not recommend - many other better restaurants on South Road.

Visited here last night. We had booked a table for 8 O’Clock. There’s a small waiting area as you go in with a bar. We could see it was busy in the restaurant so had to wait a while. Would of liked a drink while waiting, but the barman looked to busy to ask. We sat down at our table at 7.50. Then waited to be served drinks. Eventually, a waitress came over and took our drinks order, it’s now 8.25. Just before 9, our food orders were taken. We got 2 lots of starters, waited for the other two, they never came. We ended up sharing what we had. In the end, we couldn’t wait for our main courses any longer. It’s now nearly 10 O’Clock. We paid for what we’d had and left. We have been a few times to Sultan and have always enjoyed the food,in fact we can’t fault it. It’s delicious. It was our first thought of venue when the government introduced the new scheme for August, so maybe the restaurant couldn’t handle the extra custom, I don’t know. We’d looked forward to it all day. So disappointed.

No social distancing whatsoever! Half hour wait until drinks order taken. Another hour for HALF the starters to arrive. Other half was forgotton about. Walked out half hour later, no sign of mains and wasn't hungry anymore. This place can't handle it being busy.

Ate at The Sultan mid week in July post lockdown.Love the lights in the ceiling and really sets a great atmosphere.Tables with diners all apart for social distancing.Food really good and plenty of choice.Hummus is fab and Turkish bread is awesome.Cocktails very good - had pornstar Martinis and served in huge glasses.Puddings to die for - chocolate cake serving was huge.All very clean and service excellent.

The food was lovely and lots of it. However the service was very slow but that was probably due to not many staff/furlough. They also didnt include the government 50% off and they tried to say that not all the menu included this! They eventually deducted it after we persisted but they wasnt happy about it!

It is my 70th birthday today and I decided to have a takeaway meal from the Sultan. I have eaten at the restaurant on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed the experience immensely. I purchased a takeaway for 5 adults and 4 children and we couldn't have been more pleased with the food. Other than myself and my wife no one had been to the Sultan before but after having sampled the delicious food everyone agreed that they will be certain to make it a regular place to go. I cannot thank the staff enough for the excellent food and service.

Ate again at The Sultan with friends mid week - had a Groupon and no issue using it either. Set menu with plenty of choice for mains ans starters.Great atmosphere with low lighting and ceiling covered in tiny lights added to the ambience.Good choice of wines at very reasonable prices - most around £15 to £20. Great Argentine Malbec for under £16.All had starters - had the mixed soulvaki - 4 small kebab style sticks - including lamb - chicken - adana - Turkish sausage. All tasted great and came with nice salad and dressing.All really enjoyed our mains.We had a few pornstar martinis to finish.Restaurant and toilets all very clean.Service excellent.We paid extra for Turkish bread and hummus.Mains we had a number of different meals - i had chicken kebab - was awesome and so big and very tasty - comes with rice and salad. Others had the chicken thighs ( huge portion), Lamb kofta and the meat and veg meal cooked in a pot with cheese on top.We ordered chips as extra and just the best home made chips.Just 5 minutes from Waterloo Station and 5 minutes from gardens by the beach.

wow, and thats the word the you keep saying here, our first visit on saturday evening, excellent garlic bread, we ordered mixed kebab, chicken skewer and childs mini chicken kekab, food is the highest quality and cooked superb, service also superb and restaurant decor is excellent , creating a lovely ambience, totally recommend

The food was excellent. Nearly everyone who leaves does so with a 'doggy bag' the portion sizes are so generous.

We’ve visited sultan several time’s now and it’s fast becoming a firm favourite! The food is always delicious and the staff welcoming and polite. The value for money is excellent and they’re always happy to box up any leftovers to takeaway. Also not sure what they do with the rice but it is heavenly!

Myself and my dad decided to take a visit their for first time to feel the Turkish mood feeling. The staff was helpful and friendly with good manners especially the lady. The food was spot on and tasty giving good culture flavour on the food. The atmosphere in the building was fantastic in my life so it’s good design ever.

As the title would suggest, was our first time,definitely will not be the last. Start just how welcome the staff made you. Then how helpful they talked us through the extensive menu. The food was beautifully presented and tasted better than it looked.

Visited here on a quiet Tuesday evening and had the Early Bird Menu. It certainly has plenty of choice. We had the mixed meze and meatballs to start and then my wife had the sea bass and I had the mixed kebab. The food was freshly made and was really tasty. Washed down with a couple of draft Efes, it was as good as any restaurant we have been to in Turkey. The staff were friendly and very welcoming.

Great service. Friendly and helpful. Nice to see smiling faces from all the staff. We hadn’t booked - it was Sunday evening and clearly busy - but we were found a table really quickly. It’s so pretty inside with the hundreds of tiny red lights on the ceiling. We chose from the 2 course early bird menu for £13.95. There were a few things that had an added supplement but plenty of choices. The food was absolutely delicious. Very tasty. This was my first time here but I’m already looking forward to my next. It was my friends birthday and they brought her cake and played happy birthday.

Had another great meal at Sultan tonight. Halloumi fries, sea bass and spicy chicken among the dishes served, devoured and enjoyed!

Visited late Saturday afternoon after a long walk along the coastal path, and glad we did. Staff were very welcoming, and restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere on a chilly evening. Service was very prompt but not pushy and we felt very relaxed. A delicious range of dishes at very reasonable prices, and left very satisfied. Will be going back again.

Food was gorgeous, so flavoursome and really generous portions. We were served quickly and The atmosphere was really relaxed. The seabass was cooked well and was great value for money. Will return.

Our second visit in a fortnight to see if my original impressions were correct, they were it's a brilliant restaurant, I would definitely recommend the Spicy Turkish Sausage absolutely outstanding as was the Adana. Be warned that in a none PC the portion are what you would described as man-sized. Sultan's get a approval rating

The food and service here are excellent, our absolute favourite place to eat. Cocktails are lovely too. We love any excuse to go here and est. Highly recommended

Travelled a distance to get there by public transport. We had booked earlier on. When we arrived we where told as we where using GROUPON we needed 24 hours notice. We showed him our voucher which did not state this.

Used a groupon and the fine print states: “Valid for a starter up to the value of £5.25, a main up to £13.99. For any dishes over these values the difference in price is to be paid directly to the merchant.”

After purchasing a groupon voucher we tried to book several times but were told there was no groupon allocation for the evening we required.

Been here before and cannot fault the staff, the food or the prices but feel I have to leave a review on yesterday’s visit . On arriving the order was taken and starters arrived , fab food , then the mains came and no chips? On asking where the chips was we were informed that they had none ? It was teatime and they were open the whole night ahead yet had no chips?? This is part of your meal bare in mind- no substitute came , just the meal minus the chips ?on watching other customers arrive none of them were informed when ordering meals only when there meal arrived minus there chips??? Which I think is slightly unfair given the chance that customers have the choice whether to leave and go elsewhere as some had children and we all know children can be hard to please . Other than this the restaurant has not deterred me from visiting again but in future I would rather be told before ordering that part of our meals would not be served , thanks

South Road is full of restaurant and I stumbled on Sultans a few months ago. The staff are always helpful and kind. The food is so flavourful including the bread! The location is great, right by the beach. The second time I visited it was quite busy with 2 large tables in as well as every table full but the quality of the food was still devine. Definitely worth the visit

Had a groupon, so rang to make a reservation for later that day. The girl laughed and said “today?” Then explained to us that there were only a certain amount of tables allocated to groupon customers. We later decided to go anyway, as one of the family members really wanted to try it and was leaving to go back to Spain the next day. She had a three year old son with her.

This was our first visit to the Sultan. We had not reserved a table but it was a quiet Sunday afternoon with plenty of tables available. The layout is almost the same as the Antonelli’s restaurant which used to be housed in the same building. Our order for drinks was taken while we studied the extensive menu. We decided to have starters, stuffed vine leaves for my wife and hummus for me. For main courses my wife chose the Guvec chicken which was baked with tomatoes, onions, aubergine, courgette and peppers; I opted for the lamb musakka which was served with rice and salad. The food was splendid and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it all and had no room for desserts. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.

what a gem, really good turkish food all freshly cooked in an open kitchen. great staff make you feel welcome and are very attentive. good menu and they have an early evening menu available. you got to give it a try you wont be disappointed

My girlfriend and I decided we fancied a Grek or Turkish at the last minute for a Saturday night and we couldn't get into any of our first choice restaurants so looked further afield using Tripadvisor for reference.

The food is just amazing, you cant go wrong here if you're looking for tasty, satisfying, top quality, value for money dining. Service is attentive and unobtrusive. Cant fault the place. Highly recommend.

We went for a family evening meal at the Sultan and we all enjoyed the experience, the food is excellent and we had a few Efes to wash down the meal. The starters are almost a full meal and none of use managed to finish our main course as they give you so much to eat.

Went to this restaurant after Groupon deal purchased to be handed a small menu with no prices and was told this deal only covers this menu, and unable to purchase from the main menu and pay the difference which is not stated on the deal.Ordered meal from the limited choice which then turned up as undercooked chicken to go with the beer which had a funny smell and taste. The manager was very rude and dismissive with no customer service skills whatsoever.Will not return to this restaurant as the Greek Taverna is leaps ahead in service and food on offer and don't be fooled by the Groupon it's a rip off.

Sultan provides a good range of Turkish foods. The portions are very good in size. The service was a little slow and not all meals came together - potetially a reflection of how busy it was that night.

There's been a few restaurants at this site that we always try but this one was a little gem. They layout of the place was the same but the decor now exotic and calming for a Turkish restaurant. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the food delicious. Portion sizes very generous and the staff seemed genuinely pleased when we asked for uneaten food to be packaged so we could eat it the next day, we were stuffed but the food was so lovely we didn't want to waste any. Will definitely return.

My first trip to a Mediterranean / Turkish restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. For an "early bird" special the portions were enormous, with lots of choice - so you're not directed down a limited set of cheap options. The spice sausage was superb.

Went with family, 7 including grandson! Went to order sultan meze, were going to order 6 but was advised they are very big so went down to 3 then we were advised again to get 2 which I'm glad we did! It was tasty and big!! The main for me was lamb skewer which was very dry, thought it was just my meal but it wasnt, all the meat on the meals was dry! Dad even asked for some ketchup! We waited nearly an hour for starter which is not good, Staff were lovely, very friendly! Even tho staff pleasant dont think we'll be going back again!

Staff was great no problem with them food I had to send back as it was cold in the middle. I ended up eating half of the wife's meal. By the time it came back . It was ok but the bottom of the meal still wasn't cooked so picked at it .the meal was called bety something. I thought I would try something different. Never again. Think I will stick will the restaurant at the top of south rd. Even the people behind us was having some problems with there meals. Sorry will not be returning.

Visited sultan with family today. By far the worst service I have ever had in any restaurant. We opted for the Groupon deal which states one starter and main with a price per meal and if you wish to pick something more expensive you pay the difference. Clearly stated on the voucher. We received a small set menu instead. Unfortunately one of the party does not eat mince or chicken and therefore I asked the waitress for an Al a carte menu so we could order and pay the difference. I was told a story how this is a problem with Groupon and the voucher is wrong. Nevertheless you have sold me a voucher for a menu I would not of purchased had that have been clear. I was eventually told that I can upgrade the meal for five pound. I explained that we were not looking to pick something expensive just to upgrade one meal so would pay the difference. At the point the male manager came over. Told me it is what it is and refused to help. He eventually told me he is too busy to speak to me and walked off. I continued talking to the waitress and the manager came over told me we are too busy. I said I would need to leave then as there is no main suitable for one of the party. At this point a second waitress tried to reason with the manager as she seemed baffled by the situation. I eventually walked away ready to collect my party and leave before I was told by the first waitress they would sort this. Sat for 10mins before chasing for the Al a carte menu so we could order. No apology received. Manager did not even have the courtesy to come over or utter a word when we left. He is an embarrsement to your restaurant. If you have an issue with Groupon that should be made clear when booking or be attempting to rectify the situation. I could have demanded as per the voucher but simply wanted to pay extra for a lamb kebab instead of chicken but was spoken to rudely and in an unprofessional way. Your manager is clearly in the wrong profession. Whilst staff remain the same will not be coming back. Ruined what should have been a celebratory night for a parent retiring and could have been handled so much better with such a simple request being made through your own fault. Your manager is spineless.

Went yesterday on a Groupon voucher to try this restaurant out.

Decided to call in after a few hours on the beach for a treat as this was the first restaurant we came to. It was around 5.50 and quite busy but they made room for us which was excellent. Lovely vibe to the place and were really impressed with the prices on the menu. Not sure of the name of the dish I had but the amount of Lamb I has was very impressive. So succulent and tasty!! The home cooked chips where stunning too. We all had a wonderful meal without being rushed. Defo go back

Me and my wife decided to go to the Sultan tonight and from asking for a table we were shown to our table and given are menus and the two course deal has a very good choice of food so we ordered drinks and food the starters came and when we had finished them we were asked if we were ready for are mains when they came the portions were big and the food was very good and tasty

Three friends and I travelled into Crosby to experience a Turkish meal. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the seating was attractive and comfortable . The staff were very friendly and helpful and served us promptly and in a friendly manner. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the visit so much that we will return there before too long. It was good value for money too.

Last night was our second visit to this area.The first time we arrived on the late side, having been held up by traffic, and had such a good meal that we didn't bother looking elsewhere to eat on this visit. The service was a little slow this time as it was earlier in the evening and they were one waitress short, but you could see they were all working hard to compensate. You can't fault someone when they are clearly doing their best. And when the food came, it was every bit as good as our first visit. Tasty and plentiful.

Me and my friend went to this restaurant, and it was fabulous! Reasonably priced too! During the week they offer the early bird menu all night which is 2 courses for £12.95 give or take a few pennies!

Came here last week with my other half for a meal after getting the groupon voucher. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and were seated quickly. We were given plenty of time to pick from the menu and were not rushed at all.

Went here on Sunday 20th Of Jan and loved it. From the moment we walked in the staff were superb, friendly and really helpful. Really good range of dishes on both the early bird and main menu and all reasonable priced. Both the starter and main was excellent with great service. Can’t wait to go back here again. Would really recommend a visit.

Went on Friday for an anniversary meal. OMG... AMAZIN. Delicious quality, fresh food, warm and welcoming staff and beautifully decorated. Good selection of food and drinks. We'll definitely be back. Could not fault anything. Our server Charlie was attentive and Ali, the owner made our night so special. A must try..

Much busier than last time we visited - couldn’t fault the service or food. Great value for money - love the halloumi for starter and chicken kebab for main (have had this the past 3 times - need to try something new next time). Very friendly and attentive staff - highly recommend

We were seated quickly without a reservation. Took over 20 minutes for drinks orders to be taken. Waited over 40 minutes still no sign of starters. Despite a reminder to the manager still no sign of food. Ended by leaving the restaurant only paying for drinks as excuse was that the kitchen had messed up. I am a local diner but will never return to this restaurant.

What a wonderful memory for us all thanks to Michelle, Ian and all their staff. Great atmosphere with the most amazing food in such a comfortable and warm environment. I do not eat cake but I couldn’t resist; they were delicious.

Went here late on a weeknight, impressed from the start, super friendly manager, warm and inviting decor. Upon manager’s advice we shared the halloumi to start, massive portion with a lovely pomegranate molasse on top. The Turkish bread is flavoured to perfection and lots of it. We had the sharing platter, was enough for 3 or 4 people but everything cooked brilliantly, can tell they only source the freshest of ingredients. All washed down with a pint of Efes. Can’t fault the place.

Sultan Resturant is a beautiful restaurant in Crosby serving traditional Turkish cusian excellent fresh food, great service really friendly staff, delicious food and fantastic cocktails definitely recommend to visit this restaurant⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place really is amazing. The kebabs are the best I have ever tasted and the rice is even better. The cocktails are made to perfection and the staff literally can't do enough for you. We will definitely be going back soon. Do you offer takeaway? If so, I will be eating there weekly .

Came here for my sons 21st birthday, staff were amazing very attentive, we ordered a range of food which all was very nice, the portions here are big. the platters could easily be enough for 4-5 people. the prices are very good and worth every penny. drinks are reasonable. the atmosphere of the place is great and we wish the new owners all the best in making this place a success but judging by our experience this should be no problem lisa paul and family x

We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. We were impressed. Have we lived in the area, we would visit this restaurant more often. We higly recommend it.

First vist to sultan for my daughters birthday. Excellent food with very generous portion sizes. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting here again

Sultan provides a good range of Turkish foods. The portions are very good in size. The early bird menu looks fantastic value but you need to get there for 6pm. The service was prompt and considerate.

Went here to try the early bird, but we were to late. We were ready to leave but the waiter talked us into looking at the menu, he recommended the sharing platter for two. Was we glad we stayed it was fab, first he gave us some warm bread and dips and we ordered a bottle of wine, reasonably priced at 15 pound.then after a short wait out came the platter and it didn't dissapoint, meat eaters feast lamb chops, rib, shish kebab, chicken wings, Adana kebab chicken kebab rice and a mixed salad my husband is renowned for his liking of meats but between us we couldn't finish it all so they let us take home the leftovers. £45 for meal for two with a bottle of wine great value
