The tikka garlic naan was superb. Nice crispy poppadoms. Very tender chicken in the vindaloo, sauce was just right. Egg pilau was very tasty. Great friendly service. Very consistent and reliable.

Excellent food is always delicious we love having food together if we get it from sultan and sit and eat as a family

This is the first time I've bought from here I was very surprised I had chicken byrani and cheese nan it was delicious and would 100% recommend I will def buy again. Keep up the good work I can 100% recommend the sukran special byrani again never fails comes piping hot service is second to none, please give them a try their food is amaizing well done guys on the amaizing food

We placed a £40 order with Sultans Thornaby, as we have multiple times before through there website, after 90 minutes waiting we contacted them, they said it will be five minutes.. Another 20 minutes we contacted them again, they said they haven't had an order for us, although they took the £40 from the bank already, refused a refund and refused to send us food. Never again will I use this takeaway, and I will tell everybody I know not to use them, disgusting customer service, put the phone down on us 3 times, but they still have our money and we have no food. I wouldn't bother if I was you.. zero rating... just to update it's now 3 days later, still no refund, or an apology from Sultans. Update. Its now 3 weeks since ordering, and paying for food that we never recieved. Tried to contact Sultans numerous times, still no refund, no explanation. Avoid...

Normally great but my poppadoms were soft and not fresh probably wouldn't order again

I spoke to a lovely gentleman, who went out of his way to accommodate me in some of my requests while ordering a takeaway Even changing his chicken Malayan recipe slightly for me with a pleasant helpful un offended manner. A very pleasant experience from start to finish and I will look forward to returning in the future

Last night, I decided to treat myself to a takeaway from Sultan Indian in Thornaby, and I must say, I was not disappointed. Opting for a lamb madras, I was impressed by its authenticity and the rich layers of flavor that greeted me with each bite. Although I personally would have preferred a bit more spice, it still easily ranks as one of the best madras dishes I've had, deserving a solid 9.5/10. The staff at Sultan are commendable; they exude warmth and friendliness whenever you step inside. Their customer service extends to their delivery as well, which for me, has always been on time. The delivery driver is always smiling, enhancing the overall experience. If you're in Thornaby and craving Indian cuisine, Sultan Indian Takeaway should definitely be on your list. Excellent food coupled with stellar service - they've got you covered!

Stopped for a quick pick up of food. Got biryani and daal with some fresh naan bread. Very tasty and good service

Food was spot on asked them to add some extra meat to my biryani and they only charged me a quid.

I would recommend Mangala Special and the stuffed paratha. Great, friendly service. Will be going back again!!!

A hour and thirty minutes and they still haven't made food after stating it will be 5 mins, absolute cowboys and dont even deserve to be open! You've been warned good luck because use need it.

Usually swear by this place and have frequently ordered for a long time. In recent orders the quality has been erratic today when choosing to complain we were informed it's due to a change of chef. Will not be returning again after such a poor quality meal, new chef needs to improve quickly or can see him driving away business in herds. An hour and 40 mins for a meal of pure disappointment.

My favourite takeaway i have had yet another amazing meal from this great place staff taking orders are brilliant and will make recommendations if your unsure about what to eat. The food is cooked to perfection and delivered hot by very polite happy delivery drivers oh my taste buds are still exploding thank you for everything very very good value for money will order again soon

This take away is authentic so don't expect the meals to be same as restaurants that arnt . Its like home made baking compared to a bakery. I am well experienced into Indian food good and bad and this is a good one for the money and taste..

Outstanding our first time but not the last main courses side dish rice and Nan breads all had a great blend of flavors,delicate and rich we're in Oxbridge and the food was piping hot.Thank you Sultan take away ,your highly recommend

Edit. 70p for 1 popadom is just greedy Main, rice, 2 garlic breads is 18 pound

Baffled by some of the reviews on here, unless it has changed a lot recently. It is currently our choice for indian takeaway in the area, for the last 5 or 6 times. Food has been excellent every time, red hot too. Allow the hour for delivery but in our view it is well worth it. Love it!

Waited 2hrs 30 mins no nan bread starter that was ordered was cold and the curry was tasteless could of done better with a jar of pataks in about 30mins

This must be the worst take away in Thornaby. I orded a beef curry absolutely disgusting more water than sauce. Chips or should say crisps were stone cold. Will not be using this take away again. Roll on normality can start using my regular take away on westbury st. THE FOOD Pantry

Terrible experience police involved threatening customers, never ever go back ! Wouldn't ever reccomend to anyone, please save your house because the delivery drivers are g.....sters keep away from this take away don't even think about trying this take away it ruined my Saturday night meal , we already wasted 1 hour and waiting for delivery and the driver look like on highs and threatens to smash the house if we don't take the cold food. The police knows it all, ask them , it has been already reported and recorded. The gentleman on reception lying that the delivery driver is not back from half and hour even though the same shouting noise is in the background and the man on the phone said the driver never came back my neighbors are disturbed the way he was shouting on us , THANK GOD WE HAVE CCT CAMERA RECORED 24/7 !! Pls keep away from this take way.
