Suizen's Noodle Bar 广东楼 in Birmingham

Family run business serving authentic Chinese food. Western's may find it quite rich if compare with an average Chinese take away but if you looking for bold flavours, good service and atmosphere this is the place to go, right next to Aldi. Can get busy but you can always order to takeaway. 100% recomended, try it if around.

Very reasonably priced, generous portions and wide selection of food.

Honestly one of the best-tasting Chinese restaurants and I highly recommend that you give this place a shot. However, they will only accept cash but that's okay since they are pretty cheap and the portion is large. It is not the resturant that you call "classy" but it's still feels comfortable to stay and eat.

Strangely, I ordered a set meal for two, which included a meal and water. Since my wife wanted to eat together, I asked the clerk for a set of cutlery, but at this time the clerk actually said it was for two people. You can’t give water for one meal! This business strategy is really incredible.

I have been this place today for dinner for the first time, and i ordered 3 dishes, but there was a tiny bug on one of the dishes. I AM WRITING THIS NOT MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE BUG, BUT DUE TO THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE FOR THE CUSTOMER. At first, I just grabbed it with a napkin and moved it away, then I wanted to let them know. In the meantime, I didn't know where it came from, but when I told an old lady who works there and showed her a bug, she seemed she didn't care of it at all, literally didn't feel sorry or give any attitude to sort it out. Then she was just constantly saying "change it, change it". I mean I could understand she probably was not good at English, although I did not feel happy because of her attitude afterwards. I would have been chilled and just left it if she was being kind and nice. So I wanted to get refunded the dish which had a tiny bug, I mean the rest of 2 dishes were okey, obviously I was happy to pay them. However, she was ignoring me and did not want to communicate with me, and just constantly saying "change it, give a new one, and no refund." She was not giving me the reason or any other words. Well, I did not want to make a big trouble and did not want to make it worse, but her attitude was not professional at all. The lady ended up refunded the dish I wanted after a lil arguments, but the FUNNY THING is that she was TAKING PICTURES OR VIDEOS WHATEVER of us from back while we were eating after the argument (the other who went to the restaurant told me) and when I was arguing with her, she also took a picture in front of me, even though I told her to not to take a picture. Then I asked her why did you take? But she just ignored me and said "I no speak English" which was really frustrating. I don't know if she knows that it's illegal if she takes a picture of someone who doesn't want and also if I want her delete a picture, she MUST DELETE them but I don't think she did. But I have paid rest foods anyway so I didn't want to care much either, so we left afterwards. I don't know what's she gonna do with my pictures but yeh I don't know if I did really wrong.

Super tasty food, and great portions - especially for the price. Highly recommend their Satay combo with egg noodles. Prawn crisps with every order!

I would not recommend this place. Was good up until the price hike. Understandable, but customer service and food quality is not good no more. Got their special fried rice and singapore fried rice, which is meant to come with a variety of meats such as beef, chicken, char siu and prawn. Special fried rice was extremely SALTY. THEY ONLY GIVE YOU ONE PRAWN, YES ONE PRAWN IN EACH DISH. First time, thought it was a fluke, but no, they do each deliberately. Also, I had quite a hefty order spending over £20, and I asked the old lady for a extra career bag for the food not fall lest the bag break. SHE SAID NO, after spending that amount in her store, you would think a extra bag is nothing. Absolutely poor. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXCELLENT! Best chinese restaurant in Selly Oak. I've recommended this place to 9 people and they all agree it's a great takeaway restaurant. They only take cash but it's worth the price and not too expensive. They've got a selection of authentic dishes and their service is good. Especially the lady at the back (a cook) she always wears a hat, very welcoming and happy. Minimal english but she does her best to please and meet your needs. I've been eating her for 4 years and the standards have not dropped. They close at 10pm not 10:15pm. But to be on the safe side get there before 9:30pm as they disengage their phone line at 9:20pm. Its opposite Aldi.

Good food for reasonable price. I've been there with my family once and will be going there every time we want Chinese etc. Food was served fast as well which is a bonus.

Amazing food. Food was served very quickly, but didn't compromise on quality. This place is a hidden gem. Staff are very friendly, Jack is a very hospitable host. Almost feel like not sharing this place so I can keep it to myself.

There's just no other Chinese restaurant that can match Suizens both in price and in taste. Huge portion sizes if eating in the restaurant.

The customer service was a bit off but it was the end of the day it is understandable. The food is really tasty though.

Amazing combo deals. £5.50 for any meat including duck or prawns and a selection of sauces with any rice/noodles. Huge portions and generous with meat. Very filling. Nice place to sit in and eat on a student budget.

We have gone here a handful of times now. Theyve got an extensive menu. We just cant get enough of the Crispy Duck Rice, Beef Hofan with is stif fried slide beef and flat rice noodles. The portions are huge. The spicy udon noodles are yummy as well.

My favourite small family Chinese eatery. Inexpensive and tasty meals. A la carte or simple combo.meals. Service is also not time wasting. On the whole great.

As a native chinese i must say it is hard to tell what kind of cuisine it is, it serves all major cuisines and the taste is like a little bit mix-up. But it is my favorite Chinese restaurant in UK. All dishes in the menu worth a try and it is definitely of the best value of your money. So cheap, quick, delicious, in a generous proportion. I probably would not eat out frequently if Suizen was no longer there.

The food here is really good especially the chicken fried rice. The con is that it's a bit expensive compared with other chinese restaurants and you'll get charged an extra 10% for eating in the Bar. The good thing is that you can always buy and take it away :)
