Went for the first time for my friends birthday- they were extremely accommodating- even sang for her which was so thoughtful. Food was so delicious and atmosphere was extremely lively. Will definitely be coming back 😌

We wanted to experience some authentic West African food, and we weren't disappointed. We had the Jollof rice, and we enjoyed every mouthful. The service was friendly and relaxed. If in the area, we'd happily eat here again.

The foods were so amazing especially the fried yam and chicken served with dundu taste sauce. You needs to go on an empty stomach in order maximize your satisfaction. First time my Kids going to an African restaurant in UK and they would like to have the experience again and again

The Sugarcane restaurant Glasgow is a place to visit, the ambience, service and their traditional Nigerian food is a top-notch taste, the owners are very welcoming with good smile, their great hygiene is a delight. I was there with my family for one of my daughters’ birthday and they all loved the food, I couldn’t even find anything to complain. I also personally like that the waiting time was less than 15min for the quality meal. If you live or visiting family in Glasgow try this place. Ola

As a party location, Sugarcane African Restaurant & Bar exceeded all expectations. The private event space was perfect for our gathering, offering just the right mix of privacy and openness. The team helped us coordinate from the food to the music, making the celebration seamless and stress-free. The restaurant also have a projector available, perfect to display pictures and videos during the event. The food was absolutely delicious and the quantity was great too. We had plenty to eat in and takeaway. I highly recommend Sugarcane African Restaurant & Bar for any occasion—whether it’s a special event, a night out with friends, or just a great dinner. They truly go above and beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable experience!

Although the food is really nice, for the quantity the price is not reasonable. The plantain wasn’t juicy enough making me know that it was a green banana before being cooked. The rice was very rubbery making it taste not fresh so I could tell it was pre cooked. Wish there was more meat options for the tomatoes sauce. Packaging was very low standards wish it got served in a proper take out conga er and bag. Besides that loved it. Just rather I could order the sauce on its own without rice.

Very attentive staff without much intrusion and made excellent recommendations tailored to our tastes. Despite being very busy, the staff made us feel like VIPs throughout, ensuring every detail was perfect! We could request any song we wanted to listen to. The ambient lightning created an elegant setting and with its African inspired decor and lively energy, the restaurant felt both chic and welcoming! We legit went back 2 nights in a row! 🫢🙃 This restaurant is a MUST VISIT for anyone craving exceptional African cuisine and top notch hospitality! I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu! I recently visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience with the food. The fufu was absolutely delicious, and the flavors were authentic and satisfying. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the place was very clean, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The only downside was the loud music coming from a party downstairs. It was so loud that it became overbearing and slightly affected our ability to fully enjoy the meal. I’m not sure if there’s a door they could close to minimize the noise, but it’s something to keep in mind for a quieter dining experience. Overall, the food and service were exceptional, and I would still recommend it, especially for the amazing fufu! PS: I had egusi soup with meat! Edit extra: they did reply very kindly and another thing that I meant to bring up because I opened it when I got home finally and I think there was a misunderstanding. I had some meat set aside because it was too hot to eat from the bowl, and when my food was packed, it didn’t make it into the container. I was really looking forward to it. Is there any way you could add two extra pieces the next time I come in to make up for it?”

Yesterday was my wedding Anniversary and i am so glad we made Sugarcane a choice place to spend the evening. i loved the atmosphere. We had a very god service and the food was very tasty and very generous portion sizes according to my daughter..lol To top it all up we got a wee surprise from them. A cake to celebrate our anniversary. That was so thoughtful and i will always cherish that moment. Will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone.

We had our school's end-of-year celebration here, and I can say that it was a wonderfully memorable event with freshly prepared food and a spot-on DJ. I will definitely be back.

Owner offered my sweetheart a space heater because she was cold, overall 5 star service, 5 star food and a really nice restaurant. Good music and atmosphere. Will come back again.

I’m so glad I made the decision to order from Sugarcane restaurant. I ordered the big tilapia and substituted yam/plantain for jollof rice. Everything was finger licking good.

the meal had excess oil in it.... not properly prepared

I have now been to sugarcane a number of times now. I find that it's busier on a Saturday evening than a Friday for some reason. The ambience is good compared to other Nigerian and African lounges in Glasgow. Very neat toilets too. Food is also good.. I think what they need to do now is maximize this place. It's got serious potential. They need to get it very busy on a Friday. Lastly they can do better with always having everything on the menu. On one occasion they could only offer 3 nkwobi and we were 4. Certainly this place can do better. In all. I'll go back and would recommend.

I went there with a friend and we had isi ewu and grilled tilapia. The fish was so big and Isi ewu to my surprise very nice too. I would certainly recommend. 5 star is an understatement

Good food and quality was okay too

Portions are big and the owner is very friendly and helpful. Food was average- had chicken with rice, rice was 2/3 of the plate, the other was a chicken leg sadly cooked to death. Reading the other reviews, must have been a bad choice with the chicken. Restaurant was very cold as well.

Ordered here last night on Deliveroo and the food was absolutely fantastic .. would definitely order again . I had efo riro and pounded yam and also the chicken with with jollof came with fresh salad absolutely gorgeous food

Owners now pretending to be someone else now to save there own back absolutly laughable you where seen buy the whole street and blocked it off stop acting like a victim and apologise for your disgusting behaviour 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The staff in this premises are absolutly horrible people they causd and absolut uproar blocking the whole street off so no one can move screaming at me to move my car I politely told this lady that I could not see that she was trying to get in to that space as I apologise and asked her to move and let me out she continued the scream she was the manager and she needed to unload her car at her shop I continued to apologise to her as she was still blocking me in screaming in my face rude and arogant dose not explain it please beware of parking near the premises as the owners own the street people came out of other shops and couldn't believe the way you where acting and trying to act like you are someone else when it says clearly the owners replied you are hilarious

never eaten any sort of African cousine before, but was warmly welcomed in and waiters explained the entire menu for us patiently. we got the special of fish and it was absolutely divine. amazing waiters, amazing food.

I am not pleased with my order as I receive a wrong order. I phoned the shop about it and i was asked to bin the food as I couldn't eat it. I will not ordering again because for food that costs as much as this, customer service and satisfaction should be paramount.

I went to sugarcane restaurant with my Scottish friend. We ordered ogbonor with pounded yam and Asun. The portion was more than i expected, the food was very tasty and delicious, well seasoned . My Scottish friend asked to see the chef😂 because he really enjoyed it. The settings was nice and clean, the price is quite affordable, everything goes 10/10 for me. Weldone

My first experience of Nigerian food, and it was absolutely fantastic. Portion sizes very good. We had Tilapia, Jollof Rice and Ocra Soup. It was amazing. Emekas was so friendly and welcoming, and very helpful with explaining the menu to us. Will definitely be going back there again. 10/10

I didn't expect to find a Nigerian/African restaurant in this environment serving standard African meals nicely dished and with regular drinks. I was there with friend, so the place lit up with lots of people. Bar and the top, disco, club light, and food downstairs. Some on-street parking. Lovely experience in general

Had a wonderful time at this amazing Restaurant. Has a ground floor and basement floor, well packaged and neat. Food is 100% fresh and Nigerian. The service is great and the staff is attentive and respectful. I will definitely return any time I’m in Glasgow.

I was wowed when I got in, sugarcane actually beat my expectations, I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, staffs were very nice and attentive. I enjoyed the isiewu hmmm yummy it’s the best I’ve had in a long time. The Jollof rice was well garnished with salad and plantain, it was well served, highly professional. I would recommend Sugarcane over and over again.

The food was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. In general, the service provided was satisfactory.
