Absolutely wonderful. 1st time trying. Chilli beef - 10/10, fish cake hubby says 5/10 but he’s not really a spice man, veg stir fry 10/10. We will be back Janet. Suffield

We came here with friends although i've never been before. Everyone seemed to be trying too much. Style over everything else. I though the food was average in its entirity. Our friends come here alot but I dont think we would venture here again. Not for us.

What a let down!!! Cold Yorkshire’s replaces by more cold Yorkshire’s! 5 of us & not 1 finished their meal. Absolutely terrible. Table opposite us with same issues. The fact that it was only us 2 tables said a lot! Special birthday meal ruined! Travelled far and was not worth it at all. DONT GO HETE FOR A MEAL!

Restaurant was empty, yet the service took just short of 1.5hrs. Chicken was very overcooked!.In the 1.5hrs we were there, we weren't asked if we needed a drink once! Will never return.

Visited this place for a dinner with colleagues and friends. Service and drinks were so good though a bit pricy. Food was a bit average. Nevertheless we had so much fun. It was definitely worth a visit.

I thought the decor was really nice, very modern and fashionable. The food was presented beautifully and it tasted just as good, service was efficient. And it was good value, only thing that wasn’t so good was the garlic bread! I would defo go back

Great Sunday Roast - service good and atmosphere excellent - only downside is drinks are more expensive than other nearby restuarants.

We went to the Sugar Hut for my nieces 21st birthday recently, the food was quite nice and the service was good as well. We were all very surprised to see that the restaurant was empty, we only saw around another 3 tables the whole night and the price of the food and drinks in comparison to other places around the area were high. We had to pre-order our meal because there was 15 of us, which isn't a problem but the restaurant forgot one of the main meals an she ended up eating separately from our party. The restaurant did give her main meal for free which was good.

Honestly the worst meal experience I have ever had and I wish that was an exaggeration. Starters were inedible, main meals were tasteless and didn’t have 3 different options (only 10 options on the menu). No atmosphere at all! I felt sorry for the poor waiters as they were embarrassed by what they were having to say. The manager was useless! Then got to the end of the meal and we were told you have to walk to a cash point as can’t take card. Whole thing was awful. Tasteless waste of our time. There are many better options in Brentwood high street then this.

Had Sunday lunch with my friends and aunties today. It was lovely sitting out on the patiio in the sun having a selection of amzing fresh olives and breads, washed doen with a nice cool glass of wine. We then sat in the restaurant for our Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was calm and decor lovely with fun pink pieces of furniture. The food was excellent, great choice and presented beautifully. The trio of mini desserts with tea or coffee were just right after a lovely meal. The staff were very friendly but we would like to say a specil thank you to Cameron who was not only professional but friendly and fun.

Went for my daughters birthday as reviews were over 4. Don’t believe what you read. Three mains had run out. Sunday roast only chicken. Food poor. Triple cooked chips were more like McDonalds chips. Then to top it all couldn’t pay by card so had to go and find a cash machine. Manager couldn’t have given a monkeys. Certainly won’t be going back. Shepherd and Dog far superior 😥😡

After 1 hour of waiting, no atmosphere and only listening to the sounds of the servers talking, I was served my food on the most disgusting, greasy, stained plates! The food was dumped on the table and then the servers walked out. Did not ask if we would like more sauce etc. Had to get up and walk to the front bar to ask for sauce and another jug on water. We weren’t even asked if our meal was okay, it wasn’t until the end of the meal when our plates were cleared that I informed them of the state of our meal. Served lunch on Saturday 29th September 2018. Please avoid, wish we went Nando’s.

I’ve never watched Towie as my husband & I ate in our 30’s & 40’s and to be honest that sort of television is not at all our cup of tea, but we live in the Hutton area and fancied a decent steak one weekend so thought give it a try.

Booked for surprise for my granddaughters birthday as she is mad on towie .we came a long way to visit sugar hut for lunch. The place had no atmosphere the staff were ok but never went out of there way to welcome us or make it special for her birthday .even thou there were only 2 more tables eating we had to wait over an hour for our food. We ordered 4 chicken breast stacks we got chicken thighs instead of breasts .we all hate chicken on bones .the waiter said it was the chefs fault not his .but if we were told they had no chick breasts we would have ordered something else .The place itself has no atmosphere staff are boring .I did wonder why it was so empty I would not recommend it to anyone we might as well took her to nando.s at home .

Friend and I visited first time to the Sugar Hut seen on Only way is Essex. What a disappointed. Hardly anyone in the restaurant no atmosphere at all and the food was very poor quality and pricey for what we had. Would not recommend anyone to go as there is much better restaurants out there at lower costs too. Very over rated.

Very lovely interior and extremely friendly staff with amazing food. You’re never pushed out or in a rush, you can relax as long as you like which is perfect for my date nights with my partner. Not a bad word to say!

Visited Sugar Hut yesterday with friends 17/8. Had lunch here many times and always been happy. Not this time

Had lunch at the Sugar Hut, could not fault the standard of the service and the food. Had all of the facilties needed to cater for the family.

We went to Sugar Hut for a bite to eat on Sunday afternoon. Considering there was only one other table of people dining in the restaurant at the time, we found our service to be really bad - the two waiting staff were more attentive to the other larger table (there were only two of us) and so we found ourselves having to actively ask for things rather than having a table service.

So me and my wife went for a meal here as we are leaving Brentwood soon and she wanted to try the food here due to Towie. The food did look nice and I agreed to go. We went for a Bottle of prosecco between us (£30, expensive in my eyes), 2 starters which we shared (Chicken Gujons and Beef meatballs) both were superb. The chicken was as lovely and fresh along with the meatballs. Then my wife went for a chicken Sunday dinner and I went for the beef Sunday dinner. I did appreciate being asked how I would like my beef cooked, it all arrived in a speedy manner and the food was beautiful. The only think stopping 5* rating is the price of a bottle of prosseco... £30 when I could go to the local Sainsburys and buy one as nice for £10. Apart from that I would highly recommend and we will be returning before we leave.

We went to the sugar hut restaurant before going onto our VIP Table in the sugar hut club. We were a Hen Party of seven and can honestly say it was a wonderful evening. The staff were so accommodating and attentive without being pushy. Massive thank you to our server Cameron who is a credit to your restaurant . He made our night. Not only is he Hilarious but excellent at his Job! The food was lovely and was served quickly. Would definitely recommend

Not a massive menu but an appealing one. Quiet despite being Saturday night but absolutely amazing friendly and brilliant customer service throughout from the manager and Cameron who is hilarious. Also very tasty food indeed.

It was our yearly visit to Essex so we visited the Sugarhut again. Once again it did not disappoint and we were blown away with the presentation and taste of the food! The two guys serving yesterday (Sunday 24th) were great, very attentive and pleasant- even if they did give a way love island spoilers!

What can I say . The food was out of this world and we had a waiter called Cameron and he made our visit. It was my friends 30th birthday and her pudding came out with a candle in and they wrote happy birthday on her plate . Would defo come back again. There were a few loud people in there but the manager shut them right up lol. AMAZING

We all know Sugar Hut due to TOWIE, therefore we all have a pre-conception if we've never been. I was super excited for lunch here a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint. Interior decor was lovely and comfortable. Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating - doing well to adhere to dietary requirements or wishes of amends to dishes, such as 'no onion, no tomato..' etc etc. Quite pricey for a lunchtime meal, however we all knew that before going so not a big deal. Loved it!

Popped in for lunch and coffee. A lot smaller inside than I had imagined but still nice. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Service very good and food came out lovely and hot. We will definitely be back as we enjoyed ourselves.

Our meal was nothing special, I had the Prawn Linguine which was nice. We ordered two bottles of white wine which we had to send back as they were not chilled. At one point during our meal Gemma Collins turned up to do some filming for her TV programme and we were made to feel less important and told that we can't get in the way even though we are paying customers and I'm guessing hers was free! The only memorable thing about our meal and that made our night was our waitress Georgia. She was absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Really good service and food. Walked in and was taken instantly to our table. Both drinks and food came in good time. Really relaxed atmosphere, would recommend to all. Very reasonably priced as well. Service charge is included.

So we went to Brentwood for my friends 30th and ended up in sugar hut after checking out the shops. I must say the cocktails were amazing and the pulled pork and Cheese chips were delicious! So cheap as well and lovely atmosphere. We were lucky enough to have nice weather so sat outside. Staff were so accommodating. We didn’t go here at night but I’m sure it’s a good night out x

Me and a group of friends recently went to the sugar hut restaraunt for a few cocktails and some lunch. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, willing to do what ever they could to help and make sure we were all comfortable. The cocktails were out of this world! The bar staff were such fun and made my friend a special mock tail as she wasn’t drinking! The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing ! Cannot wait to return

On a cold wet January midweek night in far flung southern Essex we were struggling to find a last minute venue to take our 20 year old daughter for a surprise birthday dinner. In the end it was with some trepidation that I decided to make my decision based on a TV program I'd never watched, and our daughter's love of all things entertainment related.

I was a little bit sceptical after readying some of the other reviews but we went ahead and had our team's Christmas meal at the Sugar Hut. It was surprisingly quiet bearing in mind how close to Christmas it was, but the food was delicious and enormous portions too! We were all very impressed and would return again.

Due to no response from my email to the manager, I feel I should leave this review. We've had two Christmas parties here, the first I had issues with staff leaving on the run up to the event but in the end it did end up being a good night thanks to a lovely member of staff called Adam, who sadly left afterwards. This year we had a Christmas work event booked here two months in advance, so I was confident that was more than enough time to insure the night ran smoothly. Clearly not...

We stopped here for lunch on a Friday and surprisingly the place was quiet. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the bar staff were polite. We ordered food / drinks and in fairness the food was very good, although waiting 35 minutes for sandwiches and chips is ridiculous!

Our food was good and the decor lovely. Unfortunately the restaurant was freezing cold and we were told nothing could be done about this (AC off, no heating, no doors open). The atmosphere was ruined by the thumping music from the club upstairs. The waiting staff suffered from a lack of training, experience and supervision. This ruined our experience. They stood around the bar area chatting, and admitted to having no idea which table they were supposed to be taking our drinks to. Attempted to pour prosecco into wine glasses. Food came out at different times due to their mistake in our order - went cold waiting. Overall need to get a better heating control system and better trained staff.

We enjoyed our meal. Lovely burger with good quality meat. The steak also looked good. We didn't have desserts.The young bar and restaurant staff are in need of a bit of steering. It's not their fault: it's a management issue. You can't expect a 14 year old girl to look after a restaurant professionally without adequate training in the basics; courtesy, attentiveness and attention to detail. The wine took a long time to arrive after ordering. And then the bottle was brought to the table already open. It was red, and we were asked if we wanted a cooler!? No steak knife brought with meal, however luckily we were given an early food check so we were able to get the steak knife ok, and apologies were made. I'm sure the girl will make an excellent waitress in time.

This is definitely the best sunday roast my partner and I have had (and we've tried a lot). The meat was cooked exactly how I asked for which was surprisingly. The chef clearly did not get funny about cooking it well done and it was perfect for me. The gravy is incredible and of course the yorkshire pudding just tops it all off! The pudding was fantastic aswell- well presented and good taste. Wish we lived closer so we could come more often.

We booked a table here for our 2nd year anniversary meal, the service was ok. There was quite a lot of young people working and wasn't really interested in making a conversation, more interested in the gossip of their colleagues. The food was lovely, we both had steak (which I highly recommend) it was lush. Really good price for what we had... We stayed and had 4 cocktails each at the bar as the boy serving and making cocktails was really lovely and made us feel very welcome, we made sure he had a tip as he deserved it. We enjoyed our evening, I just wish people would be more welcoming and give a bit more customer service, we were looking forward to coming to Essex for a while and it was bit of an anticlimax.

There was 40 of us for my little cousins 16th. We all had the set meal for £20 which I thought was good as steak was one of the options. I wasn't expecting much but the food was lovely. My lobster was a bit on the small side but my husbands steak was a great size. The staff was very friendly & make everyone feel welcome including my 4 year old nephew. Would defo go back :-)

Came for lunch which was nice, cocktails were lovely and also created a mocktail for my friends daughter...special thanks to Cameron who was welcoming on arrival and really took care of us and also gave us a tour, a real asset to the place.

From 7pm when we our family group of 5 people were offered a table in a semicircular pink upholstered booth through to coffee at 9.30pm we all had a lovely time. The menu suited everyone, steak & chips, duck breast and noodles and lobster brioche, for mains and very beautifully presented desserts. Chicken wings starter was a bit messy but enjoyable. Good prompt service. Back in March, I had won an auction for a voucher for meal for 4 kindly donated by Sugar Hut to the Mayor of Basildon's charity dinner and this spurred us to book an evening at the venue. So not only did we have an excellent evening but the auction proceeds had gone to help the Mayor's charity campaign to help the children's ward at Basildon hospital.

Had steak and a passion fruit cheesecake for dessert and it was all amazing! Can't fault the food whatsoever. However, the waitresses and waiters were not very good, didn't get asked for a drink for 20 minutes after being seated and then had to keep asking for more drinks when they passed by us. The food took a long time to come out and then we were just left and no one came to clear our plates or ask if we wanted desserts so again I had to ask one of the waiters for the menu when they passed by us. One of them served us and 5 mins later another one came to ask for our order. Huge lack of organisation and everyone seemed so inexperienced which wasn't what we were expecting at all! The restaurant was only half full and I don't think I'll be going back. The 10% service charge was definitely not deserved!

We went for a roast dinner as there is live music on a Sunday . The roast was lovely. Inside the venue is nice and the live music was good and fitted the vibe of the venue. We had our 2 year old son who was able to run around and play so it was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Would recommend.

Visited here for my father in laws 70th bday and had a lovely meal, the restaurant/bar was nicely set out staff friendly and helpful. Food was really nice

Went there for a birthday meals last Friday evening. Restaurant decor are modern, staff smart uniform look nice, restaurant seem quite not full pack.Group of us had a set menu for 2 courses meal, I had a steak and lemon meringue pie but there was no lemon in it at all more like pastry and meringue pie that's all seem like they have forget add lemon in and pastry are hard to cut so gave up half way through with lemon meringue pie.Our group had declious about 2 inches deep cheesecake and hot thick brownies.Ladies toilet are clean.Had a glass of rose wine cost about £7 in my opinion bit pricey and afterwards stick with free tap water jug.Lovely time and lovely staff.

Where do I begin? We were visiting Brentwood as our daughters watch Towie so they wanted to visit the area, We were all so excited to be at the sugar hut! But boy did we come to earth with a bump. We had a feeling all was not what it should be, when there were only 3 other tables occupied and it took them approx 20 minutes to bring our drinks. We waited and waited and waited for our food ( which were 3 duck salads and a Tuna Niscoise) after 40 minutes we asked the waiter where our food was, as we were now hungry and in a hurry, we didn't want to be in one place the whole day! The waiter apologised and went to find out what was going on, at the same time apologised for not telling us previously that the food would be a while. He came out after 5 mins later with the meals. The duck salads were not crispy and very fatty and all different sizes. The tuna niscoise did not have any egg on as it stated on menu and all in all very drab. We left very disappointed and would not recommend this place for food at all. If they were busy it would explain a lot but 4 tables ?? No. No. No.

Sorry to say we did not have a good experience going for a meal they did not have any T Bone steaks or carrots they tried to make up with an additional steak FOCand then tried to charge us for the steak and the T bone they did not have ruined our night as the wife is a Towie fan

We have friends staying with us and decided to treat them as they are big TOWIE fans to a trip to Brentwood and lunch at the Sugar Hut. We drove the hour and a half to Brentwood, came into the restaurant a little earlier then our reservation and approached the waitress to inform her we had arrived. She wasn't at all interested in our reservation but promptly gave us a choice of tables to sit at. We opted for a table and chairs rather then a booth as personally I find this awkward to eat in, I prefer to sit at a proper table and chairs. The choice of food on the menu is somewhat limited, however we ordered drinks and our meals and waited patiently. Due to us chatting away with our friends we completely lost track of time, so am unsure how long the food took to be served. I ordered a completely plain chicken burger (as I totally dislike onion). Other meals ordered were Steak, lobster and a beef burger. The food came out well presented and the waitress popped back over within five minutes to see if we were enjoying our meal, and in total honesty due to the chatter we had barely started our meals. Well as I got into my meal I found my 'plain' chicken burger had the bottom bun smothered with caramelised onions, I tried to eat around it but the taste had spread to everything else rendering my meal inedible to me. As the waitress passed (only two other tables were dining) I informed her of the problem and that I couldn't eat my meal. She replied with an "ok" and wandered off again. I thought that maybe she would return of an offer of replacing the incorrect meal I'd been served with or asking if I'd like an alternative, this never happened. This I class as incredibly poor service. After everyone else had finished eating our waitress reappeared and asked if we'd finished and would we like pudding. I pointed out to her that I'd not even had my main course yet, and she merely said "I thought you had finished". Clearly the waitress either did not take on board what I had explained to her about my meal or she chose to ignore it. The manager (who actually took my order) appeared and said there must have been some confusion over my order (I think completely plain is a good indication as to what I'd ordered). Anyway he offered me a free drink by way of compensation or a pudding, I thought the pudding was a better option as I'd still not eaten. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was presented beautifully, others had the chocolate brownie, which we were all convinced was actually some form of chocolate cake. Upon presentation of the bill, my burger had been removed from the bill and my pudding was gratis, unfortunately they still charged me £3.50 for the portion of chips I'd ordered which I'd not eaten and also including the 'optional' 10% service charge. At this point I did not wish to cause any more embarrassment for myself or my guests by having to challenge them again over paying for a service that was quite poor on the waitresses part. We paid the bill and left quite promptly. Overall, as others have pointed out on trip advisor, the service is somewhat to be desired and is only rectified when the manager becomes involved. A burger and chips will cost around £12 which is average cost. Personally and quite sadly I wouldn't visit this restaurant again. What was meant to be a pleasurable lunch turned into disappointment and embarrassment.

Never again... food was average. Service average (just) . Decor a bit dull. Not for me!!! As I walks pass the place, I never see many people in there. Perhaps it will close down and give something better a chance.

Visited for just a coffee. Sat outside in the Courtyard.Novel chairs, tucked into the tables. Decorated nicely.Coffee was very good,nice touch of a Sugar Hut chocolate.Service was excellent.

Girls night out so good food and plenty drinus in order. This place didn't disappoint. Food was great if limited in choice and tad expensive. But the cocktails made up for it. Great selection and very reasonably priced.

After a weekend of exhausting birthday parties (my daughter and niece) we were looking for a venue for 10 for Sunday lunch and the Sugar Hut restaurant certainly delivered a real treat! We were a group of young children and grown ups and all were catered for. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was fantastic! Between us we had a variety of starters, all excellent and most of us had the roast beef which was delicious and plentiful. The Yorkshire pudding was outstanding and is worth a visit just to try lol! My sister in law's brother has decided he wants to travel from West London just to try it!!! I am still dreaming about the passion fruit and champagne cheesecake which was stunning and I would have happily taken a bath in it haha! I would also advise taking a cab if you can as the cocktails were beautifully presented and very morish. If you think you will be faced with a "TOWIE" atmosphere we found that was not the case at all. Lovely decor, great welcoming atmosphere and staff and families having Sunday lunch. I'm not a great one for singers whilst I'm eating but wow the lady that was singing last Sunday afternoon was incredible. It wasn't to loud and she has a fabulous voice. Definitely worth a try for an extra special Sunday lunch :-)

I had organised a hen night - restaurant and club - for a friend and everyone has an excellent night. There was some confusion with the pre order as the menus had recently changed but nothing was a problem for Adam and his staff. The food was excellent, and the service speedy and friendly. Had a fantastic night - anyone looking for a great night out in Brentwood would not be disappointed.

Would strongly recommend avoiding.Although restaurant wasn't busy at all (only 4 tables were being used) the service was really slow & waitresses were not attentive.The food was average yet totally over priced. Same applies for cocktails (I believe that you can tell a good cocktail bar from a poor one when trying their Old Fashioned).Service charge is automatically added on. When I requested that it be removed so that I can leave my own tip due to the meal being expensed for business, the waitress questioned why.

The restaurant the food was over cooked, I had lamb chops, they were so hard I could not even cut them. club is terrible full of 18 year olds and totally not glamorous, Would never go there again. So disappointed.

I was here last weekend for some hen party drinks. The management were very accommodating and gave great service. The bar staff were very attentive and made up some lovely cocktails (would recommend the Bramble, my friends raved about the Gin Fizzes) the bar is nicely decorated and has some fab and comfy pink sofas.

This was my first time at the Sugar Hut and had heard a lot about it and wasn't sure what to expect but had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch along with three friends. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the food was very good. The menu at lunch was not very extensive but nevertheless was varied and there was something for everyone. The decor is very tasteful and comfortable seating. Would definitely like to return.

What a gem of a place, in the heart of Brentwood. We'd been shopping, and shopping some more, and wanted a friendly, relaxed place to have a rest while we gathered energy for further shopping. We hadn't been before but it looked comfortable through the window and the menu looked inviting. A great find. Will definitely return.

I love this place, the food is to die for, I have been a number of times and the staff are so polite and helpful, it is a really friendly place, you might spot the odd TOWIE star in there too. My 11 year loves the burgers and I look forward to the different menus throughout the season. Great place for a family birthday if you want that something extra.

Great place to drink , lovely atmosphere , bar staff very friendly and helpful. Prosecco served with a strawberry always a winner and how I enjoy it most. Lovely comfortable furniture - popped in after work for quickie but could happily have stayed there all night just chilling! Highly recommend and will now be my regular :)

Love The Sugar Hut. Myself and family have eaten here several times and have never been dissapointed.The relaxed atmosphere, pleasant staff and fab food are always a delight.Won't find a better chocolate fondant anywhere!

My friend and I popped into Sugar Hut on a rainy Saturday for a quick prosecco. The staff were super friendly and we were seated on some lovely new sofas. Sugar Hut has recently been refurbished and it looks amazing. We were served quickly by a very warm and welcoming waiter and the prices were very reasonable. We didn't eat but other tables were enjoying their meals and the atmosphere was nice and buzzy. I'd definitely go back, either for drinks again or for food next time. Really enjoyed it.

Visited Brentwood on a Friday lunchtime,with my wife and daughter. Staff very welcoming, venue spotlessly clean. Nice roomy restaurant, very light and well decorated. Food and drinks very reasonable priced. I had the burger and smoked salted chips, the girls had a Steak ciabatta, good sized portions of food all very well cooked and presented.

Came here yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day and the food was really enjoyable. Massive Yorkshire pudding which we loved and the chocolate orange brownie was really tasty. Free glass of prosecco and some daffodils for any mums which was a really nice touch. The staff were really friendly and attentive and they were doing two courses for £25 and three for £30 which we found to be really reasonable. I would say we were slightly disappointed with the inferior and decor on a whole as we expected something slightly fancier but our whole experience was really nice. Would love to come again for dinner to try the other food and would be interested to see what the club is like!

Visited here lunchtime. Steady flow of diners , 2 of us had the steak/marmalade panini, one of the best I've had, steak cut into small strips, so easy to eat, tasted great. Other diner had the Burger with smoked fries equally as tasty. Resonantly price 3 meals 4 drinks £51.00Friendly and efficient staff.Highly recommend. Enjoy.

Coming to Brentwood we picked the sugar hut restaurant. Lovely staff, something a bit different but very limited choices in dinner menu and the food was very mediocre. An experience, but a bit disappointing.

Had the best Steak and chips ever, perfectly cooked and at a fair price.There is a really nice bar to have a drink in before and afterwards if you like which is really well decorated in good taste.The staff are friendly and on the ball.

Went for dinner at the Sugar Hut on the 15/3/17. Table of 8 of us. we were the only table in the entire restaurant. The two staff were very polite but were very slow and were more concern with chatting with the young men sat at the bar. We waited over 30 minutes just to order dessert.Apart from that, the food was fabulous, full of flavour, most of us had steaks that were cooked to perfection. The pornstar martinis were fantastic. I will visit here again as the food and drink were so good but hopefully the service will be a lot better.

I treated my friend to a birthday lunch here and she had a lovely day and most of all enjoyed the cocktails! Both the service and atmosphere were great, so will definitely be returning!

My girlfriend and I planed a dinner date. Book the table for 8 but was running late , called and they were very understanding and it wasn't a problem. When we arrived the staff greeted us with friendly smile and took us to table , the manager (Adam) came over introduced himself . He was very friendly , polite and professional !He recommended what was a nice wine and explained the menu. The restaurant itself give you a relaxed feel still with an elegant touch , it wasn't too dark that you could see what you was eating yet not to light that it hurt your eyes like some restaurants, very comfortable and relax atmosphere. The FOOD was amazing and the PRICE was fantastic !!! I had the steak and my girlfriend had the lobster both of which were cooked perfect and the presentation on the plate didn't look like it was just rushed out the kitchen , you could tell the chef to pride in his work. I couldn't believe at the end of the meal how much we had eaten and drank and in a nice atmosphere with nice people and the price was fantastic !!! Cheaper then some takeaways and healthier too. All I can say is thank you to the manager Adam and his staff for making our night out a great experience!!!!!

Visited sugar hut on 11th march, food is amazing, had steak and avocado tacos for starter and for main I had the honey thighs, both courses were lovely and full of flavour but the cocktails are good, I had a pornstar martini and it was the best one I've had, bar staff and waitresses were very polite and attentive.Will defiantly return xThank you sugar hut team

We visited the Sugar Hut on Thursday evening (March 9th) as a group of 5 persons (2 x girls and 3 gents) ,all well-dressed / mid-forties, we had a table booked for 20.45 and duly arrived to be greeted by two doormen who asked us to wait outside while to see if there were any tables free for dinner ! After 5 minutes of being made to wait on the pavement, we were allows in to a restaurant that was empty and had no other diners or tables that were occupied !The menu is limited and not very varied so for starters, I ordered the Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese Balls, I have to say that although they were tasty, I doubt very much that they contained much (if any) lobster unless the chef was confusing lobster for shrimp!For main course, I ordered chicken skewers (with fries) which were fatty and pretty awful, I asked the waitress serving us if we could have some ketchup which duly arrived on a small dish and had already started to congeal / go off, when I pointed out to the waitress that the ketchup was congealing and had a 'skin' on it's surface, she stated that she agreed that it was unsightly and wrong but the management made them serve it like that ! ( I think that what she meant was that to save time, all the ketchup portions were poured into the dish that they intended to serve them in and left on the side in a hot kitchen slowly going off, which is lazy and slack beyond belief) How hard can it be to pour some fresh ketchup from a bottle onto a dish and serve it, I mean seriously, if you can't get the ketchup right, there's no hope for anything else.......The service was average mainly because, she continually interrupted us us while we were in the middle of a conversationI went outside in the courtyard to smoke a cigar, and came across a couple that were arguing together and witnessed the female spitting on the floor.Later after we left the table and were in the car area, I ordered a pint of lemonade which was served in a plastic glass and one of the locals accused us of being 'Old Bill' (the Police)...... which was hilarious but concerning.I've never watched TOWIE properly but I am aware of it, and we certainly didn't visit the Sugar Hut because of the television program, but to be fair, other than the tv program, there is very little to warrant a visit to the Sugar Hut again, it's rough and the food is questionable but reading some of the other reviews, some people might like that sort of thing ! Not Recommended !

After hearing great reviews about the Sugar Hut we had to come and try it for ourselves. Delicious food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. If you are a fan of lobster try the lobster mac and cheese balls starter.As we went on a Friday we got free entrance into their club/cocktail bar which was a bonus. The next time I am in Essex I will definitely be returning to the Sugar Hut.

Great place in Brentwood High Street for lunch or dinner . Nicely decorated restaurant , that has a lovely seating and bar area . The staff are very friendly and food is lovely .

Amazing food here. Especially Sunday roasts. Never disappointed by the service or quality of food and drinks. Lovely staff and great atmosphere! Will be returning for a roast for definite.

I am I resident in Brentwood and often go to the Sugar Hut for lunch or drinks of an evening. The atmosphere is fab and the staff are even better- Always happy to help and give opinions on what their favourite dish/cocktail is. I am always very happy when I visit Sugar Hut and regularly recommend to my friends and family.

Amazing place for a nice meal/casual drink or a good night out. Staff are friendly and helpful in all areas. Service is great and always looking for attention to detail. Plus the cocktails are amazing!

Having taken a trip to Brentwood decided to meet up with friends at the Sugar Hut for lunch. The new refurbishment looks amazing and enjoyed a lovely spot of lunch. Staff were great. Would certainly recommend and will be visiting again soon.

I went to sugar hut with one of my friends, the staff were so lovely and food was amazing. Very good value for money, 2 mains, 2 desert and wine for under £50. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about visiting.

Visited recently for lunch with a friend, had the chicken wings to start delicious. For my main I had steak which was cooked to perfection, requested mash which wasn't on the menu and they happily did it for me. Don't know how I maged it but opted for the chocolate fondant and it was amazing. Can't fault anything here, food service and surroundings are fantastic.

Come here with 8 other girls and had the best time! We had a booth at the back of the restaurant but was certainly not forgotten about, the service was fantastic and importantly for us our wine was topped up regularly! Adam and the team really looked after us. We all choose different meals but said the same - delicious! We wasn't rushed at all, it was such a great atmosphere even after our meal we stayed and had some more drinks. Highly recommend can't wait to go back!
