Was served there this evening by a polite young Asian lady who had mentioned that she has recently started shifts there and she was really amazing with her customer service and made sure to complete my order on time, the sandwiches were delicious and everything was fresh.

After going to the restaurant for tea and queuing for 15 minutes, the server decided to serve someone else that just walked in, no word of apology or checking first. The staff always seem disinterested and not very polite Might seem petty but no longer going to this restaurant out of principle.

Why do we have to wait for an hour from 17.55pm to get a hot drink, there weather is not tired. It is cold, wet and windy abd I can not get a hot drink - disgusting.

So painfully slow. Service and staffing levels have dropped right off in the last year or two. I don't have an hour to queue behind 6 customers, I have a job to do so had to leave and go elsewhere. Perhaps if Sodexo staffed this properly it would help, but that would impact their profits. The hospital should insist on a level of service so their staff have the opportunity to get lunch.

Went to subway on my break around 5am sunday morning,and required about the gf menu, i was told to look at the allergens, which is a laminated card, which the writing is so tiny, especially in the early hours when tired , i saw they had omlettes but then told I couldn't have omelette without bread??so had hash browns, I was served after another customer who had a baguette, I informed the staff member I was gluten intolerant and coeliac , she didn't seem to care and when watching her noticed that although being informed of my allergy ddnt change her gloves, I informed her that I couldn't eat the hash browns as she had contaminated them, she then threw the hash browns away, changed her gloves and did me some more, they were over cooked to taste like sand paper and her attitude was disgusting, that's the 1st time and last time i will buy anything there, please be careful if you have an allergy, I really feel they need training on the subject and be polite

After the Doctor said I have to eat more calories in order for my burn wounds to heal and knowing there was a Subway on site I decided to hunt it out and treat myself. I ordered two footlong Italian that were made just how I wanted, good start, or so you would think. I ordered 2 chocolate orange cookies the young lady behind the counter, who was not wearing a face mask, said it would be cheaper to order 3. So taking her advice I ordered 3 chocolate orange cookies, 2 bags of crisps, a donut, a large tea and a Pepsi Max Raspberry (for 2 people). I got all the way back to the ward to find I only had 2 of the 3 cookies, no donut and a regular size tea not a large! She had charged me for 3 cookies and only given me 2, she charged me for the donut and didn’t give it to me, she charged me for a large tea and gave me a regular size one! It is a long walk back and I don’t have the energy for it now. She completely ripped me off! £16.25! Furthermore, I check my bank account to see the payment has been taken twice! £16.25 times 2! So she really has literally ripped me off! I’m furious! And God only knows how long it will be now until I’m able to get back down there to get it rectified! I will NEVER use this Subway again! Be careful people, beware of the scams!

I'd not had a Subway sandwich before. I was ill, visiting hospital and starving hungry so I felt pretty rubbish. The young woman who served me was delightful and genuinely improved my afternoon with her demeanor. I wasn't just ordering a sandwich, I was being uplifted by her too. She made me possibly the nicest sandwich I've ever eaten. That's a pretty damn good experience, considering.

Went to this branch today at aprox 3.30 pm for a 6inch Vegan sub ... and was told no Vegan subs , that means no Vegan salads either??? Great big POS advertisers, not the end of the day , hopeless , I feel sorry for people who are stuck in the hospital working , ill or visiting and happen to be Vegan , don’t rely on this branch

Even though the food tastes good the queue is always long and the service very slow. I've noticed today that when the staff replenish the salad they don't clean out the tubs they just add ontop of what is already there. More care to attention is also needed as the counter really does need a tidy up and wipe down.

Coffee great! Place relatively quiet during off-peak times, but service was a bit disappointing! I waited in an empty shop almost 10mins to attract the attention of staff who were talking in the back room, and they didn't respond to me shouting "Excuse me!" or the bell on the door! :(

Sadly cant give a single star rating to this establishment. The complete and utter lack of professionalism was enough to make me consider my return on several occassions, although i did for the final time not so many days ago. Whilst waiting 30 mins behind 2 customers in the queue, gaining a clear understanding of what each employee had done the previous night, i was shocked at the sheer lack of acknowledgment to the customers, the complete lack of manners. The staff at this subway are so involved in their personal conversations that they have no customer service skills what so ever, i feel the staff are rude and are not interested in the task in hand. When i was eventually served (leaving me approx 2 minites to be back on shift along with paying for the said sandwich and eating it) 4 staff members were hanging around the back, leaving the same employee to insert the filling, heat the sandwich, put the remainder of fillings in, and work the till.. all of which were done wearing the same gloves after touching money, tills, bread, microwaves and ovens. This experience resulted in a sandwich that after it was heated was left on the side to go stone cold due to the lack of staff participating on the task in hand. So yeah, a cold sandwich, a lengthy wait and an unacceptable knowledge of staffs personal lives. Sort it out subway for the sake of hungry staff. Will not be returning!

Shocking service. Staff are so rude. No pleasantries at all... just a "yea..." Staff look scruffy and don't engage with customers, they just continue their own conversations publicly whilst serving. On many occasions they are far too busy preparing their own lunch absolutely packed full with fillings whilst customers food is left going cold on the side. I have never seen them wash their hands between changing gloves when switching from the till to the food prep.. on the off chance that they do actually change them. Considering this particular Subway is situated within a hospital it is not unreasonable to expect a good standard of customer care. What a let down.

Staff obviously hate working there, they were closing the shop 1 hour before they should. Really bad when people wanted to get food for their families who are I'll. If it wasn't for the love of Subway. I rate this establishment 2star. The glass of the counter is so dirty I couldn't see the staff face or mouth. I had to stretch over the counter to hear/see what she was saying. On top of that there was no steak left and when I asked for teriyaki chicken they were also finished. I asked for honey oat bread and guess what... also finished. The staff is nice and friendly but the stock was appalling. It's a busy place the Hospital so they should know to be stocked up.

Visited at 7pm and had 2hrs before closing but was treated like I was there 1 minute before closing. The Eastern European man who served me was very rude and treated me like an animal, wanted me to pay upfront half way through my wandwich being ordered. His attitude when they didn't have any ham or cookies was like I was asking for them for free. Felt very nervous about buying here very poorly managed. Better off going a McDonald's or Subway in Newcastle and not this hospital one as it's really bad not the Subway way of doing things. Previous stay at the hospital in 2017: My visit on Saturday was exellent but today's visit the day after in Sunday was absolutely terrible! The staff were complaining about not having a break all day and then they charged me 40p extra for tuna even though I didn't have tuna, didn't complain about it because I already paid but did question it. Also there weren't any cookies. Just so you know: They dont accept Sub cards.

Not Vegi Friendly. They won't change thier gloves or use a different (green) knife if you order something vegetarian. Check your receipts too. The guys at the till charged me for each item individually and not as a meal.

Cashier didn't realise I was waiting to pay. Accused me of jumping the queue when I had a cold drink in my hand from the other side of the counter. Rude & unapologetic. Despite telling her we were staying in, drinks were given in take out cups.

Went with my wife to have festive 2 course menu ,what a mistake, worst ever,cardboard tastless turkey slices,burnt parsnips,aunt Bessie roasts ,powdered potatoes ,cold Yorkshire pudding,under cooked pig in blankets,white colour. Please steer well clear.
