Subway in Edinburgh, City of

Absolute shambles in here! All Indian staff who don’t speak a word of England and who you literally have to point at everything in order for them to serve you. Came in for 6 inch tuna with cheese on Italian Herb, left with a footlong BMT on honey oat!

This is the second time I've been here and the same thing,the lady serving me a footlong sub,did not put enough meat or salad in it,two inches from the top had nothing on it as did one inch at bottom,so really I only got a 9 inch sub,defo won't be back,truly shocking

It's a Subway so I get exactly what I order, so no surprises there, in any case... it's very efficient when you don't have to repeat your order 5 times. I was surprised by this point. I found it more difficult to understand the English spoken by the employee (who was English) than by non-English speakers, such as Czechs or Portuguese. It's quite unusual and it really makes you wonder about the person's desire and understanding because I've never had a problem like that. An unforgettable experience, indeed."

We went to subway there was a lady called Aneena who was really rude and ignorant she burned our sandwich and didn't apologise, when we asked for mayo she threw the bottle on the table. Terrible place never coming here again.

been here many times picking up orders for collection, they never start them until after you get there despite the place being empty. i’ve waited half an hour for them to make a sandwich i ordered 20 minutes before that! seems like there’s only ever one member of staff here.

Terrible customer service, the staff were so rude

The place is overheated, employee touch food and money wearing the same gloves . Payment by card was not possible . Seems like the place need good manager and stuff needs food save training

I've been a customer of this particular Subway for about 2 years as all the staff members are really friendly, portions are always good size and been generally satisfied, but today I wanna give a special shout out to Emma - who made the absolute best salad box I have - hands down -ever seen. I don't think anyone ever in any Subway prepared that box with such precision and care that it looked pleasing to my eyes so the words we first eat with our eyes never been more true. Not to mention how friendly, happy and cheery she was, so it was definitely a good pick me up after a long day, really appreciated it! Thumbs up for your new staff member Subway! And thank you Emma!

Really terrible experience The guy didn't give me any options for salad or bread He even told me it was a set sandwich. I then asked which ones I could choose on and he said all of them When did Subway decide that the customer doesn't get to choose their own meal WHICH THEY ARE PAYING FOR. I would urge you to avoid and I will be avoiding from now on. Big mistake.

Staff are literally incompetent expected me to wait 30 mins for a sandwich. Incapable of any organisation and heard them mentioning microwaving things from frozen because they'd forgot to defrost. Won't be visiting again.

Called subway when my order of £35 worth of food was not delivered they were extremely rude and told me “it happens”. They were not eager to help when asked how I could get a refund or why I didn’t get my food. They basically told it was Just Eats problem and not theirs. They repeatedly spoke over me and then hung up on me when I was mid sentence. Atrocious customer service and very poor communication.

I asked for a Italian sub but with how a cheese steak is made, and the staff completely gave me the wrong meal. The girl seemed new so I don’t blame her but the rest should have explained. I did explain fully what I wanted and it still wasn’t understood. I’m quite annoyed I spent £8 for a meal I’m upset about, but it is what it is. It would be in everyone best interest if they took the time to listen and ask if they are unsure of what they are doing

Absolutely shocking to have one new member of staff left alone to do everything including deliveries. Felt so bad for her as she’s been there THREE DAYS and had two other member of staff leave her as they wouldn’t of gotten paid for staying. Had customers walking out after waiting 20+ minutes in the que. She should be getting double paid for having to care for everything and that’s without full knowledge of how to work the machines or charge people properly. If the manager reads this I hope you are ashamed getting that young girl to cope with impatient people HERSELF.

Service was fast but a little language Barrie would help but very clean and friendly

I had free points for joining and ordered a coffee. First thing, app is terrible. Staff don't really communicate......... But! Their coffee is delicious! It was a really cold morning. And the coffee was strong, I asked for just a little milk. It made me smile. Thanks, I've been back many times.

As for subways it's not too bad but the girl had a proper attitude on her

It's a Subway, tasty cheap fast food. More satisfying than Mcd's, but just as unhealthy.

Fast, predicatble, expensive. Does the job when all the local little businesses aren't open.... they will always be.

Had to send 10 year old son in to shop as had my baby in car. Got his order but upon looking at receipt, he was charged over a £1 extra for sitting in. He did not asky child if he was sitting in just thought to charge it anyway to get more money. He knew a small child wouldn't question it. Robbing miserable bunch of staff in that leith shop. I would avoid. Lack of English makes extremely difficult to Complain.

Worst subway I've ever been to. I asked for a tuna salad box with triple meat and down below is what I got. This cost £8.77! An order I got from them before had a chicken bone in it. Avoid this Subway if you value your money & health.

Sandwiches typical as every subway branch (good vegan options) but the staff in this one was particularly lovely, it was also very quiet and nice to sit in. The only downside is the lack of bathroom, we had to go to the pub opposite.

Bland and overpriced, will go to one of the many independent cafés next door.

I ordered a subway melt over just eat and when it arrived I noticed they had put alot of southwest sauce on so I called the restaurant to ask if they could deliver me another one without the sauce. The apparent manager of the store said I had to get a refund from just eat and hang up on me, so I called back and said I did expect my original order to be re-sent and he then said either I get a refund from just eat or re-order and re-pay, he said his colleague made a mistake and that was acceptable to him then he hung up again. I then travled to the restaurant with my southwest soaked melt and asked him to replace it which he did with a smile. Donr recommend this manager but his colleague who re-malde my melt was lovely x

Never going back... How can you serve stale bread when all you serve is bread. Stood there for 45 minutes too. So very sad.

Friendly, sticking to social distancing and window service

I am a big fan of subway. So whenever i go i must eat from subway. That's why there will be no complaints about subway ever. I went to Edinburgh and i was hungry. So i was looking for nearby subway and i found this.i ordered tona fish sandwich and nachos. These foods were so delicious and mouth watering. It calmed our hunger. And we were so satisfied.

Went in there yesterday at 2pm. The customers are told to wear face masks and are only allowed to enter the shop if they are wearing on. The woman working in the shop however was not wearing any face covering at all. Only one customer is allowed in the shop at a time, so clearly this Subway doesn't want their staff catching Covid but are happy for customers to be put at risk by not making the staff wear a face covering.

Standard subway! Got all the usual bells and whistles you'd come to expect from a Subway. It's right on the corner of Leith Street and Great Junction Street so it is very convenient. Staff were friendly and there was a few tables and chairs if you want. Can't complain really.

Good food now and very clean good value for your money

Poor quality and presentation. Messed up our order and had to remake it, which was remade wrong. Still had to pay and had to wait ages. Both sandwiches overcooked.

Asked for a 12 inch, was given a 6 inch, asked if i want cheese and toasted, said yes, it didn't happen. I don't know if I mumble excessively or the employee could barely speak English but I always have problems at this specific subway.

Ordered a delivery through deliveroo, sandwiches made by subway were not correct. I phoned the store and was told it was a mistake by a new start who was training today. Even after admitting there mistake did not offer to replace the sandwich or offer a refund. Terrible service will never use this shop again. I advise others to not use this awful store.

I do like a subway once in a while. It's good for lunch You can choose exactly what you want in your sandwich or salad and you can see how they make it which is cool. Definitely recommend.

I can get fresh veggies with my sandwich here. I also got coffee with my sandwich which was a good breakfast deal.

Just tried new Christmas sub. It's really tasty especially the stuffing no salad required.

Very good food quick friendly and cheap

Not sure if it's lack of training or just ignorance but twice at this branch they have cut my Veg Sub with the meat (yellow handle) knife. At other Subways, notably in Musselburgh and Glasgow branches they are spot on. In those branches i have even been asked if i wanted them to change gloves as i had asked for a Veg option. Once is a mistake, twice is just wrong

Majority of time I go there they never have what I want whether it be afternoon or tea time don't seem to cater for more people never seem to have a lot if salad cut and the salad I saw last time well let's say wasn't very fresh looking

Gotta love a salad from subway... Only in this shop i find one member of staff do all the serving. Where is the staff in this shop? The lad who has served me twice now is such a happy lad while working. Always smiling... Will be in next week again. So see who serves me then.

The quality of this place varies depending on what staff serves you, but they are mostly generous with their salad. Prices keep creeping up every few months though.

Some staff in this subway are nicer than others, one member of staff acts like she doesn't even want to but there, and the others treat their customers so nicely.

Very bad experience. Bought two foot long Italian herb and spice. The bread must have been three days old. We could not eat it and threw it in the bin. Unfotunately I only checked it at home, several miles away. Very disappointed. There is nothing wrong with my money, why should I be servered substandard food. The guy behind the counter had quite a attitude when I ask for more salad.
