The best fish and chips by far.

Absolutely love the breaded fish , nice and fresh , haggis & batters fish were amazing too , would definitely recommend this chippy! Safe to say we have found a decent chippy !! Phoned up to collect order , the lassie was lovely too , prices are more than fair , and good sized portions

Been here a few times. Each time staff don't listen to request or just not interested. This time I ordered calzone with jalapenos instead of peppers. Got home, no jalapenos - peppers instead. Working like robots - can't cope with even the smallest change in routine. Thanks for spoiling my tea.....again

On a fun family day out with my daughters and popped in for some chip rolls. Woman that served us seemed offended at the request of sauce on the rolls. She was very rude and angry wee old woman. She threw the chip rolls as my daughters lookws on in horror Maybe she should call it a day as she had no customer service skills. Shame as the chips were banging. Won't be back

30 min wait for order in the shop, chicken kebab cooked for the all time, dry as anything. Jumbo sausage extremely under cooked half of it had no butter. I didn’t bring the food back because I really needed to go. Absolute waste of money and time.

Today my son came in for a hoagie wrap with no salad, but with salad sauce, my sons autistic I think they picked him up wrong asking for the sauce or lack of understanding, and when arrived home the salad was unfortunately there, as he wouldn’t make bk to shop b4 closing, I called to say, not expecting anything bk, a woman RACHEL answers the call as he’s now having meltdown by this point, Rachel decides to replace it free of charge and also deliver after she finished work, which she has, also she gave him a share bag of aero melts with it also free of charge , this is best customer care we have received , a can’t thank Rachel enuf 4 this act of kindness, I have tried to leave review on fb page and website, unfortunately u can’t, I hope this reaches u all in the fryers delight #everybodyshouldbmorelikerachel 🙈😂

Ordered food at 6 oclock and it said that the food would come at 7:20-7:40 it just cane now and its 8:16 exactly

Fish suppers tonight were appalling and inedible. The fish was grey, rancid and obviously not fresh. Chips were like bark. At £10.50 each this was a disgrace. Avoid, I certainly won't be back.

Two times this has happened over past month order food they’ve waited half a hour to then call me back and make out delivery driver has been and no anwser at my door ! I have cctv on my front door and no delivery driver has attempted to come to my door with my order ! The absolute cheek I got from staff member who anwsered this call ! Food for thought idiots ! Why would anyone order food then not anwser there door for there order make no sense whatsoever! And another thing customers are always right need to brush up on the bedside manner apoling behaviour

Waste of time!!! Put in an order on their website at 4.30pm today, first available delivery time was 6.30pm, waited until 7pm for the delivery then phoned them. They had no record of the order, either they're lying or their website is not fit for purpose. Missus had to repeat the address over the phone about 20 times to be told they had no order. Clean the tatties oot yer lugs! Ordered from The Friery now since at least they deliver food. Could eat a scabby horse now

I ordered fish and chips today, but when they asked if I wanted sauce, I said, "Take away please." Instead of giving it to me separately, they covered the entire thing in a thick layer of sauce, spilling the entire box and leaving the fish without any crunch. Finally, the chips fell out, and the fish was no longer crunchy. When the caller was rude and indicated they were busy, instead of showing care, they said, "You asked for sauce, so I gave it, no matter how," and then they ruined the food. Simple common sense take away food sauce ahould give separately. I lost 10.50£. I dont how such people are getting license to spoil customers mood. One appology also they cant say.

Great chips from a chippy, super fast we went into the chip shop

Delivery times are absolute terrible, doesnt take 2 hours to make 2 kebabs and deliver them. Also forget half your order or ignore if you want extra dips. Also very expensive on Just Eat

Chips are amazing. Chicken kebab meet is ok. All arrived in latest environmentally friendly packaging.

I've ordered from here about 10 times now, and I've always enjoyed it. Sometimes delivery is a bit slow I suppose, but that's about it and never super over the estimated time. I like the pizza, which is chip-shop style (rather than Italian style), the chips are also very nice (although they never add the salt and vinegar even though I always select it as an option). I also really like their wings with hot sauce - nice and crispy, moist and spicy.

Order from here 3 times every time something wrong with the food pizza is good tho wont be ordering from these as never get what u ask for and customer service is shocking to

Great fish and chips. Definitely one of the best around the area and somewhere I like to go whenever I'm up visiting Edinburgh. Clean areas, good selection of food, friendly service, great food.

My partner ordered chips and cheese from here last night before her night shift and noticed the cheese had green mold on it. They obviously don’t change their cheese often 🤢

Use this place often.past 3 times have been terrible. Ordered a mixed kebab and a chip roll last night.chip roll was cold.and after eating kebab it gave me food poisoning. Been on toilet all night.the food is always cold and chips taste horrible. Don't know if it's cheap potatoes or dirty oil????Never using this place again. Should be shut down after how ill I was from your rank kebab. Hurry up and open again luigis.

ordered a pizza crunch supper, two spring rolls and a portion of chips. the food arrived 40 minutes later than was estimated on the app and when it did the delivery driver was on her phone and she left the garden gate open. the food was *all* soggy and lukewarm, including the pizza crunch (no crunch!!!), the chips were not salted and one portion did not come with sauce.

Kebab was not fresh sadly as the last one we had was great. Maybe too busy on a saturday night and been lying around too long.

Ordered chicken tikka cazolne and my cazolne consisted of 30% chicken tikka and the rest donner meat. Keep ordering here out of habit but for the past year the orders were never what we asked for. Gonna stop ordering from here.

Disappointed that on line menu states you get 2 pieces of smoked sausage with supper yet in shop you only get one. Staff say the 'jumbo' half sausage is equivalent to the 2 previous halves. Nonesense - it's an insult of your intelligence.

Do not use. Staff too busy chatting when queues in shop, rude when I asked if I could get served. Portion sizes very small. Chicken was size of pigeon. Not interested in custome service. Plenty of other chippies locally to use.

When u place an order of loaded fries with cheese sauce and they come as fries with grated cheese on top that cold the cheese hadn't melted my child wouldn't eat them as wasn't the sauce which was specified in the order... cold over an hour to come customer service there's none just pass phone around .... definitely won't be ordering again no first time orders been wrong even cancelled the correct order coming back as my child wasn't wanting them after another long wait !! Poor quality on all service

Just ordered a pizza and I be wasn’t too hungry so thought I would have a garlic bread pizza with cheese !!!! But I can assure you this was pizza bread with cheese and no garlic!!!! I ordered the same thing a few weeks ago and it was lovely!!! But very disappointed tonight!!!! Sorry but not good enough!!!!! I’m done with this chippy

ordered fish and chips last night totally inedible, fish was grey and batter way over cook and stone cold. Chips were like rubber and hard, not cooked properly also stone cold, you could see the oil form on the surface it was that cold. Total waste of money could not eat it, STRAIGHT INTO THE BIN, had a similar experience a few months back decided to give them another try, but wont order again.

Visited in person. No acknowledgment/welcome on arrival. Thus was unsure of who to order from, or where to stand to place order. All the fish that was ready and waiting was removed and put into home delivery boxes while I stood and watched. It was as if I had walked into a home delivery operation and I was totally invisible. After more than five minutes of being ignored I spoke up and the staff looked at me as though I was an inconvenience. There was then ten more minutes waiting for more fish to be freshly cooked before my meals finally arrived. The haddock portions were small and marginally overcooked; the chips were excellent. Overall a mixed bag I’d say.

The staff need to learn how to smile instead of stand with a face that hitting the ground if they do jot enjoy working in the chippy thw should leave because I will jot be back anytime fast manner cost 0

I've just had a small portion of chips which my husband was in buying with a hamburger supper. The reheated chips were awful and cold this has happened before. Things are hard enough for people, just couldn't eat them both my husband and me,shocking!....

So we ordered a take away from here instead of the Superbowl. What a mistake that was. I've had my fair share of chippys over the years and usually evem the worst can get some stuff right. Lengthy wait but was tea time, so excusable. But clearly ramming the delivery driver with too many deliveries. When we got our food it was stone cold. Mmmm stone cold chips and battered mushrooms......yummy. Got the kids a doner kebab to share. Again stone cold, but pale and rubbery as well on a greasy dry looking pita bread. Then came the Italian Calzone. Again stone cold, terrible flavours and couldn't have been dripping anymore with grease. Literally the most disgusting chippy I've eaten in 41 years. My advice to you would be starve before you eat here.

Food good and I know it was busy but they spend more time on phone orders than people in the shop who r treated 2nd class. Something that needs 2 b looked at.

The worst chippy I’ve ever had. Just got two fish suppers. Fish is soo soggy and the batter is awful. The worst is the white pudding though. Tastes disgusting. Wish I could get a refund.

2 hours for delivery website says 60 mins. Chips were cold and side order. Main meal was hot but burnt. Usually good food but tonight went in bin.

Ordered food last night at 6.45pm, was told an hours wait for delivery. After an hour I called to be told the next driver would bring the food, we’ve been busy! Over two hours later around 9pm, the food arrived but it wasn’t great. I totally understand it was a busy night but either stop taking orders so you can fulfil the orders already placed or give a more accurate representation of delivery time. Waiting over 2 hours for a delivery is unacceptable. Should have read the recent reviews with similar issues before ordering, not that the establishment seems to care about the complaint in the first place.

Really not happy waited over 2 hours for food and it’s cold with no apology from the driver! We normally like the food out of here but really bad service tonight!

Fish was just so small today and felt insubstantial. Sticking to the batter (see the photo, this is how it looked after i opened it). didnt taste like haddock either (well not as usual anyway)...will not be ordering again...

Good food but have the inability to read. Requested food for 6:30 turned up at 4:30 this is second time this has happened through website

Used this place for nearly 20 years, having previously reviewed really well, however since the son of the owner has taken over product has gone down the pan as the delivery service is taking precedence and they’ve lost the focus on the quality that made the business so good for so long. No point expanding the offer vastly for the core product to go from hero to zero. Drivers taking too many orders out, resulting in delays and cold, soggy chips, cloying batter on fish and scampi - really poor over past few orders. Even in store, the formerly happy staff seem stressed compared to years gone by. Another annoyance was being texted for a pizza promo, to try and order late, be kept on hold for 15 plus minutes then have to call back only to be told there’s a 90 minute plus wait….. the reason for which - “we’ve only got one pizza chef on tonight”…. I’ve left my number twice for Marco to call…… still waiting!!!

I ordered fish supper and calamari. The calamari was so hard and not fresh. I ordered 2 fish supper and mushroom in batter two weeks ago. The mushrooms wasn’t fresh too. It was hard and dried. It look like it was from the food the day before. Even before that that fish was burnt. Its disappointing! I even recommended them before to other people. The customer service was really bad too when i go to the shop! They will do the other people’s order first even if i was there first! This happened almost all the time! It feel uncomfortable, that i dont feel welcome in the shop! that’s why i just get it delivered! I wont order again . Too much bad experience!

Ordered two meal deals for my sons birthday treat. Was the best takeaway I had in a while. Massive pizza and burgers really tasty. Such good value for money. Enjoyed ever bit.

Absolutely awful. Chips were hardly cooked, greasy and soggy. Fish was awful and so small even the cat rejected it. Batter was soggy as hell. Feel absolutely ripped off. When i called to complain to tell them i wasnt using their establishment again all i got from the person answering the phone was, "no problem". Absolutely shocking food and the customer service to match. Not sure how they are still open if thats what they serve up. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Great chippy, Fish in suppers are massive. Proper ½ chicken in chicken suppers.

Used their own app. 1hr wait for 2 pizzas...no pizza after 1hr 30mins. They'd lost the order. 2hrs after ordering we got an over cooked pizza that was salty and soggy. Won't be using that app again.

We ordered 2 x 16" pizzas which where very good and big. Kids enjoyed fries. Chicken nuggets with too much breadcrumbs. I ordered spicy wrap but wasn't spicy. Definitely good place for pizza.

Food is good, choice is excellent. Counter staff are shocking. Very rude. Don't raise any issues, all you will get is verbal abuse and whatever it is its your fault. They give the impression you should be glad they are serving you.

Best chippy in Scotland, I live in Moray and my son lives in Edinburgh so when visiting him ,a visit to this chippy is a must.lovely smoked sausages and a good size fish too. Although i haven't had anything else from them , the rest of there menu and food looks lovely.. Staff are attentive and very polite.

The service is very efficient and was served quickly! The portion is huge and I was disappointed by the batter on the fish. A wee bit soggy. It's not put me off returning as there is a huge menu to choose from.

I have visited this place many times. Food isn't bad when it's cooked fresh but prices are a little high for what it is. Today I asked for a large portion of chips. This is what I got for £3.50. No i haven't taken any out, as you can see from the top of the box there is not many oil stains. Clearly the box wasn't even full. Sorry but no chips from a fish and chips shop is worth that. Definitely would avoid in the future.

Received an order tonight. Absolutely vulgar. Asked for brown sauce and received a pityful tub that covers very little of the food. The food was seaping in greasy oil and the fish tasted smokey. I called to complain and was told to like it or lump it- unacceptable. Wont be back.

I have ordered donner kebabs + chicken kebab + shish kebab from last 4 month . many times even for my parties . I'm satisfied with service and quality of ingredients.

It was my favorite fast food ordering place till tonight!!!!!I have ordered usually and it was 60% down compare to the last ones!!! I think it is the time to try somewhere else!!! Good luck Fryers delight!!!

Great little fish and chip shop best in midlothian

The food wasn't delivered in the time stated. When I called the phone was answered and hung up 3 times without anyone speaking. When I did finally speak to someone she said 15 mins til delivery. Half an hour later the food arrived, luke warm The pie was all undercooked pastry. The little meat there was was of inferior quality, chewy and nasty. The chips were cold. All in all very disappointing and inedible.
