Visited on Saturday 19:35, they are closing at 20:00, or supposed to… However, we were not asked but told that our order will be a takeaway. At the end of my order I asked if I may use their toilet and they said oh, we just cleaned it, if you’ll use it we have to clean again, basically telling me no. I checked the time and it was 19:39 in that very moment. Worst Subway shop I’ve been to. Sad.

Very very poor customer service. Worker didnt even know how to make the order I havw asked for and when made after instructions done it very poorly. I got nhs discount previously and get it in all the subways i go in. Worker stated its only for doctors and police officers. Worker was very rude and very poor service. Never again!

Me and a friend have just bought lunch to take out from this Subway. It was prepared by two trainees, who were pretty clueless to say the least, however we gave them the benefit of the doubt, even though mine had to have the cheese put back on after and re-toasted because it was rushed. To our surprise, my friend was charged £9.19 for a 6inch sub and a cookie with a drink. I had the 6 inch sub alone and was charged £5.89. I paid £4.99 in a different subway for exactly the same two days ago. The manager stated that “everything is going up” before explaining that he was part of a franchise. Disappointing. The chicken also tasted like the cheap water injected stuff from the Tesco value range. Won’t be returning.

The gentlemen in there was very helpful made my food to perfection! One of the lovely workers opened the door for me as I came in and left the shop due to having a double buggy. All wore correct hygiene equipment. Only advice atmosphere could be a little more inviting with some music in the background and a little more colour or pictures.

Worst subway ever!!! Ordered a foot long steak and cheese, had hardly any meat and 3 stingy cheese slices.. through it in the bin.. posted on local reviews and this subway has loads of bad reviews. Asked for my money back and they refused .. take my advice and DONT EAT HERE..ITS TOTAL CRAP !!!!

The store would not provide a receipt, making it impossible to reclaim award points. Now, I cannot buy and collect points. Subway points are not accepted on the premises, and I cannot scan to add points to my account or Subway card. This has been the case for over a year. The store blames the unavailability of the internet. National deals are also not accepted. *Update:* They are now providing claim receipts. I will adjust my review later if this continues.

Staff at this subway aren't running orders through the subway system. Instead using a "SumUp" card reader. This means you don't get points, don't get a receipt and can't claim national offers. have argued with who appears to be the franchisee and he invited me to look at the till, clicked rewards and applied the reward previously, however today had to argue to even get a receipt. Best guess, they are just pocketing the money and marking as a operating loss to subway head office.

Ordered a deal through just eat, turned up on time however was missing drink. Said to the driver before he left, he went and had a look then came back in and told me to ring… tried that. The number on Google just kept cutting off, and then called through JustEat app and it rang and rang until it was cut off. Have applied to JustEat for a refund, however because it’s a deal it will only let you select the whole deal as “missing items”

I wouldn't have ever posted this review if it hadn't happened twice, and if anyone picked up the phone when I called over three times. I'm a vegetation, and also Muslim so I have never eaten non-halal meat in my life, when I ordered my vegan TLS, I was given meat, and unfortunately didn't realise till I was nearly halfway through the sandwich. safe to say I was really, really upset this had happened (and not for the first time- didnt make a fuss last time bc it was christmas eve and i felt bad, plus i was lucky enough to check before i ate it) and so angry. Deliveroo offered me a refund but Subway didn't even answer their phone. If you're someone with a deadly allergy, I wouldn't order from here if I were you.

The food is as expected from a subway, they actually had meatballs! The drinks selection was lacking compared to other close by Subways. The manager seemed to push promotions and meal deals a little too much which irks me personally but he was friendly. If I want a promo or meal deal, I would have asked for it. Atmosphere was chill. Its tucked away from the high street so it was quite quiet which is always a good thing. Would go again

Absolutely awful branch. Do not go here unless you want the wrong order, squashed to within an inch of its life, portions the size of ww2 rations (even if you pay for extra), slices of onion the size of dinner plates and disgustingly rude staff. Given them a chance several times over the years and always disappointed. Never visiting again and can not stress enough not to go here. Bad in store service, even worse delivery and not worth £1 let alone the £13 something they actually charge you.

You will be consistently overcharged if you come here. This has been my experience after frequenting this place consistently for three years. I return because my son likes Subway sandwiches and because I worked at Subway in uni so have a fond memory of the brand. NO other reasons. I can confirm this Subway is inconsistent with the American brand as I know it and have loved it through my lifetime.

Went in for a tuna sub with cucumber and sweet corn, got overpriced, the man behind the counter took a while to make the sandwich and didn’t even wear gloves, I know covid restrictions are lifting but it’s basic hygiene to wear gloves when handling people’s food, i dont think I want to come back to this subway, it’s hit or miss with subways in the uk and this ones definitely a miss.

Seem to have made a SLIGHT improvement on delivery times however this is now the second time in a row they got my order wrong and did not read the comments to the restaurant section properly. I always get told “we will look after you next time” but never do get any discount for me and this time I spent nearly 50 pounds on my order. Such a shame as not getting the filling you want in a place that prides on customisation can ruin a perfectly good sandwich!

Good sized branch of the sandwich chain, with tables and chairs for eating in, or there is always the option to take away. Subway offers a wide range of breads, fillings and sauces- including plenty of salad items and veggie/vegan options. Perfect for a quick bite to eat if you are busy. If you don't want a sub they do wraps and salads too, plus crisps, cookies and drinks. They are available to order for delivery on many apps :)

I ordered 1 tuna salad with a cup of hot chocolate. The owner did not know the price when asked. £10 for a tuna salad. And the hot chocolate was salty with a chunk of chocolate at the bottom, even after stirring it was still salty. Never going there again!!!

They’ve got enrolled in “Eat Out to Help Out” programme, yet no one bothers to inform you when it comes to pay that you are entitled to get a 50% discount. No even apology when you challenge the staff after being overcharged. There is one tanned, tall guy who is the rudest, laziest, and the most useless person, who should never be employed in any customer services. And that is based on many occasions experience!

The tuna sub and the salad had about a teaspoon of tuna each. The order was missing my drink, one order of hash browns and a cookie. The whole order was wrong and when the food was collected they were very rude to us. When I called them and told them the order was incorrect they were rude and sarcastic, and said at the most we could have a free cookie extra. Do not order from here unless you enjoy hunger, disappointment and awful customer service.

Myself and my partner were served by the rudest manager I have ever met. I had a voucher for a salad which stated "any salad and a dispensed drink" expecting (like normal) to be able to select my salad and toppings I was horrified when the manager slapped tiny amounts of everything on this salad. It was only a half full tub. It had chillies and olives and loads of things I didnt want on my salad. I was then old to get "get a water from the fridge" sorry - I actually would like a dispensed drink. Whether I had a voucher or not. I go to subway because I pick what I have on my salad. I have never had such bad service at a subway.

Rude manager, if you dont like your job get another one! Everytime I've been in this store there has been an issue with him, never any problems in any other subway store. My favourite Subway! People often think with chains every store is the same. Not the case at all. This one in Stortford is top for me for a few reasons: 1) They have the full selection of food always and never tell me they have run out of anything etc. 2) The staff are fantastic. This place gets absolutely packed out but they get through the queue quickly and you get a really warm welcome no matter how busy. The manager Daniel is a really top guy and does a fantastic job. You will also often meet the owner in store, lovely guy who is clearly very proud and passionate about his store. Service is flawless. 3) All the times I have been there, including after the school kid rush our I don't think I have ever seen even a wrapper on the floor. The place is so clean and tidy. Really great location and will always make this one my first call when I want a sandwich!

Not sure where to begin, suffice to say we had a very SURREAL experience at this place. I will start by saying that my friend and I regularly work as Mystery Shoppers in restaurants (we weren't doing so today) but we do know exactly what to expect from both the food and the hospitality aspects. My friend ordered a chicken salad, and I ordered 10 of their wonder wings. Please bear in mind that we were ALONE in this pub for the duration of our meal. After 35 minutes, I am approached to be told that they only have six wings prepped, but that they could make up the rest with chicken chunks...(I agreed to this) Why does it take 35 minutes to work out you don't have the number of wings requested in the order, especially when it is their ONLY order? When my friend's salad arrives, it was lacking a fair few of the ingredients described in the menu. (Crunchy garlic onions replaced by raw onions that my friend could not have, no parmesan cheese, no dressing, etc. We had to order mayo on the side to make it palatable) But the worse was still to come!! After explaining our disappointment about the various issues and asking whether their would be some form of gesture of goodwill and being told 'no' as we 'really' hadn't any issues...we entered into the most surreal situation... Without going into huge detail because it would take far too long, the manager/landlord, after agreeing that they should have told us about the lack of wings available right at the start, proceeded to DENY saying so just 5 minutes later! IT WAS UNREAL. On top of that, he would not let me talk, saying he would keep talking over me for as long as it was necessary and doing so in the rudest manner imaginable. Even having the nerve of calling me arrogant! Needless to say, this gentleman is definitely in the wrong trade. At this point, and after trying to get some sense out of him and the evolving situation, I said that my next port of call would be social media. In a spooky set of circumstances, their card-machine stopped working and wouldn't take our payment... Suddenly, we were told to leave without paying for the food (right gesture, too late) and never to come back. The irony of that!! I would strongly recommend that you give your business to any of the many other food/drink venues in Bishops Stortford, rather than to this establishment. They certainly do not know what hospitality is or what it takes to run a successful pub.

Lovely quaint, restaurant, which is now my new local as I’ve just moved to the area. The customer service I’ve experienced is lovely. Server (I hope that’s the correct way to say) Maya is always welcoming, polite and friendly. Sometimes human kindness is not always present in the world, so thank you. Sel (the lady who always orders Doughballs after work) 😎
