Pizza Express in East Hertfordshire

Lovely quaint, restaurant, which is now my new local as I’ve just moved to the area. The customer service I’ve experienced is lovely. Server (I hope that’s the correct way to say) Maya is always welcoming, polite and friendly. Sometimes human kindness is not always present in the world, so thank you. Sel (the lady who always orders Doughballs after work) 😎

Lovely and friendly waitresses maya and Teresa who were extremely attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious.

My granddaughter had a pizza making birthday party with 9 friends. It was great fun for them all. My daughter and I watched their enjoyment from a comfy corner. Would recommend this for a different birthday treat.

The food was great! My son said our servers were really fun and friendly. He is 8 years old.

We visited Pizza Express in Bishop’s Stortford with the whole family on a weekday at 6:30 pm. It’s hard to find major faults, but the price-to-quality ratio could definitely be better. Paying £17 for a pizza with hardly any toppings feels a bit much… We’ve been here several times, and unfortunately, the pizza quality is quite poor—you’re mostly paying for the brand and location. The only real positive is the friendly and quick service.

We ordered a couple of timtimes delivery and it was terrible always late and cold. So we started to order for collection as well always not ready or the wrong order. Last order was made at 19:30 for collection at 20:00, waited at the door for another 30 minutes to be ready, and no one payed even attention to us. After all that we just cancelled the order and we will never eat from there again. Dont recommend.

This pizza express is located in a picturesque old building along a beautiful street full of more of the same. The food was great and the service was as well. There’s loads of options and the new biscoff sundae was an amazing way to finish off the meal. The tables are slightly cramped inside, and it is quite expensive to eat here. We had 2 kids on the set menu and 2 adults (olives starter, 2 pizzas, 2 sundaes, 3 drinks) and ended up spending £95. There is easy cheap (£3) parking round the corner 5 min walk away. A really enjoyable meal out.

I go here quite often. I got a too good to go order and was very excited about it, however, once I arrived to the restaurant the staff was extremely rude as if they didn’t want to serve me because it was a too good to go order. According to the app, it was supposed to be either 1 entree and 2 starters or 2 starters and a dessert. I was only given 1 entree. The server also wanted to charge me 3.50£ for a bottle of water I didn’t ask for. When she asked if I was going to pay I said no because I asked for tap water and didn’t use the bottle she brought and she didn’t say anything but stormed off. This was very disappointing because I go here often with a friend at least once a week and the way I was treated tonight and the service I received i will never come back again. The servers need to get their act together and treat customers accordingly whether it’s a too good to go order or not.

I was missing my 2nd pizza and the help function on just eat only gave me the option to request a refund. the restaurant would not deliver the missing item and as it was done through just eat.

We always order from pizza express. We ordered for delivery and wait for 2 hours, we then arrive at the chain to see that the order was taken long before- but never arrived. Maybe this wasn’t their fault, but we tried to call them before with no response. Eventually uber eats cancelled our order- so while there we ordered for collection. We got home, after another 10 mins delay to our order and realised we’re missing the dips.. I love the food but no clue what’s going on recently.

Ordered a delivery from Deliveroo, and I was reluctant because of a bad experience with prezzo not too long ago, BUT pizza express smashed it! The food was fantastic and easily the best quality pizza in town! It is more expensive but you get what you pay for, you want a good quality of pizza dine in or take out, this is the best! unprofessional chefs, when i placed delivery never in the time its ready, delivery drivers keep cancel my order, so weak on deliveries

delivery was made 2 hours and 25 min after I ordered. I call the restaurant several time and they never picked up. food was half cold. hopefully because of weather.

We booked a table for my son's 18th birthday 'surprise' party. They have let us go earlier to hang some decorations and were helpful and welcoming from booking to the moment we left. The food was amazing and promptly on the table as we pre-order it. Very enthusiastic and caring waiter (Curtis) looked after us for the evening and went beyond to meet our requirements and deliver the best service. They really helped make our evening special! Couldn't have been better! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nasty. Ordered this as pizza express has stopped doing romana based in supermarkets. Early and terrible. Last week was late, and terrible. Never again.

We turned up without booking, and even though the waitress was busy she made a table for us. She was amazing and until a colleague turned up she was running around all by herself doing a fabulous job. And of course we can always guarantee great pizzas!

Not normally fussy about delivery time but am after a >30km long run

I have been going here regularly for years, often with close family and friends. It has always had and continues to have a wonderfully unique atmosphere, which I think surpasses other Pizza Express restaurants; the period building and cozy interior design naturally add to its charm. The service is always warm, welcoming, and attentive; and the food is... well, delicious and as you'd expect, with many vegan and gluten-free options available (and also easy to adapt things)! This is a top-tier Pizza Express.

So late !!! Took up the special offer , wish I had not if bother . The food was cold when it finally arrived . I had to reheat it all . If you don’t have delivery drivers don’t offer the service . Waited nearly two hours from delivery being taken !

You would think that all Pizza Expresses are the same - well you would be wrong. This one is outstanding before Covid we came to Bishops stortford Pizza Express once a week, we were treated like VIPs. Now after Covid we don’t go as often but the service is still outstanding. Can’t recommend it enough.

Spent a lovely family evening in this Pizza Express. All 4 pizzas were amazing and the staff couldn’t be more helpful & attentive. The Padana pizza, my favourite, was delicious.

The service was superb! We all had a super family meal, the day before we had been to the ivy in cambridge i have to say i enjoyed this meal more! Value for money great service and lovely food.

The staff are always kind and friendly. We usually have takeaway and the service is speedy and food excellent.

If you really do want to frequent a Pizza Express, there are far better venues 20 min away. My advice, avoid the Stortford chain. Sorry to have to leave such a poor review, if you read my other reviews you’ll learn I very rarely leave such low scores, however when choosing a venue to spend a considerable amount of money on a meal for my family and I, Pizza Express should be a venue that one can rely on. Sadly, the Pizza Express in Bishops Stortford did not live up to this expectation. To begin with, we had to ask twice for a kids menu, I believe our waitress may have misheard us the first time. When ordering a jug of water, we were giving a fairly small jug as opposed to larger jugs we have received from other Pizza Expresses. When our starters/appetisers came out, the Olives were left behind. For our mains, for my children and I, no issues. Food was fine and brought to us on time. However, my wife ordered a Vegan Gardiniera - what came to her was a Gardiniera but not vegan, it had prawns on it. By the time her actual pizza came out, the kids and I had practically finished. What makes this worse, the waitress apologised profusely and stated the pizza would not be charged on our bill. Sadly this was not the case and we were charged and paid full price. All this plus we are in a fairly small room squashed in tightly with other guests. I also noticed the tell tale signs of misbehaved children with red wax crayon drawn on the wall. I highly doubt we will eat at this venue again. The Pizza Express in Harlow is far better and actually feels like you are eating in a restaurant. Bishops Stortford did not establish the atmosphere or live up to the service for such a pricey meal out.

Waited for one hour to get our food, had our two young grandchildren with us, absolutely unacceptable, seems like takeaway orders had priority, disappointing. Teresa our waitress was very good and was ran off her feet.

Curtis served us and he was amazing with the kids. Very accommodating and understanding.

Wasn’t a great experience. Waited over 35 minutes for starters and then another 40 minutes for our mains. Some food ordered wasn’t put through. Food was burnt. Overall experience was not great and very disappointing.

such a nice place, our vouchers didnt work and unlike a different pizza express branch which accused us of stealing they very kindly helped us figure out why it wasnt working and fixed it for us. the food was delicious and the staff were great, absolutely would recommend!

I was at a family gathering, the roof top is extremely hot not enough ventilation. Generally the staff was good but there was one staff who was really rude to me since my chair was on her way she made me move the chair according to her taste and spoke to me like primary school teacher in front of the guest.

Was unable to access restaurant as there was no wheelchair or pushchair access. Only steep steps with a door opening out. Shame really as have eaten here before and always trust the Pizza Express brand.

This is a very cosy pizza express compared to some I've visited. Starter was nice (chilli prawns) Pizza was great, cider was nice and the service was friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Poor service, starters slow to come out, Waited over a hour for 3 pizzas and some chips. When the pizzas came out was asked do we want anything else. Yes Bbq sause please. The lady never come back. Had to get up and go and ask someone else for it. Over priced food, didn't get the service for the £60 price tag for food and £20 on drinks. What was good was the easy parking close by.

Natalie the restaurant manager is simply the best! We love eating here and visit often with friends and family. Natalie always makes a special fuss of our daughter and nothing is ever too much trouble! Highly recommended pizza express. We have also held our daughter’s birthday here and again Natalie was simply amazing with all the children! This woman is an asset to the Pizza Express brand.

Food was ok, but the service was very good and the young waiter was excellent in explaining all the dishes on the menu in a very polite and professional manner! It was on a Sunday afternoon which was nice and quiet and made a nice change from a Sunday roast.

Only 1 waitress who was doing an amazing job. Couldn't fault her. Restaurant is starting to look tired and the brand needs a bit of a lift. Prices are getting a little crazy.

Waitress was lovely! Enthusiastic and bubbly personality, didn't catch her name though. The only issue I have is, with it being such a quiet night you could hear some staff talking about how they want to close/go home. Which trust me I understand but it does make you as a customer feel a little uncomfortable- maybe just a bit of consciousness is needed. However the night was lovely and definetly wasn't ruined by this.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions. Always excellent service, great vegetarian options and the fussy kids love the food. Pizza always delicious and the tirimisu is to die for. Also a very quaint old English style restaurant.

Sadly a bad experience. Waited 45 mins no food just a drink. Checked and found it hadnt even been ordered with the kitchen so we left and went somewhere else. There was one lady doing her very best to do everything but there simply not enough staff. It always used to be great but wont be returning.

Lovely place, but the food wasn’t good at all. The worst Pizza Express branch I’ve ever been, very disappointed, most of our dishes weren’t how we expected and paying £8-9 for a starter chilli king prawns and ended up with a plate full of chilli water and chopped tomatoes 🤯🤯 dear chef carbonara is made with pancetta and egg yolk, not bacon and 2kg of cream 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I came in today with my almost 2 year old and a friend for lunch. We had a wonderful experience, my friends dietary needs were well catered for and my little one was made a real fuss of. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who went out of their way to be kind and helpful. We would definitely return here.

I visited this Pizza Express for the first time on a bitterly cold January afternoon to have lunch with three former colleagues. The service from the manager and from the waitress was so friendly and professional and the food was delicious! A really good example of this restaurant chain. I would definitely recommend.

Held my son’s 11th birthday here today. Natalie, the manager ran the party brilliantly. Despite the fact that it is a really busy time of year, she looked after a large group of lively boys fantastically, helping them make their pizzas and have a really fun time. The pizzas were delicious and the whole experience so engaging and pitched brilliantly for their age. I would thoroughly recommend a Pizza Express party- so many smiling faces, a three course meal and a wonderful atmosphere all for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much for making my son’s birthday so memorable.
