Very rude staff and terrible service

Can only review competence of the staff which was non existant. Gave up with the order as they just couldn’t get it right.

food came 2 hours after ordering and when it turned up, it had items missing and the food was cold. We tried to call subway to first ask where our order was, as just eat said it had been delivered but half an hour later had still not arrived, and secondly to inform them of items missing and food being cold, however no one answered and then the phone was engaged. Complained on just eat, but they declined our request for a refund. Will never be ordering from Subway Newmarket again or just eat! Awful service.

Ordered from here multiple times, always food missing! Today a steak and cheese, this came with NO cheese and was not toasted. Also ordered a Nacho Chicken sub with cheese and toasted, again NO cheese and was not toasted. Called the shop to be told that they had put cheese on it and did not believe us! No resolution was given, the phone was put down on the side and eventually hung up, they then would not answer my call! Disgusting customer service!

Writing this review as you today did not put cheese on or toast my wife's steak and cheese. This could have easily been resolved if you were kind enough to send out the correct food as a replacement but instead you were rude to her and ruined her lunch that she paid your extortionate prices for. I do not like it when people are rude to my wife and take her hard earned money. I suggest you refund the order around lunchtime delivered to Isleham or I will be forced to write horrible reviews in every place possible on the Internet.

We usually eat here for lunch when we visit Newmarket. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They always acknowledge that we have visited before which is so nice. Very clean and tidy. Never an issue using promotional vounchers, Bluelight card etc

Everytime I've ordered from this restaurant, the food has been late and cold and they have never given me a recipt. I finally smapped today when they didn't delivery me recipt. They kept tell me that the recipt was for there records not mine. When they eventually gave me a recipt. It clearly said "customer copy" on the top. How can it not me my recipt if it clearing states "customer copy" on the top?

food is good, but when your ordering you have to speak soooo loud when u asked for no cheese they added cheese, the tables and chairs hardly get cleaned and you have to wipe it yourself the floor is dirty. i don’t ever see them get cleaned.

Made an order through just eat, the food was an hour late. I called shortly after the estimated time for an update and was told 10 to 15 min. Called again a half hour after the first delivery time and they told me they'd contact the driver. The food finally arrived after an hour of waiting, 2 hours after I ordered the food. Will not be ordering from here again

Food is as it should be. Was not impressed in the slightest how the male worker was ordering his female coworkers around. I would hate to work for anyone that spoke to me the way he did.

Staff is friendly for the most party, and the food taste how you'd expect a subway to taste. Sometimes a little heavy with the sauces but no one is perfect.

We enjoyed our visit to subway the guy behind the counter was very helpful offering many items .

Advertised a promotion at the entrance as lunch for £4.49, but was not ready to serve it

Many times I order from subway, many times they make mistakes and many times I forgive but this is where I draw the line. I order food on justeat(won't allow me to review it there), order goes through and over an hour past the delivery time it states "enjoy your food" okay, maybe they're around the corner, cool. No, I have to call the restaurant and they tell me "it was delivered to someone else", that is absolutely NOT okay. I'm waiting for food to get here and get zero notification that they made a mistake until I call THEM. They either need to write addresses on bags, names or SOMETHING to get this problem fixed because now I have to wait additional time to get the right food. This will not stand Edit: even after having time to redo the order they STILL forgot one item. Its not even worth fighting anymore.

The opening promotion of the 12 Days of Christmas was buy a foot long and get another free. When I came to pay I scanned my subcard and the price still came to the full amount for 2 foot longs. I mentioned the promotion but I was told that this store was not taking part. I didn’t argue, I just paid I full and ate my (very delicious) lunch. Later that week I googled the promotion and found a PDF on subways homepage which started Newmarket we’re taking part. A week or so later I walked passed the store again and they were even advertising it in the window! I wrote to subwaycares referencing the PDF and got a box standard robotic answer which claimed that valued me as a customer! My follow up email (where I mentored the window advert didn’t ever warrant a reply! I will be using up my free subs and once they’ve gone I will not be returning to subway ever again.

Not too.bad for a quick pit stop

The bread is often not fresh, so it's stale and hard. There are hundreds of flies flying around the restaurant without sufficient insect repellent or insectacuter provision. Often many of the toppings are looking wilted or have ran out, Or sat they empty with the source remnants around the empty container. This is a rather slap dash restaurant and takeaway that seems to not have much pride in itself. As a franchise I am surprised that the head office do not check up on the standards of hygiene availability and service at their restaurants, be they franchises or not. "Needs more work" !!

One word: Disappointment I used to love Subway but since I moved to Newmarket, it's been one massive disappointment and awkwardness. If there are five guys at the counter and I still have to wait ten minutes before Captain Unorganised and Slowengers serve two, two people with one sandwich each before me, I seriously don't understand how this franchise can run. Again I used to love Subway and used to get one couple of times a week but after I ordered through their 'amazing' app and got refused my order upon collection with no further explanation than I'd get an email from the office which I never got - I'd rather support small local businesses, thank you...

Great! Not skimpy on their portions like some branches.

I'm surprised that they have a high average rating. We have given them so many tries and they fail each and every time. They can't get orders right and it takes forever for them to deliver their food. If the kebab shops can get all orders correct and delivered to peoples' doors in half the time predicted, then they should be able to. The management is obviously not suited for the business. We won't be ordering from you again.

I’ve been in a few Subways on my travels around the UK and this one has had to be one of the poorer ones. Several tables had leftovers on them despite there being more staff there than customers. The bloke making my sandwich spent about 2 minutes trying to pry open a still frozen 6inch I had requested breaking off bits in the process. Most of my filling actually didn’t fit between the sandwich and I found myself eating it off the wrapper instead. It was REALLY warm in the store and I actually couldn’t wait to get out. Definitely in need of staff training on how to successfully defrost rolls and customer service.

We ordered some cookies for pickup on just eat and they were absolutely delicious. Thank you so much subway.

The food was nice however one of the staff Manning the food preparation line was extremely slow and I spent quite a while in the line even though there were very few customers. Perhaps the employee was new and being trained. The food was nice and the restaurant was clean however.

Today I ordered some food for my lunch (delivery) and I was left very unsatisfied when my order arrived TWO hours after ordering it. Arriving cold and looked like it had been flattened or pushed to the bottom of a cool box I couldn’t believe I had waited all that time for that. I appreciate lunch time is a busy time especially for a sandwich shop but I wasn’t expecting my lunch to take that long to arrive. When I rung up 20 minutes after my food was expected to be delivered according to the JUSTEAT app I was told repeatedly by a man my order was on its way and to be patient. I was on the phone all of 30 seconds and couldn’t get a word in edgewise after mentioning the lateness of my order I had placed and he continued to speak over me before hanging up. I ADVISE EVERYONE to read the reviews and if you are going to use this establishment to order yourself some lunch at work you should really do so at least an hour and a half to two hours before and it MIGHT then arrive when you want it. This is unfortunately not the first time I’ve had a problem like this but it will most certainly be the last time I make the mistake and order from here.

Sub was cold, slapped together, unappetizing. Ate the first half the best I could binned the second. Staff clearly never wanted to be there.

Food was good and fresh. Staff was friendly, however, the service was extremely slow. Maybe because it was not busy and there was no rush which you can expect during lunchtime. I can't imagine how they deal with big queues with such a pace. I think this time I had a trainee to make me a sandwich and could see slight confusion with is understandable and fine but whenever I go there, everytime I get served by different person and so far almost everyone were quite slow. Besides that everything was good. I could see improvement during last couple of years and I hope they'll improve even more in the future.

Got more choice of food for me now. Hash browns and cheesy garlic bread. Nice.

Located within the shopping centre. Usual fayre and friendly staff. Always a good value option for lunch.

Usually very quick service, most of the staff nice & friendly too. Two negatives though, I don't normally get offered a receipt, and they never tessellate the cheese.

Love a good brunch but was in a hurry to meet people so got my breakfast sub and as always spot on. I would not normally put egg and cheese together for breakfast but it works!

Fantastic love It!!!! Wonderful selection of everything you could wish for. Service is great, friendly, professional. The restaurant is always very clean and welcoming to customers young and old. This is a great place to go for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner and suits any appetite whether it be small or large. I always think of this as a treat when going to Newmarket. Would recommend especially the Mega Melt true deliciouness in bread😀👍

Fine if you eat in but don't order delivery. Wrong bread, fillings not as requested (and paid for) and delivery 30mins late. It's a sub, not fine dining, I expect to get what was ordered.

I went to subway Newmarket i had it with flat bread bacon ,ham and cheese and onion and i wanted it warm up and it was tasty with hot chillie sauce it was a thumbs up. i also did had some sweet corn and two slices of tomatoes it was great. My drink was a cup of tea was good .Thanks i enjoyed it .

Wouldnt give this place more than 1 star Woman that served me was very rude got our order totally wrong pity cause food is good just needs a whole new review of customer service training on this woman wont be going back

I used to like eating here but over the past 6 months it has got really bad. Every time I go in there now there is someone new working there that doesn't know what there doing and somebody else trying to train them that doesn't know what there doing either. I have been over charged numerous times and my order is wrong most times. They really need to get there staff trained properly because it is just a joke in there. Also it is like a youth club on an evening time with foul mouthed teenagers taking up most of the seats but don't appear to have bought anything

Understand they now have a new Manager and what an improvement since I last went earlier in the year. Looking forward to my next visit.
