Subway in Derby

Rowin and Royah are literally the best! Very welcoming and kind. Amazing customer service & very sanitary with how they make the sandwiches. They’re also respectful and pay good attention to detail. My favourite subway to go to tbh. Reanna is also excellent with customers and myself, such a sweet vibe in there.

Ordered a chicken tikka sub through Uber eats. The food was okay, but I got the complete wrong bread, hardly any cheese and plain chicken with 0 flavour. Not what I ordered. How hard is it to read an order from a screen and give the customer the correct order?

It's not a great vibe but the salads are fantastic

Staff are very friendly and welcoming when me and my children eat here, very accommodating and the store is always nice and tidy, lovely atmosphere

Me and my other half came in quickly to change our little boy who had unfortunately had an accident. When we entered we heard one of the staff members I didn’t get her name but was maybe late twenties making comments about us and then decided to walk round the back of the store and remain there until we left. I think personally this is very unprofessional, disgusting and a poor show of customer service. The only good point is the other member of staff who was on a younger lady in her late teens who was on, cleaned the toilet for me before I used it.

My only complaint is that the tables are dirty. I mentioned that they were dirty but was just looked at.

Wouldn’t recommend ordering a subway for delivery as my sandwich looked and tasted appealing unlike how it does when buying in store face to face and you can see it being made! Far too much mayo was added so it was coming out the sides and all on the paper, the cheese wasn’t toasted (the best part!) so had a cold sandwich which drastically changes the overall taste and experience of the sandwich No pickles or cucumbers were added as requested, overall seemed like a very rushed job which is sad because I’d been looking forward to this all week :(

Food as good as always, staff cheerful and friendly the atmosphere was quiet and calm 19-06-2024 VERY COOL and peaceful, food plentiful and the staff were friendly, helpful and very patient.

This isn’t a complaint directed at the store it is directed at the franchise itself, how is one single triangle of cheese in a sandwich in anyway acceptable for a kids meal , I had to get extra cheese

Strategic location, kind of town centre, with accessible entrance, SP wheelchair friendly. Excellent customer service with Subway signature menu.ine was vegetarian and it was delicious.

Went in with my partner at half past 5 this afternoon, and had been served by a woman in a calm and friendly manner. We were then served by a man who served us like he was in a rush, admitted he "wanted to go home", frightened his female colleague, took very little care in handling the machinery and produce, almost destroyed the sandwiches, and provided very little positive customer service. Was very tempted to just leave the store and get our sandwiches somewhere else.

The sandwiches are usial Subway but the staff at this particular Subway tend to rather rude and unhelpful. I will just go to the other subway 100 yards away from this one (over the road from McDonalds) in future.

Had a lovely vegan 6 inch chicken tikka sub. The staff were especially great and the highlight was a conversation around if the southwest sauce is vegan and the vegan police from Scott Pilgrim. The vegan cheese also tastes exactly like dairy cheese so that’s a bonus. Will definitely come in again.

Went to the one opposite Barclays bank first and got a passive aggressive server who didn't seem to want to serve. No welcome, no smile, just told to move to the left in an unfriendly manner. (there was a sign but as I'm unfamiliar with Subway I didn't notice at first). So I moved left and then got ignored and eventually told "sorry" we are dealing with a spill behind the counter!. He then went and got a mop and did his thing. By that time my confidence that he would wash his hands and not bark at me had evaporated. I was reminded of an episode of Jerry Seinfeld where they visit a soup takeaway (The soup ****) where if you do not follow the procedures to the letter they say "no soup for you!" I wasn't going to wait to find out if the same fate awaited me so I quietly left before he came back. I was curious if the other Subway was comparable and sad to say it was! I did however stay to let the experience run it's course. It was that same bossy "passive aggressive" disposition that prevailed in the previous shop. I got the "upselling" routine and had to, forcefully a number of times insist that the meal deal price on the board was all I wanted to pay and that led to bring rationed to a skimpy amount of ingredients (nothing like the picture). I could see this had pressed his buttons. In the end I got the sandwich and drink and sat down at an unsanitized table but with a nice view and comfortable seats.That I pointed out to him and I asked for cleaning materials to do it myself he then pointed for me to sit in a corner. I refused and said I'll wait for you to finish cleaning which he did, although it was cursory. He then realized that he was out of his depth with the officiousness because I was having non of it. I sat in my original seat and finished my sandwich and it then seemed like my insistence had prompted a charade of sweeping and cleaning other tables and floor areas which I notice was not thorough and seemed like"grandstanding". In my opinion there is a training issue and a business model issue. If you put what I consider to be poorly trained high pressure sales persons behind a counter with what seemed to me, like an opaque menu that consists of single unpublished add on's masked by a base price, making the finished product more expensive than advertised and without being told the final price with an opportunity to decline until pay time at the other end of the counter. Hence the risk is you may get staff ignoring other important issues which I seem to have observed first hand. I noticed that on the business profile at the time of writing they are short staffed for table turnaround cleaning staff. Which may account for part of my experience. However, that leads to seams between cooking and serving and cleaning and there has to be hygiene barriers observed between. The risk that after cleaning they are breached may well be incentivised by the time pressure it creates. Hopefully my comments will be taken on board and improvements will be swift and lead to happy customers and staff. Every business should acknowledge shortcomings, make changes and move on I hope my next visit to"Subway" will be like visiting a 5 star hotel and not, well...a subway!!

Not great the sandwich was OK but when I had a footlong I wasn't asked if I needed a bag so when I helped myself they soon rushed over to me for the price

Not a great Subway. Very stingy with the toppings it's a battle to get more. Old/ran out items. You will be pushed 20 times to increase your meal cost upsell you inc packaging.

Great and helpful service. Everything as to be expected from a rapidly ordered sandwich shop. Sub tasted great too. No complaints and no issues. While I was in there, granted a little later than a normal lunch time, the tables were all empty so it would have been a nice quit and relaxing place to eat. However, like I sure many, decided on a take away as the weather was good.

Over charged and could not get my subpoints, or be given my receipt. Staff were unable to communicate with customers and had many health and safety issues in store. Nachos also came with marinara instead of salsa

Subway. It's reliable and you know what you're getting. Always feel like I've paid too much for what I got at the end of it though.

I like subway because it's cheap and you do sometimes get it the way you want. Sadly, one girl did ruin a day there since she didn't care about what she did with the sandwich and even burnt it in the oven. However, head office sorted that out and I have experienced better service since.

Extremely quick service and amazing food for a good price

It is a subway. The server was very efficient and friendly and despite that fact that it was nearly closing time he took the time to chat and made no attempt to rush us. The sandwiches were good too!

There are two Subways, quite close to each other in Derby... I'd recommend going to the other one. Service will be better with less casual lapses in food hygene!

Overall - Alright but could be improved. Their subs are average, and staff can be quite mediocre. Some do their job to a high standard, others just don't seem to care and act somewhat unprofessionally towards customers. Their hotchoclates have gone very south over the past 8 weeks of writing this review. They used to use steamed milk and make luxurious hotchoclates for a pound, now they are the most disgusting drinks you'll likely have. All they do now is hot water and 2 scoops of cadbury's hotchocolate. It tastes okay while it's hot but then as it gradually gets cooler the powder in hot chocolate becomes gritty and was flushed out, so all your are drinking is flushed out warm water, it also begins to sink to the bottom. They NEED to switch back to using steamed milk in order to get my custom again.
