The service was good - except one person who seemed a bit inexperienced. The big problem is the food in my opinion. The food styling was decent but the taste not at all. Very standard quality for the price. The atmosphere and decoration were great.

Last night we decided to give Stuzzi a second chance after a some what disappointing birthday meal a year or so ago. We were at a loss as to where to go out for some tea and so headed to Stuzzi. We hadn't booked but unluckily for us they had a table available. When we arrived I asked if they had GF options for their pasta which they said they had, later did we find their GF option was to swap out pasta and replace with beans, which from briefly looking over the recent reviews seems to be a bug barer for many ... which it would be, pasta vs beans? so many options in and around Leeds now give loads of GF pasta options which seems to be a bit of a dropped ball on Stuzzi's part, each to their own I suppose. Anyways, I just want to state that this is my first ever review, I really can't be bothered to review places but last night really did naff me off big style. We ordered 4 dishes for myself and mum to share and my partner order a couple of dishes for herself due to GF dietary requirements. When our food arrived we were a little underwhelmed at the portion sizes, £15 for essentially a starter portion of pasta, to double down on the disappointment we had ordered x2 pasta dishes.. so that's £30 for two small bowls of pasta. Arancini ball at £6 and 3 crochettes for £9... My partner ordered the steak £17.5 and a 'roasted' cauliflower dish at £8. When our food arrived my mum asked if we could have some plates, waiter said you've got plates to which my mum mentioned but they were cold, 'well yes, they've been on the table' the waiter replied.... What restaurant serves hot food and wants you to eat them off cold side plates??? Our dishes were extremely salty to say the least, but fine enough. But the steak came 'chargrilled' which was almost inedible, you know when you over cook sausages on a BBQ and there's that burnt crust that's just awful? well that was the chargrill, the cauliflower dish came out cold and was quite literally 2 flowers of the vegetable. Our waiter was more than happy to go into detail about each dish when serving but once served didn't come back to ask how thing were, if we needed anything else, fancied another drink etc etc etc. You'd expect a little more attentiveness from the place based on it's 'reputation' / 'brand'. We had to speak to another member of staff about the steak and cauliflower dishes, one was cold to the touch and the other burnt to a crust. Waitress said the cauliflower was supposed to be served as was, and the steak, again was served like that. Said member of staff then went to speak to the kitchen and said they would make up another cauliflower plate, to which we declined politely as we really weren't feeling it and the restaurant at this stage and just wanted to get out of the place in all honesty. At that point the waitress then just picked up what was remaining of said cold veg dish (£8 to remind you) and rudely stomped off. When we came to pay the bill the chap who came across with the card machine didn't ask how thing had been, so my partner decided to tell him, to which he sat back on the back of a chair with his arms crossed and nodded in what can only be described as a patronising up his own a$$ stance. All the chap could say is I'm sorry you've not had a good meal, no 'let me get you a drink' or 'I'll take the burnt steak off the bill'. Such a rubbish experience, so cr@p that I'm sat getting behind at work just to put this out there. From their website 'We believe our obsession delivers a glimpse of what’s on offer beyond the tourist traps into true Italy' True Italy isn't overpriced, small portioned Italian 'small plates' with a heavy pouring of patronised service... but if that's what you're after get your self down to Stuzzi. Rant over.... soz

First-Timer, Totally Impressed! I finally checked out Stuzzi for the first time, and wow, the food was amazing! We kicked things off with the Crostini di Ceci - so simple, but seriously tasty. Then came the Arancino, possibly the best I've ever had. The marinated Zucchini was super fresh, and the Patate Arrosti was cooked perfectly, and adjusted to make it vegetarian. The Tortellini was also delicious. To finish, we had the Cannolo... oh my goodness, that was incredible! Overall, Stuzzi totally exceeded my expectations. They take simple ingredients and turn them into something special. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Disappointing Experience. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The portion sizes were tiny, especially for the price, which made the meal feel incredibly overpriced. To make things worse, the menu was poorly labeled, and it was hard to tell which items were vegetarian or gluten-free. The staff were rude and seemed uninterested in helping when I asked for clarification. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and like they just didn’t care about customer service. Definitely not worth it.

We visited last night as Stuzzi had been somewhere the whole group had wanted to go for a while - however were sorely disappointed. The service was pretty appalling. We were given menus without dietaries, with a veggie and coeliac, it was annoying to not be asked any dietaries and wait for a menu to be annotated. I can't think of a restaurant I have been to lately where it is not clear from the menu itself. Despite calling in the week to confirm they can cater for gluten free where I was told 'all pasta dishes can be made gluten free', I was told the pasta is subbed for canneloni beans not gluten free pasta - so I think that should be clearer as we would not have visited. Many other independents offer much better gluten free alternatives. All staff members we encountered were rude and unhelpful. Putting dishes down on our table, and others, without talking to the customers. We weren't asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. We were not asked if we had been before and the menu/pricing itself was a bit random so explanation of how best to order in a group would have been useful. We asked and ordered a larger dish each, and were told it is quite common to order more if needed which we intended to do. However the service was so rude and slow that despite being hungry we decided to just pay and leave. When presented with the bill we asked for the service charge to be removed and were asked why and to point out which staff members we felt had been rude which wasn't exactly the most professional response. The food itself was okay, some flavours were good but portions were very small for the price. The wine was good and they do offer a gf foccacia! However it was a really poor experience for somewhere that seems to be raved about otherwise. Maybe this was a one off but it was particularly bad we will not be returning and we wish we had spent our money elsewhere for much better food and service.

They advised over the phone that they can do Gluten free pasta however when we arrived they told us they swap the pasta out for cannellini beans which was disappointing. The food was overpriced and underwhelming. One of the “starter” type dishes didn’t arrive so we had to ask for it and it only came out after we had eaten. The focaccia was dry and oily. We had to ask to order drinks as nobody had come over. The staff were unhelpful and clearly didn’t want to be there and then we were questioned when we asked for the service charge to be removed. Definitely won’t be returning. Plenty of amazing restaurants in Leeds that have great food and staff that are priced accordingly, this is not one of them.

First time visiting Stuzzi after rave recommendations from our son and his girlfriend who is half Italian. Will definitely go again, so impressed. Firstly friendly, welcoming staff throughout our visit. The food was amazing, so delicious, everything had wonderful touches. The prosciutto with house pickles and homemade grissini was fab. The arancino was so good. We had Triangoli with a caper, lemon and chilli sauce which was great and perfectly al dente. The standout for us was the rigatoni which got the highest praise from one of us "reminds me of my Nonna's food". Dog friendly too!

Food is high quality, but it's a frustrating experience. I'm sure once you know the menu well it's great, but the staff repeatedly advised us that we had ordered enough food, only when it came out was it clear that we hadn't. Starting positive the space is so lovely and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff and service too was great. I was dissapointed in the vegetarian options (I think there was one main and a few starters). My meat eater friend found her food okay. It’s a shame there isn’t at least one veggie staple as not being able to view a definitive menu (because it changes seasonally/depending on what’s available which I love as a concept but in practice for a vegetarian on a menu with few options it didn’t work great for me). Probably good for some but not if you already have limited dietary choices. It’s just luck if you end up liking the limited choice on the day.

Stuzzi is first rate - plain and simple. The building is interesting, not commercial or chain-decorated. The service is tremendous and the food - some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten (and we have just been to Amalfi). Thjs was a celebration of a graduation so there were a load of us there. We fancied nibbles first and then share starters and mains and the guys looking after us could not have been more helpful. The food is perfectly and inventively cooked and presented. The taste is superb - the burrata with various tomatoes is a great sharer. And the pasta was perfectly al dente - the slow roast beef dish was great. The wine worked very well with the food and it was very modestly priced. One of our favourite places to eat when up in Leeds and we will be back.

Foods good. Expensive though for the portions / decor and location. £7.60 for a 330ml can of northern monk (from down the road) is ridiculous 2 items weren't available. Burata was replaced with Mozzarella. Same price on menu likely cheaper ingredients Also had to have the default service removed (8.86%). If you want your staff earn more. Pay them more yourself. This isn't the USA and we shouldn't be accepting it. Also had to have a tree removed at £1.23 If you want to offset your emissions, then that is your problem and responsibility. Not the consumers. Won't be going back as a result of any of this.

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, if I could put 3.5 I would. I brought my partner here for his 30th birthday meal tonight, I’d first booked this place for my mum and dad and was told it was amazing so decided we must visit. We arrived on time and were shown to our table and given some water and the menus. Our drinks orders were taken, when the waiter brought our drinks back he asked us if we were ready to order. We asked for 2 more minutes to decide but he didn’t come back for 20 minutes unfortunately. We both had an appetiser but they were a little bit over cooked. The rest of our food was lovely, we really enjoyed it! One thing I wasn’t really keen on was all of the waitresses wearing low cut crop tops with their cleavage and stomachs out and leaning over the table, I don’t really want to see that when I’m out for a meal, it’s not professional and also it’s hard to tell who actually works there and who doesn’t. The customers were dressed more respectfully and covered up than the staff. Overall we really liked the food and the restaurant had a nice vibe to it. Will probably come back again another time. Great spot. Probs one of the best in Leeds. Great regular changing small plates menu, great Italian wine list plus they do a roast on Sundays. Staff always helpful. Dog friendly

Visited for lunch on Saturday 13th august Staff friendly and informed as it was our first time waiter suggested we pick 4 plates to share plus starters Well for starter we just picked bread and olives safe and tasty no complaints there Mains we picked stuffed courgette flower with ricotta , arancini, tagliatelle and pigs ears So all the “meat” on the menu was cheap cuts the pigs ears were awful truly challenging texture very odd !! Not for us , the tagliatelle I didn’t like either was greasy and at £14.50 for a small plate was very overpriced The other 2 dishes were ok nothing special Cheapest white wine was an Alsace at £28 and was very dull ! Bill came to £83 I did have a voucher for £30 but even with that off it was still way too much to pay Will definitely never return !

Excellent. Really cool. Ace small plates of something a little unusual but really tasty. The pasta was amazing as was the dessert. Quite a dynamic atmosphere and lots of staff around to serve. I'd highly recommend coming here and suggest being brave when choosing your dish, it's all so delicious.

The lamb dish and arrancino were the stars of the show by far. The pasta that they make and sell at the market are also lovely

First visit here and very impressed. Was busy but service was still good. Very interesting menu along Italian tapas lines. Lovely arancini parpadelle and steak strips to name check a few. Nicely presented with some lovely twists. Not cheap but still value for money. Don’t mind paying for quality. Definitely worth a visit

Hiya x Although reaching 30 years of age at times felt like it may be less of an inevitability and more of a factor of luck, I made it. As a result it was decided that a celebration was well and truly deserved. Stuzzi, which has fast become a culinary landmark and a place I would bet my belt buckle on to be the best spot in town, was the only choice for me. We were easily 4 negronis to the wind when we knocked on door asking if we had arrived on the correct day. “Yes, get in side with your silly selves” the kind clerk replied. We were met by a staggeringly long table for me and my many many friends to call our own for the next few hours. Straight from the word ciao we were met with smiles and offers of even more booze, delicious. The food was extraordinary and served at the exact right times, temperatures & textures. If you have chance and feel like treating yourself, these guys truly are purveyors of fine Italian stuff. Thanks for feeding us xxxxxxx

The food is good but the staff are really sullen. No smiles, no warmth, they looked a little out by our presence. Customer service needs work

Sharing antipasto board + 3 other starters and 2 main dishes was enough for four of us. I'd avoid the deep fried pasta if I went again.

I've never had such a delicious Sunday roast as here! The gravy was beautiful and thick (and lots of it), the potatoes and Yorkshire were stunning, but the meat just fell apart in your mouth. Absolutely lovely. It is dog friendly and they let us find a quiet corner so my dog didn't get too distracted. Service was friendly and excellent, and the wine was beautiful, a great selection and the waiter will let you try ones that are open. Only downside is that it's upstairs, so anyone with mobility issue couldn't come in.

Italian tapas, weird right? NO! Great food and a great variety of food at that. The dishes are a generous portion size, the pasta dishes we had were essentially a full portion. I wanted wine but wasn’t sure on which one so the waiter let me try a few and talked me through what would go well with the food. Would absolutely recommend, I’ll be going back for sure!

We’ve eaten at Stuzzi a few times now and we’ve never been disappointed. The food and service are amazing! Staff are attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We have something different every time we visit. Yesterday, was our first Sunday roast and it was gorgeous and we’ll be going back again soon. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely birthday celebration at Stuzzi this week! Stuzzi had been recommended by friends so many times and it did not disappoint! Staff were able to accommodate a large booking with little warning. Our waitress explained the menu to us and offered some advice on choosing dishes. We shared several small plates between us, all of which were delicious! The battered stuffed courgette flower was a highlight! The menu changes frequently so there are plenty of new things to try! It was a nice airy space with a chilled atmosphere. The restaurant also surprised us with a birthday dessert, which was very sweet! All together a lovely celebration, I am already looking forward to returning!

My youngest who lives in Leeds booked a table for 5-the building was nicely decorated-the food was okay but well overpriced for the amount received as were the drinks.Service was okay-however i was not aware of the sting in the tail when the bill was presented i was asked to pay a service charge of over £24 -now i have just checked the website and i don't see anything reference service charges and nothing was visible on menus.I paid the full bill but was not happy-in fact i think it is illegal found this on google - Some restaurants add a compulsory service charge to your bill, and others leave it to your discretion. "In essence you have the right to refuse to pay the service charge in either circumstance if the service falls below a reasonable standard. For me a tip is for the customer to decide- not a expectation by the restaurant to add a service charge - if the food the quality and service are good i tip. We thought it was overpriced and under served portion wise. Would i have tipped under normal circumstances no.

The homemade tomato pasta was a maverick take on an Italian classic cuisine. Focaccia bread was good. The decor is great, never seen a disco ball in a restaurant but I think it fits well inside. There is an assortment of authentic treats to buy...

We had really high hopes but unfortunately left a bit underwhelmed. Couple of very good plates and a couple of very average plates, it's a nice space in an interesting area.

Called in here last minute before a gig at the wardrobe. The staff were very friendly and although all the tables were full, made room for us to sit in the window seating to enjoy our dinner. The food was gorgeous, very tasty, decent sized portions. Everything tasted homemade and well thought out, pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection and the sauces were delicious. I am not sure how often dishes change but I had a lamb ragu dish which I really enjoyed, my friend had a gnocchi which again she thought was gorgeous.
