Food was good but pizza was really soggy and all the cheese fell off the pizza when I was eating it was very pricy as the bill was 181$

So, my husband booked this as a birthday surprise for me. He didn't tell me till very close to the time and I always look at reviews before committing. I looked at them anyway and saw how very dreadful the vast majority of them were. I can honestly say I was not hoping for much. How wrong was I. From the moment we arrived (which was half an hour early) we just thought we'd grab some drinks by the bar whilst waiting for our table. We were greeted by staff with the warmest of welcomes. Offered our table at time of arrival if we wished - we accepted. Our waiter who looked after us throughout our dinner was attentive (without being intrusive) funny, professional and made our experience thoroughly enjoyable. It was my first time at this restaurant and I told him what I like and he offered me the foods he thought matched. Let me tell you - they did. Our food arrived quickly (but not rushed) and each of the foods we ordered were absolutely beautiful. Both courses were super tasty and perfectly cooked. Even the "well done" steak my husband insists ordering (his preference) - much to my disappointment was just delicious. This has absolutely taught me not to judge based on other peoples reviews. We had a fabulous night and dining experience. Great start to my birthday celebrations.

Don't bother unless you want to be ripped off pasta was dry & dessert was tasteless

We had 3 coarse meals I have worked in Italian kitchens for almost 20 years. The lasagne is the best I have ever had . I can't fault the night we had there . The food and service was very good warm friendly and professional. I can't wait till our next time in a Gino's Restaurant All in all Fantastico . Thank you for a bloody good night.

Called in this Sunday for lunch. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Starters for three and a couple of pizzas with salad, all washed down with a bottle of rose. Great food and great team today. Keep up the good work.

The starters were right and uncomplicated. The main course was decent, though not particularly memorable or exciting—just okay. I had the pasta al frutti di mare (or perhaps it was al vongole?); the seafood, however, was fresh, seemingly unfrozen and of good quality with a firm and meaty texture. The dessert, unfortunately, was a disappointment. Serving a tasteless tiramisu marinated in alcohol in an Italian restaurant feels like a culinary offense! The highlight of the dinner was the overall experience, made even better by Dimitri’s excellent service, attention, and kindness. He truly elevated the evening, and I give him full credit for making it an enjoyable visit.

Wow the first time being here and everything was perfect - the food was exceptional. Was definitely worth the money and will definitely be coming back!

I went out with my family to Gino D'Acampo in Leeds city centre. The waitress service wasn't very good. One of my family members ordered Lasagne and the pasta was all burnt around the edges, I also ordered some tenderstem broccoli as a side to go with my main meal which was almost cold, even after sending the first portion back and under cooked. The waitress also managed to mess our 2nd drinks order up by bringing one of my family members a bottle of diet coke instead of coke zero. The food was definitely not up to the same high standard, as it was from a previous visit to the old Gino D'Acampo's in Leeds a good few years ago when we went to celebrate a family member's 60th birthday. The Lasagne was definitely not worth £18 and the tenderstem broccoli was a complete rip-off at £5.95 per portion. Overall a big disappointment and definitely not value for money and very much overpriced. Very disappointing indeed. There was also a 10 percent discretional service charge added to the whole bill for a party of five, making the final bill total £178,48p. Without the extra discretional service charge the bill was £162.25p Absolutely disgusting. Most definitely a complete rip-off and extremely bad value for money given the quality and standard of the food. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

Dimitri is amazing best service ever. Such a welcoming and lovely man. Made my friends birthday super special. She had a amazing time and I will continously come back to this restaurant as it's just so good. We had pasta and cake for dessert. The food is exquisite x

On a short trip paying a visit to my daughter at Leeds Uni. Started by cocktail tasting at the bar and am grateful to the delicate attention and drinks recommendation from Viktor and Debbie. Both were great hosts… If you are in a mood for something different the Banana Daiquiri; Mezcal Diavolo; and the Last Word were all great experiences. D’Acampo for dinner was a good finish. From the Primi to the Secondi the food had a good flavour all was well balanced although perhaps a touch too acidic (young tomato cherry perhaps?) but overall tasty and worth it. I must add that, the good humour, professionalism and impeccable service from Dimitri made the difference. His attention will make you forget any shortfall and appreciate the best only of the whole experience.

Absolutely incredible i must say it was on my first valentine's date with my girlfriend and we both are a sucker for Italian food. This is an amazing spot for the meal. The service was amazing the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was incredible definitely coming back here again for future dates that's for sure

UPDATE: I’m retracting my positive review of this restaurant after a terrible experience. This is unacceptable service for one of Leeds’ finer restaurants. We spent an hour and thirty-five minutes there, just for a main course and a drink. The restaurant was mostly empty, but we were waiting for 30 MINUTES before anyone came to take our order or check on us. By then, we were so deflated that we ordered our main courses and drinks immediately. It took another 10 minutes for someone to bring a bottle of water to our table, followed by another 10 minutes for our drinks. The mains finally arrived, and I had specifically ordered a vegetarian dish, but I got meat instead. The server asked, “Is that going to be a problem for you?” Shocking. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for a special occasion, because the service will ruin the joy. I definitely won’t be returning. I urge the restaurant to train their staff on basic etiquette and dietary requirements. I’m waiting for a resolution. Previous visit: Had a very nice meal, excellent service, great menu, looking forward to coming back !

Every dish was bursting with flavor!

Sunday evening visit - no atmosphere, almost empty. The staff were lovely and very professional, but both my chosen starter and main were not available (busy night on Saturday and sold out) My tuna was overcooked and very dry. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to the meal.

Loved the food and the atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Pasta cooked perfectly. Dessert platter also excellent. Tried the D'Acampo wines. Recommend to try once as a night out.

We had great experience, we reached earlier than our booking but they managed to give us table , food is very delicious, usually I don't eat eggplant but the way they made lasagnia it made me eat .verrry delicious..........must try vegetarian options

Great atmosphere, good food with a nice touch & really great service all round, well worth a visit. It was always busy too which is a great sign.

My partner and I had a sharing starter consisting of arancini balls, prawn bruschetta and tomato bruschetta, for mains I had the boar fettuccine and my partner had the lasagne. The food was overall extremely mid tier and dramatically overpriced for what it was. The service and the wine was good, but this could not make up for our disappointment at the food (that you could honestly make better at home). If you’re looking for an Italian in Leeds I’d recommend Sarto or Stuzzi and avoid this chain.

Great food,great service lovely styled restaurant. The Cocktails is a must got to be one of the best places in leeds to get the perfect cocktails.

I ordered veal in bread crumbs, It was so tough that I had a job cutting it, I was chewing over and over, and I was spitting it out as it wouldn't break down. The Mariot Hotel is great, but we will never go back to that restaurant that's inside the hotel again.

If you go to this restaurant Keep your coat on it is very cold. I was shivering by the time we left and since then I'm not at all well .

What an amazing lunch experience at the venue on Christmas Day. The restaurant was impeccably prepared, the staff (didn’t get the managers name) and Fenzi were simply on-point! The food was fantastic and was well worth the cost. You will definitely see us again. Well done 👏🏼

Visited for Xmas meal with friends, booked and paid deposit in advance. Table not ready on time, waited at least 20 minutes in bar area. Food ok but one off meals had a side order of veg that arrived after main course was finished, very disappointing. Bill arrived and forgot about deposit, don’t think they believed us at first. On leaving service was bad, even ended up having to go in coat area to get our own coats, which would worry me if visiting again. Maybe we were unlucky but it was not busy.

Thanks to Fenzi for serving us on Christmas Day. What a special meal for the family.

When you leave a place you should be talking about how much you’ve enjoyed the meal. (Which we did). Instead, all we were talking about is how much the service charge was. We we four people and had three bowls of pasta and a pizza. Service charge £21!!! This is disgraceful. Of course we did not pay it, but this is not something that the diner should have to ask to be removed from the bill. If a customer is happy with the food and wants to leave a tip then this should be at their own discretion.

This is my second review and I have to say I’m super impressed. We had a party of over 20 people in September and both the food and service pre booking and during the meal was excellent. Special thanks to our servers - Daniel, Aleks and Dimitri for looking after us.

Very disappointed ☹️. Stayed over in Marriott hotel last night and decided to order some food to the room. Unfortunately my veggie pasta had a piece of a bone in it and lasagne tasted of nothing. Bill is shocking. Two bottles of mineral water £11.50 which turns out to taste like tap water. £5 for brining it to a room in the same building and £9.11 for service on top of that? Shame on you.

We had a lovely meal in Gino's. We did not have to wait too long for our food and when it came it was hot and very tasty. The nduja spare ribs were particularly good, the meat just fell off the bone. We were looked after by Fenzi, who made sure we had everything we needed. He helped select the wine and his recommendation of the special creme brulee was very much appreciated, it was absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be returning. This is not a cheap restaurant, but the food and service and surroundings were excellent.

Been here today, 6 ladies for lunch whilst Christmas shopping in Leeds. Such a beautiful restaurant. Food was totally gorgeous and the staff were amazing. Daniel was super helpful, friendly and generous! And Giuseppe was lovely to chat to, a lovely man. The staff really made our visit, we can not wait to come back! Thank you all so much for such a lovely time, we didn’t want to leave!

Absolutely fantastic afternoon at gino’s in leeds. Our waiter, Dimitri, went above and beyond to make our visit the best possible. Always on hand, the guy is a credit to your restaurant. It was my birthday and kindly offered me a free glass of el vino. I work in hospitality myself and have done for many years and hard working people like dimitri are so hard to come by. The food was delicious and every bit what we have come to expect at this place. We visit gino’s all over the place, Liverpool, leeds, Newcastle etc and always stay in there hotels. The 360 bar in Liverpool is a must if you haven’t stayed there before. Myself and my partner would both like to meet him someday while we are staying at one of the hotels( the missus is more desperate for some reason)😂

Visited mid November 2024. Served by Fenzi. In a word - Fantastic. Visited late (9:45) as a hotel walk in, wasn’t expecting a warm reception given it was late but Fenzi made me feel instantly welcome, and didn’t make me feel like an inconvenience. Drinks were good, old fashioned was a bit generic but wine (suggested by Fenzi) was a great pairing. Food was great. We’re not talking fine dining, but simple, high quality ingredients with a bit of flare - it was brilliant. I was a little apprehensive, some chefs who put their name to an italian restaurant don’t take it seriously (see my scathing review of Jamie Oliver’s Italian place in Edinburgh..) but this is nothing like that. In summary, I’d recommend!

All the food was great. The restaurant was busy making for a good atmosphere. It was a bit slow from sitting down to ordering drinks/food but great service other than that

A significant downgrade compared to the old venue. Very overpriced as it's now part of the Marriott hotel. The food was incredibly bland and seemed like it was microwaved. You can get better mussels from Tesco that you boil. The service is very poor, not very friendly and didn't seem at all experienced. The staff seemed confused by basic requests and restaurant etiquette. (We waited 15 mins for our bottle of wine and then they struggled to open it) This place is trying way too hard pretending to be a stylish restaurant when the quality across the board is 1* and you'll end up paying £150 for 2 starters/main and some drinks. AVOID

Very disappointed after trying this restaurant again for the first time since visiting shortly after it first opened in Leeds. Our waiter seemed to often get confused by our quite simple orders and kept mishearing us which became frustrating. This possibility wasn’t helped by the loud, inappropriate music playing. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our main courses which all arrived barely warm and were average at best. The lasagna was especially bad and tasted nothing like a real lasagna should. Being part Italian myself, Gino should be ashamed of having his name attached to a restaurant that serves such mediocre Italian food. Lastly the prices were very high and portions were small for what you pay for. We definitely won’t be back.

Disappointing! Despite the nice atmosphere and friendly staff, I was disappointed with my visit this evening. A glass of wine that cost a tenner was just “okay”, I asked for a bottle of cider but they were out of stock, asked for a coke instead but was given Diet Coke, the pasta I got was very bland, the light above our table was broken so we were sat in a dark spot, etc. Service was very friendly and happily paid his tip, but honestly not worth the £75 we paid, not by a long shot.

Really nice restaurant, lots of room and good service. Our server Dimitri was fab and really attentive. The food was a bit of a mixed bag though. The starters and the garlic foccacia bread were lovely. But the main pasta dishes were a bit disappointing, quite bland and little flavour. I wasn't too impressed with the wine either. I would give it another chance, but perhaps would order not a pasta dish.

Booked for a friends birthday. They were 17 guests and we all received a complimentary drink on arrival. we all enjoyed our starters and main course, all delicious. The atmosphere was warm and cosy. We were served by Daniel who was very attentive and informative as was the rest of the staff. Nothing seemed to much trouble.

Sat down at ten past six and ordered at quarter past making clear we needed to be done by 7 as we had an appointment. To help with this we kept the order simple and ordered a plain starter and simple pasta dishes, and were assured we would be fine. Starter came quite quick, but at 6.45 after minimal attention I got up to ask the manager what was going on. Eventually got served at 6.50, food really hot and struggled to eat half in the time available. The place wasn't even busy. Food was OK, experience not. Difficult to recommend the place after that experience.

Had a fantastic time at Ginos waitress welcomed us with a fantastic manner friendly. The waiter who served us was very nice made us feel special. The waiter asked if it was a special occasion I said yes my birthday then he came back with a glass of bubbly for me and my partner. Very nice touch. Theme decor of the restaurant was amazing and relaxing. I ordered a cocktail which taste amazing and looked gorgeous too. The food came out hot and vey tasty. The service from the staff was great. Had no complaints at all everything was prefect. Enjoyed our evening at Ginos will definitely recommend this restaurant. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

Fabulous meal and service, we couldn’t fault a thing! We stayed at the hotel and decided to try the restaurant, it certainly didn’t disappoint and the prices were really reasonable. We were well looked after by Fenzi, what a lovely guy and a credit to the restaurant. Would highly recommend!

The team here are brilliant. So helpful and accommodating. They really go the extra mile and are very friendly. I ate here two days running while visiting my father in hospital and staying at the hotel. Just wanted to say thank you for being so kind to us and especially my elderly mother.

Last minute celebration today, Fenzi our waiter was absolutely amazing, friendly, polite, attentive and funny. A real credit to the company, thank you for making it special. Oh and obviously the food was exquisite 💯
