Studio Gusto - Italian Restaurant in Bromley

We were staying at the Premierinn and found this place a short walk away. Staff very welcoming and the food was very good indeed. Waiters had good knowledge of the menu and wine list certainly large enough. Would visit again

We travelled a long way to a nearby theatre on a Monday evening, so we popped into this restaurant which was reasonably for an early Monday evening. We were asked on arrived if we were going to the theatre which we confirm and the time. We had about an hour and a quarter to get a quick dinner. We ordered a dish of olives to start followed by two simple pasta dishes. The order was taken within 10 mins of arrival including drinks. The drinks arrived fairly swiftly then, nothing. There were two other couples who had arrived just before us and were also attending the theatre. After 35 mins I asked what has happening and they said it’ll be about five minutes. 10-15 mins passed and still nothing. The manager (I presume) told us they had a problem in the kitchen as they weren’t expecting to be as busy as they were and the rotas had already been done and they didn’t have enough staff in the kitchen. Not really my problem, but had they said that in the beginning, we would have understood and made an informed decision as to what to do. In the end we and one of the couples left without eating. Not even the olives arrived, that shouldn’t have been too difficult to sort. Needless to say, if we were attending that theatre again, we won’t both with this restaurant beforehand. On a small upside, when I offered to pay for the drinks on our way out, they did waive the charge. Sorry, but simple communication to your customers would have made all the difference.

We had a fantastic evening at Studio Gusto! The staff are simply lovely, utterly professional offering a true Italian welcome. The food was exceptional! I truly believe this is the best Italian in South London!! Simple, tasty authentic Italian dishes. That you know are using the best ingredients, as Italians do! I ate Barrera to start which was beautifully fresh tasting, followed by the most delicious lasagne! We also couldn’t leave without sharing a desert and wow, that was amazing too! Tiramisu, so light and tasty. I would visit for a coffee in the afternoon as a legitimate excuse to have a dessert! We were there last Friday evening and the restaurant was buzzing. The atmosphere was great. We were lucky and booked last minute, but I would say book ahead. I can’t wait to go back. Definitely going to book ahead.

I have been a regular here for more than two years. Love it ….staff and food great. Today I turned up around 5.00 to relax and have an early meal At around 7.00 I was offered a dessert menu an I still had a full glass of wine. At that point the “manager” came to my table and said you have to leave in five minutes. I said I have I want a dessert and I have a full glass of wine. He said it doesn’t matter you have to go. His last words “ have a nice day” Not a lot else to say.

Sunday lunch with my family. Service to be improved. Very good food. Risotto prawns zucchini and saffron wow!!!!! Desserts delicious! I will back soon!!!

This is a great place to have a relaxed meal while shopping in Bromley as it is just a few steps away from the business of The Glades or the high street, but is much quieter with well spaced tables. We were warmly welcomed and seated by the window so we could watch the world go by. There is a wide selection of pasta dishes, pizzas, and other main meals. I enjoyed penne with prawns, courgette and cream and it was delicious, only a small amount of cream so not too rich. The house white wine was very good. Service throughout was charming and well timed. My only criticism would be the affogatto I had for my dessert. I chose from the A la carte menu so for £6 I expected more than one small scoop of vanilla icecream. it wasn't enough for the little jug of coffee. It is a bit expensive but I would lunch there again.

Third time back & once again it didn't disappoint. The staff are so lovely and always happy to help, the food was amazing, so so good. I'll definitely be back! So good to have such a great place to eat out in Bromley!

I don't like to leave negative reviews but on this occasion the experience leaves me no choice We tried this restaurant today for a late lunch we found the staff unfriendly we had to ask for the menus ,no offer of water they forgot to put the order to the kitchen for the main course no apology from the waitress or manager for keeping us waiting, food was only ok at best never again

I wanted to eat everything. Now I know why the ancient romans ate, vomited to make space and ate again! A lovely break from Xmas shopping and the freezing weather. Experience on NYE. Last time we visited, my pasta was half cooked. NOT al dente, as they tried to pretend, but half raw - I should know, I used to work in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant - I do know the difference. This time it was the pizza - simply dreadful. rock hard, arrived at table not cut, normal knife not much use - I should have asked for a steak knife. This was so poor. Scant, flavourless tomato "sauce". I had ordered pizza Napoli "with garlic and anchovies al Cetara". No way were these the flavoursome Adriatic beauties they should have been. More like cheap, low grade Moroccan fillets from a tin. Horrid, The Mrs ordered Pasta Carbonara, and complained that it was oily. So, an "Italian resto" that cannot satisfactorily cook pasta OR pizza - staple fare, surely ? half way through this disappointing repast I noticed a small menu on the adjacent table, and looked at it. It was the Specials menu, which the bored and lackadaisical staff had not bothered to show us - I could have been tempted by a couple of the items on that, but was not given the option. poor food, badly cooked, presented by staff who gave the impression of not bothering or caring at all. In these hard times, one would have thought that catering establishments would actually have been trying harder. Obviously not. Will not return, and certainly do not recommend to anyone.

I had a long leisurely late lunch here catching up with an old friend. I had steak in mushroom sauce with fries & salad. It was tender & delicious. My friend enjoyed his fried squid meal. My friend said the ingredients are always fresh & high quality here. Pleasant atmosphere with a few tables occupied but not crowded. Good friendly service. Fair prices.

Fantastic food and service… wasn’t expecting to be in Bromley and found this gem just 2 minutes walk from the train station… would definitely come again when I’m in the area

Unbelievable Italian experience! Packed on a Wednesday evening and so glad we booked in advance. Decent prices per plate along with generous tasty portions. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cannoli sweet was so good I can still taste it.

I always walked past this place and thought why not give it a go, well i did last night with my partner and i regret i did. Waited almost 20 min to be asked what i wanted to drink, house wine tasted white vinager, food arrived no more than 5 min after ordered which made me question loads, lack of service, place poorly made and a lack of engage with waiters. Plus all of my drinks dropped on my lap by the waiter which he apologised. I guess it was not my lucky day

We arrived at 5.30pm as booked and the restaurant was quite empty. We had to wait 20 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered drinks, starters and mains all as the same time. Drinks and starters arrived eventually but at 7pm we had still not received our mains. We had asked 4 times where our food was and was told it was coming. In the end we had to leave without eating our mains as we were seeing a show. This is advertised as a pre-theatre meal restaurant. Well if you want to see your show don't eat here.

Booked a quiet table for two, unfortunately turned up late, but we’re invited in like long lost friends by the wonderful friendly owner and staff. Lovely table in the corner.They were very attentive, when we needed them and were left on our own when we didn’t!The food was delicious, simple fare, done well. I had pollo milanese and my partner had a pizza after we shared bruschetta. A couple of cocktails each and a few beers.We spent a lovely couple of hours in the restaurant and will definitely be returning.Thank you for a lovely evening

The atmosphere is lovely, the food is lovely and the service can be a little chaotic when its busy, but somehow that adds to the charm, can thoroughly recommend it and we can't wait for the next time we go.

Food ok but you're cheek by jowl with other customers, the music is much too loud and there's no intimacy and no atmosphere. If you're ok with feeling like part of a production line, then fine. But if you want a special evening, forget it.

A very busy evening at Studio Gusto Wed 4th Nov. A full house a beautiful atmosphere with wonderful Italian music. Raffaele and his staff were very helpful and kind. The food was delicious as always. My Friend and I were recommended the Frascati superiore (white wine) and some of the lovely cocktails. (Good choice). It was also lovely to here from Raffaele that he will be continuing to service the lovely food as a takeaway and serving the delicious coffee's etc and the Italian groceries during the 4 weeks lock-down. Thanks again.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant in Bromley. We have been here many times, and the food is always delicious. The owner and staff are all lovely. I can highly recommend the pizza piccante!

Excellent little restaurant. Having passed it on the high street for many years we thought we should really give it a try to support local businesses. I’m so glad we did! The food is excellent, well priced, hearty portions and piping hot. I highly recommend the prawns and meatballs as starters and the lasagna, carbonara or pizza for main. Unfortunately we were too stuffed for dessert but look forward to trying it next time. Having spent a week in Italy over the summer this place is very authentic and the tv screens showing the sites of Italy are a great touch. We look forward to returning.

Lovely Italian with fresh pasta and excellent staff. Welcoming restaurant with exceptional choice of pasta and pizza and mains. Ice cream was delicious and perfect way to end the meal. We were brought complimentary limoncello with the bill which rounded off a perfect meal.

It was my first time ordering food from studio gusto - a neighbour recommended it. I ordered online for myself and parents and collected it from the restaurant. It was so yummy!!!! Really generous portion sizes too. When the restaurant reopens I will definitely be dining there and choosing to support a local business rather than the Italian chains I used to just opt for. The staff seemed really friendly when I went to collect the order too.

A big thank you to Raffaele and his team for all their kindness and support. Raffaele took it upon himself to open up his lovely restaurant and set up as a takeaway serving lovely food and wonderful coffees etc.Raffaele has been opened since the lockdown (Covid 19) started in mid-March. There was no other service serving hot food and coffees etc as a takeaway. Raffaele was a godsend to the local community providing us with a reasonably priced large cup of delicious coffee with a free biscuit. You can also purchase lovely Italian groceries from his restaurant. I will continue to buy my coffee from this lovely restaurant and I have spoken to a lot of local people who have also said the same.Than you Raffaele.Maria x

A portion of Garlic Bread with cheese (2 slices of bread) was £4.00. RIP OFF. There should be a minimum of 3 pieces for that price, if not 4 as is traditional. Tasted average as well. I can make better G bread at home myself. Pizza tasted decent but not that big, approx 10 inch which was their only size on offer. Tasted ok but nothing to shout about. Was hoping to have a different pizza experience to the oil ladened slop of pizza hut, domino’s etc but sadly I still feel the same - you just cant get good pizza in South London or even the UK!

I bought a Colomba for Easter and it was the best Colomba I ever had, other than the fact that the man gave me some interesting tips to serve it in the best way possible. Moreover, he is always very kind and happy to see me, I will go there to eat when this period of emergency will be finished!!!

He estado allí hace unos días para almorzar, ya que soy un italiano que vive en el extranjero y a veces extraño la comida italiana. Primero pedí una carbonara, lo que probablemente no hubiera sido tan malo si el cocinero no le pusiera tanta pimienta. Después de eso, pedí un tirasmis, a pesar de que quería un cannolo (que no pude pedir solo porque aparentemente el desierto incluye 3 de ellos, que en mi opinión deberían cambiarse). La crema de mascarpone era buena, pero los savoiardi estaban demasiado empapados e hicieron que la tiramis fuera demasiado abundante y no muy buena.Los precios son bastante altos, pero creo que las pizzas no son tan caras.Normalmente no volvería, pero creo que lo haré y probaré algo diferente, probablemente pizza.

Visited the restaurant as a big group on a Friday evening. Booked for 8:30pm. Was already fairly busy in there. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Would say the food was quite expensive but nice for the odd occasion. Typical Italian restaurant menu. I did notice on the menu that if a guest required a special dietary meal or had allergies, this was possible but they would have to pay a service charge (10% I think). Our party didn’t need this but I thought that was very discriminative and disgusting, very unfair. Our party had a lovely time and enjoyed the meal.

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here today. Fabulous, bruschetta, delicious pasta and an incredible pizza. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Ordered four cheese pizza and might as well have been garlic bread as no topping, my wife’s vegetarian pizza was just tomato sauce and a sprinkle of cheese swimming in oil. Will never go there again, ruined a lovely evening.

Myself and my partner visited yesterday (our second time) and had an extremely warm welcome from the owner who recognised us from last time which was lovely. That said - all the staff are super friendly and attentive.

This is our favourite italian restaurant EVER! Raphaelle and his staff are all so lovely and helpful... the food is amazing and plentiful, the restaurant is immaculate and we love the opera music they have playing in the background.

Went here for a pre theatre meal. It is a lovely restaurant nicely spaced tables, three different menus with different price ranges and offers. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and the food was lovely.

service very slow it was our fault the kitchen sent wrong main course the potatoes were undercooked and still raw in places to get extra drinks was a pain for the staff the bill was made up wrongly including paying for meal we didn't have and made to feel this was our problem will never go there again and would strongly recommend anyone to avoid

We turned up without a booking, at around 8.30pm on Saturday night. Despite being busy, we had a genuinely warm welcome, and were led to a table. We love and visit Italy often, and this place is the real deal. Owner run, which is better than going to some chain restaurant. Food great, service is warm and friendly. They also had Andrea Bocelli playing in the background, which added to the ambience. Great food & wine, friendly people, and just a lovely feel to this restaurant. We will make this our regular restaurant from now on.

Found this after Churchill Theatre visit. Lovely welcome..excellent food in nice surroundings. We felt as we were regular diners there. Pleasant staff and boss.

My husband and I chose this little restaurant on the high street after going to the Vue cinema as regrettably St Mark’s square still only has Nando’s and pizza express and it was the best other option close to the station. It was what we expected nothing grand just a nice family run Italian restaurant with sufficient menu. Ok it was only 6pm on a Sunday so not busy but the staff and service could not be faulted. The food was just right, tasty authentic good portions. I am shocked by a review criticising it hugely for petty things like tap water not being brought on demand. I personally go to a restaurant to drink wine with my meal ! It doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is situated on that part of Bromley high street so if it’s not up to someone’s expectations maybe they don’t have much experience of dining out or are just serial complainers.

The headline tells you what you need to know. We came here for lunch on 11 September 2019 and have been back twice more since then. Each time has been for lunch as part of a shopping trip to Bromley, so we parked in The Glades and walked to the restaurant.

I first came here in 2007 and fell in love, we currently come here quite regularly and are never disappointed. It's very reasonably priced and kids eat for £1 with a paying adult. I really fancied a steak tonight and went for the T-bone, which was superb not to mention huge.

Website misleading. Poor quality food and service. Would not recommend at all! Nobody asked us how our food was and we were ignored. Food turned up and we had no cutlery.

A real find in Bromley authentic Italian food, cooked and served by Italians, hard to find even in so called Italian restaurants, at a reasonable price, great atmosphere, really friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back and can definitely recommend.

My girlfriend and I went here for a few quiet drinks and some nibbles, they were highly accommodating even though we didn't want a full sit down meal. The waitresses were great fun and service was superb. Most of all the starters we shared were so good and the beer, wine and cocktails were great. It didn't feel like we were in Bromley High St and we would highly recommend this place. Thanks to all and see you again soon.

Just lovely - the food was lovely and so was the wine! Just popped in for lunch when staying at a nearby hotel and so pleased that we did. Food was amazing. Breaded chicken with pasta, and it was so tasty.

Back to Studio Gusto, sadly not been for a little while but the lovely owner recognised us as soon as we arrived and was so welcoming. We just love the ambience there and we took some friends; they were also made to feel just as welcome. The food was outstanding as always, cooked fresh, great tastes and good-sized portions. We had another fantastic night and we would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful restaurant; cannot wait to return.

We went for a Sunday lunch, the food did not disappoint, service was on point. I am always on the lookout for a good Italian restaurant, I think I’ve found it.

The restaurant was very family friendly, pasta and pesto for the little man was great. Adults mains were standard at best, notable lack of freshly made or fresh ingredients.The pasta isn’t home made but dried, the calamari pre-frozen, tartar sauce out of a jar. Crab in the linguine pre frozen. The pizza base was a bit thick but the pizza was the better option. It was fine, but not exactly like nonna used to make. We wanted to support a local place instead of going to carluccios, but if only the food could be as good as the friendly service...

We have had some very pleasant meals and been treated so well. I really enjoy going there as I feel valued. I can't say that about many restaurants I go to. My husband love Andrea Bocelli and they always put his music on for my husband.

Went on Saturday night, for a date. Food was great - very subtle and flavoursome. Staff were very attentive, but not in your face. Highly recommended!

We come here about once a month and always have a great time. It's proper Italian food, cooked by Italians! The restaurant was a bit of a hidden gem, but now seems to be increasingly popular. We last visited on a Friday evening; by the time we left, at 9:30pm, it was packed.
