Stringfellows - Gentleman's Club and Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

You might not expect to go to Stringfellows and have an outstanding meal, but lone behold we did. Think Langans with a better view...

We went as a couple to the gentlemens club, Angels, owned by Peter Stringfellow in Soho. What a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful club. As a lady, I didn't feel at all intimidated and the girls who work there were very polite, pretty and respectful. I have read about various strip clubs where you come out feeling you have been forced to spend a fortune, whereas this place was not like this at all. We had a couple of bar snacks, a bottle of champagne (charged at the same price we would expect to pay in ANY London club) and we were not hassled or pushed in any way at all. All the staff were courteous and polite. I would highly recommend it, and I now look forward to visiting the other club in Covent Garden as well

I was hosting a business meeting and was stuck looking after the group in the evening. I took them to Stringfellows and was so impressed by the quality of service. Being the only girl in the group I was a bit nervous going to a gentleman's club but the staff were incredible and helped with my clients - while still making sure my champagne was constantly topped up! I highly recommend Stringfellows!

Had an unexpected opportunity to visit Stringfellow’s during their Easter party - unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable. Have to say there are some really awesome girls there, beautiful, sexy & attentive, friendly staff and all around fantastic atmosphere on the night. We began the evening with dinner from their al la carte menu and together with the view and excellent food & drinks, our group of five guys couldn’t have been in a better mood to party, especially after few private dances and "bunny" parade! Thanks to all at Stringfellow’s for making our night outstanding, definitely will be back!

I am genuinely shocked by the experience I had here. I was expecting a nice evening out with my beautiful wife of 13 years and children that would uphold our steadfast Catholic lifestyle but instead I got this!!!!1!!! Appalled by the status of some of the women in there, they are worth more than just objects for the sex appeal of customers and deserve to be treated with more respect! I genuinely expected a venue of such moral lows to have a name like "Big D's Sex Dungeon" or "Discount Kebabs" but no, even when you banish the filthy claws of Satan from your life and live on a remote monastery in Burma wearing chastity belts and refusing to talk to debauched sinners he still finds his way back in disguising himself as a thorough family restaurant! Would not recommend!!!1!!! Value women more.

This was my first visit to Stringfellows. Four of us went along for a meal and to enjoy the entertainment. Stringfellows has a pleasant atmosphere and I would recommend it for a 'boys' night out. They offer a limited menu of three courses. The food was plentiful and perfectly acceptable but not exceptional.Given the clubs offering you pay for the entertainment but there is no pressure to do so and the 'staff' are absolutely delightful.

A foreign VIP was in town for business so I took him to Stringfellow's for an after-hours drink. I also wanted to consider the venue for a female-friendly burlesque dinner with my wife and some friends. It all seemed great .... until I saw the bill.We got fleeced. I had been overcharged (4x) for things I did buy, and charged for things I didn't buy. It seems that the disarming girls make up prices according to how drunk customers appear and pay close attention to PINs for card transactions.I have dropped by a few times since to complain, but there's never anyone available. If the Manager responds to this review, I'd be keen to discuss what happened. I hope they take this cheating seriously and act appropriately. If so, I'll happily update my review.Otherwise, I suggest that any guys who are stupid enough to go there (a) be on guard, (b) ask to see the price list and (c) pay in cash on the spot for every drink/dance. Stringfellow's can be a very expensive mistake.

Aside from what you would expect from a high class gentlemen's club the food and service was first class.Very good quality and a high standard of service with the added bonus of great views. The steak was cooked perfectly and although you are paying premium prices the overall ambiance and non-pressurised environment is a refreshing touch compared to what your perceptions may be prior to visiting,

Six in total, three couples were out for dinner, to my surprise I was told were going to, Stringfellows!! My reply was WHAT, that's a strip club!!How wrong I was!!We were all taken back the high quality service offered by the restaurant manager, Turan and his staff.I went for the roast chicken, and my other half went for simple, fish and chips. As you will see by the photos I've taken, the food was quality and well presented, with good old fashion home made chips!!The wine was reasonably priced.Oh yes there were girls dancing too, very tastefully though, not in your face, and not a seedy place that anyone might wrongly imagine.All six of us had an excellent night, and are all looking forward to our return to London, we will be back!!!

Forget the obvious, the big surprise is the great dining at Stringfellows.An excellent menu choice and in particular the fish dishes, wonderful service and very reasonable prices. The cooking is traditional and straightforward, my roasted cod was superb and substantial.This really is a very pleasant surprise.

Went to Stringfellows the other night to watch the Rugby World Cup (amongst other sightseeing) and decided to try the restaurant thinking that it would be just OK.To my surprise the food was not only OK but actually superb, the Calamari lightly coated and just the perfect texture followed by a magnificent piece of linen white juicy cod and twice cooked French fries...service brilliant and the bill low...the Worlds a better place to live!

I recommend the restaurant section where you can fine dine by watching the ladies dancing.. There are some dark curtained corners that you may have more leisure..

My wife & I spent the evening at Stringfellows on 18/9/15. We loved the club. The decor was luxurious and the food in the resteruant was excellent. Must give a mention to the staff who couldn't do enough for you. A very well run club. There were quite a few couples there and my wife felt completely comfortable in the environment. We look forward to returning soon.

God where do I start. Having a few drinks with friends and ended up here. Heard it was a good place for drinks and a night out with old friends.Won't go into the details but we did have a great night BUT...and that is a HUGE BUT...after doing my banking the next day, I found that there were transactions in there that I did not make. Over £1000 in fact.I contacted them right away and asked to speak to the manager. I questioned him about what the transactions were for and he said that is how much an hour is with 2 girls. Now, I wasn't drunk and remember the night clearly and I definitely did not have 2 girls dancing.I requested that I see the CCTV, and after doing so, clearly showed I was with just the 1 girl. I asked the manager to view the footage, which he has done so and confirms that I was charged correctly because I used chip and pin, which is absolute nonsense.I watched the CCTV and before I was handed the chip and pin terminal, the hostess already confirmed the amount (which is actually illegal). I agreed an amount verbally and assumed the chip and pin was the same. It was not. Over £1000 on a fictitious girl. I am still disputing this case with management and I will report back to inform those who are planning to go, or those whom have already been - to hide your pin and ALWAYS check the amount when being handed the chip and pin terminal!! If the amount is not on there, ASK how much you are being charged!!On the outside of it, they try to come across as a 'respectable gentlemen's club' and this place is most certainly not.

6 of us decided to go here for a drink and a nosy, this was always somewhere I had wanted to go and see. On arrival you have to pay £20 each, abit steep if you ask me, as soon as you go in the bar is on the right, opposite there is a half moon couch where, I presume were some of the dancers, ( looked like a brothal) there were 2 girls dancing, and they looked like they really didn't want to be there, no smiles or nothing, we got our drinks ( well expensive ) and were told we could go downstairs, so we did, dark and dingy sprang to mind, we sat at a table to be told, we could only sit there if we bought a bottle of champagne ( mmm think not ), then a girl appeared, got on stage did abit of bending her knees with her back up against the pole did one dance and went off, what a boring place, indeed. I really thought that Stringfellows was going going to be abit more up market and extravagant, not dark, dingy and brothal looking, not that I have been in one, definitely will not be going back, disappointed to say the least.

A great night out, I've been to a couple of places like this before, but this is the best. And unlike some reps that you hear about them, Stringfellows was a breath of fresh air and nothing like others I've been to. Obviously to want to go in a place like this you need to not worry too much about spending a bit, and here you don't feel pressured into anything. My friends and I ate in the excellent restaurant, and indulged later in the attentions of some stunning and quite frankly, fun girls!The music was a great mix, I even heard some old classics which got us all up and dancing around! I can't tell you what I spent, but I know it was worth it! We will be back!

I wanted to treat a lovely old man in his 80's to a night out to remember and it exceeded all expectations. The gentleman is mostly confined to a wheelchair but that proved no problem at all. We received wonderful service right from the doormen to the waiters to the girls and made an old man very happy in the process. The food was wonderful. Cleanly presented. My steak was cooked to perfection as was the Dover Sole. Nicely presented and all the components recognizable. None of that over elaborate rubbish that so many restaurants are delivering these days. An altogether classy establishment. The girls are stunningly gorgeous, sexy and charming. A very glamorous establishment and thankfully not the slightest bit vulgar. Cant wait to return.

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife, the steak was as good as you can find anywhere and the service rates as the best I ever experienced. A perfect place to take a partner for a unique and a night to remember. To top it all of Peter Stringfellow came for a chat and took a photo with us, a true gent. Give it a try!

This restaurant exceeded my expectations in every respect. The service was friendly and professional and the food was superb. I had the fresh Dover Sole and my friend had the Rack of English Lamb. Both dishes were cooked to perfection.We would and will be visiting again soon !

Hi everyone I just had another great steak and my friend some awesome seafood at Stringfellows restaurant , at the club. OH and by the way did I forget to mention the great hospitality as well!!

The club was really nice from inside, excellent interior, helpful staff.Collection of girls was good too but the pole dance was not looking very real.Drinks and food very expensive and entry expensive too.One tine going is enough.

Kinda hard to review... after a lovely meal at the shard (the last booking available was at 6pm) were looking for somewhere interesting to go.... Apparently this stringfellows was a kinda check in the box thing to do. From a female point of view, meh.... from his point of view also meh. First, entry was 20GBP each, which i can assure you there are better venues to go to for 20GBP a night - i.e. the War ROOM... yes we got there early but all the girls where sitting on the bar stools having a conversation with one and other and the 2 on the stage (with the poles) where not doing much that anyone else could do. We decided to come back a further 2 hours later this Friday night and it was even worse... empty and the girls where still lined up. So its just a boring venue and honestly don't bother. This club is just a very tired lack lustre venue like going back 30 years... uninspiring... staggered its still open!

My girlfriend and I went to the Covent Garden Club on Saturday, We were greeted with a friendly smile and showed to our table. From that moment on, we couldn't have been treated any better by the staff.The wine list is excellent, and fairly priced for London's West End. The food was prepared from fresh (reccomend the steak!) and plentiful. The Girls were all excellent, none pushy and were up for a laugh. They certainly made my Girlfriend most welcome, and provided excellent entertainment throughout the evening!I have read most of the reviews on here, and have to add, that the negative one's, are quite defamatory and unrealistic. Like everything in life - you only get out, what you put in. If you don't wish to spend more than you can afford - don't do it! Thanks for a great night out.

We needed something different, and Stringfellows delivered in spades, you get a good steak, with girls! What more you could you ask for, yes its expensive, but after reading the other user reviews they seem to be saying their girlfriends found out, we had no problem, as we went in with eye wide open!!

I thought this was a premier establishment and at first glance it appears to be.As soon as we approached the bar we were literally surrounded by a gang of girls badgering us for drinks. Totally intimidating. It was like being pestered by street beggars in India.We paid for drinks which was expensive but we expected that, what we hadn't been told was the cost of a "dance"The fees are supposed to be transparent and all transactions discussed before hand. There weren't and my credit card was debited £480 with another £190 for a bottle of poor champagne.A good night out was spoiled by being totally fleeced. Won't go back.

I went to Stringfellows last night with my wife for a meal as I thought it would be a different experience for her. I had only been there previously with male business colleagues or friends. I wasn't sure how she would take it but after an initial level of trepidation with scantily clad girls wandering around us she soon realised it was a fun place to be with a great party atmosphere. We were given a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival and shown to our table. The meal was excellent and surprisingly the steak we had was one of the best we had had in London? The hospitality and level of service and table attendance from the restaurant staff was excellent. Following the meal we were escorted downstairs to a table facing the stage to watch the special Christmas parade by the Smtringfellows girls, great fun taken in a tasteful way as entertainment by my wife. We were introduced to Julian one of the Club directors who was very hospitable as was Chris the manager and Scott Stringfellow. Thank you all for a fabulous night and I would highly recommend to any couples who want a fun night out with great food and a atmosphere to match looking for something a bit different give Stringfellows in Covent Garden my wife loved it!!!

I stood at the bar having a drink with a girl and 20 minutes later she tried to charge me £350 (there had been no dance or anything and only a couple of drinks). They had my card (and wouldn't give it back!) so I couldn't leave - I refused to pay and security took me to the back room where eventually I ended up agreeing to pay £250 (still not actually sure what for).I'm not actually sure what they did was even legal - I was pretty close to calling the police but didn't want the hassle...Plenty of places to go in London - definitely avoid.

I was taken here by a friend one evening, now I like the odd visit to a lap dancing club where you can have a drink without getting hassled by the girls too much and pay £20 for the odd dance, but this place is no fun at all.As soon as you arrive you get totally mobbed by loads of girls......we must have had twenty around us hassling us to come and join them. Effectively until you have picked one and agreed to spend a ridiculous amount of money with them you don't get a minutes peace, it is a totally high pressure sales environment. Think of it like a timeshare sales meeting! The girls charge £480 for an hour of company and dancing......what a joke. As soon as you sit down you have someone coming at you with a credit card machine! This place was no fun and the girls are totally looking to rip you off. Aviod, aviod avoid!Go to a branch of Secrets for ten times the fun for ten times less money.

This club has been around for years under many different names, It is owned by the irresistible Peter Stringfellow and, is the place to watch and be seen with beautiful women, it is a place for celebrities so on many occasions you will see well know faces including Peter Stringfellow himself. Good food and any type of cocktail is available, Remember this it a top night club and prices match the venue and the title. Ambiance is good seating can be more formal or distinctly comfortable closing time is when last guest decides its time to call it a day certainly late, late. I went alone last June to Stringfellows (Covent Garden) and was very disappointed with what I received for my money. I was continually pursued by girls who wanted me to pay 200 pounds for a 30 minute private dance. The most persistent were 2 girls from Rumania who would not go away. I eventually agreed and paid 200 pounds, the girl told me that touching was OK. When she started the dance downstairs, I rapidly realised that there was no touching. My watch told me that she stopped dancing after 18 minutes rather than 30. I left Stringfellows feeling completely ripped off. I sent them an email saying what had happened but received no response.

I visited Stringfellows with a friend on a Saturday night in the early hours.Due to the reputation of the brand, I expected to enjoy a good night, however I was very, very wrong.The first impressions were not great. The door staff were unwelcoming and simply stated how much the entrance fee was. We paid the £20 fee each and entered the club. The first sting was the drinks prices. I was charged £7.00 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni served in a small glass.Before we could turn around we had been approached by two strippers from the club, making obviously fake attempts to let me know they liked me. The girl was nice enough but not stunning.As I had just entered I felt uncomfortable, as I wanted to experience the club and choose my moment if indeed I wanted to pay for a dance. We asked the girls if the downstairs was larger - in an attempt to get away and was told yes and they walked with us down the stairs.This is where the second alarm bell began ringing, as we attempted to sit down at a table to be approached by a bar man ushered over by the girls before we could even sit. We were told we could only sit here if we were purchasing Champagne. As I'd just bought a beer from the bar I declined and was told I couldn't sit there. I asked where I can sit and was told "at the bar"!.Me and my friend sat at the bar and lost the two girls once it was clear we were not buying anything at the moment. From the bar we could barely see the girls dancing on the poles. At this point I was regretting the decision to even walk in the place and feeling pretty much scammed.I decided to sit at another table closer to the 'action' - consisting of average girls performing poor routines, while a cheap sounding announcer made irrelevant comments over the PA system after a song.I noticed all the tables had 'reserved' cards on them, but I was damn sure sitting at one as I'd paid £27 at this point for nothing other than the privilege of entering the place, a bottle of Peroni, and a fair bit of hassle!As we drank we were continually asked if we'd like another drink. At this point, we gave up, finished our drink and left.This place is awful, don't believe the hype and save your money, as you won't get anything for it in here!

I took my clients to this famous place a few days ago. I had a few reservations based on previous experience with other similar establishments, but they insisted.I was very pleased. Stunning girls, perfect service, amazing food. Very professional and relaxed atmosphere. Obviously famous for a reason!

My wife booked a table for us for my birthday present. A bit sceptical as this is after all stringfellows! Well the reception was warm and welcoming, not once did my partner feel or be made to feel uncomfortable being in a strip club by any of the serving staff or dancers. It was very professional and I would highly reccomend for a night out with wife/partner with a bit of a difference. The food was excellent and good value considering where we were. I had salmon for starters and rib eye steak for mains. Both were excellent.

For a strip club the food is suprisingly very good! Large steaks with classic enlish starters! The place will never win a michellin star however you never go hungry!
