Really good pad thai. Tastes authentic, lots of flavours and not too sweet

The food is so good!!! This is the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten.

asked for extra spicy, it was a good choice. Went there in a group of three. Quite fun. Food left a bit to be desired, but it was a super pretty place

The food was tasty but the place is small. It's better for takeaway. There is only 1 chef and lots of takeaway orders so you might have to wait a bit.

I had an insanely good pad thai with prawns from this place last night delivered by deliveroo. Possibly the best pad thai I've ever had in my life.

We found it to be just OK. Food was prepared in front of you. The issue I had was that there were too many flies about and landing on your food and the uncooked ingredients so hygiene was a slight issue. This put me.off my food and my kids did not appreciate it. The staff are lovely people though and very helpful.

Had a lovely lunch. It was great to have the shelter outside. We will be back!

Updated in august 2024 This place used to be one of my absolute favourite restaurants in Eastbourne when it was "Thai StrEat". I would make sure to eat there almost everytime when go into town. It recently changed ownership and now called "Thai & Vietnamese Street Food". Went in today. Observations: #Improvements: More outdoor seating than before. #Not as good as before: - The price is lifted by about 50% comparing to previous ownership. A dish's price itself has gone up by 20% or so but they do not include rice or noodles anymore. So you have to pay for rice or noodles. Therefore, effectively it's about 50% increase on price. - Certain dish did not taste right and I had to send it back. but owner did refund, kudos to that. - atmosphere wise, it's lacking the "homy" "welcoming" personal feeling as it had before. Though, I gave it 3 stars because I know what it was like before the ownership change. It would still be a good place for quick food if you are in town. However, personally I wouldn't go back myself as it has lost what was special to me.

Wow lovely authentic Thai food I actually sat and watched the guy making the pad Thai I was sat at the bar watching him cook everything really enjoyed the meal the prices are very reasonable for the area.

I visited this Thai restaurant yesterday after watching the Airshow and decided to stop by on my way home. The service was great, and the prices were quite reasonable compared to other restaurants in town center . The quality of the food met my expectations. The only downside was that I was hoping to have a chicken pho, but it seems they only offer beef pho.

Everytime for the last year and half we come to eastbourne I have to eat here…. The food is incredible…..

Just popped in for lunch after recommendation and the food is so so good, you have to go. Service was great too. Will be back to try more!

Very local Thai and Vietnamese food!

Rebranded from StrEAT and has definitely stepped up a notch. Favourite SE Asian food in Eastbourne. Note that the ‘Vietnamese’ coffee is not the archetypal drip coffee into condensed milk, so not sure why it’s called that!

this is my second time eating here and the food is delicious and the service is great too ! I had 9 minutes until my train and the lovely people here made me a pad Thai within half the time ! It was soo tasty !!

So happy we found this little gem. Wonderfully warm service that we've known and loved in our time in Vietnam. It was great to chat with the owner and share our stories of her home country. I had the Bún with tofu (light, fresh and tasty) and cà phê sữa (traditional Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk). My partner had Pad Khing with beef. Looking forward to our next visit to Eastbourne - we will be back. Cảm ơn rất nhiều!

I visited Eastborne again after two years, and what I miss most is their delicious food. The store is small but very clean and warm, and you can see the owner's cooking process. I highly recommend the fish cake, which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It has a full fish flavor. There is also their pad thai. I ordered the king prawn. The prawns were very fresh and the powder was seasoned just right, with a balance of salty and sweet. If I have a chance to come back in the future, I will definitely come here again👍

For the past 12 years of my life I've always been going to the same owners of this Thai food restaurant. Absolutely fantastic, they have always been so kind and welcoming. everything you need they have. Every single dish is amazing...don't be scared to order something new or try something different. 12/10 guys

I could tell by the looks of the food that the person preparing it really puts his/her heart into the cooking and presentation. The food looks great and tastes very good. Very honest people. I was accidently overcharged. The stuff came to me on their own accord to offer me the refund. Careful. The guy who takes the order barely speaks English 🤣

Very delicious food for a very good price

Recommended by a friend who dined in this restaurant before and on her good recommendation we tried the food today. And was not disappointed. Ordered green curry ,chicken yellow curry and Thai fish cake. It’s excellent. Best in Eastbourne. With true Thai flavours. Two great guys served us . Reasonable pricing. Will definitely eat again.

We came to this restaurant to discover that they had been taken over by new owners, we were hungry and decided to order here anyways. We ended up paying twice the price for what we have normally ordered, the food tasted nice but not even close to the quality of food served here previously, really disappointed with the combination of mediocre food and extortionate prices. We won’t be visiting again :(

Just pooped in for lunch today had a Thai green curry with tofu and egg noodles with vegetables. This place is amazing!! The food was great the owner and staff were very warm and friendly as was the food! Very reasonably priced too! Highly recommend. :)

Update March 2024 This place has just changed hands (formerly Streat Thai) - similar menu to before plus Vietnamese dishes. I ordered Tom Yum soup with prawns which was basic but nice. There was no price on the menu but I was expecting to pay a similar price to before, about £8. So I was shocked to be charged £14.80! OK, my fault for not checking but I won't be going back at those prices!

Was surprised when I turned up to my favourite Thai takeaway to find they’ve changed their name to Vietnamese and Thai street food. But no worries, they still offer their signature Thai dishes with the added bonus of Vietnamese dishes. I had Pho noodle soup and Vietnamese yellow chicken curry - yum!

Go for the food, but don't expect a restaurant! Food is cooked fresh and they pay attention to dietary restrictions/allergies really well. I just wish they were open longer at weekends as it's hard for me to get down when open, but understanding the hard working chef deserves a break! Definitely recommend for a takeaway

Really good Thai food, well spiced if you ask for hot. Quick fresh and tasty. Good prices but in exchange for that the portions are relative to other places small. (£3.50 for 4 good sized Thai fish cakes as a starter is great, mains £8.50 ish with rice) Lovely people too.

Streat Thai was recommended by a work colleague and it did not disappoint the food was delicious, service and cleanliness of the establishment was great. Generally a wholesome experience.

Excellent value for money first time was a Green curry with rice it was lovely had a side of Duck spring rolls they was lovely for the money I paid you wouldn't get anything near it it's got very expensive in Eastbourne had a second visit to the restaurant just as good as the first visit

Mildly disappointed given the high rating. Food was okish, too much oil used in the wok so fried food was oily which overshadowed the taste and texture of the salt and pepper squid. Pad Thai was rather bland. Cheap and cheerful with helpful staff but food did not excite the tastebuds.

Went there 10 days ago. Very delicious Thai food. They are so welcome and friendly and nice! And I recommend the shrimp and curry most.

Nice and peaceful. Staff are nice. Yummy food. I had beef sweet & sour and rice. Negatives about the restaurant were very minimal so not bothering with them. Gladly go there again instead of a curry house, chicken place or burger place.

Excellent Thai food. Not too many choices to confuse but what they do they do very well. Cooked in front of you extremely fresh ingredients. From Tom yum noodle soup to the stuff I can never pronounce but tastes gorgeous.

I chose this restaurant after reading TripAdvisor reviews. I was not disappointed. The food is freshly cooked to order, in front of you. There are 5 spaces for sitting on a high stool at the counter. Otherwise, most of their orders are takeaway.

Great taste - better than London

Have lived in Thailand , (Chachoengsao) various times and this food is really excellent. We had 3 main courses and they were superb.!!

Had a very warming atmosphere with really friendly women behind the counter. The food tasted even better knowing that it was prepared right before your eyes, delivered right before you coming from the very people that made it. The food was delicious, and was even better eating it whilst chatting to the women who made it. Can’t wait to come here again.

We were looking for a healthier take-out option than fish and chips or fast food and thought we would give this a try. So glad we did. Really lovely food and a friendly person that helped us pick (Thai isn't food we are too familiar with). I had No.11 Pad Kha, was nice along with a sweet coconut drink with chewy bits almost like jelly. I had a taste of the Green Curry and was a good flavour I would say its on the more Spicy pallet so thoes of you who don't like it hot beware. The two Thai ladies were very friendly.
