Sabaidee Thai Restaurant in Eastbourne

Don't go for Thia generally, been to a few up market places which never agreed with me. My partner has been here a few times, so I relented. Service was excellent, such a busy bustling place, had two unknown mains to cover my losses and was advised one of my choices was probably not what I would be expecting, so took the advice. Fantastic! Booking advisable, although two not us on Saturday night got lucky at 8.30pm.

Our first time at this lovely restaurant for a birthday lunch. Food was truly excellent matching the friendly and helpful staff. We had all our meals off the set menu and were not disappointed. Every dish was freshly prepared, hot, full of flavour, generously portioned and beautifully presented. One of our party was a Coeliac needing gluten free food, but this proved no issue for this restaurant. Thoroughly recommended and we will return for our next outing.

Everything we ordered was so tasty and authentic. Some of the best Thai food I've had in England. One standout dish was the king prawn stir fried in a yellow curry sauce. The staff was friendly as well.

Bland, unbalanced, inconsistent Thai food. None of the subtle flavors that I've had in better Thai restaurants. Two of my kids had Pad Thai and one of them was way too sweet, the other one was good. My curry had zero subtlety, a total waste of my time.

We had a lovely meal. The Tom Yum soup was excellent. His Thai Green was OK, would have preferred it spicier but asked for prick nam pla, spiced fish sauce which helped. I had beef with ground pepper sauce which was divine! We finished with banana fritters & ice cream. The fritters were excellent. The ice cream could have been creamier. All in all, we would go again and definitely recommend.

Always at the top of my list when visiting family in Eastbourne, this lovely little Thai restaurant remains one of the best ...with food as good as far more expensive offerings in other places. It always seems to be fairly busy so probably a good idea to book ahead.

What an amazing meal we had celebrating someone's birthday. The food was fantastic while the service was simply amazing. We were visitors to Eastbourne for a long weekend but we will definitely return to Sabaidee Thai Restaurant the next time we visit Eastbourne. Highly recommended!

Lovely gracious Thai restaurant

This restaurant was close to the hotel and had good reviews. Only selected the set menu as it was quick and easy.. but food was very tasty and arrived in a sensible time frame. friendly staff, woudl gladly visit again if in the area

Food: I ordered four dishes. The assorted vegetables were fresh and delicious, the shrimp in the pineapple fried rice was very cold, the sea bass was frozen and tasted bad, and the curry chicken breast also tasted bad. Service: Other white customers in the store sat at a table for four, but my girlfriend and I sat at a table for two, but there were many other empty seats. I felt that I was being treated racially differently. It is worth mentioning that after we changed tables, they put the forks that had fallen on the floor on the table for two back to their original positions. I cannot accept this kind of hygiene. Atmosphere: Nothing major, neither good nor bad

Spice level 0.5 I guess that's what the locals want. It was a full resturant and the table service although working hard was slow.

Beautiful ambiance, this Thai restaurant has been running for a decade, can't fault it

Nice ambience and polite staff but the food wasn't that good. We had beef massaman curry and beef was raw and tough. The proper beef massaman should be cooked for few hours so the meat becomes tender and absorbs the flavour of the liquid, rather than just fry the meat in a separate pan.

Stumbled across this gem in town , some of the best Thai food I have tried in England. The squid and crispy sea bass were incredible. Of course the lovely humans there were of great service as there nation is known for its gracious and incredible hospitality!

I've been here a few times when I come to Eastbourne. It's handy when I'm staying at the View Hotel and everyone I've taken there really enjoys it. There's a good choice of dishes and there are three set menus for two or more if you want to try several different dishes. We had set menu b this time. There was a good selection of starters and we had three main courses to share. Recommend for the tasty food and nice friendly atmosphere.

First time eating here. Quiet new years day and we were the first customers through the door, hence the 3 star rating on atmosphere. I'm sure it's great when busy. Food was fab and so were the team. We will definitely be going back!

Нас было 5 чел. потратили 75£. мы заказывали супы, рыбу с рисом, лапшу с морепродуктами и лапша с говядиной. Все было очень вкусно. Мы остались довольны посещением данного заведения. Third visit here with my better half now, the Thai food is sensational, especially the Thai green curry & the beef massaman, full of flavour, perfect sized portions. Plenty of sauce. Friendly staff, food comes out efficiently no long wait times. Is now in my top 5 places to eat in Eastbourne.

I think this was one of the best Thai meals my wife and I have ever had. All the staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely go back again when we visit Eastbourne or go to the theatre.

What a fabulous little find this was! The place was buzzing, full to the rafters by 6pm on a Saturday... but they squeezed us in! Food delicious, staff wonderful. Worth a visit!

Went in for lunch, as my partner saids he has been in with his friends and they really enjoyed. However, it was such a disappointing result. Chicken satay taste nothing like satay, tom yum soup not toditional taste. My main jungle curry have no taste. Part from my meal, the green and red curry are yummy! But the rice portion is so small for curry. Service charge applied** About £19 for 2 course with soft drink £9 for main , no drink included

We visited Sabaidee yesterday evening (21/09/2023) for a birthday and pre-show meal. We ordered cocktails - Singapore Sling and a Mai Thai. Both were made to a high standard and were very easy to drink(!) We had starters of fried squid and Tom Yum soup. The squid was so soft and fresh, and the Tom Yum was fragrant and delicious. For our main course, I had the duck curry, and my partner had Weeping Tiger beef, along with egg fried rice and a coconut rice. Stunning and genuine Thai food, no food was left at the end (eventhough we were full) because the food was just too good! A wonderful Thai restaurant in walking distance of the Congress Theatre. Very quick service, along with lovely hosts. Thank you all.

Had dinner here recently on my birthday. We love Thai food and like to have it when we are away from home as we do not have a good Thai restaurant near where we live. The staff were lovely without being over attentive and the food was delicious. We had 2 main dishes as well as a noodle dish and 2 rice and all were so tasty and flavourful. Not bad value either especially for Brighton. Would definitely go again, thank you

We decided to have dinner here last night (Saturday) and really enjoyed it. I felt it was priced a little on the high side but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the duck spring roll for starter which was a bit mean on the duck filling but tasty. I had the king prawn pad Thai, the noodles were great but the prawns lacked any flavour at all so very disappointing. The egg fried rice was nice which went well with the deep fried king prawns. This was the highlight of the meal. Service was exceptional and very nice atmosphere. Maybe I’ll try again but try something different.

15 of us had come down from London and we made a last minute booking. The restaurant was then fully booked.We kept the staff very busy, but they coped exceptionally well. The food was very very good. We had so many dishes and they were all very good. Wish we were local enough to go there more regularly. One of the best Thai restaurants I've been too.

Very decent Thai, would recommend the pad Thai dish and the duck, their green curries were decent too. Service is decent and the place gets busy so I recommend booking in advance.

We had dinner here as we both love Thai food. Having spent some time in Thailand I was somewhat disappointed, they seem to serve dumbed down dishes, not authentic Thai. Service was very good, restaurant was clean. Our table for 2 was really only suitable for 1 though. Fortunately we put our food on our plates as they arrived, so they could take away empty dishes, otherwise there would not have been enough room on the table for them. The Tom Yum soup had a nice amount of chicken in it, but wasn’t hot at all, tasty, but not a real Tom Yum. The ribs starter has a delicious sauce, but 2 ribs served and what seemed like 2 tiny knuckles with barely any meat on, very disappointing. The pad Thai was 40% egg, lots of egg white in it, plus an egg lattice on top too. Not great, rather flavourless, and barely warm. The prawn starter was like a British pub scampi. The chilli chicken was nice, but no heat in it whatsoever, a toddler would have happily eaten it. Rather sad they have no idea about hygiene, the tables all have menus placed directly on top of the plates, and they aren’t cleaned between customers handling them either! Very unhygienic. We won’t be eating here again.

We had prawn Pad Thai & the Sea Bass in Tamarind Sauce, both beautiful & flavoursome, preceeded by crispy squid & dim sum which were also really good, all served by a sweet lady called Pay. Erg lekker gegeten hier. Hele lieve bediening en een goede sfeer. Van buiten ziet het er een beetje cheap uit maar van binnen is het erg gezellig. Verder lekker eten en lekkere Thaise biertjes. Het was zeker geslaagd

Absolutely loved our meal at Sabaidee. We had a warm welcome, service was very quick and the food was amazing - stunning flavours and beautifully cooked. Thought the price was very reasonable too. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had the set menu B and a dessert. It was all very enjoyable, the tamarind duck was excellent. Good choice of desserts, reasonably priced wine.

I visited here earlier tonight for dinner after spotting it in a lovely area and then my friend, who’s local, recommended it. I arrived early - just in time, before the theatre rush arrived! - and experienced excellent service from start to finish. Attentive, friendly, polite and quick. The food and red wine was so lovely. I went for the pork and prawn dim sum to start and then the roast duck in honey orange sauce with coconut sticky rice which was lovely. I highly recommend and would definitely return - thank you!

Four of us visited here on the final Saturday of the Eastbourne Tennis week and had a good experience. We went for the set menus and share one each of Set Menu A and Set Menu B. All dishes were very good and very good attentive service levels even though the restaurant was full to capacity. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one.

Living in Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour, we tend to 'go' local for restaurants. But today we headed into town, and revisited an old haunt we used to come to 10 or more years ago. Sabaidee Thai has always been a favourite, but today's food was more than we remembered.....it was The Best Thai Food ever! We had the lunch menu Option 1. Satay chicken, Spring rolls.....which were gorgeous ! Very tasty. I had Singapore noodles with luscious prawns....the vegetables in this dish were so fresh, crispy and tasty. My husband had Beef in a sweet and sour sauce, which tasted so tasty with pineapple... You also get a drink with the menu, hubby had a Singha beer, I had some fabulous jasmine tea, which normally doesn't come as part of set menu, usually have to pay for tea separately. As a few regular customers came in, we all chatted and we said it was new to us, they confirmed that it is The Best Thai restaurant in Eastbourne and beyond. Totally agree, I can't wait to go back and try other dishes as soon as possible, I can see this being a 'go to' regular now for us. And finally, the bill was a fiver cheaper than any other, more options/choices on the set menu, and larger portions. All in all, we love it...x

Fantastic thai lunch. The very best thai meal that I have had. The flavours were gorgeous, the ingredients fresh and tasty.

We must've been unlucky as I see most reviews of this restaurant saying the food was delicious but other than the green papaya salad (Sum Tom i think it was called here), the food was pretty bland. We ordered some prawn crackers that never came, two beers, the papaya salad, chicken satay as starters, crispy sea bass in a tamarind sauce, rice and a prawn pad thai which came to £53. I wouldn't mind paying that but the chicken satay and the pad Thai didn't taste of anything. The sea bass was just OK.

We decided to celebrate finishing the Seven Sister cliff walk to Eastbourne by eating Thai food. This place needs reservations on weekends as it was fully booked, and this comes with no surprise as the food was well and truly, mouth watering. We had the tofu massaman curry, which was sweet, veg pad Thai, tofu green curry (which was a little spicy despite requesting it to be mild) and papaya salad. It was thoughtful indeed that each dish had the option to have meat or vegetables, could be made to the spice preference of the person & and were also highlighted if gluten-free. The decor inside was lovely and instantly made you feel like you're in a local restaurant in Thailand. The servers were very efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and pre-book is a must to avoid disappointment!
