We had a lovely lunch outside. I reserved a table and asked for chairs rather than a bench. We were greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar. We ordered drinks and took them to the table. One way in and another way out. We ordered ham, eggs and chips and Ribs with chips. All staff very helpful. Definitely best to book. Highly recommend.

We would like to say a sincere, heartfelt thank you to The Stratton for a lovely quick lunch today. We pulled in on our way to view a house, and were about to leave as we feared we wouldn’t be able to eat in time. On the way out the proprietor asked us if he could help in any way and we explained our situation. He immediately took our order to the kitchen for us and even prepared food to go. We had delicious food that was very, very reasonably priced. I would have paid double for such service and lovely, homely food. I throughly recommend visiting The Stratton. Thank you once again to everyone, the proprietor and the lovely chef!

We phoned through our booking shortly before we arrived at 1.30 pm on Sunday. The car park is fairly large and so too is the garden which had a decent children's playing area.We decided to sit outside and after placing our order at the bar, we returned to our seats.Internally this pub has a " visit your grandparents " feel and has bags of charm....which is added to by excellent friendly staff. We ordered 2 x roast beef dinners which at £8.50 each, were an absolute bargain. Our food was excellent, beef was very soft and the roast potatoes were delicious. The portions were generous also. After clearing the plates, we ordered the banofee pie with cream, perhaps the nicest desert I have ever had.....and I've had many! With 2 pints of lemonade and a pot of tea this totalled an excellent £33.I really enjoyed our visit to the Stratton Arms which is situated a short distance from the A43 near Brackley. The place has an excellent atmosphere and welcomes well behaved dogs also.We met the landlord as we left and told him how much we enjoyed our food and visit. An excellent country pub with tonnes of charm and atmosphere......and the food is not bad either!Visited 23rd August 2020.

Stayed in our camper in their extensive car park. They had electric hook ups which was great. The food is incredible. Lots of places claim home made food, this one delivers. You could tell right away that their kitchen microwave, if they even have one, is used for nothing more than reheating the chefs cuppa which went cold while he or she was hand kneading the pizza dough. Lovely Landlord, cheerful staff. This is a great place to visit highly recommended

This used to be a beautiful village pub you could visit in the summer and sit watching the river which flows through the garden. Sadly since turning into a park up for motor homes it looks like steptoes yard. Driving past every day all you can see are large piles of rubbish and wood resembling large bonfires. Sad but the lack of care outside puts me off visiting the inside again. The photos here do not represent how it now looks.

I'm a bit struggling with some of the reviews on here relating to the place we actually went to. Anyway...The Stratton Arms is a small, old fashioned (and I presume old) pub in the pretty village of Turweston. There is a car park and large beer garden and play area out back and it's on a quiet street in a quiet area. The staff were friendly enough and there is a good range of beers. The signs say families and dogs welcome although I don't think we saw either inside the pub.The menu is quite extensive, in a such small place that should have been read as a bit of a warning sign. The food isn't particularly expensive by pub grub standards but then it isn't particularly good. Nothing awful, nothing inedible but paying to sit down to a meal that resembled something I'd throw together on a wet Wednesday evening after a long day at work wasn't impressive. Despite the sign outside and despite comments on here this wasn't home cooked food, nothing we had or saw the people sat next to us have that hadn't been in a freezer ten minutes before it was served. Such a lot that could have been improved; either something has happened in the last few weeks or the reviewers raving about the homemade dishes have very low standards ( or are mates with the landlord). It wasn't a terrible experience but it wasn't really a very good one either,I don't think I will be back to eat there.

I went with a friend for Sunday lunch. We booked a table, which was ready on our arrival, 1.30pm. The menu displayed on the bar stated roast beef or chicken with a very reasonable price of £7.50. We bought a drink and were shown to our table. Eventually a very charming young lady came to take our order. In the middle of her question as to choice, a more mature lady rushed up and stated there was no more chicken available. This left us with the only choice left, beef, or something else from the menu. We chose beef. The meal when it arrived was plentiful and well cooked, the beef a little more done than I would have chosen, plenty of vegetables and not well done roast potatoes. The desserts we chose were very nice and quite reasonably priced at £4+. The dining area is very small and the arrival of a large family with two small children, certainly diminished our enjoyment. Plenty of parking available and outside seating and childrens' play area also provided.

Great pub, well kept beers, massive garden which is fantastic for kids to run around in.Plus you can reserve a bbq and bring your own grub to cook, which is a nice alternative to eating in - although I hear that is pretty good too.Recommended!

I had heard a lot about this pub from various forums & Facebook and as its only a short drive away, thought I'd have to give it a go!'Twas a sunny Saturday afternoon when I arrived. The car park was nearly empty, and as I was in my camping van, I slotted it neatly in the corner under a shady tree, and went in. The cool bar was empty apart from Phil behind the bar who introduced himself. We quickly deduced that yes, I could park overnight, he took credit cards, and that food would be available from 6. Perfect! I settled down with a very nice pint of Doombar. Other beers were available, including Otter, and Lighthouse. Both looked appetising. A few more customers came in and we all had a chat. Very friendly folk in Turweston!Come 6 o'clock I ordered and ate my 3 course meal. Very tasty and reasonably priced it was too. A little later I headed toward my van for some shut-eye, and had a good nights kip. Successful mission accomplished. Phil doesn't charge to overnight on his car park, so long as you are a customer! He can handle rallies too, in a weeks time he was due 22 campers and motor homes. There is quite a large grass area behind the pub for such events and also a large kiddies play area. The pub has its own Facebook page where there are more details. I have only one niggle, and that's the outside gents toilet needs re-doing, which Phil tells me is on the cards soon.

This is a lovely little local pub in a lovely little village. We are Canadian, but our family hails from this village and some are buried in the local churchyard. Years ago, there was a tunnel running from the cellar of the pub to the church. It is now blocked off on the pub side, but the barman was kind enough to let us have a peek. We did check in advance to ensure we didn't visit on the day it was closed (Tuesdays). Our kids loved it, especially because the village is part of their heritage and knowing that their great grandfather and generations before enjoyed a pint in the very same pub was special.

This is a cosy old fashioned pub with friendfly staff. Good selection of beer (five when I came). it is quite small inside and has a small restaurant attached (may 15 people max) which is not always open. It pays to check before you go. Has good parking and a large field down to a stream at the bottom. one of my favourite Pubs in the area.

As we arrived on a Tuesday we weren't able to eat in the restaurant, which was a shame. But, the parking was good and we really appreciate that the landlord is putting on these facilities. The only person on site was someone that lived in the pub, so we gave him the £4 for our electric.

So, we were looking for a dog friendly pub to enjoy a spot of lunch on a b/h day out. This place came recommended on a 'dog-friendly' website and I can report that it didn't disappoint. Tucked away in the small village of Turweston just outside Bracknell, it's a really welcoming hide-away. The menu is sizeable, including puddings, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We booked a table because we had no back-up plan if it turned out to be busy, and yes Charlie (the Cavachon) was most welcome (except in the restaurant itself, which was fine - we ate in the pub). We had three main courses, two deserts and drinks for less than £40 and it was good grub too. We were advised of both the homemade and bought in puddings, which was refreshingly honest. We left feeling contented and ready for the next stage of our day. We would all go again!

Sunday lunch - great value - good homely cooking - delicious. There are only very few tables so Sunday lunch is taken in two sittings - it is advisable to pre-book.

We took a friend to Sunday lunch after reading some Tripadvisor reviews and were not in any way disappointed. For a really good price we had a choice of starters, some delicious sounding desserts and a choice of 2 roasts. The dining room is small - seats 18 maximum - and has a very cosy village atmosphere. Service was efficient and friendly with several checks to see we were happy with our food. I had chicken and the others had lamb and we were very impressed to get two separate jugs of gravy. Very unusual these days. A large platter of fresh vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding tasted excellent. My one disappointment was that we had no room to sample the excellent puddings. I saw some and they looked very enticing. Certainly a place to go for a very reasonable Sunday lunch.

ok I'm biased, this is one of my favourite local Pubs. Always clean and with an enormous garden for young families. The staff are great to include the Landlord owner too. All of the beer's are well kept and the Otter Bitter at £3.00 per pint is always in great shape and at this price, everyone is happy. This is a well respected Pub where visitors are always made welcome by the staff and regulars too. No complaints and btw I'm not commenting on the food as I drink and do not eat there

Visited with a supplier, and found a quaint ( but slightly cluttered dining area). Food was home made and good. I won't be returning for work lunches though. This has been a difficult one to rate because the staff were lovely, and the food was obviously home made and nice. It just felt like the dining area was cluttered and dated ( hope I'm not being to cruel).
