The food was lovely, one of the best curry's I've had, hospitality was not great and some staff were very rude. Do not serve alcohol so you have to take your own alcoholic drinks, not the end if the world but a very nice curry.

Please check reviews for Temple Cuisine. This is the same place. It’s awful, filthy and service is terrible. We ate there and the place is filthy, couldn’t even get our order right. Husband went to the loo which he had to pass the kitchen and said we were leaving 🤢 Charged is £5.50 For a can of Diet Coke!! Please do not use people have been sick after eating here

Awful rude staff got order wrong then would not give us our order. Shouted at us over the phone so we lost £45 and did not get our food. Tiny portions and no taste to food. Far too expensive for the awful mess they make of the food. A disgrace to Good Curry restaurants Beware they over charge too.

Here we go again. Every time I place an order I get a phone call from the restaurant asking for me to collect instead of delivery. This time they totally refused to deliver. They obviously don’t want to do business so I won’t deal with them again. Good luck everyone if ordering from them.

As we were in Stranraer on a Saturday evening wanting food we decided to pop in here as from the outside it looked very nice - appearances can be deceptive. There was only one other couple in the Restaurant on a Saturday evening - this should have started the alarm bells ringing but we persevered. We were sat at a table for 2 even though there were lots of tables for 4 available, we asked three times to be moved but this was 'not possible as they were all booked' - this turned out to be utter rubbish as whilst we were eating at least two other couples arrived and were seated at a table for 4. The waiter (possibly the Manager) was very miserable and said they didnt serve Alcohol despite there being Wine Glasses on the Table which was acceptable. There was No Sparkling Water or Sugar Free Drinks were available either yet they brought a Diet Coke to another table. We ordered the food, the Onion Bhajis arrived and they were obviously bought in and not prepared on the premises. We asked for Bombay Chicken without the Boiled Egg on Top - again this was 'not possible', we still cant work out why !. The Garlic Naan was just a Plain Naan absolutely smothered in Easy Garlic. We asked for some Fresh Chillies to be put on top of the Chicken Tikka - again 'not possible, we only have Chilli Paste' - an Indian Restaurant without Chillies ??? unheard of. Chicken Bhuna was very bland and tasteless as was the Pilau Rice. The Manager was very conveniently nowhere to be seen when we asked for the Bill. The Waitress asked if everything as ok and we had tell her of our huge disappointment, she actually said that there had been lots of complaints of late. Do yourselves a big favour if you are in Stranraer and avoid this place. When we left there were still tables for 4 vacant too, The biggest worry was there was NO Hand Drying facilities in the Gents - surely in these times of Covid this is very dangerous as well as being unhygienic too

Arrived and waiter was at the door. He didn’t acknowledge us and I asked for a table for 2. The reply was “we don’t serve alcohol “ Ok it’s not a deal breaker, can we have a table. From a very limited menu (not even pakora on starter menu, and £1 per popadom) I chose tandoori chicken. Regular Indian diners will know this comes on the bone, as it stated on the menu. The waiter eventually came back and said your tandoori chicken will have to be off the bone. Ok but is that not just chicken tikka? We weren’t offered to order drinks so we asked for soft drinks. I had Diet Coke which was close to a pint. My partner lemonade. The coke was absolutely flat, I couldn’t drink it. Charged £7.80 for the two drinks. The starter of onion bhaji was ok. My girlfriend had a chicken curry which wasn’t wow but not too bad,my chicken tikka was dry and tasteless. No sauce with it. The garlic Nan was a small Nan with garlic paste smeared over it. All in all I’ll never be back, I should have complained but I couldn’t be bothered and just put it down to a very poor meal that has put me off for good

We aren't local, but whilst visiting the area we have had quite a few take aways over the last four years-always delivered to where we were staying and always good value. Tried to order online, but decided just to pop in. Only my opinion, but quite over priced for a tasty but mediocre and small meal. 90p for one takeaway poppadom! Another £1 for chutney to go with it! No veg pakora available and don't start me on the price for one rice... £30 for a very minimal takeaway for two-still hungry and no usual lunch for tomorrow. V disappointed 😞

Service & atmosphere awful - no attention at all from staff. We were warned upon booking that no alcohol is served which was fine, wish we knew we were allowed to take drinks in though as ALL the fizzy drinks on offer (which we had to ask for) were flat !!! Coke, lemonade & iron bru - all horrible & at £3 per drink it's safe to say we were thirsty when we left.... Food on the other hand was lovely & the tandoori king prawns were amazing. Very over priced for what you get & you only need one naan & one rice for two people as they are big portions.

We got a take away for the family whilst on holiday in the area. What a fabulous meal we had. Lovely big portions. Lots of flavour. One of the best Indian meals we have had for a long time. Ordered and paid for it online and can follow its progress. The South Indian chilli chicken was very good, as was the mild chicken curry for our young daughter who had never tried a take away curry before and she loved it. Would highly recommend.

First, I made the mistake of ordering early on Saturday evening, The food was ready for collection on time, but the onion bhajis were hard, stale tasting specimens. by contrast, the pakoras were good, and freshly made. My wife,s Rogan josh was almost devoid of any heat, although still tasty. My Lamb jalfrezi was hot enough but lacked the "Zing" I expect of a good Jalfrezi. I did, get an unexpected surprise though, half way through, I realized I was just swallowing a very long hair, ( not mine as I have none ) I tried to pull it out but it slipped away and I had to swallow it !!! Had it not been for that, I would have given 3 stars, as it would have been less than average in my opinion. The service though was very good, and the young lady who served me could not have been more pleasant ! I don,t think we will risk a return visit, Morrisons is just across the road !!

From the outside, it doesn’t look appealing but it’s fine inside. The service was very good, even though there was only one waiter. The puree starter was tasty. The batter on the mixed pakora was extremely thick so that was a disappointment. The curry selection was large and the meals we chose were very tasty indeed. Nice mushroom rice and garlic nan too. One complaint though. The chairs were VERY uncomfortable. We tried all 4 chairs at our table and all were the same. You sink into them and the springs dig into you. I think they need to address this issue. Also, a bit of music would’ve been nice as it lacked atmosphere.

We ordered an order for delivery that came up to £46. The service was great, the food was delivered in good time and was hot. We opened the food and plated it up. The chicken itself was lovely however, the rice had no flavour, the chips weren’t even Indian chips, the dishes came brimmed with onions to the point that’s all you felt you were eating. The flavour of the sauce wasn’t enjoyable at all. The popadoms were actually soft and you struggled to break them. Both couples ordered garlic naans too and they were burnt and you couldn’t taste any garlic at all. First and last time ordering for us.

However, before the main course we asked for poppadums and pickles and these were very disappointing. All the pickles were weak and watery except the lime which consisted of massive lumps with little sauce. Feeling low because of the pickles we awaited the main courses with some trepidation but needn't have worried as they were superb. I might have wished for a cosier ambience as the room was a bit sparse but all in all it was a good experience.

We were staying about 20 minutes drive away from the restaurant and decided that as it was our last night we would have a take away. We were too far away for a delivery so rang our order in and drove to the restaurant. The reviews I'd read were quite mixed and on arriving there on a Friday night at around 7.30 pm to find no customers in there, I was slightly worried. I needn't had worried, made the 20 minute journey back to the cottage and the food was still really hot. We'd ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken rezala, portion of rice and plain and vegetable naan breads. There was lots of food but it was so gorgeous I ate my share and so did hubby. The bill came to around £22 which is probably a little bit more expensive than what we would pay at home in Hull, but we felt it was well worth what we paid, and next time we are staying there we'll definitely be paying another visit.

Well last night, Saturday 10th, we got a carry out of two pakoras, two naan breads, and four main speciality dishes..( I do my own basmati rice ) ..The chicken pakora, four pieces, were very nice, but the veg pakora, again only four pieces, were unusual to say the very least, they reminded me of onion Bhajis rather than pakora..And the normal pink mint sauce that usually accompanies them was yellow, weird..Anyway our four main dishes were really nice, from the Thawa to the Masala Balti, to the South Indian and the garlic chilli, all chicken perfectly cooked in the tandoor and nicely marinated, unlike some Indian restaurants who go overboard with the bright red chicken on the outside..Our two naan breads were also very nice, tho slightly on the small side..Hint to management...Take a look at the naan bread sizes from Akbars and Punjabi in Charing Cross Glasgow..All in all, we will be back as it was a very nice carry out...

A beautiful grand building in a wonderful setting. It was very quiet but the service and food were excellent. Not cheap but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

We ate here and finished our meal, the waitress cleared away and we decided we'd have another round of drinks before leaving. We waited 5, 10 minutes and the waitress never came back. I went in search of someone but couldn't find our waitress. I didn't like to open the doors to the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes and my wife said 'this is ridiculous' and went off in pursuit. She found our waitress in the bar (was she watching TV, did she fancy the barman?) and asked if we could get some service. The waitress said 'the restaurant is closed', as if we were being unreasonable in expecting to be served a round of drinks. No, the restaurant isn't closed if you've still got people sitting at a table you're serving and you haven't asked them if they want a dessert or offered them the bill but simply buggered off. So we said OK, can we just pay the bill. Which we did, and obviously didn't leave tip. We won't be going back.

This restaurant is part of Smiths hotel at Gretna Green. We were in the final days of our holiday in Scotland and wanted to have a special meal. We were staying at the hotel and saw this had good reviews. Well it didn’t disappoint. It was good that you could pick and mix from the a la carte menu and the bar menu. Every course was very good. Because we had courses from both menus I didn’t think it was too expensive. The service was good although it was very busy with other events going on. The staff were kept busy but were still attentive to our needs. Would recommend if you want something special or just for an evening meal.

A super bed and breakfast with a lovely vegan curry and home baked ecclefechan tart in the bar which had an open fire. Steve and Mary looked after us like a mum and a big brother. Could not do enough for us including a very welcome lift to and from hoddom Bridge as we were walking the annandale way. And a packed lunch to order. Will recommend to all, especially walkers.

We had a day out yesterday and ended up here for coffee. The sign at the entrance said the cafe was open until 4.30. As it was just before 4 when we parked round the back we thought we had plenty of time. However when we entered the cafe I approached the counter to order I was told in no uncertain terms that they were shut. When I pointed out that their sign had said it was open until 4.30 the rude assistant pointed to the sign on the counter which said last orders 4. I said it was 4 and we only wanted coffees she said 'well we're shut'. You would think that after 2 years of pandemic that businesses would be grateful for any money they could get, well that's not the case in this cafe. We had been going to buy some plants but left empty handed and on the way out told the assistant in the shop that we wouldn't be back. Their loss is someone else's gain
