Stones Fish and Chips in Ealing

Although very reasonable fish and chips we also had scampi and this was completely raw inside the batter. This is dangerous as well as unpleasant. When we returned the box we were given either a refund nor a voucher.

Ordered online, didn't read the order correctly, covered in sauce rendering it useless and had to be thrown away. Spoke to staff, useless, no offer of refund or making right the order. Really, really poor. Don't order online from here. Waste of money.

Quite a disappointing visit, staff were lovely and friendly but got home and realised the cod was missing out my cod and chips :/

Out of all the chips in the box 60% were burnt and inedible, not something I have come to expect from Stones which used to be highly rated but Is now under new management. The food is also wildly overpriced!

Delicious crispy fried cod with big chunky chips to match. We wished we were in town for another meal here and would get the same. Raised on New England seafood, I am very picky about the preparation. This one hits all the marks. This meal made us very happy.

Haven’t been to Stone’s for a little while but just hade the most delicious fish and chips. The cod was a proper size and cooked to perfection - the chips were also perfect and I couldn’t fault them. If you haven’t been to Stone’s you must give them a try. I will be back

Stones changed hands a year or so ago. We have had several fish suppers from Stones and they have slowly deteriorated. The chips are not always freshly made- quite carboardy- and on occasion they are very oily. But tonight's supper was the worst and I would not serve it to the family. Once the batter is stripped away, the cod did not smell or taste fresh. The chips had been cooked or recooked in old oil. The scampi bites looked like supermarket oven ready and were burnt. But worst, we phoned to give them feedback and instead of showing concern they dismissed any criticism. When told we would not be returning we were told that they didn't need us. Shame. Askew Road chippy is outstanding. Gunnersbury Road Fish and Chips is also great. Basically, anywhere but here.

I stopped at Stones for a chippy tea lunch today. I’m very sceptical about F&C in London as they’re usually terrible. The service leaves for some improvement as the man who served me was a bit grumpy but I’ll let him off as the F&C were actually perfectly nice and I would try them again. I’d imagine that perhaps on a Friday they’re processing more orders so there’s fish always waiting but he has to fry mine from scratch so I didn’t know what to expect. Very nice curry sauce and chips were good, too.

Overpriced undercooked chips that were mush. When I called to complain was met with abuse by manager who claims the chips were cooked twice! They were pale, cold and Mush. Will never visit again. The staff are grubby and disheveled couldn't see gloves or masks on.

I am very much a fan of Stone’s fish and chips! I have now been on a number of occasions and they have never failed to impress! The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, the portion size is excellent and the quality of the taste is fantastic! I am always satisfied and would highly recommend this fish ‘n’ chip shop! This place is amazing! Friendly staff, clean, great decor but most importantly the food was fresh, top class and delicious. Ordered cod bites and chips, light crispy golden batter and proper chips, crispy but fluffy inside... superb! And served with Janina's homemade tartar sauce. They have lots of choice on menu, burgers, pies, sausage. This was my first visit and I'm delighted to have found it! It is a great local fish and chip shop and I highly recommend it.

Fish was greasy like seal. Mad bucks. Don't go to Stones...stay home and smoke bones. Look at the prices. Mans had a crisis.

Very oily, there are far better chippies around. We live locally so thought it may be good for a quick bite, but sadly not.
