This place was incorrectly shown as closed. It is indeed open as serves as the restaurant and bar to the Premier Inn next door. Breakfast was nice with a made-to-order English that was a decent size. Unlimited fruit juice, coffee and toast. Went for a drink in the evening and the staff were lovely.

It's a real shame that the restaurant is closing. Called here for dinner while staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough for the customers. The service was good. The food was very well cooked and enjoyable.

Had not read reviews otherwise may not of visited. however the meal was hot, quickly delivered and service was pleasant. I was surprised the hot breakfast was not self service as with other Premier Inns, but it was well cooked and presented. Reviews from 2 years ago say it was tired, and it certainly is. Some of the furniture is beyond cleaning and the floor in the breakfast area is beyond words - my shoes stuck to it !

Why on earth are they closing this down. What a waist. Get rid of the carpark camera issue and more people would attend. Getting a fine for parking in a pub carpark when you are in the pub is enough to put any one off attending.

Sunday dinner, beef rock hard microwaved to inedible, frozen roast potatoes again dry and hard, veggies ok, packet gravy, waste of money..

Went here with my family and have to say I felt welcomed as if we were regulars. Service from Lucy was really amazing and just what we expect from hospitality. Food was amazing and decent price too for a couple of 2/3 course meals with a couple bottles of wine! Recommend for anyone who's either travelling or just popping in!

All you can eat breakfast is fantastic value. They take your order serve it then come round to see if you want any more. They even warn you when it’s about to stop serving

Portions small. Chips only warm. Nothing special. Inside looking bit grubby...air vents full of dust and ceiling needs painting. Some of the ornaments / vases need replacing.

Delicious food, clean tables, and seating area. The waitress 'Lucy' was attentive, well-mannered, and efficient. She made sure that everything ran smoothly and promptly and continued to serve and manage her area professionally.

Friendly waiting on staff. Large, varied menu but sadly food no more than average.

Had lunch at the establishment with my wife. We decided not to go for the 2 for £11+ option and instead ordered the fish pie and Thai curry from the main menu. . Although the food was well cooked, the portions were small, especially the fish pie which consisted of the pie and a few peas. The staff were pleasant, and efficient, but, unfortunately that's our first and last visit.

Lovely full English breakfast taken by order by our wonderful server Elisha. Thank you folks, way better than Oxford 😁😁

The food was beautiful, really tasty, hot and came quite quickly. The service can't be faulted at all, it's table service and it's lovely to still see in pubs now a days. We dined lunch time on a Saturday, so it was a little quiet, but I'm sure it picks up at a more peak time

Managers attitude is absolute terrible

Starters were lovely and hot but main was a little cool - chips- nothing to shout about just pub grub. Waitress was very helpful .

There was no one in when we arrived tea time waited too long for our meal.. it arrived luke warm.. was asked how it was unfortunately my mouth was full at the time So when paying for the meal. I mentioned about the meal.. response... I did ask .. its too late now.. first and last time for me...

Great value 2 mains,2 sweets, couple of drinks we'll worth a visit

The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was good. The all you can eat breakfast was unfortunately just average and the orange and apple juices were removed 10 minutes early and never refilled. I have been here previously and had a great breakfast, so hopefully I just picked a bad day.

Such friendly people! We eat here on a regular basis and can honestly say the staff are amazing! They go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Food is good too! Big shout out to Donna who remembered us from previous visits - it’s such a lovely experience be welcomed that way. All the staff are amazing, I’d highly recommend.

Unfortunately stop serving food at 1400hrs

Nipped in for a spot if lunch with the wife. Staff were lovely chatty and very friendly. Drinks came out quick and the food a little while later which was served piping hot. It was amazing. Well priced too and would definitely go back again.

There were 14 in our party so we all decided what we wanted so ordered the meals days before we went. Although we did this the food was very slow in being served. Having said this we all enjoyed our meal.

Me and my friend regularly come for breakfast. The past few times we have been, we have both felt unwell afterwards. We put it down to coincidence but after the 4th time it can't be a coincidence any more and now both me and my friend have upset stomachs again 😬 I have never eaten the bacon there because it smells and tastes funky, the fried eggs are pure greasy so I ordered poached instead this time and they were snotty so I left them. So out of my whole breakfast, I ate the beans, mushrooms and sausages. I have only given more stars because the service is okay (apart from a lot of the times we have been, they have closed the breakfast buffet early when we haven't been finished which causes upset with our little ones that still want drinks). Shame really because it has potential to be a good place to go for breakfast.

Waited to be seated and was greated within 5 minutes. Shown to seat was served my order in 15 min with a polite smile. I had BBQ wings to start, chicken and rib combo which was unbelievably delicious. Oh and a Talisker whisky which helped wash down the goodness. A very lovely and friendly place, very good staff. Highly recommended to all.

Absolutly the worse meal I've ever had the misfortune of ordering. £11.95 for the "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" and it was truly "loser loser". The Chichen was thin, dry and overcooked, the roast potatoes were cremated and the Veg was overcooked. I returned the dish and chose not to order anything else. Took 30 minutes post order to get to the table in a deserted restaurant devoid of any ambience or atmosphere. My elderly Father had Chicken and Mushroom Pie that appeared to lack any chicken! My Wife ordered the Fish and Chips and ate it out of sympathy I think. Its was a Saturday night, the Sun was shining and the place was empty. Says it all really. You simply cannot be serious running a restaurant given the standard of food you offer. If you can't offer reasonable or edible food then go something else. I remember a time when this place was buzzing and offered great food. What has happened since then deserves to be the subject of a Gordon Ramsey episode.

Went for a Sunday roast wasn't the best but edible three tiny slices of beef which was a little dry lots of vegetables Service was quick and efficient Restaurant nice Got to enter car registration to validate parking

The service was ok. The girl that took our order was polite and attentive. However, the food was abysmal. I’m pretty sure the ‘roast’ beef was in fact, sliced topside from a packet. The sausage in the pig in blanket wasn’t cooked through and the parsnips were like charcoal. Definitely will not return.

Went for breakfast and although quite busy service was good. The breakfast was swimming in oil and the blackpudding was undercooked, so unfortunately not the best 😕

We really enjoyed our family meal. A little expensive for what you get, portions are small and the desserts are small too. Excellent service.

Always a relaxing atmosphere here. We had rump steak (him) and cob salad (me). Both were lovely.

Great service. Staff members are knowledgable about allergies and looked at me really well. I have coeliac disease so can't have any gluten. I felt very safe eating here and will definitely be coming back. Gluten free toast is available and most items in the cooked breakfast are also gluten free. They had a fair amount of gluten free lunch and dinner choices which were well made and tasty. I can't praise the staff here enough here particularly Donna.

I went when my wife went to new york had breakfast and it was fantastic everything i order was perfection and the best black pudding ive ever had outside my house. Julie was my server and nothing was too much trouble. So i went back a few days later with my son and again julie and the team knocked it out the park its my new favourite place its a bit of a drive but definitely worth it.

It was an OK visit nothing to write home about both good or bad. Food was good. Just your run of the mill pub lunch

For a chain pub/restaurant attached to a Premier Inn it's actually pretty good. Clean and comfortable, good food and service, and reasonable prices. Nothing spectacular, but nothing wrong with it either. Would recommend for a casual evening out.

I'm updating and upgrading this review. Eaten here a few more times and the food was much better. First time was a blip I think.

Came for tea with our 3 year old grandson. We ordered :a trio of pies with chips, a chicken dinner and kids Bolognese. Staff were great the service was good despite it being busy. I thought the adult portions were small and the chicken pie from the trio Which I thought would be chicken and mushroom was heavily spiced and repeated on me all night (although that's possibly more to do with me than the pie). The kids Bolognese was quite tasty and the boy really enjoyed it On balance not great value for money, in my opinion.

Excellent place my new eating venue

The food is pub grub. It's nice and very filling. The service was lovely, it was quiet and not much atmosphere but that's not the pubs fault. One small criticism, the table facing table 30 has an exposed air vent that was full of cobwebs.

Ok if you are hungry and need a quick meal at average prices.

Frozen meals reheated. Felt sorry for the staff as they were busy and not enough on. Sent the Chicken dinner back - was like a children's meal and not as menu described. Not value for money at all. Ordered cocktails, seemed to much trouble to make they made one wrong and didn't bother with the one my friend ordered. Meals were small and tastless menu overpriced for what we got.

Had a meeting here. Food and service was excellent. Can't fault it at all which is saying something for a chain pub restaurant

Building Grotty. Staff don't give a damn. food undercooked was returned to kitchen and told by one of my party who is a chef, too cook properly. coffee machine will only product lukewarm coffee, crockery is old and warn. Day Manager serving wearing ripped jeans and server show exposed tattoos, tables need to be stripped and recovered as lots show peeling and chipped stain / varnish, carpets heavily marked and sticky in places with stale beer, toilets need to be thought out and redesigned bad sewerage smell entire venue need to re refurbished so does the hotel next door. breakfast was not a value of £10 or £60 for a party of 6, real world value of I was put a price on breakfast was worth around £5 per person. utterly horrid place.

Very disappointed service was slow ,we had to wait 30mins for our main meal after having a starter and I wouldn't mind if the place was full but It wasn't ,won't be going back there again

First visit of 2023 and, as always, a warm welcome, tasty Sunday lunch and very pleasant staff. Traditional pub food which has never failed to be of good value. Visited many times in 2022.
