Stix & Stones Ballyhackamore in Belfast

Steak is amazing, best I’ve had. The atmosphere is lovely! The Prosecco was delicious! The service was fast but also really personable. Genuinely loved it!

Very poor experience at this restaurant, there is a reason that they get customers to cook their own steak as the chef has absolutely no idea how to cook to your liking. Initially asked for 2 sirloins and 1 fillet steak added sides etc they asked if they wanted the chef to cook it for us... I was like yes ofcourse to which the server replied it'll be a longer wait if we need to cook your steak, that was fine. So we waited approximately 30 mins no big deal, food arrives and it's 1 sirloin and 2 fillet steaks which was wrong they apologised and said they would get the chef to cook another sirloin which was another 15 minutes but by that stage my friends had already finished their meal once I cut into the steak it was grey, far too over cooked as was my friends even tho we all asked for medium, there was burnt char marks all over them which also was a negitive taste wise. This leads me to the original comment that they would rather you cook your own steak so when it's not that great there's little to complain about as in theory you've cooked it yourself. Very poor, over priced, and you'll leave smelling like a barbecue as everyone is cooking around you. To be fair they did discount a steak off our bill as a goodwill gesture but all in all a very poor dining experience.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Amazing service from start to finish. Fantastic food. We loved cooking our own steaks on the hot stones; a really different experience. When the waiter heard that it was our sons birthday he brought out a special dessert with our sons name on it. Our son was delighted. We definitely recommend Stix and Stones and would not hesitate to return.

Family of ten, adults and children . One child gluten free , amazing service and separate fryers for GF food .would recommend for GF, great menu !

Secured a late Saturday night booking-This restaurant is known to serve the best steaks in town- seated and drink orders taken- They offer a choice of kitchen cooked steaks or cook your own on an individual hot stone- I decided on an 8 Oz kitchen cooked fillet with chips and pan fried onions separate - initially it looked small, BUT turned out to be enough - It was excellent in every way - good service and on riad parking

I had the most wonderful birthday dinner here! The young staff were beyond brilliant and were always available to me and my friends. As well as this the food was superb the manager even went as far to gift me a free birthday plate. Personally couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate my birthday, will be coming back x

What a great atmosphere , excellent food and tremendous service My partner of 27 years and I decided to give it a try Starters we had Mussels and chicken wings both where first class Main course 2x 12oz Sirloin steaks on a stone amazing cook it yourself plus seasonal veg and Homemade cut chips With a nice bottle of Rioja to wash it down For dessert we had a baked Alaska (between us off course ) and I finished the night off with an Irish coffee I WILL BE BACK !

I went with a large group for the pre theatre menu as it was recommended to me by friends- it was very large portions and excellent value. The steak was one of the best steaks I have ever had! I would fully suggest that you try the steak on stone as it is such a unique experience. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and Jorge was so helpful in explaining the stone concept, I will one hundred percent be back!

Food was good. However customer service was terrible. 1. We didn’t even so much get a hello from Jorge as we entered 2. Took 40mins for food to arrive 3. Before food arrived 1 waitress said that I ordered incorrectly. 4. Jorge marched up to me challenging how I ordered and blamed me for the confusion. I explained if he had of told me maybe there would not of been the confusion. 5. Table was cleared as we were still eating 6. No thanks for eating there 7. Terrible grumpy attitude from all waiting staff bar one girl. 8. Restaurant was freezing. This was our first time ever being here and will not be back. I have got better service in McDonald’s. Not worth the money at all.

Disappointing to say the least, original stix and stones in the centre of Belfast is one of our all time favourite restaurants and one we would regular visit. Unfortunately the new location was poor at best, starters were cold and had to be sent back. Mains were fine but steak was not the same quality as original location, dessert was poor and took 30min to arrive for one person. Generally very let down with our experience and will absolutely not be back. Service left a lot to desire and left us feeling deflated.

Omg this place is fantastic! Based in East Belfast truly deserves to be a Michelin star. Absolutely loved it, food is amazing, staff is professional and super friendly , especially George , he was serving our table - what a man!!! We had a family dinner of 6 and age 19-78. We had pretty much all main dishes from your menu ( chicken, steak, fish and pork) and all were cooked to perfection. Massive well done to the chef! Will be back again. Thank you so much, we are very impressed. Quality and value for money

The steak is to die for....cooked to perfection. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The general vibe of the place is warm a d welcoming.

Great food (particularly steaks of course) with wonderful staff, in an excellent atmosphere. What else do you really need? An excellent addition to Ballyhackamore.

Great experience overall. The squid starter was great, and the mains following even better. The ribeye steak was very enjoyable. However the standout part of the night was the service. Carmen, our waitress, was amazing. Very attentive, very knowledgeable, and overall everything you want in a server. She was very informative about our wine, and personally kept me right in regards to the steak and the stone it was served on. Highly recommend, will be back.

Walking home on a dark dreary Belfast evening, I decided to go in for a meal, left so delighted with the food - best steak I’ve had in a long, long time, service excellent and with a welcoming smile, I would highly recommend. I’ll be back!

Amazing food. Steaks are delicious and finished on the hot stone by yourself at the table. Pan Jus and pepper sauce so full of flavour. Will definitely be back.

Had the best Sunday roast here last weekend. Had the crab cake starter, 3 mini crab cakes with gorgeous dressings. For main I had the roast beef, served pink 😍, with all the trimmings. The jus was out of this world. Our desserts were unbelievable, crème brulee with homemade shortbread and my partner had the baked Alaska. Def recommend

Disappointing. Firstly it was cold in the restaurant. The squid starter was rubbery and over salted and the garnish was minimal. The main steak was not great and I’d rather the kitchen cook my steak. Otherwise I may as well cook it at home myself. Gimicky and doesn’t work.

Visited for my daughters 19th birthday dinner. The service from arrival until leaving was outstanding. We booked from the pre-threatre menu, smaller selection of choices but there's something for everyone. Chicken wings were superb, curried parsnip soup, mussels and broccoli wings. Everyone bar one ordered the rump steak to be cooked on the stone, which was good fun. I ordered the fried onions as an extra they were lovely and the chips were perfectly cooked. Desserts were baked Alaska, sticky toffee and apple and blackcurrant terrine. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and is a nice setting. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
