Stir Fry Takeaway in Reading

A small family run Chinese takeaway at a reasonable price. The portion sizes have reduced slightly in recent times but who doesn't? I will go back again.

Don't eat from here, my chicken was pink and all day I have been really unwell, the owner is rude and said its ok to eat chicken thats pink and raw. Il be contacting environmental health and the food standards agency. Please check your food before eating.

Fantastic fish, superbly cooked. Even after carrying it home ( only five minutes away) it was piping hot.

Only people I've ever had indulge a custom order. Fantastic food, extremely friendly, really good price. I can't recommend enough, I go there all the time.

Superb fish and chips from Stir Fry Takeaway. Far better than expected from a late night open Chinese Takeaway. The thick cut chips were absolutely world class, being hand cut and cooked to perfection with a crisp exterior and soft, fluffy potato inside. The cod was cooked just right with a light, crisp, thin batter coating and was a good size. Good value for the portion sizes and everything cooked freshly to order. Some of the best fish and chips on offer in Reading and better than some award winning fish and chip shops I have tried - it really doesn’t get much better than this. Cod, chips and mushy peas cost £11.00. Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway on Wednesday evening for my wife and I, very disappointed. After spending our usual £35 found our chicken balls and salt and pepper chips completely overcooked, and the chicken curry contained so much onion and carrots there was hardly any sauce. Called them to say what we had, only received an apology. Called back the next evening to ask if they would replace the chicken balls and salt pepper chips, and only asked for a curry sauce. Even offered to bring down the food we couldn't eat, only to be informed they would only replace one item. Told them to stick it up their backside, then proceeded to dump the uneaten food on the counter in front of waiting customers. The only thing that was satisfying

First delivery from here, delivery within advised time, great portion sizes and good quality food, definitely order from here again..

I’m very funny with food. I only ordered egg fried rice to be safe. Has to be the best I’ve had. Definitely not cooked in old oil and it was 20 minutes from closing time. I’ll definitely without a doubt be ordering again next time down south. 做得好

Very bad the food didn’t come for 3 hours. And very rude not answering the phone and hanging up every time we called. Will not be using again. 👎🏻 We had to drive up there to get are money back and talk to them and it turns out they didn’t even start making it!!! We ordered at 6:30.

Our usual place was closed, so tried here on a whim. We were very pleased with our fish and chips. Delicious, big portions, great value, and excellent service. Looks like we may have to change from our local!

Placed an order for delivery, and it came 20 minutes early. Really friendly delivery driver and the food was hot when it arrived and very tasty.

The food is good, but don't ask for delivery as even though they *always* tell you it will be 45 minutes, it is actually nearer 80-90 minutes, and the food will be completely cold. Why can't they just be honest with us? Tell me that you're delivery times are longer, and I'd jump in the car and pick it up myself! So simple.

I cannot recommend this place enough! It’s one of the best take away places I’ve seen. They have everything on the menu. They get it ready under 20 min and it’s delicious every time. I’m a happy returning customer!

We just ordered a few items and I have to say it was the worst one we had. The rice tastes worse than bland was like it had just been rinsed under the tap and added the toppings zero color and zero flavour the chicken balls were only fried dough with a tiny piece of chicken and were so oily another dish was totally under cooked with raw onion ... Its not about the money its about the dinner that was ruined

Love this place! Lost count on how many times we ordered from here! Quality is much better than the usual GB Chinese takeaway. Udon noodles are sooo tasty!

The best Chinese Takeaway in Reading, everything so tasty. We have used Stir Fry several times and always first class.

Last night we had delivery from Stir Fry after having a flier put through our door. We have been looking for a good local Chinese take away. Overall our experience was very good and our order arrived early (40 mins after calling). All of the dishes we had were very good. We will order again and it’s nice to have a change from the usual Deliveroo Burger.

Speedy delivery. The crispy duck is so good and plentiful. Plum sauce is rich. Chicken balls and prawn toast very good. Suffice to say, there's never any leftovers for breakfast. My new favourite take away / food delivery :)

Tasty fried food... That good they don't need deliveroo and just eat to punt their wares. Great pork buns.

A conveniently located takeaway but the food tastes of so much ‘Ajinomoto’ and almost all sauces are the same no matter which meat you order!

Chips was cooked in same oil as the Chinese food this made the chips taste like a mild taste of spring rolls and other deep fry items of Chinese items. Please can you cook them in a different deep fryer as it was very off putting couldn't really taste the chips properly Service was fine and generous serving

Portion sizes were epic. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Needed a nap after eating it was that good. Also, my mum said the batter on the fish was top notch. 5 stars from mum too. Happy days.

Went in late one night, was terrifying! Place looks dingy, like some kind of 70s throwback. Food unremarkable. Open later than most in the area though, so two stars for that.

Amazing food, chips were insane with curry sauce too. Had stir fry also and that was so tasty, really good prices also they don’t hold back with their portion size 100% would recommend amazing local

First time here in a few years not impressed far too much rice in the pots and guy who was serving did not have much food knowledge and was unable to decribe the dishes will not be going back !!!!

They do really good chips. Way better than average. Other than that its standard chip shop/chinese fare and the staff are always friendly. Its pretty cheap. Thats really all i can say about the place

Delicious fish and chips and priced well. Been going here for over a year. Never had bad food. Can't comment on the Chinese food as I'm not a fan of any, but considering their fish and chips I know they know what they're doing.

Ordered Singapore noodles, read from reviews, good 😊, chips were not great but curry sauce made up for it. Chicken dishes and chowmein were good as well!

Recently gone under new management gross we had hairs in meal in the shop ants where cawling up walls i dont recomend at all i dont even know how its mannaged to stay open. there are far better chinese shops in caversham what i will recomend you go to like the happy diner , or go sing.
