I must say this was the No1 bar non Weather spoons breakfast I've had and absolutely first class staff ... And I've had many. A1 guy's 👌👌

Lovely friendly staff and well organised

Changed in the last Two years, A good atmosphere for after work drinks along with excellent staff that have been there for a while this is a must go. But BE WARNED when there is an arena event on next door it WILL get VERY BUSY!!!!

Great spoons. Toilets on ground floor too, amazing…food was nice and arrived fast. Drinks too, great scenery. Great stuff.

A splendid restaurant bar suited for all types. Beside the merrion centre & the music arena. Toilets at the far right of the bar area.

The perfect after theatre/arena venue to grab some food and a drink. Modern and bright building. Friendly staff. Good food and great service.

Issue with the stake served, corrected and sorted very promptly, 10/10 service and extremely helpful and friendly and polite staff, all of them on shift. What a cracking team of people:)

It was really busy leading up to a concert we were going to at the First Direct Stadium. However, the staff were really good, fast and the food came out in no time at all. Overall excellent.

Perfect service and great atmosphere before Judas Priest concert. Imagine Wetherspoon packed up with metal heads. Amazing!

Edge of city location within prime student accommodation locality. Based on the site of its predecessor by the same name, which came from the former site (Grosvenor Casino). Ideally located for the Arena and a good stop off before or after the Bengal or other restaurants nearby or at the Merrion centre.

Great helpful, friendly staff, and a great selection of drinks and food. Breakfast was lovely and cheap!

Exceptionally rude and aggressive staff. We went to move a table and a member of staff came over and said ‘Oi you can’t move that” I went to put it back and she accused me of pushing the table at her” Ten minutes later a manager came over and asked for a word in private which I declined and asked that he speak in front of everyone. He said his staff member was upset and that I should apologise, I responded that I was upset at the way I’d been spoken to. He then said we should all leave. 14 of us left that had intended to stay for several hours.

The first time we came here we had the special Christmas Dinner and it was piping hot and delicious. When we came on Monday we had the breakfast. It was luke warm. Very disappointing. It wasn't very busy so the chef can't have been run off his feet. Also empty tables needed clearing. Not sure if they were short staffed.

Remarkably clean and pleasant for a 'Spoons. Hasn't lost the ubiquitous odd chap shouting to himself in the toilets, mind...

Very impressed with this Wetherspoons, quick service efficient and friendly service, clean tables cleaned immediately and table became free. I will be back.

Unfortunately it wasn't the best experience in regards to food. I had the Tennessee burger and a friend had the BBQ burger. Very dry and bland, even the chips were dry.

This is my go to place for breakfast when staying in Leeds, beats most hotels for price and quality of food.

Costs a lot more than other Witherspoons

A typical Wetherspoons pub no atmosphere more like a school canteen but cheap breakfast cold give it a miss nothing's changed give it a miss

A standard Wetherspoon pub in a decent location near to the First Direct Arena. There is a good selection of food and drink at a good price and plenty of seating. You can order either at the bar or using the app making it convenient to visit.

Great burgers. The line for the Stella was polluted and made the beer incredibly sour, would be nice if they had a clean bar.

Fab weatherspoons, very large restaurant and food was lovely, probably the best weatherspoons we've eaten at. Children have to be out for 9pm but staff gave us 30 minutes warning and came over and reassured us not to rush our food even though it was approaching the time we needed to leave by as we weren't aware children had to be out by 9pm when we ordered our food.

Mixed grill - Unbelievable quick. Very good value.

Newly reopened Wetherspoons and so much different to how it used be! The place was busy with the lunchtime rush but the service was spot on.

According to my Google timeline, I have been in here 34 times but not sure since when. We keep going back for good reason. As Spoons go it's fantastic, in fact in my opinion the best Spoons in Leeds with the Cuthbert coming second. Never had a bad drink or food and again for a Spoons the queues at the bar or delivery times from the app are not too bad. When the is a gig at FD it does get super busy but thats to be expected.

Food okay, price same. But I prefer the atmosphere of Wetherspoon in old building. May I suggest a Japanese meal, that is the Japanese curry sauce with fried fish and rice? With Japanese beer.

Always rammed due to the location but the staff handle the busyness really well. Just wish it was bigger as sometimes can't get a table but that's not the venues fault.

Good Wetherspoons, HUGE seating area, can feel a little too open giving it a bit of a cold atmosphere, but the drinks and spoons food is decent here & they have quick friendly service.

Great place to visit for a very decent priced drink

Quite a large Wetherspoon's just on the edge of Leeds city centre. It has ample seating inside and outside. Very close to Leeds Arena, so great for a bit of food/drink before a gig there. Especially with the price of alcohol at the arena. It's the usual Wetherspoon's food and drink. Nice and cheap. Great full English breakfast.

Very busy but quick service & good price

We visited stick or twist waiting to see madness, it's very spacious, clean ,great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly.Will definitely be coming back to sample the food 😀 👍

A larger establishment with less than perfect seating arrangements however the food here is the best I have ever had at a Wetherspoons, no dry burgers or something that may have been frozen. I opted for a pizza which was really good, a thin and fresh base and fresh tasty toppings. My partner's food was fresh and tasty too. Well worth a visit especially if you are going to the arena.

This is a new Spoons to me and was the best of the five I visited in Leeds yesterday. My two favourites -City Station and Beckett's Bank were both poor yesterday. Quick and friendly service, nice clean glasses, ice and slice with a smile. And of course excellent value. The pub was reasonably full and there was a good atmosphere with a very diverse set of customers. The pub was clean and tidy and tables were being cleared quickly. This is now my new favourite in Leeds city centre.

Cold food and not much atmosphere, but lovely staff, good choice of hand-pulled beers , and clean, well-maintained toilets.

Everything one expects of a 'spoons. The beer is cheaper than a lot of the surrounding pubs, table service was very quick via the app. I also had a double cheeseburger & wished I would have walked over the road to Burger King, the best thing about it was the gherkin.

Very busy on a Saturday afternoon but food was prompt and very nice, toilets clean and right next to the arena

A group of me and my friends individually ordered our food and drinks. 4/5 people accidentally ordered their drinks with ice, so my friends asked if I could go to the bar to ask them to not add it. So I went to the bar and kindly asked the bartender if he wouldn’t mind changing it so we could have no ice, he responded you won’t have as much drink in your pint glass then, I reinstated, we have paid for a pint not half a pint… very confused as to why it was such a big deal for them to quickly change the drinks (it was not busy). And I actually said sorry would you mind thank you… the manager then comes over with the drinks with ice in them still and I said oh we were expecting them to come with no ice , could you do that please, I did ask the bartender if he wouldn’t mind changing it, she said it wasn’t on the ticket bluntly and then slammed the one drink with no ice onto the bar and turned away . She then came back and said in future, next time, order with no ice and slammed the rest on the table then through the straws onto the table causing them to land on my lap. Again, very confused as to why it was such a big deal when it was purely an accident and we asked politely for it to be changed. After observing the manager with other customers and staff, she didn’t crack a smile once and was cold in her mannerisms and body language. The energy from her negative vibes reflected onto the staff causing an unwelcoming atmosphere. Some advice, don’t bring your baggage into work, it isn’t professional. I won’t be visiting again for sure. The food was good and this isn’t a reflection on the cooks, purely the head of staff.

Lovely accessible venue. As with all Wetherspoons bars great range of food and drinks at really competitive prices. Lovely, friendly staff and place well maintained and kept clean and tidy. Recently celebrated a significant birthday and arranged a lunch for colleagues. 18 of us. Really well looked after. Ended up staying hours Lovely pub and lovely staff.

Nice experience before arena event.

I had a panini and chips with some elderflower tonic water. The panini was fulfilling, although I would’ve preferred to have my bacon more well done. The chips were a smaller portion than the usual. Overall, I wouldn’t say no to going again. Wetherspoons is a classic easy option.

Nice friendly staff, clean surroundings

This was a lovely Wetherspoons, I really liked the calm family atmosphere it had and it was quite clean. You know how some pubs smell like the carpets have been marinating in beer? Yeah it didn’t have that. The drinks came out within 3 mins of ordering on the app and the food followed quite quickly after. It was pretty standard food, it was hot and did the job for a quick lunch. I have to say I loved the variety of sauces and I would go again.

Went there today & got excellent service from the team leader , really friendly & very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place & I will be coming again soon. They have a good selection of non alcohol drinks which is good if that’s your preference.

We really enjoy this wetherspoons the food has always been really nice and arrived quick enough from ordering, plenty of tables available when we've been so never had to wait for one to come available and even when asking staff to wipe the tables down this has never been a problem and was done straight away.

The pub itself is very nice, the staff friendly. Disappointed with Wetherspoon meals in general recently, no longer a cheap and good meal, now the prices are on a par with many other establishments, but lack that little touch of finery found elsewhere, like a bit of garnish.

Nice Wetherspoons. Often pop in here on a Sunday after bowling. It can be super busy when gigs are on at the arena though.

Interesting place to spend a short amount of time. Plenty of table space for people watching and it's difficult to avoid overhearing loud conversation from over enthusiastic customers. Good value and great tasting coffee.

I hate Witherspoons however on this occasion I enjoyed this stick or twist, enjoyed the curry club.

I'm a regular visitor to their toilets when passing through. This was my first meal here. I fancied a mixed grill and it was on special offer down from £12.01 to £9.01. Even at that price it was only worth £5. Worst meal I've ever had in a wetherspoons. I accept I made a mistake going for the mixed grill. My fault.

Came here on a very warm September evening and the staff were phenomenal. Service was quick and to a high level despite the absolute scorching weather and visible tiredness of the staff. They even remembered who we were for the duration of our visit and what we ordered! Also big shout out to Courteney who was rushed off of her feet on the floor but never failed to have a smile on her face !

A good selection of cask ale and the occasional beer festival. A big pub but it can get very busy it there is an event at Leeds Arena. Outside seating is available. Usually Weatherspoons food menu.

Awful experience here, girl behind the bar (wearing a white shirt so presumably management) with glasses was very rude when me and my partner had drinks this Sunday. If you want to have a pleasant couple of drinks on a Sunday I would avoid this place and go elsewhere.

It is a friendly pub, but strange for a Wetherspoons not to have toilets up loads of stairs. Pleasant atmosphere, interactions with staff were limited, but what we did experience was happy staff. Food was nice and arrived quickly after ordering.

Great Spoons. Very well located near the Arena and Premier Inn. Nice outdoor space which catches the sun. A few knuckledraggers, but fairly lunatic free. Decent pint and large wine for £6.60, Try getting that in a large city centre elsewhere.

Came here because my friend invited us to enjoy snacking in the afternoon

First time visit... Lovely clean pub plenty of room between tables and a lovely outdoor space to sit. We had lunch before going to the theatre, service was quick and the food was nice. Will definitely visit here again.

Food was awful, curry had heat and no real flavour and seemed over cooked, the naan bread was stale, ordered 4 extra poppadoms got 2 and they were soggy, ordered extra dips never got them, rice was old and over cooked. My friend who ordered the same vomited his back up almost as soon as he had finished it. The servers just threw the meals on the table without even a look or a word to make sure we were the correct recipients.

Great Weatherspoons pub in the heart of the mini Manhattan slowly developing in the Arena quarter, big inside, food and drink well you can't beat the prices, always seems busy in the daytime, opposite the busy Merrion centre and LCCs offices, plenty of passing trade. I am particularly happy with the beer prices £3 fo a pint of GK Abbot, I was paying that 12 years ago in Bedford and other brews too. Always like the Weatherspoons pubs and use most of them at any time I'm in town, just great as always Mr. Martin

The Stick or Twist is one of the cleanest and most tidy Wetherspoons pubs that I've been in recently. Service with a smile. Staff polite. The only let down was the food that I ordered. The Fish & Chips was okay but as per usual with pub grub, the fish was overdone. Seems to be a trend with pub Fish & Chips.

I am defo not one to complain, especially about hospitality as I have worked in a bar and waited on and know how demanding it is. However, yesterday we called in to the stick and twist Wetherspoons ,by the First dorect arena , on the way to celebrate my son’s graduation , for a celebratory drink . The bar manager ( who was wearing a mask) asked my son for ID , whilst in his cap and gown . He’s nearly 24 and was not carrying ID in his robe , besides it was me being served. I explained that obviously to be getting a degree he would be over 21 and he refused and said he could of hired the gown to be served . But we were all dressed for it too. I said that was a shame, but he explained it was not worth the risk to him , which I kind of understood. I said fair enough but it was a shame and he sarcastically replied that he wouldn’t be having a drink in the morning anyway . I replied saying well we are all diverse and different aren’t we and walked away actually quite shocked . I believe strongly in a diverse and inclusive workforce, but surely this was just rude?? Never bite the hand that feeds you and if you have any sense , never go to this Wetherspoons.
