The greatest spot in the city where you come as a customer and leave as a friend. I’ve been coming to Steam 10+ years always the greatest experience.

Amazing views, great food, brilliant service especially Issy, she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

Steam has always delivered and it was great to be back after such a long time, food was tremendous, beer was cold and welcome and the service really second to none, definitely the best service in the City. The Pork I had was the best I have eaten for a very very long while. It really is a fantastic place for a client lunch as you can go there knowing you and your clients will come out having had a good feed in great surroundings. So glad Steam is as good as ever, I will be returning very soon.

Nice and cost wine bar just a short distance from Monument and Bank Underground Stations. Good atmosphere, nice and friendly service. Food was ok, recommend going elsewhere for food otherwise a good experience.

My friend and I met up for Christmas at this great wine bar. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, found us somewhere to sit as it was busy with Christmas parties. The sharing platter is such good value for money and the music was great. We've been here numerous times and we've always had a great evening.

I came here with my work colleagues for our Christmas party. From the start it was a great atmosphere, really buzzing but not too loud to talk. The waitresses were very helpful. One of our party had a problem with her food due to dietary requirements and they went out of their way to get something different for her. All the food was excellent, I couldn't fault it. The DJ was really good and we had a nice space to dance in. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening

I have been coming here for years, and surprisingly have never written a review. Stephen and his staff bend over backwards for their customers. We recently had our Christmas get together here, which had a menu created especially for us. For £29.50 a head, plus 12.5% service charge, I was very impressed. The table was set very festively and we had a wonderful time. Their monthly quiz is also challenging. Highly recommend this place. In January, when the purse strings are a bit tight, Steam Wine Bar also comes through with 2 for 1 main courses, and £10 bottles of wine. Do yourself a favour and check it out.

The service is excellent and food quality incredible. Warm atmosphere with great bar and beers. Have been for many a large function there and every time return never disappoints. Great for just a lunch to get away from all the rush of the city. A special heaven.

Came in for a casual business lunch. We'd not booked, but they kindly found us a small table that could handle 3. Food was good, burgers and pie. Wine list is pretty good. The staff were really good throughout, turning up the AC when someone started fanning themselves with a menu

Great wine bar with lovely food and the best bar staff I have ever come across. The lady in charge the evening we visited was so friendly and helpful and made the best Cosmopolitan I've ever tasted, and I've tasted a lot!! We were there on a Fri evening and there was a DJ and dancing. Great night, can't wait to visit again.

I have visited Steam Bar quite a few times now for various work events including two Christmas lunches. Stephen is just a joy to liaise with and is so helpful making sure every event your planning is how you wish. He makes you feel at ease that everything will run smoothly which it always does and its such great quality and great value for money. The food is perfect and the atmosphere is perfect. As the website states you really do leave there as a friend. I would most definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

Went here with friends on the off chance, lovely place very smart and clean. We had a platter plus quail eggs for a starter, it serves four people ,( careful more than enough leave room for your mains), then three of us had the Belly of Pork burger and I had a Fish finger sandwich. Absolutely brilliant. The house white was very good and the bill not too bad. Lovely staff. Cannot wait to go back

Went here for Monday lunch I and my wife and really enjoyed the food & the atmosphere. We stared with smoked salmon, then had home made steak pie with proper shortcrust pastry and finished with sticky toffee pud. All courses were lovely. The pie was to die for.The service was excellent, very helpful when we had questions about the menu. We also had the house red wine was very drinkable. Would go again.

Basically, I decided to give Mon cherie another surprise on a Friday by just saying "let's go out?" We jumped on the tube and negotiated our way down from NL to the SteamWineBar. To be honest I was very excited given the reviews I'd read and indeed hungry. Upon arrival, the interior lighting was dimmed making the venue feel seedy, quite roomy and abit strip jointy minus any poles and stage. No views of the outside world rendered the presence of 3 other couples -insignificant and unromantic. The menu choice was restricted as the other choices on the menu were finished. We chose Chilli Chicken Skewers with Peanut Butter & Coconut, Smoked Salmon, Capers, Shallots, Brown Bread & Lemon, Superbeans salad, Grilled Salmon & Swordfish Brochette with Saffron Rice & Creole Sauce, Chocolate Sticky Toffee Pudding, Toffee Sauce & Ice Cream and Warm Chocolate Brownie with Toasted Pecans & Ice Cream. It may seem that we consumed a lot of food but the presentation was meagre and pretentious. Late romantic dinners at the SteamWineBar are Not Steamy at all!!

My husband and I had a voucher for a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine at this wine bar. I didn't know what to expect but we went along with an open mind after a poor meal at a so called top class restaurant two days earlier. The staff were friendly as soon as we arrived, we were seated and given menus and the choice of foods covered by the voucher deal we had was the full menu. We ordered our food and wine (which was very nice) and sat and chatted as the bar was quiet as it was late lunch time on a Friday and I got the impression the bar is used by city office workers. The food arrived promptly and it was very well presented and tasted lovely. The portions were of a decent size ( my husband has a good appetite) and the quality was good. As I said we had attended a top class restaurant a couple of days earlier and the food, wine and service were far superior at the Steam Wine Bar. I would recommend anybody visiting London to find this bar which is based near the Monument alongside the Thames. It is tucked away but is worth the search. Thank you to the lovely staff who looked after us, we felt valued.

Some work mates go to this place regularly and now I had the chance to try it myself. I'm glad I did. My lunch was really good and although we had to enquire about when we were going to get it, we didn't mind as the place was clearly busy. A busy restaurant is a good sign after all. I had the corn beef hash and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends had the chilli & the chicken pie. Both of these dishes are favourites with my friends. The Steam Bar offers good quality food at a reasonable price. I recommend this place.

Mi hija me dio un Wowcher en nuestro reciente viaje a Londres para una comida de tres platos con vino. Cuando llegamos justo después del mediodía que estaba vacía, pero la mayoría de las mesas estaban reservadas. Nos sentamos rápido y ordenados un poco de vino mientras miramos los menús. Con el Wowcher pudimos recoger 1 plato de entrada, plato principal y postre. Comencé con el pollo chili y mi esposa las gambas y aguacate. Ambos estaban bien y eran bastante generosos. Principal pedí el filete y mi esposa tenía el bacalao al vapor. Tomó un poco de tiempo para que llegue la red eléctrica, ya que el lugar estaba lleno de gente de negocios locales. Ambos llegaron bien y caliente y bien presentada. A mi esposa le encantó el bacalao pero el caldo un poco salado. Mi carne fue hecho perfecto y estaba delicioso con la salsa chimichura. De postre tuve el sticky toffee y mi esposa tenía la cálida diabólico. Ambos eran muy deliciosos. La camarera se disculpó por el servicio más lento ya que estaban mucho más lleno que de costumbre ya que la gente había venido a ver un partido de cricket. En general, una experiencia agradable. El servicio era excelente y la comida era muy buena. Volveremos.

Although this wine bar is tucked away in a side street it is well worth a visit. The service was excellent and there is a very extensive food menu. The food was delicious and well worth the money.

Cuando a este lugar con un amigo. Un agradable bar de vinos con un restaurante de tamaño medio. Un poco alejado de la zona de la ciudad y correr, bastante razonable, fue un placer ser tener una conversación sin TV ni música un poquito desgastadas. El servicio era bueno y había un menú a un precio razonable. Tuve el pastel casero y puré, maravilloso! Una ubicación estupenda a un precio razonable. Si quieres probar algo diferente que bien merece una visita.

Off the Main Street and hidden somewhat down another back street. Then you descend down several flights of stairs to a reasonable sized bar area with good amount of areas for friends to group together. Good for events; my company regularly runs a quiz in it. Bar offers the usual popular tipple. Ale is minimal but there was something. Great tasty nibbles get served up. Popular for Karaoke. Good service for bar team. Gents toilet is on the small side though.

Apart from the slight difficulty of having to descend about 26 stairs (and back up again), this is an excellent venue for a light lunch in the City. I had one of the best chicken and avocado sandwiches I have ever tasted, with nice garnishing, and a first-rate cup of coffee. Both were well presented and pleasantly and quickly served, and the bill totalled around £10. Superb value.

We went here on an evening after work, it was surprisingly quiet, which was nice for a quiet drink.We had 2 vouchers, 1 for a sharing platter and cocktail for 2 and another for beer + burger each. This was a mistake doing both in 1 night as it was too much food, but that's our fault!The sharing platter was pretty good and a big portion for just 2 people.The burgers were really nice, perfectly cooked.I'd recommend this place to couples who want a quiet after work drink, or people on a business meeting where they can talk.

we went early evening when it was very quiet. The service was good and quick. The steak was very tender and well cooked. Very enjoyable meal. The only thing lacking was a bit of atmosphere but we didn't mind too much.The staff knew it was my birthday but nothing special or even an aknowledgement.

I found out about this place via Groupon. Its located in the City, 2 streets from Monument station which makes it a good location. If you don't know about it, you will never find it. It's a basement bar kind of area where you can also appreciate food. We came for food but clearly all the business men from the City were enjoying a beer/wine and talking. The food was delicious but I would recommend it for drinks rather than food. The place is also kind of a sports bar it seems, there are screens everywhere. In terms of prices, main meals range from 8£-14£. Everything was very nice, I had a sharing platter, sirloin steak and fries and Beer. Everything was great.

This place has it all good wines, fine selection of sandwiches and other meals. recommend the blue cheese & bacon sarnie, or the burger but the homemade scotch eggs are good way to start off your lunch. Often go here with work colleagues, nice and friendly staff would recommend for anyone looking for a posh sandwich and a nice glass of wine.

I've eaten at Steam before for lunch. I can say the food is pretty good. The place is filled with the London suited crowd. The place itself is nice as well.I had the pulled pork sandwich they offer. The chips in the sandwich were both good. I had a Budweiser. My colleagues had chilli and a club sandwich they both liked as well.Now the bad bit. The service was terrible. Once the food came out, not once did our server come by and check on us for drink refills or anything. After lunch and empty drinks in front of us, we sat there for 10 minutes. The waitress walked by us several times without even looking with me trying to catch her eye. Eventually, I had to walk over to her and ask for the bill as we didn't want to stay any longer. The bill came a few minutes later and then our Director had to sit there another five minutes with his card there for her to come back in charge the card. It was fairly busy but I wouldn't say that busy.Ashame as I would have given a higher rating but the service just let it down.

It takes a bit to find the place as its in a basement. We were greeted by the manager who showed us to our table. He took our drink order and brought a sample of wine as i was not sure how it would taste. Our meal was hot and tasty. We had the chocolate brownie to top it off. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. I would recommend this place to anyone. Enjoy!!!!

We went here for a second time on a groupon deal, The food was good unfortunatly the place is frequented by a lot of pensioner style louts (bankers old enough to be grandads shouting their mouths off like teenagers on their first taste of alchohol).anyway back to the food, we had mussels for starter not bad at all then steak. this food was really nice and the staff seemed nice but did not seem to have much direction from their management so looked like a shambles, I watched as the manager rudely shouted orders at his staff in front of customers which was not needed.would not go again
