Starbucks Waverley Steps in Edinburgh, City of

I come to this starbucks 3 x a week for the last year and a half I need to say all the staff are amazing but especially Pavlina she's always. Gone above and beyond her customers her service is so so good it's so natural for her her smile lifts my day we have amazing conversations please acknowledge her if your ever in store she's absulutely amazing thanks so much she knows most regulers by first name and goes out her way to say hello even if she hasn't served you absolute LEGEND wish staff were like her all over business would be thriving

Right so I have a bladder problem which means I can’t really hold in my pee, and the other day I was at Waverley and couldn’t find a toilet anywhere- finally found Starbucks’ one and literally ran before I peed myself. when I was waiting, I was confronted by an old male worker, who was extremely rude to me, giving me disgusting glares: saying that they are not public toilets and I need to ask before going apparently. I told him my circumstances and that I was about to make a purchase afterwards- but after his cheek I will be taking my business elsewhere. I am a regular happy customer at Starbucks and this experience was just disappointing to be honest. Sort out your customer service please.

As a Starbucks junkie I frequent a lot of outlets in the capital, Edinburgh, and it's fair to say that every outlet has a warm and friendly individual or two who makes me feel valued, but not an entire team, except that is for the Waverly Steps Starbucks. The team in this particular outlet is, without question, the absolute warmest and friendliest and, in my view, the best in the capital. They are hard working, dedicated, and professional barista's, but more importantly, they are human beings with feelings and soul who genuinely make my visits a pleasure. At the risk of embarrassing one or two, I have to shout out Andy, Paulo, Pavlina, Kate, Eva and Ares.

I’m a gold member which means I like Starbucks coffee and I drink quite a lot of it. Today I got told off for not following the Starbucks protocol for ordering. Drink, take way, name - or is it the other ways around.? Whatever I did It was wrong and I received a lecture by the surly, rude barista. (Think he should reconsider his career in hospitality. Not sure it’s playing to his strengths). Had the festival been on I’d have been checking to see if I’d accidentally stumbled into a show. Anyway recommend you take your custom elsewhere. There’s loads of coffee places in Edinburgh. If you want a Starbucks get off the train at Haymarket. The staff are quite nice there.

At Starbucks today I went to order a drink , the price was higher than I thought it would be so politely/confused I asked and then the worker aggressively said “enough of the attitude” I then went to pay not realising they didn’t take cash he then banged the screen and said card only again in an aggressive way workers name was Liam and I will certainly not be back after this awful experience he then verbally was rude to the customer behind me as-well I hope this is deal with as it’s no way to treat people I understand we’re in difficult times but there is absolutely no need for it!!!!!!

Visited yesterday for coffee (decent). Despite only one customer ahead, had to wait 5 mins from entering to receiving simple order of one coffee with no apology for delay. Plenty of directionless staff present, with no supervision apparent. Toilet facilities were "Closed", mid afternoon.

Great coffee shop, this was great coffee with fast service. The staff were freindly and helpful. The price was reasonable.

This Starbucks is a disgrace to the brand name. Haven’t experienced such rude service anywhere, ever. It’s as if they’re doing you a big favour. Be alert because you get shouted at if you don’t hear your order and as they don’t put names on the cup you have to just hope no one else has ordered a black Americano. I got into trouble for not clearing a dirty table, full of cups from the previous 10 customers. Think that’s what your paid for mate! If you MUST have Starbucks there are plenty others in walking distance.

Went in to this Starbucks about 5pm today and actual disgusted at the way I was spoken to. I used the toilet and the guy who was cleaning it I asked him "aw can I use this toilet"? To which I got a reply in a blunt cheeky tone saying "I'll be 2 mins" I said ok and then he said "if you can wait that long" like obviously I can wait that long but the way you spoke to me is minging. Could the manager please contact me regarding this as I was astonished not happy!!! Customer service makes you a zero due to this.

We love Starbucks and go frequently to local ones, tried this one while in the area. Comfortable although no clean tables when we went in. Coffee was the same as always but we love it. Odd choice of music as always at starbucks

You get the usual burned, overpriced coffee, staff with no self-respect, and an atmosphere of self-righteousness. But on the up side they use actual ceramic mugs for people sitting in, and their one-and-only bathroom is clean and well stocked.

Handy for breakfast or snacks when getting off or going for train. Usual Starbucks offerings, quite quiet when we were in, mellow French music in the background.

Avoid that Statbucks,rude staff,Im working as a manager in one of the airports coffie shops and I know it is hard job,but if u dont like it then why you even bother work in place like that!Lady who made my coffe she was soooo rude!

Visited with my partner whilst we waited to get the tram back to the airport. I was astonished at the attitude of the staff and the conversations that I overheard from behind the counter.Firstly the member of staff sniggered and was rude to my partner because she stood at the wrong side of the counter to order. Then to over hear two female staff discussing either a staff member or customer (not quite sure which) having a disability of which they were expressing very loudly that they didn’t believe she did have a genuine disability. This is simply unacceptable for customers to have to listen too I equally over heard them slagging a customer off that had ordered a cappuccino incorrectly. In all honesty I do not know how this Starbucks has any customers when they have staff that are willing to shout this kind of conversation loud enough for customers to hear and display such a poor attitude towards their customers.Judging by the other reviews on here this is a common theme for this Starbucks and I think the management of this shop should be taking these reviews seriously because it is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We visit Starbucks regularly as it’s out favourite coffee shop, however this visit we were extremely disappointed. The staff were rude and unwelcoming talking loud about things that are really not appropriate for customers to hear. We will not be visiting this branch again.

I love a 'bucks but this one is far from my favourite unfortunately. The staff could be friendlier and the restaurant could be cleaner.

We went into this starbucks branch and i ordered a medium frappuccino, not knowing they would charge me for a large. so i went back to the till and asked them to change it. After getting a scowl and several sighs she finally asked someone to change it. One of my other friends was scared to ask for something because of the customer service I had just had.

We love Starbucks and its always the highlight of any overseas trip to find the nearest one to our hotel as it brings back memories of our very first overseas family holiday.

This branch of Starbucks is not my favourite by a long way. I have been here on several occasions and always struggled to find a clean table and had a good wait to be served. The coffee is OK when you eventually get some and you will find the usual range of Starbuck's pastries, muffins and instant toasties etc on display. I think there are better places for coffee and a snack in the vicinity.

Visited Starbucks this morning, first class service and great coffee, service was very efficient and helpful.

Near to Waverley station you can sit down and enjoy a nice cup of coffee - or other drinks, and they also have a nice range of cakes and biscuits. The good thing is you can sit there, relax (chat with others, read or interact with your mobile device) and you are not hassled. Of course this is part of a franchised chain - but it is also different - with individual seating to a large table for up to a dozen. Since it’s located half-way up or down Waverley steps you can pop in on your way to or from the trains.

This is a great place to relax , also note it opens at 05.45am so its great for a early morning Coffee , when on your way to attend work

The menu is regular, place is spacious and nice. It was very cosy on a chilly Monday evening. The potato wafers were super cool. The staff was courteous and the service was good. Very conveniently located.

I have been here a number of times, and each time the staff get ruder. You feel like a hinderence when ordering, never get a smile even when you are polite and smiling at them. I also do not like that the last time I went I was given my drinks in takeaway cups even though I was sitting in. When I looked around just about everyone else also had been given takeaway cups. Now if maybe their dishwasher was broken etc, just say so, people would understand. I don’t know if that was the case or not, but reading other reviews it looks like it happens a lot. Now I understand they are near the station, so a lot of people may grab a Starbucks before heading there, but why not ask if the customer is sitting in or not like in other cafes? I also do not appreciate being given my cake in a paper bag to eat at a table.

This is my favourite Starbucks , its always well-run and friendly . It is however , fairly busy so you have to be patient and wait to get served - its worth it , however .

I came into the store before my partner and myself caught the train for our holiday. We nipped in for a quick coffee and a sit down. The guy at the till was so lovely and friendly he raised my spirits a bit. However when my partner asked for a frappuccino ( I work for Starbucks so I know frappuccinos are a bit frustrating especially if they are customised.) the girl on bar (think her name was Eva, mid build and dark hair) rolled her eyes picked up the cup and said "really?" to her colleague who also sniggered. I find this very rude and unprofessional and it's not the first time I've dealt with her rudeness in the store. I went to sit down with my partner and it was evident she was sniggering at us as she kept looking over and laughing. Not a nice girl if shes making customers feel uncomfortable. Maybe she needs trained on her customer service skills again? Or just not work with customers at all? When I'm in town I've always popped in for a quick drink and each time it's the bar that has the bad attitudes. Everyone on the till that I have been served by has been friendly and kind. I also had a to tell a partner how to make a drink times and waited 10 minutes for it. Not a great store if you're looking for good customer service.

Probably my favourite take away coffee in terms of taste and strength but it comes at a price. Handy location for the station.

I really enjoyed the mint refresher that was sold here at the time and I enjoy the atmosphere here too.

Can never get a seat in here which is a shame as would visit more often if it was easier to get sat down. Decent coffee at least!

Visited here on Friday with my boyfriend for a hot chocolate as it was cold outside when I arrived at the counter I was aware that they were able to make hot chocolates with dairy free milks and I was happy about that as some places don't give that option. Having a very sensitive dairy allergy I asked the lady who served me if they used the same milk purger to forth/ heat the dairy free milk as they do the normal milk as the contamination can make some of us people with allergies unwell or feel unwell, she couldn't have been any more rude and cocky with her reply to me which was " does it look like we have a separate machine to forth your milk? It's never killed anybody yet!" I was left gobsmacked by her reply, this lady clearly doesn't suffer any allergies her self and clearly doesn't have good customer service skills, perhaps she needs to be re trained in her customer service! A customer should never be made to feel stupid for asking a question which actually wasn't stupid at all! After telling her to leave it and walking off to wait for my boyfriend drink I glanced back to see her sniggering! Won't be visiting here again management should send her back to training school oh and to add her name badge said " the girl with no name" is that because she's so rude to everybody they have had to take her name off so complaints can't be directed at her?!

I visited Starbucks at Waverley Steps in Edinburgh to meet a couple of people I know on some business. This is a very roomy and comfortable location to come to either alone, socially or on business. There is a variety of seating options and plenty staff on hand to make sure service runs smoothly. I used my own Starbucks thermal mug and enjoyed being able to select from a good range of hot drinks and cakes etc. Whether you want to chat , work on laptop with their excellent wifi this is a great central location to come to in Edinburgh which is on the doorstep of the railway station and right in the heart of the city centre. This is my favourite Starbucks location. Well done on customer service.

I arrive to Edinburgh and I saw the sign of starbucks so I went and after I made my order I want to go to the bathroom. They tell me that the key is not "in the box", so may be a person inside the bathroom... I wait and I wait ... and after i reclaim to the personal that "noone go out of the bathroom " they dont care ...and even they tell me that i have to wait longer because the key is "not in the box" ...Uff... I decided to go to mc Donalds bathroom and then came back to Starbucks to finished my meal .

I regularly visit this Starbucks Cafe on my visits to Edinburgh. The Service there is always quick and efficient and the seating is always easily obtained. The choices of coffee and tea are always excellent and with the free Wifi it has always been a convenient place to stop and do some work or research on line.

The staff at this Starbucks are amazing, they are all very friendly, and like to get to know there customers. Mornings can seem rushed, as they are very busy due to there prime position. The coffees are always perfect.

The aroma of the roasted coffee brings you to your senses, it was nice drinking a cup of coffee before starting our Edinburgh Tour

Before going into the Mall we stopped for a quick coffee it was very busy but the service was quick and professional by the staff and we were made very welcome although we were taking our coffee out.

Visited today staff friendly and helpful without being pushy ( I have visible disability). Whole area clean with staff clearing dishes as needed. Well managed queues at busier time.

I don't normally use this Starbucks, I usually go to the one on the royal mile, where I have breakfast 3 times a week. I stopped here today because I woke up with cystitis and I couldn't walk much further before taking my medicine. .. anyway, I ordered my usual breakfast (porridge and latte), got my medicine and sat down to eat. After half hour unfortunately I needed the toilet... just to find out that it's now locked. A kind sign on it reminds Starbucks customers that the food hall downstairs offers nice and clean toilets. What?! I've just spent 5 quid here mate, are you joking me??? Tried to get the key, but the staff was simply "passing the parcel". So I left my breakfast and ran downstairs where I had to fork out 20p to piss. Great. Use the Costa technique, code on the receipt. Never more. Thank you.

For some reason whenever I go to this Starbucks they charge 30p more than the others do for the same drink I order. Also they never clear the tables or wipe them, well I've never seen them do it and there's either no room for you to put your drink or the tables are really sticky or both. Also it's very cramped and the seats are situated in a way that you feel your disturbing other people's conversations and you don't no where to look. This is definitely my least favourite Starbucks.

Cappuccino came - half coffee and half froth (in paper cup - even though we were sitting in). When my husband asked for a little more coffe in the cup and less froth he was told by the manager he should of asked for a latte! My husband then said he got dome frith but not half a cup of it in Costa to which the manager replied " well go to Costa".

Popped in for a quick fix of egg nog latte with cheese & ham croissant. Firstly I requested a regular eggnog latte, it came as a large !!!!

C'è uno ampio spazio dove sedersi, comode poltrone e buon caffè, c'era un tavolo con diversi posti liberi occupato da una sola persona, abbiamo chiesto se potevamo sederci ed è stato gentilissimo e ci ha fatto accomodare con un sorriso. Per poter fruire del bagno abbiamo dovuto chiedere la chiave al banco mostrando lo scontrino, un po' antipatico, ma forse avranno avuto problemi di eccessi.

I have been to many better Starbucks around the world than this one. It is a largish, spacious café but has little by way of atmosphere. The Americano was really weak - more so than in many other braches of the same chain. Many tables were un-cleared. I appreciate that this is a 'fast food' outlet but it seemed generally to be lacking in attention. In our opinion there are many better places to get a good coffee near to Waverley station.

It’s quite spacious place. Music bit too loud. Coffee as expected. It’s a Starbucks, after all. Easy to access.

Since I had a few extra moments to spare before my daily commute, I decided to treat myself to one their "famous" pumpkin spice lattes (with soya milk). As usual they asked my name and scribbled it on the paper cup. it wasn't until the woman called out "pumpkin spiced latte for Flannel!" that I realised she was speaking to me! I also ordered an almond croissant which tasted slightly stale and had no almond paste inside! Disappointed to say the least.

pay attention to the cashiers when they give you the change. the quality of the food is (on average) the same that you can find in other starbucks. the service is different (I hope!). On the morning of July 13, 2015 (10 a.m.), just arrived in edinburgh, I went to waverley starbucks and I paid with a bill of 50 pounds. I am an Italian tourist and do not know the different types of English banknotes. The cashier gave me three bills 10 to rest, the same size, one of which was a Danish banknote (value 1 euro instead of 14 euro as the pound sterling) that said "sterling" and "10 pound", difficult to to recognize for an Englishman, let alone a tourist .Me noticed it when I tried to pay with that bill in a restaurant to aberlour the next day, making the figure of the tourist who became rub: I did not expect in a place as edinburgh and in a place like starbucks.

We stopped here several times during our week long stay in Edinburgh. Set up like most other Starbucks around he world this unit is located just down the steps from Princess St. as you enter Waverly Station. Friendly and courtesy staff reminds us of our local Starbucks back here in the states. Good job!

This is an ok Starbucks with comfy seats and a relaxed atmosphere. Macchiato was very good but why serve dry, stale baked goods at 9am? Mind you there doesn't seem to much competition on the station.

Staff are always excellent in this Starbucks. This is my 'local' so to speak when I am at work. Coffee is always very good and piping hot, which I like. Can be very busy at times but bear in mind this is next to Edinburgh Waverley railway station so understandable. Nonetheless, the staff cope brilliantly.

We had brunch and catch up on emails on the way to the station. Handy on the way down the steps to Waverley and a much better range of eats than what is available downstairs. Handy if you fancy something a little better than what is available at the station.

По мне - так один из лучших и самых чистых Старбаксов, в которых довелось побывать! И очень забавная команда персонала - шутки не кончаются, прямо настроение поднимают.
