We’ve been here a few times because the opening hours are handy. Inside, the tables are often uncleared and dirty. They regularly get food and coffee orders wrong. They list items they don’t sell (would it kill them to cover it over or put up a sign?!) Staff stand around chatting or checking their phones and treat customers like an inconvenience. Go to Chesneys, Dragonville instead. It’s further away but a clean, friendly, family run business. It’s not even cheap! Avoid.

Ridiculous cashless coffee place, defeating the object of being in Stanley where there are many older folk who don't use bank cards etc. Poor service from staff and also adding to the problem of society trying to push cashless. If I could have rated zero I would.

Quality and price very typical of Starbucks. Visit at least twice a month, however on every visit cleanliness of tables is constantly a problem, really dirty, not cleaned or c look cleared, have to do it ourselves every time. Toilets are also not cleaned regularly. Very disappointing

Store always tries to please. I like my drinks extra hot and wet, up to now there’s only 2 baristas who actually does that. There are a couple who need to smile a bit more as come over very sharp and grumpy but on the whole it’s a cup of coffee so I don’t male abfuss

Visited here Monday only to find no longer a Starbucks! So instead of my favourite mocha with peppermint syrup I got a mocha (which I enjoy nearly as much when it's Starbucks) but this one was disgusting and undrinkable. Not a nice drink at all. Left it on the table, waste of money. This has been a regular coffee house (at least 2 or 3 times a week) for a while, sadly won't be back now. Shame.

Located in the Marriott hotel building is Starbucks. Staff were unhelpful but we eventually got what we ordered. It's a nice space to sit and chill. The Flat White was unremarkable.

8 – Starbucks. We know, it's not technically a shop, but Starbucks is one of the few nationwide cafe chains which caters to dogs. Although the coffee shops don't allow dogs inside, they welcome dogs outside—and even offer them a tasty “puppuccino” (cup of whipped cream) if you ask! If this is website policy why was a dog in today?

The tea was good, the staff pleasant and I had no problems finding a seat. Yes, its full of students but not exclusively so. Fairly typical of a Durham coffee shop I guess.

Every table taken by one student and laptop and empty cup 😡 communal high bench table empty when it’s obviously a better option for students leaving tables free for other customers 😡 left them to it and found somewhere more non student friendly. Must reduce paying customers to zero, oh apart from that initial purchase. I won’t visit this hotel again, like other reviewer said, makes you feel you are in Uni Library !

A lovely Starbucks tucked away inside the Durham Marriott Hotel on Elvet. We often spend time relaxing here as a family. There are two Starbucks in Durham.

Had lovely hot chocolate and a sandwich here with friends earlier in the week. The service and food were good. The cafe is on the corner of the Royal County hotel and accessible from Old Elvet or from the hotel. Was very popular with lots of WiFi users! Good stuff.

After having been closed for a couple of years the pub is now due to re-open on the 31st October 2024. Greene King are saying that the re-opened pub will revert to it's former name of 'The Sportsman's Arms' (in recent years it had been named 'The Belmont'). I've given a three star (average) review as I haven't a clue yet what the pub will be like - I just thought it might be useful to post that it is re-opening soon but I can't work out how to post without giving a rating. I'm hoping to return with a five-star review soon!!

Lovely birthday treat. Food is great. A bit noisy as it was very busy although that just shows it is very popular . Will be back
