The most dog friendly coffee shop in town. Staff generally warm and welcoming . Open earlier and later than others which is good for me

My husband and I popped in for a coffee last month, and I just wanted to write a quick review. All the staff were so kind and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were all rushed off their feet at the time. It was such an enjoyable experience and normally, we would go to a small cafe but this time we came to the bigger chain. I'm so glad we did. The staff are a credit to Starbucks.

Dropped in here as I was sight seeing in Shrewsbury for the weekend. Served by a really friendly chap, called Paul, knew the area really well. Great service and gave some really good advice about places to see while here. Happy to help and a credit to the company.

Called into Starbucks in the square to get a drink as I have done since it opened went to order a drink to be told that they no longer take cash . I have a debit card but under principal I didn’t want to use it , I think you should have the choice after all it is legal tender and if we all used cards we would loose are currency and another part of our British identity.

Myself and 4 children visited Starbucks around 5pm on 22 Decemeber 2022. What a HUGE disappointment. Firstly, the drinks list was behind the counter and very small, so was pretty unredable to anyone with presbyopia (common in your 50s). When I asked a staff member about this she replied, "I don't write the drinks list". No apology, and no effort to suggest what drinks I might llike, Just dismissal. After an afternoon's shopping, we needed the toilets. There was one and you needed a code to access it - all fine with us. What wasn't fine was the state of the toilet. It was disgusting. In fact one of the children (a 19 year old male student) refused to use it! The 3-4 members of staff had obviously not checked it for many hours. This is simply not acceptable. Clearly for the staff chatting and laughing was more important. I am not a fussy person at all, and this is the first time I have written such a review on Trip Advisor. There are many other coffee shops to visit in the lovely town of Shrewsbury. I suggest you visit one of those, and not Starbucks. (Apologies for the toilet photos, but I was so incensed I took photos.)

this place is overrated, the service was awful, the food is such bad value, why go here when you can go to 'House of Yum'.

I read in the press Starbucks were participating in this scheme which made us want to have lunch there. We chose two paninis and ordered Frappuccinos. The cashier rung up £16 on the till. I then asked the young male assistant (about 17)if they are participating on the eat out to help out and he said sorry we are not. I then said leave it then we will go to Caffè Nero as there was more choice of sandwich we wanted and they were doing the offer and more seating.

Poor staff coping admirably, cream tea sounded goof. Crockery very badly chipped, teapot spout, cup, teapot, this always makes u hope china bits aren't inside! Little organisation, long queue, one till, no instruction for a first time visitor, not even written on the menu. And the dreaded give customers as little milk as possible in a very leaky minute jug. I don't often write a bad review but this was not good. Management seemed missing.

Not the sort of language you expect on a review and most certainly not the language I expect from self confessed hungover bar staff as they fall in for their shift at midday, I would have been inclined to let the first f*** go as it was obvious the member of staff didn't realise there was a family with 2 children in the room and although not directed at us there was at least a moment of realisation and apology. HOWEVER, 2 s***s and a sciatica related f*** later and we were speechless. There is obviously a staff shortage as one of the rants was related to having to complete split shifts as the manager isn't willing to just pick one CV from the 20 he has and employ them on the spot with no interview or trial, I can only imagine that's how this particular member of staff got their job. James, you could try the barmans mate, apparently she is as keen as mustard, I would rather run a customer facing business short of staff than have customers endure this sort of behaviour. I won't name names but I'm sure James the manager can line up the sciatica comment or maybe even DNA test the lip stick marks on the window from the night before that they were so proud of, referring to them selves as a bunch of 'window lickers', appalling! I have a feeling this review may even be a badge of honour.
