Starbucks in Cheshire West and Chester

No music, no atmosphere, no manager (day off apparently), no WiFi, rude staff, very average coffee, what more could you ask for? O yes, also needs cleaning.

We have come three weeks in a row now and have been turned away even though we have got there 10 minutes before closing time. Bad customer service!

Visited today to be greeted by copious amounts of fruit flies in the restaurant and dirty tables. Slow service when it wasn’t busy, one member of staff was unapproachable and miserable to say the least. Toilets were dirty and no toilet roll provided.

Staff was friendly, but it was a mess and no toilet paper. It was not busy, so the tables could have been cleaned. Tables need a wipe, and toilets need a clean.

I just wanted to give a shout out to a lovely young lady, Esmé who served my husband & I this afternoon. She was a real sweetheart & a credit to your company. She knows her stuff & can pour a fantastic cappuccino! She really exudes kindness & sadly, that is SUCH a rare quality on display these days. Keep up the great work Esmé & you will go far! Also, the lovely chap who took our order was SO kind as well. What a nice in-store experience.

Visit regularly, but as do many others, Masam has memorised my two top drinks. He’s always in a fantastic mood and makes a mean Caramel Macchiato properly! The entire team are always super friendly, shout out to Nikki as well.

Not been in for a while due to past experiences. However went in today (Friday) and was greeted by a very cheerful guy called Basum who was friendly and welcoming and made our drinks perfectly. The building is still a bit unwelcoming by way of decor but they have cleaned it up a bit and we had a pleasant relaxing drink before the school kids arrived. Just a few little touches - Maybe some sparkly warm white fairy lights would help with the ambience. How about it Starbucks? This is the only one of its type in the local area. Don’t lose out to the big C 😊

The staff are lovely, the menu as you’d expect but the place itself is dire - probably the most unappealing coffee bar I’ve been to. Very drab interior, no attempt to brighten the place up, very uncomfortable furniture and soulless. Unfortunately there’s not an alternative locally so it will probably stay that way.

This is Starbucks. If you’re expecting a Michelin star rated cafe, you’ll be disappointed. It is exactly what other Starbucks are. The staff make the place, they’re all friendly and helpful. Never an issue coming here and we’ve been coming for years, if something is wrong, tell them, they sort it out for you straight away without fuss.

Stopped off at Starbucks Middlewich on our way home for a takeaway coffee. I didn’t expect much so opted for a simple Americano with Soy Milk - bad choice. The boy (I won’t use the term Barista, as this he certainly was not) used the smallest splash of milk and topped up my drink with more water !?!? This Resulted in a coffee that looked like river water and tasted of nothing. The drink went straight in the bin and I wasted £3.00. Sad to say that the coffee out of the Costa Express machine at the Shell garage opposite was a massive improvement.

Haven’t been to this Starbucks for a while but called in today on way through Middlewich. Who has changed the furniture/seating? It’s like they don’t want you to get comfy and stay for any period of time 😱 bring back the soft comfortable chairs and sofas. I will need to find somewhere for coffee with comfy chairs when coming to Middlewich

I am a regular at many Starbucks, and it is a standing joke with my colleagues and friends that I have a Starbucks radar and find it in any city or place I visit! Middlewich Starbucks has parking and is quite large, clean and tidy with good service. Plenty of seating and excellent coffee on route into Middlewich. Great when you need a Latte.

A new and spacious outlet. Next to the Travelodge, the most convenient place to get breakfast. Quite expensive.

Ordered my normal caramel frap and it just didn’t taste right. Wasn’t sure if it was where I’m pregnant so got my friend to try it and she didn’t like it either. So I complained to the staff where they offered to make me a free drink of my choice and offered a refund. I accepted the large hot choc with cream but denied the refund as that’s how these places close down and the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic and attentive.

Am not sure what they are trying to cater for here. The place is a bit like a 1960 pub - open room no decotation and hard heavy wooden chairs of dreadful design - school workshop maybe and tables. In part there are more comfortble chairs but not many. A great place to film a pub brawl. Typical Starbucks coffee - weak and miserable. Everything typical Starbucks - yuk

Since this cafe opened we have visited frequently and it was dog friendly which was great for us. We went 2 or 3 times a week where we could relax with a lovely drink and our dog Bella could enjoy a puppacino and a drink of water. It was convenient. However policy from Head office means dogs are no longer allowed inside and in winter too cold to sit outside. Consequently they have lost our custom.

Stopped off for a quick coffee, the drink was excellent but the service was slow and waited ages for it to be made. It was not that busy and there was several tables that were dirty and untidy.

Large soul-less barn of a Starbucks right beside a petrol station & Subway. Coffee was tasteless and cost a stonking £3 for a flat-white , that tasted of nothing much.

Called in for coffee a few times, great service and coffee was ready quickly. Nice place to sit relax and have a drink, will definitely be back

This place is large with some great seating and good Wi Fi for e mailing whilst having a coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I go in regularly to Starbucks and the staff are always really attentive and polite but today I was spoken to so rudely I felt I needed to review them as she still hasn’t apologised! Having been served by a very young girl who obviously must be new and could be forgiven for giving me my food in a bag when I was staying in but then she went on to give me someone else’s food in a bag said she would bring a plate to which she then realised it wasn’t my food, gave it to the other lady waiting patiently whose food it actually was and she then refused to take it because it was all broken up in the bag. I was then given an empty plate to which I said there is no point a plate without food. By this point I was rather exasperated but still patiently waiting to which the girl serving the coffee turned round and abruptly said you will have to wait there is a queue and be patient. I accused her of being rude to which she went in a rant. At this point an apology was required and that would have been that. But she continued until I told her she was still being rude and she shut up. No manager has been out to apologise and I feel this is not what I expect Starbucks management would expect their customers to experience. I await a response. They are obviously pressurised today but that does not excuse bad manners.

Ok croissant and coffee. Wouldn’t usually go here for breakfast but situated right next door to Travel lodge.

We frequently call for lunch. Also for drinks. Lovely sugar free syrups and skinny lattes. Improved choices for lunch including salad bowls.

Handy to get too. Right near a subway and petrol station, really friendly staff and a good classic Starbucks.

Popped in for a coffee and cake after school with my daughter to try some of the autumn drinks, we weren't disappointed ! Good service, clean tables and great drink and cake.

I have been going here on a semi regular basis for years. The staff members are always friendly, drinks arrive quickly and they have a good memory for locals and regular drinks.The cafe is always clean and tidy and the food on offer is always good and varied. Will continue to frequent!

Cuando he visitado Starbucks Middlewich el personal ha sido siempre agradable e incluso ayudar a mi coche con mi bebida. Michael es muy profesional y siempre va ese esfuerzo extra para ayudar.

We tasted three different coffees. Annie had also arranged for us to try them with different Starbucks pastries/cakes. It was all interesting and yummy!

We come here daily as we have a new puppy and we found out well behaved dogs are welcome at Starbucks. This one in particular is fantastic!! Staff are lonely, coffee is fab and the atmosphere is perfect for families and business meetings.

Don't even know why I'm writing this, as I can't see people looking out reviews for a Starbucks. Apparently you can book tables or an area for meetings.And it serves SB coffee.(Would be soooo much better if they'd had made it a drive-through)

I visited this Starbucks on my way to a business meeting and was shocked by the disgraceful coffee that I received. It was the most appalling drink I have ever purchased it wasn't even hot! By the time I got back to my car it was stone cold.

Relatively small car park at this site, but other than that its a standard starbucks.Its a little out of the town, probably not walking distance, but when nearby and needing a coffee, its a decent place to go.Shame it doesn't have a drive thru really!

taken to experience by a friend before heading to Buxton to the theatre last week. she oloves the place I explained I had never been to starbucks before....I found the place to be over rated , dirty, unhelpful staff and very expensive!!!!! £4.95 for a toasted sandwich no salad , poor presentation and dumped on a plate!!! will not be visiting again!

I have passed this Bucks a few times and I like the look of the building from the outside, It's next to a petrol station and Hotel just outside Middlewich town centre. Nice parking looks well maintained. On entering the place is clean and tidy. It was quiet at the time of day I went. Greeted well by the member of staff, placed my order which appeared very quick. It came as ordered. It's your normal strandard Starbucks inside, but I think the location gave it that relax feeling.

In my opinion you can't beat a good starbucks and this is a great place to get one. Nice space and size. Clean. Fantastic coffee. Love it!

Really disappointed. Coffee lukewarm and not very strong flavour in lattes. Staff friendly but coffee a let down unfortunately.

First of all, I would ignore the negative review on here about staff "chatting with their mates". It's important to maintain existing customers as well as to please new ones. I'm a regular and the staff here always try their best to have a brief chat. The service is always top-notch and efficient. And it's FRIENDLY - human! Better than being served by robots.That's why I keep coming back.Paige, Lib, Ani, Natalie, Ellie, George. A great team!They're particularly good at making coffee here too. Starbucks are not all identical in that respect.

I love Starbucks! I love the coffee and I absolutely love the cheese and marmite panini! The service has always been great and it's also pretty local for me.

Starbucks is always there to make you coffee when ever you need it and this was no exception helped me out when I was most in need.

Visited here 4 times in the last month due to my daughters affection for the Christmas Latte options. Staff are always great in particularly an American (or possibly Canadian) lady who always makes conversation and finds out a little about your day. What a lovely person. Restaurant is clean and is still a relatively new modern build. Plenty of space and nice seating areas.

The young lady serving us was very helpful but Paige who was making the drinks was more concerned in speaking to her friend and the end of the counter. The one thing I always ask ia could you make the coffee hotter as it never seems warm enough. But when they are too busy chatting it's £4 plus, totally wasted. Sort it out Starbucks.

Nice coffee and the decor is great. Very nice atmosphere and the staff are very polite. Definitely Better than Costa I think!

This is my favourite Starbucks to visit. Usually there at least once a week. Staff are always great, and a lot quicker than most locations. The store is quiet and relaxing despite it being next to a main road.

Never been a huge starbucks fan but this stop broke the mould. Clean and tidy with good service. Handy little stop just 5 mins from the M6.

A sunny morning, so ate our breakfast buns outside after staying at the nearby travelodge, and before embarking on an 11 day canal boat holiday....a perfect start to our hols :)

Great friendly staff and VERY helpful. One of the staff members always carry my coffee to the car for me as I'm unable to. I didn't even have to ask them to, they were more than happy to assist and I couldn't be more grateful.

So pleased that Middlewich now has a venue that serves quality coffee and lunch time bites in a modern and friendly environment

Very convenient for the Travelodge across the car park. All the family ate breakfast and had hot drinks. My cheese and ham toastie was excellent.

Definitely one of the best Starbucks we've visited,drinks are always just how we both like like ,staff are always extremely helpful , polite and very knowledgeable.Nothing is never to much bother always happy to help.Never had to wait,staff male and female work great as a team and always very efficient.Keep up the good work folks you all deserve a pat on the back .

I have been a regular here but the service today was appalling. 2 Staff serving, George and Paige, trying there best. George was manning the till and serving hot food, something that always seems to extend the wait time, maybe a 3rd member of staff would help. That said the main problem was Paige who seemed more interested in talking to her mates who were sat on the bar stool by the drinks serving area. Call me old fashioned but your either there to work or talking to your mates. it's rude and disrespectful to your customers to spend more time chin wagging with your mates than actually serving people. I for one will be giving it a wide berth on future, there are other coffee outlets in the area where there is a much high level of customer service and 2 take away drinks don't take 15 minutes to purchase when there are no more than 5 or 6 people in front of you.
