Starbucks in Mid Sussex

Served by a lovely woman (didnt get her name) who asked what we had planned for our day. She gave some suggestions and was helped by Don. Great coffee.

Opened at 05.30am which was brilliant for then getting to the show ground to feed the horses. The staff were very cheerful and remembered me and my order every morning. The coffee was HOT which was excellent. Thank you very much Starbucks staff for making my visit to The Travel Lodge and Hickstead so pleasant and easy.

I travel early in morning to get ahead of traffic, so stop at here to do some work beforehand. The staff always welcoming and make the extra effort, especially compared to elsewhere.

Poor selection of products...bacon role waspoor with one small bit of bacon in. Bit grubby also inside and quite grubby outside where it could do with a sweep and a power wash. Coffee weak and not nice habit replaced.in all not a good experience. Toilets smelt funky need a deep cleaned...

Toilets are always shut even at 6! multiple hours before they close. I ordered 1 drink and it took 15 minutes. There was about 6 orders after me, all of them received their drinks before me. And when i got the drink i was disappointed with how it tasted (used tesco milk)

Staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful with good products available. Unfortunately, the place needs a very good clean. Dirty, grubby seats, accumulated dust and debris on the floor. It needs a damned good clean. Maybe the cleaning staff are off ill, I don't know, so maybe this is a harsh review, but that dirt isn't fresh.

We ordered 4 bacon rolls the bread had mould on the bottom it was green Very disappointed the queue was to long to take them back

So I’ve called in for coffee here 3 days in a row- still the hand sanitizer is empty since Thursday at least today the staff aren’t moody- Annabel in particular was very helpful.

We love this Starbucks. One of the ladies who works in there knows us by name. I think she is the manager, but not sure. She is so lovely, welcoming and friendly. All the staff are friendly. The place is always so clean with social distancing tables. Sometimes it can get very busy but you never have to wait long for your drinks. Cappuccino is lovely and the Strawberry and cream Frappuccino is the best especially in the hot weather. This is the best Starbucks we have been too and we always go to this one. Thank you to all the team for a great service and all your hard work during especially during covid. x

Love visiting this branch of Starbucks. Friendly staff and swift service. Even when they had a leak in the roof near Christmas they worked safely around it - all with a smile and Christmas cheer.

2nd visit to this Starbuck store and as with the last visit, the experience of staffs happy mood, had set me up for the day. The store was very clean. Lovely smiley faces of Sally and staff behind the mask. Great teamwork!

Such friendly staff, always well stocked up clean and well organized. I travel a further from my local starbucks to come here.

I love this Starbucks, everyone who works there is no nice, especially the lady who makes sure she gets everyone's name who the coffee is for and signs it with a x. The coffee is never burnt and always tastes good. It's my go to for prework in the morning, even at 5 in the morning they are more awake and cheerful than you could believe!

Nothing wrong with service or coffee just frustrating that open times are inconsistent. Google lists open times as open until 9pm all days of the week. Drove past and grabbed a coffee gone 7:30pm a week ago and open as stated. Popped by at 6:20pm today and closed - door locked and barista gestured that closed for the day - not even a little bit before stated time. Just aggravating as passed by another coffee stop because thought this one would be open. Be great if Starbucks could update site info with correct timings for future reference. Score indicates disgruntlement on this occasion.

Always incredibly friendly staff and they do doggy “puppilious” cups. An outstanding Starbucks branch

Very poor standards of hygiene.Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic and everyone is busy trying to be hygienic to minimise viral spread, I found the conditions here really dirty. No tables had been wiped, or cleared and there were crumbs everywhere including on the furniture. In the ladies room there were no paper towels and the hand dryer wasn’t working. On top of the sad state of the place, there were no gluten free options.

I would just like to thank the wonderful lady who served me my coffee today (22nd Jan 20). You were brilliant and your support and kindness was invaluable.

Good location to meet one of my colleagues to catch up. However service today was very slow and the cafe was not busy. Went to the toilet and there is dust on the toilet roll holder, the floor is dirty and the hand dryer did not work. Then looked around the place returning to my seat and it all looks a bit unloved.

Friendly staff , good coffee, fresh pastry case , lots of space to have a meeting , no limit on parking

Kind and friendly staff. 'Coffee Master' Lady (Think the name badge said sally?) Got me in to Flat White Coffees which I now love! Great for an on the go drink. The only thing in the area that rivals this is the Costa Machine in the Shell Garage which can never compete with a real Barista made drink.

I rarely see the need to review a Starbucks as they are, after all, a chain and you get what you expect. I have been to hundreds on 3 continents and only 2 have stood out as being abysmal. This was one of them. The line was very long, service was very slow, the tables had not been cleared, and the food display cabinet was being stocked at a very bad time. The attitude of the staff was very much “this is my job and I don’t care about anything else.” The coffee and the food were the usual Starbucks stuff… fortunately as I don’t think one can give a negative star value. Get new management!

Stop here every now and then for a coffee and something to eat. I’ve learned that it will take upwards of 10 mins to get a coffee, sometimes 20 mins of you want something warm to eat. This is if you’re lucky enough to stop by when there is no queue. If there is more then 2 others in the queue then forget it. I feel sorry for the staff as they’re all friendly and seem to be trying their best, there just doesn’t seem to be enough of them to provide a efficient service. Sadly this also means that the tables are often in a bit of a state too. Coffee is usual Starbucks standard when you get it so no complaints there.

The service was very, very slow and the tables had not been cleaned plus the floor was filthy. I would not recommend this coffee house to anyone. It is a shame as there is a Travelodge in the same car park and if a better place to have coffee, I am sure everyone would use it.

We often stop at this Starbucks as on way to family. We have turned up and the place has been shut in opening hours, once this was due to a power cut which is obviously not fault of the shop but twice it has been half an hour before closing and no signs as to why. Last time we waited for 25 mins for 2 lattes which we wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t for all the people behind us getting served first? A lady in the black shirt (possibly dressed differently as a manager?) even told us she was ‘coming as fast as she could’ and then after full filling three other orders did make us one drink but the other was 5 mins later? No apology just eye rolling. Staff certainly not customer focused or trained properly.

I like a trip to Starbucks but was grossly disappointed on my last visit. Nearly all tables were dirty with previous occupants consumptions and to make matters worse when there was no one requiring serving there was still no prepared to clean up. Sounds like the management and staff need a kick up the arse. The place is a disgrace. I hope it gets sorted quickly to prevent it getting shut down. Ps my wife says the staff are friendly.

We visited the Starbucks at Hickstead services today. The dishwasher was broken so even though we were drinking in we were served our drinks in takeaway cups and still charged 5p each. There was nowhere to recycle the cups either. Absolutely disgusting. I can only conclude that their supposed concern for the environment is a cynical ploy to generate more profits. I was reminded why their coffee shops are not worth visiting. As an aside they also got the order wrong.

I visit this Starbucks often when driving down the A23 and the service is terrible, they do not have enough staff to deal with any influx of customers and wait times can be in excess of 10 minutes at times. The coffee itself is fine, just the service lets it down and clearly is a management issue. Starbucks should be ashamed to call this a Starbucks!

Perfect place to stop for a coffee, I normally come in towards the end of the day and the staff are more than happy to help!

This is my local Starbucks with Starbucks being my favourite coffee brand I use this store often, and today decided it was time to write a review.

Very unclean tables, covered in empty plates and cups, food all over the floor. The staff got the order wrong and were rude. Stay away this is a horrible experience.

Stayed at the Travelodge next door and so was going to use Starbucks to get some food. Had checked when we arrived about what time they were open until and was told 8pm. Wandered across at about 7:40pm to grab a hot panini only to be told that they were open for another 20 minutes, but only for drinks and the oven had been turned off for the night. Why? From our room window we could see that staff were still there for another 30+ minutes cleaning up, so why couldn't the oven have been left on until closing and then cleaned right at the end (if that was what was done to it)? Or at the very least put it on a sign to say that food stops being served at a certain point before closing. Very disappointed.

I visit this branch about once a week on my way past. It's not like other coffee places in towns which can often become very crowded at peak times, and is relatively recently refurbished (formerly a Little Chef), so is spacious, air-conditioned and has power outlets at virtually every table (and of course, free wi-fi). Another reason I use this branch is because there are no restrictions on parking; other service areas have ANPR cameras and send you a large fine if you exceed a couple of hours in their car park.

We were late setting off for our conference, but managed to get a good takeaway coffee and croissant breakfast to set us up for the morning

Working in the area and staying in the Local Travelodge, Starbucks was a stone's throw away and is an improvement on hotel room coffee.
