Star East in Wakefield

Really good chineese restaurant. I usually have noodles and fried rice. I really enjoyed it. Really good service. They will adjust the spice according to our need.It has 4 star health ratings, so it's a good place for takeaway. Shop looks neat and tidy

Used to love this place, the salt and pepper chips are to die for, but when I got ill from the chicken one time and told them about it, they refunded me and banned me 💀

Shocking I've never seen salt and pepper chicken like it, basically might have well put a chicken birds eye fillet in the oven sliced it up and put a few green chillies on it, salt and pepper chips, £2.30 for average chips a pound extra for what looks like seasoning on then aswell with a few onions. Just very disappointed the ratings were 4.5/5 not worth the money. However the lady on the phone was very polite and the service was quick thats the only good things I could say

Fast delivery, friendly staff/driver and a great meal. When I say fast, it was at my home within 20 minutes of the phone call and piping hot, I'd barely gotten changed into my night clothes.

Just tried to order apparently a note on to say they won’t deliver to me as I sent food back not at all food is amazing never had any complaints…. What the hell is going on

Food here is delicious. Staff are very friendly, portions are very generous, they always accommodate to a dietary requirement with no fuss, and the prices are good too. Definitely best chinese around for me by far! Their salt and pepper chips and salt and pepper items are DELICIOUS!

Usually order online for delivery, takes a while to come, but well worth the wait & always hot.

Worst Chinese in Wakefield just had food cost £30 put the lot in the big curry sauce like jelly chicken was like chewing gum absolutely rubbish

Dry tasteless salt and.pepper chicken. There was no white breast meat inside chicken it was so dry. The chips were old.and stale. bouncy flavourless chicken curry. The meal was horrendous.

Ordered from here Wednesday as my usual Chinese was shut. Ordered the exact same meal. Tried charging me £12 more than my usual place so walked out.

The best Chinese in Wakefield. Always quick and on time. Staff is nice and very welcoming. Food is tasty and whenever we order something, it is always good. We ordered crab meat soup, cantonese spring rolls, and bamboo mushroom chicken with rice. Amazing!

The staff were not welcoming when I arrived to collect my food, almost like my presence was causing an issue. Food was not appealing to look at, made me quite nauseous before I had even taken a mouthful and turns out it wasn’t nice to eat. Won’t be ordering this dish again. Waste of time and money unfortunately. Springs rolls were nice though!

Best Chinese takeaway in Wakefield.

It's a Chinese takeaway. You don't come here for the atmosphere. But it's by far the best Chinese around. Always good food. Always good service

Really good food. Salt n pepper wings are superb 👌. Only knocked 1 star off as they sent me king prawn fried rice rarther then Special fried rice.

So I take £20 note to this takeaway , food cost me £8;40 and I was given £ £1.60 change back with their receptionist insisting I only paid £10 instead of £20. Then I requested they check their camera as I definitely gave a £20 note as thats what I had,, even showijg them the other £20 notes I had on me. I'm told they are too busy to do that straight away and suggested they'd do a Till'- check and refund my £10 if £10 up but I had to go away and they'd give me a call once they'd checked the Till. I was surprised they didn't offer to check camera in my presence. Minutes afrer they convinced me to leave , I get a call to say they'd reviewed their camera and done a Till check to confirm their side of the story (unsurprisingly). Customer service was extremely poor and food was shocking! Please avoid this place or you may lose your money !

Amazing food, tasty, large portions great value money!

Really lovely food and at great prices especially when I order my usual which is the Chow Mein whether it be the Special, King Prawn, Chicken or Beef and it is plentiful and really tasty and their customer service is absolutely brilliant, and they know my address off by heart. I absolutely can't fault them. I absolutely love their food and will always be a regular customer for all time. Thank you ever so much for your sterling service. Bloody great Chinese, one of the largest menu's I have ever seen, reasonably priced and very friendly staff. We ordered Kung Po Chicken Black Bean Chicken, salt and pepper chips, Chow Mein all big portions and damn tasty.

Did not receive my order, waited for an hour but apparently the one taking the order got confused and did not push through with it.. would have been nice if there was a call back when she got confused…just saying….

Portion sizes were great. Tasty, non-greasy food. 110% recommend the salt & pepper sharebox and the mixed starter box I think it was. I had to leave the OK sauce I bought as it wasn't to my taste/ didn't taste like it does for me usually however I'm from a neighbouring city and have never eaten from this store or of this cuisine in Wakefield before now so bare that in mind. The egg fried was the nicest I've ever had from anywhere, literally perfect! Curry sauce was very flavourful and not too hot, very more-ish! I'd put their Curry sauce in my top 5 favourites I've ever had. I ordered for collection as the waiting time for delivery was approx 1 hour however this was Sunday evening so I'd have expected this from anywhere that does well. Staff on the counter and presumably the same person who took my telephone order was pleasant, presentable and efficient. Food was ready within estimated timescale.Mostly packaged in reusable containers for anyone considering the environment. The store was easy to find via Google Maps and there was ample, safe parking. I'd say they're priced just as you'd expect for this cuisine, spent £29 for a mix of things which fed 2 adults and a toddler. As far as a takeaway treat goes, I'd say this one was a good pick.

Great food, consistent quality. Good service, prompt and not too pricey

The food here is fabulous. I have ordered and collected meals several times now, and each occasion has been perfect. The telephone manners are polite and efficient. The food is always hot and delicious. I ordered a large order (for six people) and it was still ready in less than 45 minutes. I look forward to my next collection.

Great place to get Chinese from the prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent my favourite is the pancake rolls 10 out of 10

Along with Lotus these 2 are the Very Best Chinese Take Aways in Wakefield.Sorry I cannot differenceat between them there just as good as each other & we do use them both.If I'm going to the nearby Tesco I go to Star East but otherwise Lotus is nearest to our home. Tx.

A superb little, cash-only Chinese takeaway - the best we've tried in Wakefield. Ordering over the phone is simple and straightforward - a total price and delivery/collection time is provided when you've finished placing your order. Freebies such as prawn crackers and spring rolls are included if you spend over a certain amount. Food is excellent and always piping hot if you collect it yourself. Hand sanitiser is available at the till.

Just finished my chicken and mushroom with egg fried rice. Couldn't wait to let everyone know, it was gorgeous. The best i've ever had, i'll definitely be a regular. Thank you very much xxx

We've had pretty much every Chinese in Wakefield and this is the best one hands down I'd drive an hour for this stuff it's unrivaled-some favs are the salt and pepper chicken and the honey chilli beef So good I've come onto Google reviews mid meal 👍🤣

5* I was a patient in pinderfields hospital this was my choice of Chinese when I first started to eat again and I couldn't fault it atall was perfect and I have an eating disorder so I was very pleased as I didn't want to waste money as normal I am upset with most chinese but thank you 5* from me

It's that good I have had 3 meals in a week. I had the Sweet and Sour King Prawn Cantonese style with Fried Rice, plus a portion of Pancake Rolls. Yummy! I have been a customer for over 26 years and never had a bad meal.

Great tasting Chinese in Wakefield. Usually go for duck and there is always a huge amount of meat unlike other Chinese takeaways. Love it.

Absolutely gorgeous had chicken balls with ok sause mushrooms with gravey and plain noodles with egg fried rice. Order may be twice a month never disappointed. 1st class. so glad it’s our local, bit more expensive than others but well worth it. Friendly and polite staff, can’t fault it.
