Just had tawa breakfast food was delicious and main thing it was fresh reasonable price friendly staff highly recommending the place if you visiting derby don’t miss out

If you're looking for authentic tasty food then you won't find any where else in Derby better. Saag paratha with a special omelette and chana washed down with Karak Chai 😋 I had to order another saag paratha, it was that good! Friendly and hospitable staff will definitely go again

Very bad service they ask me 10 minutes to ready order waiting nearly 45 still nothing very poor service.

I went there for breakfast and ordered Alo Paratha and Karak Chai. Paratha was very soft and nice freshly made, they served with mint souce and Achar. It was very good experience.

Wonderful Experience. I went there and ordered Lamb Paya Curry. Food was very tasty, quality very good, properly cooked with unique spices. Staff was very welcoming, attentive and decent. Atmosphere was very nice and clean. Highly Recommended.

This is a gem i have found on normanton road family. Me and my friend went got 2 teas i got a veg samosa and thwy have the best cheese cake homemade with the this green hazelnut sauce. Their parathas are homemade samosas homemade everything fresh. After ramadhan i cant wait to have their desi breakfast

Wonderful experience, all the food is Halal, the food was delicious, the place was clean, staff is attentive. Definitely will be returning in the future for more food! Loved the Halwa Puri and Karak Chai! My mum really enjoyed the cheese and tomatoes egg with toast and English tea, my 5 year old daughter enjoyed chicken nuggets with fries and beans!

This is one of my favourite place in derby .. feels like home . Very friendly staff , service is second to none. Food is very fresh and authentic. If you are a fan of Desi/Asian 🇵🇰 breakfast then this the place for you .

Splendid food options. Went in with my family for the first time and have now gone mutiple times ever since. The halwa puri is exactly like the one in pakistan in both taste and texture. Would highly recommend it to everyone in Derby/Nottingham or anywhere closeby.

This place is over priced, a portion of halwa puri for £9.99 its quite unreasonable, plus taste very average. Chin peas not even cooked seems like from tin and just added mandala on it...

I've ordered three time halwa puri via uber eats 2 times they charged me £16 for 1 portion and 3rd time they charged £2 extra for their service it £18 pounds for just 1 portion😏

It was dead cold in this place.It was so uncomfortable to sit over there and eat.Couldn't wait to get out of there.

We got the 4 person Tawa breakfast. There was plenty of food for 4 people, the parathas, channa, chicken curry, aloo tikki and tea were amazing! The food all came hot and delicious. The staff were all lovely. Very good value as well. I would definitely recommend.

Been going here quite sometime. Hair was in food and staff was very rude to us and blaming us instead of apologizing. No hygeine or food safety. Would not recconmend this takeaway.

The restaurant had exceptional food, ambiance, and presentation. However, the customer service fell short of expectations, as compared to Almehrab the best one there.

When they opened chaiwala they had really good tastes and nice food now they do tawa but no taste in chana and no taste in saag they used tin and not fresh food all tin food

My food was so cold and there mold on the table the chicken was raw there was bad customer service they can barely can't speak English

Called in for a desi breakfast. The price is about the same as the Chaiiwalla place just up the road. But the breakfast at the Star Chai hut was not as good as the ones you can get there. On the positive side. Everything is freshly made here. It just isn’t as good yet. It’s the second time I have called in here, but it hasn’t really got any better. It is a pity, because Chaiiwalla needs some competition.

This place is brilliant. Good service and the paranthas, chick peas and chicken curry were really nice. Great value for money too - a must visit.

Been here 3 times and got takeaway too. Food is amazing. Had the omelette breakfast, paye and channa. All were incredible especially the paye. The tea is really good too, not too sweet so you can add sugar to taste. Humble business and owners makes the experience even better and I felt I had to leave a review as I would love this place to flourish. Don’t see the need to go chaiwala again.

I had an order for 40 people for a party i had at home, the food was amazing, the flavours were great, everyone at party loved the food, would definitely recommend and use them again when I have a party but in mean time will be going to try out their indian breakfasts too. Javeed was very pleasant and dropped off the ordered. Portion size was generous too. We had chicken curry, mixed vegatable curry, chana chaat , spring rolls, lamb kebabs, samosas, Roti and rice pudding.

Forget Chai wala, try this place more authentic, desi food at its best.

Tried this location out with a friend of mine. I am a big believer in supporting local small independent businesses. Upon entering the location it was very nice and ciean. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter who was the owner. We ordered the traditional desi tea and sat down in the restaurant. The service was quick and the tea was very nice. The menu had a good selection of snacks and foods. It was a wonderful first experience. I would recommend this place.

Absolutely loved it!! Was going to chaiwala but thank god came here. They took quite long in serving but everything was made from scratch, the prahtha and chana were absolutely delicious as freshly made. The thing with chaiiwala is that they use ready-made food and warm it up which j don't like. It might not look as cosy as chai wala but believe me their food is just delicious. They Just need to work on their serving time other than that no complaints at all.

Very good customer service and food was nice too. Mutton karahi and naan were definitely worth a try!!

A group of us went for breakfast/brunch. Had a desi breakfast after a long time and I would definitely recommend this place. Good variety on menu including a variety of parathas and different types of tea. They have a family area in the back, clean, nice deco, good service, good value for money, we all left feeling very full and content.

Warm Gulab Jaman and Ice Cream from here was amazing (eat in). If you like that combo it won't disappoint. There is also a nice family section at the back for privacy.

They had the worst customer service… I went in there to have a chai with my friends and to spend time together and the girl on the counter asked us rudely to pay because she had to go home and when I went there to pay their card machine was not working and the girl was showing me attitude as it was my fault. Talking about their menu… there is nothing special… they give you snacks like aloo tikki or samosa with no decorations and they are not fresh… they use frozen samosa and tikki which are available from any supermarkets. A big disappointment… I will never go back again.

So, I’ve been wanting to come here for a while so I did today, atmosphere was nice, there’s was handful people, it’s clean and bright. Let’s get on to the food, I ordered 2 desi breakfast and 2 veg samosas. The samosas was a big fat NO! It was burnt and the filling was just horrid, I would never serve anyone samosas like that not even my own enemy. The desi breakfast was okay, they didn’t ask how spicy we want it etc but it was decent, the tea seemed off by looking at it, tasted horrid! Will never be coming back again

Delicious burgers and Quick, excellent service!

Came here with family, lovely relaxed atmosphere for all with comfortable seating and ambience. Ordered a range of food which was made fresh to order and tasted delicious. Service was excellent with staff going the extra mile to ensure every table was taken care of. We ended the night with full of flavour teas, hot chocolate, coffees and desserts. Lovely evening, look forward to coming again.

Saw this shop being advertised and as I was driving past I spotted a rare parking spot outside so decided to park up to try it as a takeout Ordering wasn't much of an issue, variety of food to chose from. We placed an order of chicken burger and some drinks. The order was small but took a good 20 minutes to be ready Once I took the order home, I opened the burger and was disappointed, it was literally just a bread and a chicken fillet No garnish, no salad, no sauce, wasn't even an option of when I put the order if I wanted cheese/sauce etc (had to use my own ketchup) The chai tea also smelt off and didn't have a good taste to it Granted this is a new establishment and I don't want to be harsh but first impressions count
