Love the quiz nights they are doing amazing staff to help us getting every done and food comes out nice

Called in today on the way back from Elvaston Castle with my 2 dogs.Dog treats were available to buy at the bar,fresh water barrel outside with CLEAN water bowls for the dogs. I was able to sit undercover or inside. I was served straight away with a refreshing Fanta.

Came here with my wife and two friends for drinks and a bite to eat. Booked a table for 1. When we got there the table they’d reserved for us hadn’t been cleaned. My arms were literally sticking to it because it hadn’t been wiped down. The clincher however was when the food actually came. They forgot part of my order, whatever it happens, but they clearly hadn’t cooked it properly. Within an hour of getting home I’ve been struck with horrific stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea. Classic signs of food poisoning. Find somewhere else to go.

The food is usually good. The Bar staff are friendly. The entertainment is good, especially the lady version of Basil Fawlty, who brings the food out at like 60mph! Could do with learning some customer service skills though 🙏

This was our first time at The Lodge and the food was really nice, i really enjoyed the cheesy bbq stack burger and it was a good size too (cheap coleslaw on the side though). The fries were nice and crispy. It was really busy though - I suggest going when it isn’t as busy and sitting out the way as we were sat at a table in front of the bar by the entrance, it was off putting people staring as they came in.

Minimal effort well done steak asked for rare toilets were disgusting blood all in urinal. It's local to me but won't be rushing back

Frequent hair a couple of times a month, food is always excellent staff are very friendly, was served by Rosita she is very professional and polite.

Bar staff was quite abrupt and almost rude, however food was nice, very cold in the building and the bathrooms although clean were freezing!

Used to go quite a lot but moved house so got to meet up with friends. Could not believe the change when I went in so clean and refreshed was very impressed . Had flatbread with steak was lovely

Place is clean, food is average. Pub is suitable for a wheelchair user, flat entrance and one level seating. Always lots of entertainment on, staff are friendly and helpful.

We are still sting here after 1hour waiting for food , when you have a 2year old too entertain it is no fun , very disappointed

Had a nice meal 4 weeks ago , so I asked friends to come with me for Christmas dinner I told them the food was lovely , but I’m afraid it was very disappointing, we paid deposit and chose from the menu, weeks before Boxing Day , assistant manager came to the table and said sorry the nut roast was sold out so we had turkey dinner , sad to say it was not nice , the stuffing and Yorkshire pudding were very hard , roast potatoes were hard and they were cheap frozen ones , turkey was dry, we told the assistant manager and he was very nice and said he Would buy us a drink to compensate, we accepted that , and left very disappointed

Won't be coming again! No more 2 for 1 breakfast. No brown sauce at all with breakfast, offered me barbecue sauce instead. 🤣Beer prices gone up, cold bacon served after waiting for half an hour in pretty much empty pub on Sunday. Bloke behind counter don't know anything about the menu and not bothered about it at all like it hasn't got anything to do with him. Didn't even know if they serve vegetarian breakfast. Very disappointing after coming to The Lodge for years! I'll spend my money elsewhere, thanks!

We went to the lodge for the dog Christmas dress up competition for McMillan fundraising, and it was amazing! All the dogs were dressed as santas and reindeers, so cute. They even had santa come and select the winners😁 honestly the best morning Ive ever had!!! Dogs dressed up in a pub what more could you want 🩷 10/10 loved it

Called in on a Tuesday 12/11/2024, ordered 2 meals, burger was ok but the Tandoori chicken meal was awful, all chicken was very dry, onion bargie was tasteless & the tikka source was con jellied left most of it & when the waitress asked if it was ok I said no can’t eat it, she just took the plate away without a word

Come to the lodge 3 or 4 times a week for the last 6 months now. The staff are all lovely particularly Cassie. Always serving with a smile on her face and is very polite. She often makes my day and is one of many reasons the lodge has improved my mental health drastically. The pub is a incredibly friendly place to be and would highly reccommend to anyone who hasnt already been

I was served by cassi today , and to be honest she bent over backwards to give me and my sister's the best experience , I was offered extra services and nothing was no trouble , we had main meals and a drink each , cassi directed us to the pudding menu at just the right time and we ended up having pudding as well , I found the atmosphere friendly and welcoming , and this was a credit to the staff , the foods was ok especially the burnt ends , the puddings where well presented and tasty ,services was very prompt , I have a lot of experience with people from running my own business and I can tell cassi will go a long way with her attitude

Just wanted to post because I've eaten here 3 times this month, had their rump steak each time and each time it has been cooked to perfection. Juicy, full of flavour and just absolutely delicious. Their chips are awesome and this is the only place my son clears his plate every time. My only issue is with the acoustics (I wear hearing aids and it echos something awful, so I have to take them out) but that's not anyone's fault really. Aside from that we love it here. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Atmosphere marked down due to the occasion and little service needed. But the spread put on was lovely .

Had lovely meal tonight steak and ale pie with chips and peas, couple of drinks amongst friends.

The food was OK, however roast potatoes were over cooked and dry. The main issue with this pub is the wait time on food. The pub wasn't very busy and we were waiting for nearly 45 minutes for 2 fry ups and a roast dinner. Staff didn't seem to care about this and by the looks of it, the average wait time for food was at least half an hour. The staff didn't seem to care and didn't apologise for the long wait. There are far better pubs in alvaston to eat at, don't waste your time going to the lodge.

Lovely bar with plenty of seating inside and out, staff very helpful and friendly and the food was great, good value and very tasty worth a visit for sure.

We moved to Derby two months ago and are very happy to have discovered Lodge. The food is quite good compared to the UK average. The staff are incredibly sweet and friendly. The owner tries to engage with everyone. We make sure to go every week. It's very enjoyable to sit in the outdoor area when the weather is nice. We love here. Thank you!

My food was a little over cooked. A meal with family. Portions was good and service was great.

Only my second drink there but the ipa was very satisfying, looking forests to trying a few more real ales there. Update June 2024; went in for food, the gammon on a hot stone with fried egg and small potatoes was really nice. A good price as well.

Worse meal I've every had steak i asked for med/well and it was burnt gammon was burnt pepper sauce was £2 extra I received a table spoon measure in a side jug if that won't be returning

A Green King Flaming Grill chain pub, a wide variety of food available and drinks all at competitive prices, the service was very good ,the staff are very attentive helpful and always available.

Lovely to be back at The Lodge now that it's warm enough to be outside on their lovely terrace. Really efficient and friendly staff. If only they changed their policy regarding allowing dogs inside we could be year round customers!

Brand new menu is a must try. Ribs are incredible! Quiz night on Tuesdays is great fun and worth a try too. Awesome loyalty app for regular discounts and freebies too! Well worth a visit

Advertised Sunday roasts. Read the reviews and thought it sounded a bargain. How wrong we were. Roast beef had obviously been precooked and heated up in a microwave. Mash was uneatable. Far too many roast potatoes. Yorkshire pud was soggy. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

We've been here a good bunch of times for food and it's always hit or miss if your food comes out sizzling on a skillet. The times it does we love it, the times it doesn't just ruins your meal. In general the food is good though.

Come in for the quiz, had a hunters gammon and it was well nice, thanks team!
