Without question one of the friendliest bars in the whole region. Dog friendly and welcoming to all. A real pub with a splendid atmosphere.

I'm unsure why it's so empty as the place is so nice with its Irish style and often live music. If you haven't yet been, give it a go, especially for the likes of football with multiple screens.

I recently moved to london from canada, this place is an absolute gem! i came in a solo female for a beer and the owners introduced me to all the local people, i now go there all the time:) would recommend the live music nights as well, some amazing dancers that come in. Everyone’s vibe is amazing and i always feel so beyond safe:)

Very bad place, very poor hospitality, never smiling people and not children friendly. Don’t go and spend any penny in this place!!

Great little pub in Barnes! I had the veggie burger, which I was thrilled to find was really substantial and was made with a homemade veggie patty filled with veg and chickpeas (a rate find these days!) The staff were really kind and the overall atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend!

Very cosy pub, traditional feel and good beer selection. I have updated this to reflect the new owners who have done a fantastic job bringing a fresh life to the pub that is great for locals. Food is very good, good beers, really friendly family who run it and excellent food/drinks deals like you can't get anywhere else. We are lucky to have this on our doorstep!

Had a absolutely wonderful Sunday dinner with my wife and son . A lovely welcome when we got there . And a lovely choice of food. It came out nice and hot the meat was nice and soft and the gravy was superb. Definitely going to be going back for another portion. Well done guys

Under new management this year and you can tell the new owners really care about the pub and the customers. A good selection of drinks for a small pub and good value, especially during one of the (currently daily) specials on the drinks and food, served by friendly owners. Decorated nicely for Christmas on our last visit. This is our most local 'local' and we haven't been going so much over the last few years - it had become a bit tired and nearly closed a couple of times - and although it hasn't got the fancy views or large beer gardens of some of the pubs down towards the river, it's definitely worth popping in if you're passing - or why not just make it your destination? We look forward to visiting more in the coming months and seeing what's in store.

The Stags Head was absolutely phenomenal in hosting our engagement party! The food, service and hospitality was top class. Pam, Phil and Trent went above and beyond to make our night magical, special and SO much fun!! The prices of drinks and food are so reasonable which is suitable for hosting private events or a casual night at the pub!

Newly done up and it's looks great. Nice to drop it for Sunday Premier League fixtures on TV. Few drinks and food bought by the whole group, we'll try to get down more regularly as one of the few affordable pubs which actually shows the matches in the area!

It was a mixed bag coming here on the off chance when in the area. Great to see a nice old school pub open and not a bad selection of beers on tap, including Pride and Cruzcampo (a Sevilla classic doing the rounds all over town these days). Prices were a bit steep to justify a second round given the surroundings though. Just mostly boomers who didn’t seem to like the cut of the jib of anyone unfamiliar. The service wasn’t the most friendly and just a bit standoffish. We may have been tempted by the food if menus were forthcoming or visible, but it didn’t really have the feel of a place that you’d eat. There was a band playing too which weren’t too bad. However, all in all it was all quite average. Not one to go out of your way for.

A great pub revitalised under new management. Friendly, well priced and offering all sports on tv (the only one in Barnes). So neat and tidy you can take the family. As a local I’m delighted. It’s well worth a visit.

A homely pub with an awesome atmosphere. Not a large pub in size which gives it a welcoming feeling and warms well with the fire on those cold wet evenings. SKY TV showing all the rugby and Premier League matches. Their kitchen is open Wednesday to Sunday serving a variety of pizzas, burgers and other dishes. There is also a children's menu available.

Since the new management took over this place has brought the community back together. Delicious pizzas! Perfect pints! Perfect service. You don’t feel like a customer you feel valued! Thank you Trent Phil and both of your wives for making this such a special place again.

Nice to see the local re open, just a shame they have scared off most of there locals with the over pricing, it might have a Barnes post code but the majority of the locals live in the borough of Wandsworth and won't pay them sort of prices.

A lovely local pub. But the atmosphere is dead, unfortunately there aren't alot of customers, some changes would change that for the better. Do give it a try it's one of my favourite pubs just needs some love from the owners. To make it a real local.

This is a wonderful little pub it's what I call a proper pub friendly relaxed music userly Saturday but check before doesn't serve food at the moment but I'm sure they may soon.Its just off the main road sadly no garden but small yard to sit out in

This is a very homey pub with an authentic vibe and jovial witty publicans. This is my closest local pub and I'd love to be a frequent customer. Unfortunately the wine I had here by the glass was undrinkable. I get it, most don't bother with wine at pubs, but for the ones that do... Please get better wines for the winos! Even if it's just a small modestly priced selection. We really would like to be loyal locals. This pub has lovely energy and people about.

I went in here last night after there was a crash on Upper Richmond Road, the road was closed so I was unable to get home and my phone battery was dead. The landlord was more than happy to charge my phone behind the bar and was so welcoming and polite. Even insisted that I stay inside the pub to wait for my taxi (when I had managed to get one!) so I wasn't out in the cold waiting. It's also a beautiful warm cosy pub - would absolutely recommend

Barman was extremely rude, screamed at me across the bar as I walked in asking what I wanted and then told me to leave and go somewhere else because I wanted beer and lunch and he "doesn't do lunch". Unbelievable.

A proper pub. Nice staff, good sound system (!) , interesting coffee table books (if they haven't been taken home!), a log fire, and the most lovely, albeit marginally uncomfortable, sofas...but that's part of the character.

Stumbled across this after an afternoon at Rosslyn Park, and was pleased to enjoy one of the friendliest welcomes I've ever had in London, coupled with the best Guinness this side of the Irish Sea!

Very disappointing on cancellation of our wedding party just a week ago as we were told that we did not paid deposit. The fact is at time of booking we were not told deposit is required.

Perfect local pub! Family-run, friendly, you are always welcome to sit at the bar and chat with the regulars/owners or make yourself comfortable on the sofas, tables or the lovely little outside space. Great beers, properly looked after Guinness, range of wines, pizzas available (and they even have Taytos for any Irish crisp fans out there). Everything a proper boozer should be... On top of this, hired the whole pub on a Friday night for a 40th birthday. Louise couldn't have been more helpful in terms of organisation and hospitality, all 70-odd guests commented on how great the place was and how welcome they were made to feel. Can't thank Louise and Ashley enough!

This is a family run pub, always a friendly welcome, simple menu (pizza to share). Also a good selection of beers and wines. Children, dogs and cyclist welcomed. Live music on a regular basis, comfortable, clean and colourful. Ask to try a baby Guinness! Just wanted to point out that Veg Nerd who gave a negative review was a review from when the pub was called halfway house, it was run down, but thankfully the new owners have changed its name to the stags head and have invested time and money into making it feel homely. The review is in-accurate and does not relate to the current business. The important thing is go and visit for yourself especially when there is free live music. I understand Google won't remove the review even though it was a review from a previous business and does not relate to the current owners and the stag. I love this place, but noticed that Google has replaced the inadequate review of the Veg Nerd. Listen l am a constant reviewier of Google, the review of Veg Nerd is inaccurate, that use to be a the half way house. They he/she does not represent the review of current owner. I am a local but well known, l would never put my name to support a local bar , if it was like the half way house. The stags head is a family run pub, don't listen to me go and check it out, see for yourself. Your voice and experience overidrs mine. Go and say hi, it's not about scoring points, we need people to bring commuty where it belongs. This place does this.. NED VEG Has not done a review for two years. Look them up. My parting Comment.. New Tenants -Ashley and Louise have brought this Pub back to life. With so many pubs closing in the area it is great to have it back. New decs and furniture fit in nicely but they have retained the bands for which the pub is famous for. NoTV so it is not a sport pub which is well catered for elsewhere .

I went to their acoustic Open Mic night last Thursday. Lovely pub with really genuine friendly people. The musicians that play there are pretty hot too! I will definitely be revisiting the pub again soon.
