Absolutely terrible experience. Half the ingredients were missing from my burger — I only got one piece of bacon, and the grilled chicken was completely burnt. Other people in our group had similar issues with their meals. We waited over an hour for our mains, and there wasn’t a single staff member around to speak to about the problems. When we finally did get some kind of compensation, it was a measly £2.50 off — a joke considering how bad the food and service were. Definitely would not recommend. All this come to the total of £98.00

50 minute wait for starters, 30 minute wait for mains after that, all the while the tables next to us had had their starters, mains and deserts after sitting down at the same time/after us. My partner asked for a lemonade refill twice and got sparkling water instead. Won't be going back, shame how bad it's gone in the last 12 months. Food wasn't worth the £60 we paid, this after the manager knocked £10 off due to the poor experience. The waitress, Tash, was lovely and really friendly and couldn't apologise enough and our daughter loved her. Need more people like that in there.

What was meant to be a double birthday celebration was ruined for two of our party was ruined. The atmosphere was cold despite it being one of the hottest days of the year. When two meals of fish and chips arrived they were Lukewarm. They had been left under the heat lamps for half hour or more. The plates were cold. One meal was returned. Granted when it was returned the chips were freshly cooked. The fish must have been put back under the heat lamps. It was over cooked and grey and just warm. Two members of party had finished their meals before mine was returned. Table had not been cleared or cleaned for well over half an hour. We waited and waited. A friend asked a waitress if desserts could be ordered. Again after a long, long wait no waitress arrived. The four of us left, no desserts and tea or coffee. I will never eat there again. It’s not the first time I have experienced awful food and service for what passes itself off as a restaurant.

I have been fortunate enough to visit the Stag & Rainbow (Beefeater) on many occasions, and each visit reminds me why this wonderful place deserves to be recognised as truly world-class. The entire team goes above and beyond in ways that words can hardly do justice. A special mention must go to Ste, who not only manages the restaurant with professionalism and warmth but also steps into the kitchen whenever needed, ensuring that no guest request is ever too small. His commitment to making guests happy is exceptional. From preparing cold beans on request for my daughter's partner to personally oven-baking extra crispy bacon for another family member, even while singlehandedly managing the kitchen. His dedication, patience, and care are a credit to the hospitality industry. I would also like to wholeheartedly praise Sharon and Teresa, whose speed, efficiency, and positivity are genuinely awe-inspiring, because they can work as fast and as smoothly as a Formula One pit stop team, yet always with a beaming smile and a kind word. Their attention to detail and personalised service never fails to leave a lasting impression. Whenever we celebrate family birthdays here, Sharon and Teresa take the experience to an entirely different level by spending their own money to decorate tables, gift cakes and presents, and even provide handwritten cards! This isn’t just outstanding customer service, it’s an act of true kindness, friendship, and genuine care. Disappointing!! Went for mother's day so was very busy and staff under pressure so could make some allowances. There was quite a long wait for food, when food arrived was cold and veg was undercooked carrots were like bullets. Never took starter plates away and took a long time for plates to be cleared. Everybody enjoyed their desserts however and this was also delivered promptly.

To be honest, it's just OK. Nothing to rave about. If your hungry and need to eat breakfast, go for it. It's your standard hotel, buffet style food. It was extremely busy when we went... so be prepared for constant lineups for food, screaming kids and people coughing near open food.

Won’t be returning anytime soon. I visited with my family, and while the ambiance was nice, the experience fell short. We were seated in the bar area since the restaurant required reservations—though it wasn’t entirely clear why. The tables were not adequately cleaned. It took an hour to receive our starters, followed by a long wait for the main course. The steak lacked flavor, was small in portion, and the presentation was underwhelming. Given the price we paid, the overall experience was disappointing.

Food is absolutely disgusting with microwaved eggs, watery beans and stale hash browns, as for the staff the man at the front has a terrible attitude I can't name him as he refuses to wear a name badge. Fresh eggs had hair on them as the chef does not wear a hair net as she should in regards to food safety. Her and the man had gossip sessions about customers calling them all sorts behind their back but ignoring the customers when they were asking to talk to them. Chef also had a go at a child who was asking for her vegan bacon. Following this the chef rubbed the vegan bacon on some eggs before putting it on a plate to be served. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. these people should not be working around people if they are going to be so antisocial and down right rude. I will not be returning and will be letting other know about this too.

Booked in advance for Christmas Day meal at 3 pm . On arrival they had no record of our booking. On production of our receipt they found our booking however, it was now for 3 .30. It looks like they changed our booking time without notification . Things became progressively worse after this. The noise in the place was terrible . Me and my partner were having to shout at each other. It was not helped by the unnecessary music being played. There was several screaming and ill behaved children. This was ignored by the parents,management and staff. As a paying customer I expect to be able to dine in relative peace and quiet. It was difficult to get served at the bar due to a lack of staff. Once seated for our meal we waited 30 minutes for our starter which was mediocre. After starters we had to wait an additional 40 mins for the main course. But as it turned out we were one of the lucky ones because several other tables had to wait 1 to 1.5 hours + for their mains. I saw the manager give tables free rounds of drinks to try to appease them. The food when it came was very average. The turkey was not roast turkey as I know it. It tasted processed to me. The cabbage was overcooked . Parsnips were too hard and portions were very small. There was a lot of disappointed customers complaining to the manager. I was charged £3.75 for a small glass of lemonade which I know costs pennies. When I queried the overcharging the bar person said it can be refilled. Problem was we only wanted one. There should be an option to buy a single glass at a reasonable price. Overall we were very disappointed that the incompetence of the manager and kitchen staff ruined our Christmas day meal. If I could give them no stars I would. I have only given 2 stars cos the waiting staff tried their best but were getting the brunt of the complaints. I shall be contacting Whitbread head office with a complaint about this bad experience. Not recommended. Food disgusting and drinks overpriced.This is the fault of the brewery. If you have booked in advance always take your receipt with you. If you get a parking fine because the service was so slow insist that the pub pays the fine. I noticed that many people were there for more than 3 hours . We were so I told the manager to re register my car. Waiting 40 mins for your table plus 40 minutes for starter ,1.5 hours for mains could easily cause customers to get a parking fine. In a nutshell this place is the pits Avoid at all costs. You have been warned. Don't believe the hype and the false claims on the menus . The food is vile. So is the company that runs it and the so calied management . Go elsewhere. Not impressed. Not recommended. Update 30 January 2025, Whitbread head office have refunded me in full for this shambles. It's the least they could have done. Shame on Ste the local manager of the Stan n rainbow who never had the decency to admit that it all went wrong on the day. He is lucky he does not work for me. Advice stands, avoid this dump at all costs.

We arrived at 17:45 and got our table straight away. Service was quick and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was good. The food was alright, it wasn’t exactly hot, but, it was fine. Decent price for everything we got, and our server Annie was very friendly. Overall, I’d suggest this place for something cheap and you get 3 hours free parking for registering your car in the restaurant. I would come again.

I have just returned home from the stag and rainbow on queens drive Liverpool, after having a lovely family meal. The staff were very welcoming and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. They welcomed us from the start and were attentive to us the whole time we were there. The meals were delicious and our thanks go to the chef as well as all the staff. We would return here, definitely as we couldn’t find a more relaxed atmosphere with fantastic staff looking after us. Thank you to you all.

8 years ago we had our Christmas Meal here it was fantastic so July 2023 I booked for our Christmas Meal again family of 5 adults i was to late for Christmas 2023 so booked for 2024 so well in advance I was more than happy with that it got to August 2024 I asked if I could add 1 more adults I was told no we are full okay I thought so Christmas Day came we was booked in at 3pm our table wasn't quite ready not a problem i though it was busy only wait a few minutes we was taken to our table and to my disappointment it was a table that clearly seats 6 and I was told back it August that I couldn't make my booking from a family of 5 adults to 6 because they were full (clearly not) we sat down cut a very long story short my partner went to the bar only 1 person on (very under staffed) our Christmas Meal came my partner didn't get what he ordered and when the Meal came and I say he didn't order that the Meal was just leave their and because it was left their for about 10 minutes while he was at the bar he was to annoyed to complain so just eat it, for the price we pay per head we do expect better quality and hot food not luke warm and it was clear that the place was under staffed although they try they best, very disappointed with the hold day.

Don't go for the 'Festive set menu' What a vile attempt of a turkey roast...it was like a microwave meal...turkey slices like out of packet...frozen roast potatoes like aunt bessies...veg was sliced carrots garden peas and sprouts all mixed together rock hard full of water and even cold when bit into the sprout...gravy was clear n watery...honestly worst excuse of a roast dinner I've ever seen... We sent it back!!! The staff were really attentive and resolved the issue and apologized and are a credit to you... Deffo revise your ingredients n idea of 'Festive'

Stopover in the Premier Inn next door, too early to book in so too the opportunity to have a late lunch, not too busy for a Fri afternoon. Great visit for anniversary reservation for 2. Place was busy due to Sunday rush but this didn't seem to impact service or quality. Clean tidy and very pleasant. Cost alot less than expected £50 for 2 meals plus desserts and drinks Special note Carol the server was amazing really helpful happy and attentive above and beyond in all levels of service. Personal phone call before reservation to inform card machine was down rather than have issues at the till. Will visit again with the kids Highly reccomend

Absolutely abysmal service. I work all over the country and stay in these places on a daily with a £25 allowance which includes drinks. My first night here they wouldn't serve me alcohol because I didn't order food and the same the next night even though I was ordering food anyway. The little bulky lady with short hair has a hod complex and clearly a power trip which is easily passed down to her easily influenced employees. MY ROOM IS ALREADY PAID FOR WITH THE ALLOWANCE!!!!!!

Regular beefeater visitor, lots of great offers, first time having a roast and it was lovely, partner had usual ribs! never diappoint, asked for extra bbq sauce and gravy, no problem! Service from Robin was fantastic, efficient, friendly, nothing too much trouble, the restaurant was busy and she was amazing, nice touch the girl serving drinks asked if there was enough lime in my drink, and topped it up. This restaurant exceeded all of my expectations, from the moment I walked in to the last bite of my meal! I have a nut allergy and can often feel anxious dining out, but the staff here really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. The chef in the kitchen, tall fella, I think his name is Sean (sorry if this is wrong) was an absolute gem. He personally came out to talk to me about the menu and how the dishes were prepared, ensuring everything was safe for me to enjoy. His attention to detail and willingness to answer all of my questions put my mind at ease, and I really appreciated how seriously he took my concerns. The waitresses were incredibly sweet, always checking in to make sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. The bar staff was equally friendly, with a great sense of humor that made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place where the entire team is so attentive and kind, and it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! Every dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell the chefs here take pride in what they do. It was hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch food, a clean environment, and exceptional service! xx

If I could give 0 stars, I would! I've been coming here for years, absolutely loved it, until today... this was meant to be a lovely birthday meal. Well it was far from it! Placed the order, no problems. And then it just went belly up! First off, the wrong drink arrived. OK that can happen, mistakes happen. But I must stress, it wasn't even that busy... so then the food arrived. This is where the fun begins... I asked for certain items to be removed. It arrived with all the items on that I asked to be removed! Ok, maybe it wa san error.... Asked for a well done steak, it was medium, sent it back. Only to watch it be sent back and see the chefs actually laugh and take the p*ss because I said it was not well done. It was pink in the middle and blood coming out of it when trying to cut it! It comes back, still not well done. This is no longer a mistake, this is just absolutely lack of concentration, disgusting attitudes from the chefs and now just becoming a joke! My partner asked for a medium steak, it turned up rare, that rare he struggled to cut it, with a STEAK KNIFE! The chips were absolutely rock hard, like they've been sat under the hot lamp for hours on end. Not seasoned, just plain hard spud! My partner flipped over his mushroom to find an entire egg shell cooked into his mushroom!!!! We had ordered another drink during all of this, those never even arrived. What was meant to be a lovely birthday meal turned out to be an absolute horror show. As two people who have worked in hospitality in the past, this was far from the standards that you would expect from such an established restaurant. Really disappointed, shocked and gutted as we will no longer be returning. I can't fault the server, she was amazing. She comped my partners meal, due to the egg shell alone. But honestly absolutely shocking turn of events. I'd avoid, it's gone down hill rather quickly in there now. Which is a shame, as I've been coming here since I was a child, and the food has always been amazing. Really disappointed, and really upset.

Coeliac Review - Breakfast (stayed at Premier Inn next door). Can't praise this place enough. Wish I had got the name of the lovely staff member (female, Mon am) who, from the very first moment we walked in, welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We were asked if any of us had any allergies (coeliac) and were immediately given the allergens guide. I was able to have toast!! My fellow coeliacs will know how much of a novelty this is. It's toasted separately too! I also had gluten free museli!?! A separate packet just for me!!! The lovely lady also asked if I wanted the kitchen to cook me a separate breakfast, so I didn't have to eat off the buffet bar. May seem like small things to some, but to a coeliac - this was amazing. I was in Liverpool for an MRI, the kindness this women showed me made me feel relaxed. Thank you xxx

Went on a family meal and it was good, ended up having the mixed grill and it was decent. The service was great and very friendly. Parking is tight up front but the shared car park with the premier inn helps, just remember to validate your parking.

I have been coming to the establishment for many years with no problems but on Friday 20th September 12:55 we entered the restaurant and a man onfront of house / Bar couldn't find our booking, he seemed as if he didn't know now to use the system. The restaurant was quite so he just sent us to a table, one of the lovely servers complained to him because he was only giveing her zone guests and that other servers are available. I had no problem with this but I felt this shown his incompetence now for a second time. After we order drinks my wife requested a gin and tonic this had every available piece of fruit imaginable, very large chunks of lemon lime orange strawberrys amongst others again from the same man we thought this was quite odd. As we are eating our meal what was fine we ordered more drinks but as he served my wife's gin he lifted the glass off the tray and the lost it's balance and the tonic fell from a hight on to the table covering the table and he announced I have just spilt that to himself then he replaced the tonic and made a poor attempt to dry the table left the table soggy with no apologies, my drink didn't arrive. I would of thought he would of removed the drink from the bill and atleast apologised.

Very disappointing visit for Sunday lunch. Waited 30 minutes for two meals which would have been ok but the quality of the meals was terrible. My ultimate roast was 3 potatoes that looked like they had been cut into already. The meat was mostly fat and was so bland that I could not tell the difference between the lamb and beef. The roast chicken wasn't available so was substituted for a chicken breast, again so bland and I was given two stems of broccoli without heads browning at the end. The server did discount the meal after I mentioned the disappointment but this is never what I look for, a genuine attempt to solve the issue would have been welcome. As the check back wasn't until the end of the meal, not much more coughs have been done. The unlimited soft drink refills is also a con if the server isn't touching your table to ask if you want such. Such a pity as the location is good and the restaurant has lots of space. Clearly a " out of the freezer, into oven" concept but at least season the food during the process and check the quality before serving.

Great location on Liverpool’s ring road - Queen’s Drive. There was a little wait on arrival. REGISTERED my car . The seater guy was grumpy and said we can staying there for only one hour 🤷🏻‍♂️ Never heard such a nonsense, but okay. The lady who took the orders was really nice, friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 full rack of pork ribs with chips, corn on the cob, bbq sauce and coleslaw. Pork ribs were really tasty! Chips was hot and tasty. Corn could be better if they just roll on the grill for a second and buttered. Otherwise it was only cooked - still tasty 😅 Coleslaw wasn’t perfect. Tiny portion, tasted like some veggies much together with a cheapest mayo. I might wrong! Altogether the food was brilliant (short waiting table service). The bank payments gone wrong their machine stopped working. They asked after tea how we want to pay… by card. Liam wasn’t kind or helpful. Stressful, no smile or anything, even though I told him this is not his fault and I’m happy to do any other solutions. At the end he recorded my bank details and that was all. About an hour later I got the receipt from my bank. Atmosphere only got 4 stars, because I had to put my hacked in the disabled toilet. NO COAT HOOK! Not all the disabilities has wheelchair. I have colorectal cancer. A hook costs about £2.. Overall I was satisfied with the restaurant and staff. Definitely visiting back soon!

Lucy the Manager was very helpful and kind. I have sensory issues and to start with was seated in a noise area but when she noticed that I was struggling she moved me to a quiter area. When ordering my food they were also very accommodating with the changes that I need to make with what I ordered. Nothing was an issue for them, I tried to tip Lucy but she wouldn't accept it. Very pleasant experience over all.

Ordered a steak sampler which had 3 4oz steaks on, asked for well done, 1 came spot on but the other 2 was absolutely raw in the middle to the point blood came out. Sent it back, they said they would replace the meal. I ended up getting back the same plate with same steaks on that was now charcoal black, the peas were no longer on the plate and the fries had been in microwave to reheat and was soggy. Manager in fairness refunded my money but the level of cooking and service oringinally was horrendous. Drinks are good and is a lovely clean pub, shame about the food.

I went with my partner. We were really hungry so would have been happy with most things but this was really poor. We ordered the "potato dippers" which were just an overpriced extra small portion of overcooked dry chips with a tiny amount of cheese and some tomato sauce in the middle. We both ordered the hunters chicken but my partner got the vegan version. For some reason on the vegan version they changed everything... Including chips? Unsure why. But the vegan chicken piece was about the size of half a boiled egg. The food also took so long when it was quiet that we wanted dessert but didn't order it because we didn't want to wait so long for it to arrive like the food did. The staff were decent but overall, if I was to compare it to something, you get better quality at a Wetherspoons, and youd also pay less at a Wetherspoons too.

Really enjoyed our meal last week. Me and my partner both got the 3 steak and sides dish. Steak were perfect and tasty. Also my 18 month old had the kids 3 courses, which was great value. A bonus to this is his starter came out first (garlic bread) which he wolfed down, so he didn't get too grumpy waiting for our mains. It was quite busy, a sunny Sunday evening, and the staff were rushed off their feet but our server was brilliant and couldnt have done more thank you Robyn.

I don't see the point in coffee places when pubs exist. Go to a pub and have a pint. My girlfriend loves this place however. Great coffee she says, and good cakes.

La junta afirma que tienen patatas asadas, sin embargo, si se solicita, ya no las hacen. I MISS ROCKERFELLAS! Sadly this diner has now closed which me and my partner are devastated about. It was really amazing here with a 50s 60s 70s theme throughout. It played songs from them days too. I have never really been a fan of them particular eras but I always enjoyed visiting here. The people were friendly, the food was delicious (especially the onion rings) and sitting in there was uplifting. We never really got a reason for its closure so if anyone could let me know I'd be a lot more satisfied until then I will be forever sad at knowing it doesn't exist anymore. :(
