Staceys Eatery & Cake Company in Newport

The staff and owner are very lovely people. The cafe is immaculate with tablecloths on every table plus flowers. All home made cakes, pies etc.

I called into Stacey’s Eatery with a friend after we had finished our morning shopping for a drink and a snack. I ordered our drinks then I ordered the snacks which I paid for. Both when they came were enjoyable As we were leaving the person who a assume was the manager called “excuse me you haven’t paid “ I replied “yes I have” she then replied “no you haven’t. As luck would have it I had paid on my debit card so I went into my telephone banking to prove I had paid ( I also had the receipt in my purse) She did apologise as the paperwork for my order had not been marked paid. That’s not the point! I was extremely embarrassed and will never go there again

Went for coffee and cakes they were scrumptious. lvly surroundings also toys for toddlers to keep them occupied and great staff would highly recommend

Have been customers for over 17 years and you are always sure of a great welcome from the ladies here. The home-made and fresh-cooked food is highly recommended. The bread pudding is famous

Went there today Home made cakes Home made pasties and quiche Real chips yes really Food fab and I’m fussy Purchased 1 x c beef pie with chips peas and gravy and 1 x chilli half and half This was all freshly prepared It felt like you were at home with the chatter between staff and customers

Popped in to George Street Furnishers at the beginning of December. Decided to try Stacey's Eatery on the 2nd floor. I ordered a full English breakfast for both my wife and I. A pot of tea included in the price and the breakfast itself was lovely. The staff were friendly, hard working, polite and competent. Next time that I go to buy furniture I will go to George Street and then visit Stacey's Eatery again - great value and excellent quality.

what a great little find. I visited George Street furnishers today in Newport (cafe is situated on the top floor). We had full breakfast (2 of everything) including toast and "proper" tea or coffee. At £5.25 you CANNOT go wrong. Beautifully cooked, lovely ingredients and the 2 ladies who cook and serve the food are wonderful. Highly recommend. Thank you ladies

Popped in here for light lunch Although store was empty the cafe was well used. Staff friendly. Food cooked to order. Lovely with good portions. An ideal hideaway for coffee and cake or something more substantial.

Served by a very rude, offish middle aged woman, if this was "Stacey" she needs a lesson in good customer service. Tired looking place and I had to bite my tongue the way she spoke to us, her food was mediocre and the coffee was tasteless, she got the order wrong anyway and her attitude stunk!! RUBBISH! WOULDN'T RECOMMEND!!!

Popped in for a snack at 2pm. Baguette was prepared quickly and served. No atmosphere and staff not particularly friendly maybe due to them closing at 330.

Whilst visiting George St Furnishers, called into this cafe in the main premises. Sat down, decided what we wanted from the table menus but, despite there being table service, we were ignored for about 10 minutes. I then went to the counter and was ignored once more for a few minutes. At this point, my wife and I started to leave, but as we did, we were asked if we would like to place an order. We politely declined. If it took that long and that much effort to place an order, we were not inclined to find out how long we would have to wait for the food itself. Other customers seemed happy and we had the impression that they were regulars. Can't comment on the food as we didn't get that far, though the menu seemed pretty basic.
