Delightful Sunday Lunch. Great setting, lovely food and good service…

Service great, food ok. Went for afternoon tea

Visited for an evening meal, the service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the duck leg starter, rump steak and chicken supreme for mains and a brownie for dessert. Everything we ate was delicious and full of flavour ! The only issue I found was that the peppercorn sauce for the steak was really salty. Other than that it was one of the best meals we’ve had for a while! We will definitely be returning.

A group of 6 friends stayed at the Manor House Hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay and a meal in the Stables Bar & Grill, this is an upmarket venue. The atmosphere is second to none, the food is delicious and well presented. If the opportunity arises for further visits we will grab them with both hands.

I go to the Manor House regularly and I am a VERY fussy eater!!! They cater to all my allergies and my very high standards!! Always with a smile and never had there been a problem!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ❤!!!!

Went for birthday celebration with family for Sunday Lunch..bit of a disaster if we’re honest..staff were friendly, but service poor..cod starter over cooked..Sunday sharing platter pretty poor..everything stone cold apart from cauliflower cheese cooked to oblivion..desserts were ok apart from again cold sticky toffee pudding, cold custard with chocolate brownie..lovely latte coffee though..very overpriced and very underwhelming.

Quality ingredients resulted in good food. Pasta quantity was however on the small side as as main course

Food chosen- beef shin, chicken curry, haddock and chips. My husband enjoyed his beef shin, tender and flavoursome, the chicken curry was mundane. Then we come to the haddock and chips...you know when you go to a restaurant and you see a delicious, crispy battered fish delivered to somebodies table? Well it wasn't one of those. The battery wasn't cooked through, slimy next to the fish, inedible. The chips were white and hard. If they had ever bothered to ask "if everything is ok" then I would have sent it back. Service was non existent. Didn't even question why it was left on my plate.

Experience here has been hit and miss. Food is delicious and service is normally great. I have a dairy allergy and they don't seem to have a printed allergen menu so kitchen has to get involved. One day I placed an order and kitchen okayed it and food came within minutes, another day it took 30 mins to get told what could be dairy free and the dish I had the day before wasn't on that list. One of the days I was here on my own, I was put towards the reception area, a second solo also put out there like normal and the third was put there then moved so he could be closer to the fire as he was on his own 😐 Luck of the draw unfortunately.

Good for a coffee, meetup, light lunch, little pricey for what it is, but good quality and comfortable enough, no complaints

First visit, wow, nice decor, warm, friendly, professional, just one thing to improve, I only weight 73kg but found chairs tended to squeeze a little. Food and service are the best I have had in a long time. The management and staff should be proud of themselves. Will return. Keep it up.

Really tasty food, very enjoyable however poor service to go with it. Took ages to arrive once the order was finally made and after dinner the unbelievable the number of times I asked for the bill and more for the card machine. If the service improves (it must really) it will be a pleasure to visit.

We have been using the hotel to meet overnight with friends for 10 years or so. The restaurant as had its ups and downs. The hotel has been trying to upgrade itself since just before the pandemic. As such prices have increased and choices changed. No problem with that,however the quality and value is not as good. Food portions have deminished and food is served at irregular intervals sometimes cold.

First visit today. The restaurant is located inside the Manor house hotel and is spacious. The food was excellent. We had the burger and fish and chips and you may say you could get that anywhere but it was a nice change of setting and the price was compareable to anywhere else. Well cooked and filling. Good menu and well stocked bar. Ample on site parking.

Starter pil pil prawn was very good . large portion, large prawns, partially shelled to save hassle, lovely chilli oil. Described as coming with bread to dip into oil - only two small pieces but happy to bring me more and didn’t charge extra. Unfortunately massive let down by main course. Ok I only ordered burger and chips but sometimes you fancy something simple and sounded really good from menu…and for £16.50 I expected it to be. Firstly it was literally a burger in a bun and chips - not even a token side salad. There was supposed to be cheddar cheese in the burger - if there was any I couldn’t detect it. Most importantly, the burger was massively overdone and completely dry. Massive disappointment, would not return. Shame as the prawns were good.

Food was good but the service was very slow despite there not being many people in the restaurant. Took so long between receiving the dessert menu and actually being asked if I wanted anything that I had stopped feeling the slightest bit tempted snd just asked fir the bill.

Came for fathers day lunch and got a free pint! Not been before but the food was amazing! Only thing I would say is the service isn’t the quickest when collecting plates/next course etc But we were in no rush so it was all good Can’t wait to come back!

Lovely food, breakfast and dinner could not fault, the selection of drinks are very good compared others, the staff were friendly and attentive, and lovely period decor throughout restaurant, highly recommend

Absolutely perfect experience. I was with a party of 23, we had our own function room and the staff were brilliant, well organised and always made sure we were happy. Bar staff were also amazing. The food was spot on, I had beef croquettes, steak and ale pie and a brownie with ice cream, the pie was absolutely to die for, well filled and the steak just melted in your mouth. Really highly recommend and looking forward to coming back for date night!

Second time we have visited. Welcoming atmosphere, very friendly and warm staff. Sea bream was cooked perfectly. Very reasonably priced for the standard of cooking. Due to the length of time it took to cook the sea bream, complimentary rustic breads were offered. This was a nice touch. Risotto was lovely, however unfortunately a piece of broken crockery was round in the meal. Staff were quick to rectify by offering complimentary deserts. We didn’t have deserts in the end but were given 30% off the bill instead. Far beyond our expectation. We definitely won’t hesitate in returning; there is much more on the menu we would like to sample.

Lovely restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Pleasing decor and tables are well spaced observing Covid protocols but still ensuring a 'warm welcoming' ambiance. Varied dinner menu catering for all tastes - meat-eaters, pescatarian and vegetarian. The sea bass was delicious but my husband really enjoyed the perfectly cooked braised beef. The presentation was excellent. There are Daily wine offers to accompany an evening meal - we enjoyed a lovely Australian Riesling very reasonably priced at £18. A most enjoyable meal!

Lovely surroundings and good food

Very nice place to eat, the food was lovely. The evening service was very efficient, but the breakfast service was very very slow, we were seated upstairs. I find it very odd that the food comes out of the kitchen upstairs but the drinks come from downstairs. Why a coffee machine can't be upstairs to make it easier and faster service is beyond me. I ordered porridge with honey at 9.30am, I had to ask where it was at 10am. When it came it was like wallpaper paste, I had a couple of mouthfuls and left it, it was horrible. The rest of the breakfast was very tasty. The service needs to be looked at and made more efficient.

Nice surroundings and good service. Slight hiccup with food but they more than made up it.. you can't fault them when they put it right and go the extra as a result

Good food just a little better than a pub meal

Now meeting up with school friends, I had prawn and crab linguine, absolutely delicious, served beautifully, service was good, the brownies after was very good hopefully will be going again at the end of October, would recommend

Had a lovely couple of hours sitting outside supping Cider while a wedding party were celebrating inside, there were couples having a meal and a quiet drink. This is what the Manor Hotel can cope with and caters for, and does very well.

Excellent restaurant highly Recommended

We have just left Stables Bar and Grill after having lunch as a party of 3 adults and 2 children. Before ordering I asked if there was a children's roast available for our 8 year old. We were told there was a smaller portion available for children but what was brought, and charged £11 for, was the smaller adult portion. Our daughter was only able to eat half of the meal. I had the same meal and couldn't finish it either. We were also shocked at the charge of £6.30 for two glasses of lemonade, which were not listed on the menu for us to have seen how exorbitantly priced they were. The food that we had was tasty, and the service quick, but the Stables does not cater for children and is not good value.

We live in Stoke n fancied trying somewhere different. We were so impressed with the whole experience. Service was excellent, covid rules in place and followed but relaxed. The meal was outstanding, probably the best we've had in a long time and gf option was catered for with no drama which was also very pleasing. We will be going again, it's definately worth the extra 10minute traveling time and I definately recommend a trip here.

Pricy, but nice food and staff.

Nice restaurant in a lovely setting, menu fairly priced for the food on offer. Food tasted great and was well presented. Service was slow on the main course, however staff did proactively apologise for this. When entering the restraunt you are drawn upstairs to wait for a table, however as we were sat downstairs it seemed poorly positioned. Menus had sticky resedue on, somthing I feel can easily be avoided and takes the edge off nice restaurant.

We had a table reserved her tonight and were looking forward to a wonderful celebration, ten adults and one 8 month old. Every expectation of this venue was exceeded and I can not compliment them enough. The food was absolutely perfect, the boardroom looked fantastic and the staff were amazing, nothing was to much trouble and their timing was impeccable. I would thoroughly recommend dining here and for special occasions they clearly go the extra mile.

Been coming here for years, and to the Manor House restaurant before then. Food is fantastic and staff are wonderful and friendly.

I had my first meal here in January. It was absolutely fantastic. I had the ham hock. It was that good I have booked in to the hotel for 7th November till the 9th November this year. I live in France. The staff were very attentive and my thanks go out to the chef and all his staff

Great service food is not good and very expensive

Have dined here often over the last 3 years food and service is consistently good. Definately recommend.
