Not very charming, plastic menus, one smells like burn after leaving the restaurant, food was ok, but not more than that

In my top 10 worst meals ever. Ok it sort of has a certain mountain charm when you go through the door but that is where the illusion ends. This place has the most disgusting toilet, genuinely third world level stuff. The food is hideously expensive and just really bad? We shared a cheese fondue. The cheese was ok, but it was served up with what seemed like yesterday's bread - stale. The handful of new potatoes it also came with didn't make up for the disappointment. I wouldn't mind so much but the food plus a bottle of bang a average wine set us back the best part of £100. Do yourself a favour and avoid.

Amazing Fondue! As a French person who visits the French alps every year (Megeve) I’ve had my fair share of fondues! And let me tell you this place felt like I was back home. The minute you walk in there is the cozy smell of wonderful cheeses, and you’re ready to dip into the fondue. I ordered the moite-moite one which I 100% recommend it comes with unlimited bread and potatoes to dip with. Fondue arrived fast, service was great.

Having grown up in Switzerland I crave food from home and I can happily say this place hits the spot. A Swiss restaurant is a very rare find so I was keen to try it out. A lot of reviews state that the restaurant smells and yes that's absolutely true - it smells like cheese, just like every Swiss restaurant. I walked in and the smell took me right back to my childhood. Don't come here if you are a fan of mozzarella and mild cheese. Swiss cheese smells very different to the way it tastes so don't judge! The fondue moitié moitié is from the region I grew up in and tasted just like home, a decent traditional fondue. We also had the spaetzle with the creamy cheese sauce and although very runny it was delicious and some bread dipped into the left over sauce at the end meant clean plates all around. The waitresses were lovely and were well dressed. Prices aren't cheap but where else will you get a properly made fondue? Nowhere. Prices were the same as a fondue if you visit Switzerland. Great selection of Swiss wines on the menu too - one of Switzerlands best kept secrets is wine from Suisse-Romande. Keen to try more things from the menu during future visits. Merci et à bientôt!

The good first. The staff was nice and the hash browns were really good. However, we can't say more good things. The Käsepätzle don't deserve their name. It was a cream soup with some cheese and noodles. Unfortunately, the onion soup was so salty that it was inedible. Unfortunately, ready-made broth was clearly used. The chef was definitely not Swiss and had never vacationed there.

There are not many places for authentic cheese fondue in London so St Moritz is the place to go and it dates back to 1974!! You might even see the owner there if you are lucky. I can confirm it was even better than the one I had in Switzerland. The cheese is cheesy but not heavy and the texture is like a thick puree/sauce that isn't stringy. Tried the Fondue Forestiere and Escargots à la Mode du Patron. The escargot sauce was really strong and herby and there is so much sauce that you can dip your bread into.

Well, 1st of all, I called to make a booking around 12 for 3pm, it was confirmed, 14h45, I call again to postpone the booking to 16h, the waitress on the phone there (indian) tells me that the chef is having his break and we are fully booked for today which didn't make any sense and extremely unprofessional. 50 mins later my wife calls and she mysteriously manage to find a booking at 17h. We get there, and guess what, we were literally alone, a couple came after, that's it !!. For the raclette, we have the first choice which came just with bread, no sense ! Guys I had many raclettes in my life, it waa from really far the most DISGUSTING one of my life !!! We asked for extra mushrooms and potatoes, guess what !!, the mushrooms were disgusting, no idea how they did to make them untasty. And we paid 17£ for them !! And 7£ for the potatoes. Going to a restaurant, reading the menu, deciding what I'm going to eat and then being told that what I read, they don't have it, is disappointing or at least insulting. Let me know beforehand, sir!! The fondeu lacked that lively tone of gruyere and ementhal, I doubt that any of them were real, I think that the gastronomic concepts that these people have are far from the common ones of those of us who seek excellence in food, especially having paid 180 pounds for two people

Had visited many years ago. Interior decor hasn't changed a bit and although evocative some would say it's just tired and dated.. get the ambiance correct and people will immediately be invited to write good reviews, however we found the whole experience an expensive let down. I was on time for the booking, there were only 4 others upstairs and a couple Downstairs. I ordered a bottle of wine whilst waiting for my guests who were 10 minutes late. The waitress wasn't particularly welcoming and I heard a voice form the kitchen shout " Are the 3pm tqble her yet !?" The food was pleasant but definitely overpriced. 3 people, 3 onion soup, Fondue for 3 with dry bread and overcooked potatoes,no meat and an extra side of overcooked boiled veg. We had q £30 bottle of white wine and a kir rose as an aperro. Total £220. I feel this was about £60 overpriced. I know its central london, but for the food a nd service offered it didn't meet expectations. Safe to say we won't go back for another 25 years.

Waitresses were awful tonight. Arrogant, snappy and patronising as if talking to a child. I had booked at least 1 week ago, and 2 days before the visit I got a call asking to postpone the booking for 15 min which I accepted. When we turned up they kept us waiting for at least 10 -15 more minutes saying customers were still at the table although they paid. I objected and asked them to tell the next booking is waiting and it’s already late. We didn’t see anyone leaving as we were standing at the narrow gate. After 10-15 min we were called the table was ready. When we asked for the check we were kept waiting half an hour. The other 2 tables asked for the bill around the same time and they had the check and payment machine but we deliberately were kept minimum 15 min for the check and even more to get the payment processor. When asked for payment processor she snappily replied she needed to finish tidying the table behind us and then afterwards off she disappeared. In the end I got up to pay. Message received: ‘if you criticise me for not having your table ready at the booked time I will keep you waiting at my leisure’. She was horrible. Food was ok but overpriced. When we ordered dessert they didn’t have contents or description of the desserts on the menu, just names. My daughter (15) ordered chocolate cake. She tasted and said nice but very strong flavour. I tasted a small bit and realised alcohol inside it. I called the waitress and asked her, when confirmed there was no alcohol in it, I insisted and she went and checked, came back to confirm it has rum inside. When I said she’s 15, waitress removed the cake from in front of her. This is a perfect example how not to serve customers at a nice restaurant. Very unprofessional and immature. If you don’t enjoy it, don’t do that job. You both just spoilt our evening, congratulations!

What's not to love about cheese?! I really enjoyed my evening, trying fondue for the first time. The cheese fondue was incredibly delicious! I wish we ordered one of the options with more variety in the things to dip though. We got the classic one (just bread) which gets monotonous after a bit. We tried the chocolate fondue as well, and it was *perfect*. Large variety of fruit and other things to dip and the chocolate was good quality. In terms of atmosphere, I found it a bit too hot inside. But most importantly, the tables are a bit close, and we could hear the whole conversation of the people next to us. Needless to say it was very distracting and we couldn't really enjoy talking to each other. Overall, a great place, and I would absolutely go again, but I wish the tables were more spaced.

Phew...was spontaneously at Moritz in August. If that's supposed to represent Switzerland, then I can only be ashamed. Cheese fondue indescribable, the cheapest ready-made fondue from Denner is even better. Rösti was floating in oil and was like canned Hero Rösti, also fried black. However, the shop is well attended and seems to delight certain gourmets. For me as a Swiss, not recommended.

Pretty poor food and poor service. Waiting staff had to be requested to top up drinks throughout the meal, forgot orders and were unsure of the menu. One was on her phone whilst we waited to order drinks. As for the food, the fondue which people come here for, looked okay, but having had the chicken with tarragon, it tasted like they had dropped the whole salt shaker in the sauce. Visited here for a work meal with a group of 18 people. We were sat upstairs and the decor was nice and took you into a chalet scene. We had pre ordered though the food still took quite a while to arrive. Our fondues were fairly good but we had also ordered sides of Rosti for nine which were all in one bowl on one table so not shared very well as well as being a little burnt. The service was good and attentive and our wine and water was constantly kept topped up. The price is quite high though I guess you might expect that for the location. As a vegetarian there are a few options but fairly limited if you were a regular.

I am being generous giving this place 3 stars. We ate here last night. An old-school gem in Soho, we assumed it must be good to have survived all the changes and were excited about it. It is certainly atmospheric and for that it gets marks. We were seated upstairs and were transported from London to an Alpine chalet. Beyond that it's lost its mojo, it seems. The facilities need a revamp. I had the terrine, their "famous pâté" for my starter, which was perhaps the blandest, fattiest pâté I've ever eaten - it was a struggle to eat more than half of it. My partner had the smoked fish which was passable. The fondue we shared we fine, but nothing to write home about - and for the price (this place is not cheap) we felt they could have been a bit more generous/flexible with the things you get to dip in the cheese (eg some bread and some vegetables, would have been nice). The staff seemed quite disengaged and, for a themed restaurant such as this, not really giving off the Alpine chalet vibe. They didn't particularly seem to understand the menu or the wines and it was often hard to get their attention. I'm pleased we tried it, but I wouldn't go back and I'm unsure why this place survives.

Not quite sure why this tiny place is still there. Slightly unusual arrangement of only accepting telephone bookings, with a bit of a chaotic situation arising as we were leaving. Claims of traditional Swiss fondue are overstated. Convinced that the mix of cheeses used had very little to do with emental or gruyère. The taste wasn't right - too salty, the texture was also wrong, slightly grainy, not silky smooth. Almost certainly was a fair quantity of cheddar substituted in to bulk out the mix. Staff were friendly enough, but struggled to remember which wine we had ordered. Not terribly impressed, and unlikely to return in a hurry.

And once I have informed them they made sure it was not frozen by overcooking the food so it was disgustingly chewy. Cheese quantity and taste is to laugh for, especially at the given cost. DO not recommend this Place. DON’T waste your £ here.

Cordon bleu came with cheese that was cold. We told the server and it was returned back to us with the hardest chewiest veal ever. Really awful greasy overpriced food. Raclette was literally three smalll baby potatoes with the most tasteless raclette. Huge disappointment considering we paid a lot for this meal.

This was my favorite place in London every time I visited for years and I was so excited to go back, but I we went for my birthday lunch and it was just horrible. They were not prepared for our reservation and one of the two female servers was incredibly rude. Not interest in going back again.

A Truly Disastrous Dining Experience – Avoid at All Costs! I have traveled extensively across the world, dining in numerous countries and I can confidently say that my experience today at Hush Restaurant in Holborn was the worst I’ve ever had. We arrived with two separate groups, my group of six and my staff in a group of three, each with separate reservations. To our shock, we were told that one of our tables could not be accommodated because they had given it away to two walk-in parties. Despite our reservations, they prioritised walk-ins over us, leaving my staff stranded with no table. Once seated, the nightmare continued. The food took an unreasonably long time to arrive, with no communication from the staff to explain the delays. When we inquired, we were simply told, “let me check,” and we were left in the dark for the rest of the meal. The service throughout was abysmal, slow, inattentive and completely unprofessional. When we finally managed to speak with the manager, we were met with excuses about being short staffed and having someone call in sick. To add insult to injury, when we expressed our dissatisfaction at the end of our meal, the manager’s response was, “What do you expect me to do? I’m trying my best. Write to HR if you have a problem.” This level of disregard for customers is unacceptable. I strongly urge anyone considering dining at Hush in Holborn to reconsider. There are countless other restaurants in London that value their customers and provide the service you deserve this is not one of them. Avoid this place at all costs.

Spanish food "English style" since some tapas are not how they are prepared in Spain 😛, it is still good but a bit expensive

The employees and the manager do not know how to serve and talk to customers. Disgusting, terrible place. Never to be chosen again. And a place I will tell my friends who ask me badly. If the restaurant has a rule, the customer should be informed before sitting at the table. My comments here will always be bad.
