St Anne's Cafe in East Lindsey

We stumble across this little gem whilst in Mablethorpe. The kids were hank Marvin and we needed some snap quick upon entry it was very clean the staff was very friendly had a nice bit of banter . We orderd fish chips peas the peas were spot on nice and crispy chips with a fluffy centre . The fish fresh cooked to perfection full of flavour and the batter light and crisp it's a ten from this @fatladreviews

Gluten free fish option was a big winner. In a town of competing fish and chip takeaways, the reason we visited. Happy wife.

I ordered a large haddock and chips to take away, which was cooked to order. I walked 50metres to my car and opened the fish and chips, the smell of bad fish was overwhelming, but since my husband had already driven away from the shop I decided to try the meal. It was without doubt the worst fish and chips I've ever had the misfortune to eat, nasty fish soggy batter and scraps and chips that were soggy and mushy. Absolute garbage, they're just ripping of people having a day out at the seaside.

My husband has just been to st Ann’s for gluten free take away fish it was absolutely amazing the batter is wonderful would highly recommended dry hygienic staff very friendly thank you for my amazing tea.

Very average food. I had fish chips a can of pop and some ketchup. The chips were hard and the fish was pretty average. Decent price at £8.75 but the portion size did reflect that. The staff in there seemed a bit disorganised

Every year, my family and I visit Mablethorpe, and we always make sure to visit St Anne's each time we're here. The staff are always friendly, never get orders wrong, and the orders are always good value for money. Can't wait to come back next year 🙂.

Staff were very sharp, rude and abrupt. Really felt like our custom was an inconvenience and very unwanted. Sat and watched my kids eat because my order never materialised, even though I'd paid for it. When I enquired about said order I was told in a 'Karens Diner' kind of way, "that's your lot!" To summarise: some of my money was stolen and then I was told to get f*cked.

Delicious freshly cooked fish and chips. Plentiful portions and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had gluten free fish and chips cooked fresh while we waited for a takeaway supper good value hot and tasty cooked by friendly staff will definitely visit again when in the area very good.

This is the 3rd time using this establishment and again it didn't dissapoint. Today's orders were burgers, fish and chips and onion rings once again absolutely perfect. Never tasted a chicken burger like it. Even the mayo and lettuce tasted first class. Very succulent. Staff are friendly and the building is nice and clean. Our goto for takeaway food when in the area.

I visit mablethorpe on a regular basis this is the first time I've been to St Anne's chippy I had kebab meat chips and salad. I have to say the kebab meat was by far the tastiest I have ever had, the chips were lovely. Prices are very good. I have now found a chippy I will be sticking to. My go to chippy in mablethorpe and will be recommending them to all my family and friends that go to mablethorpe

Not brilliant - we won’t use again. Grumpy staff too. Don’t be fooled by the photos of the restaurant/eating in area. It’s basic with food served in a cardboard box (same as takeaway) we were given a plastic mini fork to eat pie and chips! Having a day out and stopped in after reading other reviews. Superb service and as we had to wait longer for some chips, they weren't happy with my gf batter, so cooked me another and gave me both fish at no extra charge. Highly recommend.

Popped in to on our trip to Mablethorpe. We really enjoyed the gluten free fish and chips.They don't use beer in the batter. Very friendly staff. The price was so reasonable for such good quality food. Ate the fish and chips on the beach on a sunny evening, perfect.

Been here for 4th time this year. Always order skinless haddock and mushy peas for a certain time. They never fail to deliver. On time piping hot fabulous batter.

Being gluten free usually means I can’t indulge in fish and chips. Imagine my excitement therefore when I heard that this fish & chip shop offer totally gluten free fish and chips (even their vinegar is gluten free!). A trip was especially made and they didn’t disappoint. The batter was AMAZING! Crisp, tasty and golden. The chips were fab too. I know which seaside resort I’ll always be heading to in future!

Stopped in for fish and chips on the picnic benches outside and had a lovely gluten free fish and chips as well as three normal fish and chips. Service was excellent and the team checked during our meal to make sure everything was ok with the gluten free option too. Even the vinegar is gf friendly. Team serving are friendly, helpful and have separate frying systems that they will happily explain for safe gluten free options. Super food, super service and great to have such a lovely safe eating experience - from a Covid and coeliac perspective.We will be back.

While staying at Golden Sands, we decided to support local business, plus it was a pain to book food, we went to get dinner for eight from St Anne's Fish and Chip shop. It was certainly worth going and I would happily return. The staff were friendly, the food was cooked fresh and was delicious. Nicest fish I've had in a long time. Well worth queuing.

The best I’ve ever had. What an amazing place to get good quality fish and chips. So clean and well cooked. The staff are real friendly and helpful. We had fish chips bread and butter peas and a drink all for 8.50 a person. Sat inside and it was lovely and sunny. It’s tucked down a side street but you won’t be dissatisfied so please pay a visit.

Gets very busy and we had to wait at least 20 minutes to get served but the fish and chips were freshly cooked and tasty.

This chip shop may not look the best but the food is to die for!! My picky daughter absolutely loved the bbq chicken pizzas and my son was happy he got his chips and scraps!! Reasonably priced and superb quality. Would definitely recommend.

Visited this shop 2nd August and ordered haddock, chips, peas and curry. The chips were very nice, give like an 8/10! But the fish was not good at all. It was slimey, most of it was transparent rather then white and the parts that were white were still very chewy. 1/10 for the fish!!

Food itself was average, chips rather pale but the fish was OK and a reasonable sized portion although the batter could have been crisper.The waiting time was ridiculous though for straightforward cod and chips and a sausage for the dog - from payment to receiving the food was over thirty minutes - what made it worse was regular customers would come in, order and receive their food within five or ten minutes.Tourists are evidently second class citizens at this establishment

Wowzer best fish & chips on the coast. We visited St Anne’s Thursday lunchtime, what a great first time experience this was, made even more joyful by the super friendly ladies behind the counter. We will be back!

Our family visited at the weekend. They have a wide selection to cater for all and at great value for money. The Haddock was huge and of the highest quality. Chips were great as well, not greasy etc. If you visit Mablethorpe make sure you visit, we stumbled across this place as it is located just off the main road next to Jesters pub. We cannot wait to return.

This is my favourite fish and chip shop in mablethorpe, the chips are always fresh, the pizza’s are amazing as are the fish, could be a bit bigger but I prefer quality over quantity!!!!! I’ve been here many times now and couldn’t fault anything. The staff are always friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Spot on!!!!!!!

Being new to the area I could not find a place that did Kebabs ! then someone said have you tried St Ann’s I’m sure they do them, and of course I had to go and try them and I was not disappointed, they also seem to have a large selection of take away food a pizza although I not sampled them they look great.

Very disappointed. I had to wait 15-20 minutes for fish and chips twice. The fish was tasteless, the chips were dry and like rubber and there was a member of staff serving with skin hanging off his elbow! Needless to say we won’t be using again.

There’s quite a lot of options here for a fish and chip shop. You can eat outside or inside, which is nice. If eating in, your food is served on a plate, and if eating outside you get the normal takeout boxes. Nice sized portions (split a large portion between three and still couldn’t eat them all) and the drink options are nice too with some icy cold cola drinks and Jucee (basically Fruit Shoots) for the younger kids. All in all, very nice. Would visit again.

I have eaten fish and chips all over England Scotland and Wales and these are by far the best I have ever had the pleasure of eating. They have a pensioners special which is extremely good value for money. Everything is piping hot the batter is thin and crispy with a lovely big piece of fish inside rather than a huge load of batter and hello where is the fish. I am sorry I could only give it five stars I really would give it 10

We come every August and have done for last 11 years and this place has always been brill. However this time the prices and servings seemed to have changed. Ordered a Medium chips thinking for the price it will serve 2 people sharing.. got back to ours and couldn’t believe it. Served on a tray that was definitely a small. Even if we weren’t sharing it’s not really a portion for one either, as you can see below. Normally take out orders in chippys are just wrapped not in a tray and you get a share portion.. No complaints about standard or taste of the food, but the staff need to come across a bit more friendly too. The girl that served us was a little cold towards us - again it could have been a bad day but that’s not the customers fault and good customer service is essential, No customers no business after all. Also the prices are quite a bit higher than seen at other places around mablethorpe.

Visited here for years when we were on holidays as come mablethorpe every year for two weeks.

Had pizzas and chips to take away and eat in the evening outside the beach hut we had hired for the day for a birthday celebration . I had tried ringing Pizza places with no joy, rang St Anne’s and just so helpful, took my order over the phone to have it ready in 15 minutes.

The only place I found reviews for gluten free, we went to get told by the cook he had use the fryer for gluten so I could have chips and beans. He was very rude and even the lady on the till seemed shocked with his attitude. Really gutted that I couldn’t have fish and chips by the sea.

The woman serving glanced at me an then looked down at the tickets in front of her and totally ignored me. We came here for a family chippy which was enjoyed by all. There was plenty to chose from and the food we ordered did not disappoint. The food was also good value for money. Will hopefully have opportunity to return again some time. The chippy had a nice friendly feel to it too.

If the family is hungry on a day out but you don't want to spend a fortune while sitting down to enjoy a meal together then this is the place for you! The portion size are very generous and the food isv always hot and tasty, we went twice over our stay and no dodgy tummies whoop whoop!! Kids had the nugget meal one time and burger the next, I had small kebab and medium chips first then the chicken burger next visit, both were delicious, I'm thinking of traveling the 25 miles to to visit the cafe next weekend, that's how good it is. The kebab meat tasted fresh and although by nature kebab meat is oily, there was no oil collecting in the plate, the chips are crispy proper chips not frozen and not dripping with oil either, the chicken nuggets are tasty, not chicken breast fillet but still well worth the money, same with the chicken burger, not fillet, but oh so tasty and not oily. The staff are friendly and more than happy to add or take away things in a specific meal to suit. I have photos on my phone of the menu and food which I shall add later, as I don't have my phone right now. Well Done St. Anne's, just proves you can make good food, with great portions, pay staff and make a living without charging extortionate prices. Good luck for many more years of business.

The food is very good indeed, lots of choice and variety. The portions are large to say the least, well cooked and presented, staff are friendly and the place is extremely clean.

It is getting quite a regular treat with us to call for southern fried chicken, it certainly gives KFC a run for their money. If you are feeling especially hungry you can have southern fried potatoes too
