Amazing food at a very reasonable price… We got fish and chips and Salt and Chilli Prawns & Squid ( massive portions) Staff where ultra friendly and brought food out to car after short wait … couldn’t recommend this place highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stopped here for lunch and ordered the scampi, as it has always been great in the past, and a chicken burger which was overcooked and almost black. When I opened the scampi I found that a hair had been cooked into the batter. I returned it and was advised that a new portion would be made and foolishly I went to wait in the car. Upon opening the "freshly cooked scampi" it was obvious that it was the same portion refried. This was even more obvious when I rediscovered the original piece of scampi with the deep fried hair still attached. Due to this lack of hygiene standards I won't be eating here again. It is understandable that a stray hair can sometimes be found in food, however when a customer returns their food with a hair in it the expectation is that extra care will be taken with the fresh order and not that the original order will be refried and given back.

Tasty treat after walking the mournes. Scampi. Fries. Squid. Crispy batter and great tasting sauces. Really quick and hot.

We parked up, placed our order, waited 15mins then ate it up at Dundrum castle. The food was incredible, so fresh. We got the Salt n Chilli squid box, chicken wings and a chicken kebab to share and it was incredible! Not your regular chippy!

I last reviewed this take away a year ago when I gave a five star review. I have visited several times since the previous review and had a 5 star experience each time. I travel over 50 miles to this takeaway for the experience, summer and winter. On this occasion I ordered using the, I want fed app, and when I arrived they were just about to box to my meals, so should have been fresh. I drove less than 2 minutes away to eat my food and unfortunately the food was greasy, not crisp and the portions were very small compared to the portions served on my previous visits. Very disappointing. I wouldn't drive round the corner never mind 50 miles to get food of such a low quality. The takeaway has no phone number so customers are unable to complain in person. My order no was 243 on 27th August 2023.

Called in to get early evening takeaway. Ordered lobster burger and a chicken burger and Parmesan fries. It took 15-20 mins to get it. Lobster burger 🍔 was a fish tasting mushy Pattie. Was it nice ? No not really. The dressing and slaw etc were the best bit. The chicken burger consisted of 3 chicken strips in a burger bun. The chicken was over cooked and almost black. Pity as it looked good. Again the dressing was the best part. The Parmesan fries were great and the best part of the meal. All in all nice, but attention to detail and taste would make a difference. Bin the lobster burger please, it’s terrible.

Will let you in on a little secret - "if you haven't visited Squid Shack, you are seriously missing out!" I'm a regular paw-visitor with my mum, I love to share the squid, the battered fish is paw-licious, actually the entire menu is amazing. My mum will never let me try the Magic Fries but I watch her drool - apparently dogs can't have chilli. Perfect after after a long walk at Murlough or great for a take away to eat at Dundrum Castle. I can't wait for my swim at Murlough and Squid Shack tomorrow! Love from Penny the Golden Retriever aged 13 months xx
