Outstanding food and service with cocktails to die for. If you're a fan of seafood this is most definitely the place to go!

Fresh seafood restaurant right in the centre of Charlestown. Prices are fairly steep but once the food arrives you understand why and I would gladly pay again. Ordered the seafood chowder which was full of fish but only came with one slice of bread - we were advised to order the bread board but as we were paying £27 it would be nice if enough bread was provided with the actual meal. Also ordered the cod loin special with linguine which was beautiful, and the lobster bisque was perfect. Not pictured is the Turkish delight panna cotta which was quickly scoffed and was lovely. All in all a gorgeous setting to eat some beautiful seafood and would highly recommend!

So glad that we came across this place on our last night of holiday. The atmosphere felt special but also warm and inviting, the food was exceptional (highly recommend the mussels and chowder), and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our family (including a 3 year old and a baby) had a lovely meal. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting this area of Cornwall.

We wanted fresh Cornish fish and chips. It was worth the price. We were welcomed courteously, and although the indoor restaurant was fully booked, we were happy to sit on the enclosed terrace where we had our first experience of fresh caught sole. Although I specifically asked for as few chips as possible, the sole was balanced awkwardly on top of half a plateful, of them, which made it difficult to get at. Why do they ignore in the kitchen, requests like this? The other staff were friendly and helpful and made the evening very enjoyable.

A wonderfully decorate food hall. The terrace is also looked after. The service is more attentive than in other places and the food quality is quite descent. I had the fish of the day (lemon sole - filleted) but I needed some more carbs on the side!

What a beautiful place in a lovely setting. It was my birthday and my daughter contacted them before hand to let them know it was a birthday celebration and on arrival I was met with a glass of Procesco which was a lovely start to a very relaxed evening. Staff were attentive enough that you were left alone to enjoy the evening and the food was excellent. I didn’t try a dessert as was so full from the lovely calamari and house breads that we shared and the fresh fish and chips. Highly recommended - and found out they also provide a take away service, which I’ll be using! Thank you Springtide and all staff for a lovely evening.

Highly recommended! This restaurant truly deserves a 5-star rating. During my 3-day stay in St Austell, I enjoyed two dinners here and was thoroughly impressed. The fish and chips were exceptional—the fish was incredibly fresh, beautifully battered, and perfectly flaky. The prawn linguini was also outstanding; the sauce was rich and flavorful, complementing the prawns perfectly. Beyond the delicious food, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, making my experience even more enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised when one of them spoke to me in my mother tongue, which I certainly didn't expect. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience!

I absolutely love this place. The first visit was christmas time 2023 it was fantastic. The food was second to none. Everything was like art crafted with the most passion I have ever seen. The featherblade of beef is a must if it is on sale like on the specials menue they also do the beef on the Sunday dinner menu. Would also recommend scallops perfect. Price is not an issue as you pay for the service, experience, and the love of food, but you could look to spend approximately £100+ for a 3 course meal for two people and drinks.

The feather beef at Christmas was out of this world so came back 4 months later and it's only on a Sunday lunch so booked for Sunday lunch x

Came in last night and was very impressed. The food was excellent, I had scallops, followed by lemon sole with new potatoes, broccoli and caponata, whilst my friend chose calamari, with mushroom linguine as a main course. Both delicious meals with an excellent attention to detail. The Maitre’d was outstanding, the best service I’ve experienced for a long time. Will definately be back

We arrived as walk ins on a Tuesday night and were welcomed into a relaxed and friendly ambiance. We had the calamari and the pork belly skewers for starters. Both were incredible. The calamari was crispy on the outside and the squid soft and flavourful. The pork belly was perfect, deliciously tender and crispy and the BBQ sauce was spot on, combined with the Cajun aioli, it was incredible! For mains we had a special, plaice with vegetables, andthe most amazing roast potatoes and the calebrese mussels. The portion of mussels was incredibly generous, and the sauce well seasoned with thick chunks of tasty bread to mop up the delicious sauce.

Excellent service and delicious food. The grilled sardine starter dish was one of the most tasty starters I've ever had.

Fantastic experience and so welcoming from the moment we walked in, other restaurants could learn a lot from Springtide. David spent time chatting to us and the team were great with our young daughter. Amazing food, I had the Surf and Turf but wanted to order everything off the menu. My daughter’s meal was a great also.

Lovely restaurant with super friendly staff that looked after our party (adults and children) from the moment we arrived. Menu specialises in quality seafood but also has plenty of land based dishes for the non-fishy. Highly recommend (oh and bar is well stocked for cocktails, wine and beers)

So we had seen Springtide on our trip into Charlestown and on finding that our hotel could not accommodate us for dinner booked for Friday 31st January our anniversary. We arrived early and were greeted and seated swiftly. Service was friendly and helpful. The menu is supplemented by daily specials from which I chose the scallops to start and then the chowder from the main menu. My partner chose the arancini from the menu and the Catch of the Day - which was a beautifully cooked piece of hake with a subtle tasty sauce. My scallops were superb- very different from any scallop dish I have had before, and the chowder was packed with prawns and mussels as well as the usual fish and veg. It was way better than the chowder I had at a specialist restaurant in Boston on a trip to the USA. Both of us were full and could not manage a dessert- the portion sizes are good. Overall great ambience, great service and excellent food, so good in fact we asked if we could book for the following night. We were not disappointed on our return visit. Again I had a special as a starter, the sardines, and followed that with what turned out to be the best fish and chips I have eaten. My partner could not resist the beetroot arancini again, and then the prawn linguine. Again we could find no fault with the food and had excellent service. The menu is not extensive but there are enough options if you like fish, service is friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable. If and when we return to this part of Cornwall we will certainly return here or to one of the other branches of this local chain. A special mention to David who looked after us so well on Friday evening and arranged our booking for Saturday when he was not working but came in to the restaurant and made a point of talking to us despite the fact he was not working - we were made welcome and to feel valued as diners and customers.

Had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Now, let's talk about the food—wow! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I highly recommend the seafood chowder which was cooked to perfection and the best my wife has ever tasted. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell a lot of care went into every plate. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic evening, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, great service, and a wonderful vibe, this is a must-visit. 10/10

Was very quiet on our visit but then many places were closed in january, nice staff, food was nice and fresh fish dishes, need to work on the tomato sauce !!

Very disappointing take away fish and chips £12 per portion. Overcooked chips most of them burnt so couldn't eat them. lazy cook haven't even removed the skin before battering. Don't bother!

We were on holiday for the weekend and fancied some fish and chips to take away. Popped into here, and we were greeted by a friendly young lady. She took our order and it was ready really quickly. Well this was the best fish and chips we've ever had! 😋 Wish we lived closer.

I can’t rate this place highly enough. We were let down by another restaurant last minute as they cancelled our booking and they were able to accommodate me and my family for my son’s 8th birthday. The staff were amazing, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely. We even had the whole restaurant singing my son ‘happy birthday’ at the end. Was a great night and one we will always remember. Thanks to the team and kitchen for a fantastic experience.

Popped in for a spot of lunch on a day visit to Charlestown. Had a very nice prawn gambas and a portion of fries. Pot of tea, mug of Americano coffee and a nice ice cooled jug of lemon water. All very nice. Service was quick and friendly and the bill wasn't too shocking. Nice view of the harbour from certain parts of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

Managed to get a table last minute and had the best fish and chips of my life. Seasoned to perfection. The mushy peas were immense! Service was so nice, lovely waitress and an older man who was dressed different,y so I assume manager or owner. Would definitely come again. Want to try the chowder and some oysters as they were out that night.

It is not dear the food that is plus you eat in or eat outside they do have tables inside and outside it is your choice weather you sit outside or sit inside

Had lunch here today on a whim and found it to be faultless. We had our dogs with us but inside was no problem. The fish finger sandwich was amazing and the fish and chips was also wonderful. Also loved the fact the fish was haddock and not cod. Support that all the way. We had a ×wonderful lunch here and have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you very much.

Wonderful staff, good service and food delicious. I had fish and chips. The restaurant was Dog friendly. Can sit outside on the terrace or inside. First time to Charlestown, so avoid the busy areas on the harbour and just walk up the hill slightly to get a good value meal.

Osyters are fresh and huge but not cheap (£5). Chowder is full of seafood but was expecting it to be more soup-based. Good good good atmosphere.

Quite possible one of the best dining experiences i've had to date. The food 10/10. The location 10/10. The staff 10/10. We had an array of starters and mains and everything was just sublime. If I could eat here everyday I would. Do not miss the chance to feast on this exsquisite cuisine if you're in the area, you will leave a belly full and a smile from ear to ear!!!

Plenty of great reviews on here but we found it average. My wife’s prawn linguini was poor as the prawns were watery and there was not enough pasta / it was nearly all cream sauce. Small piece of garlic bread on the side. My fish and chips was just above average. Nice fish but bought in chips. Specials were hake and mackerel which is good as they are local and sustainable but both are low cost fish with a high price point. We’re relatively local in Cornwall but it was our first time there and we hoped for better. Lacks attention to detail in the kitchen and front of house. Instead of telling customers that the vinegar bottle comes out really fast (it pours onto your fish), why not get a new bottle? There are better restaurants to eat seafood in Cornwall / we really like Indidog in Falmouth or the Peterville Inn in St. Agnes.

Made an online booking with open table . A very popular spot I’d recommend a reservation.Parking was a little difficult as it’s a small beach town with access to beach . Was a beautiful sunny 🌞 day & we decided to check it out after Eden Project as it was about a 15 min drive away . However it took about 45 minutes to find a parking spot but we persevered & it was definitely worth it . Greeted by a lovely smiley hostess from Portsmouth. You only have 1 first impression & she definitely delivered:) We were walked out to the patio all tables had umbrellas which was great as it was a hot sunny 🌞 day but beautiful ocean breeze & lovely fresh air . The kitchen closed at 3 & I had a 3pm reservation but I questioned this on arrival & the cheery hostess advised us that we had 15 minutes to order which was plenty & didn’t feel rushed at all . Dad & myself ordered 4 wonderful appetizers they were all fantastic & complimented each other very well. We went for the salt & pepper calamari crispy & perfection not greasy at all . The Mackeral salad was light & delicious. The arancino were delightful perfectly crispy on the outside with a creamy center . We also had the mackerel & tuna dip which was served with this wonderful puffy hot buttered bread unfortunately it only came with 2 slices but on request we received another 2 with a smile & no surcharge it was the perfect addition to the wonderful dip which was topped with capers . Mum opted for a lighter option & went for the local lump crabmeat cocktail served over lettuce in a Mary rose sauce . A very pleasant experience, food service & ambiance excellent. Congratulations to the friendly professional team & to the kitchen who over exceeded our expectations. We rate this 4 as nothing is perfect. So visit here and be surprised and delighted! The food is excellent, the chowders are amazing. The head waiter, David adds to the experience, by going out of his way to make you feel welcome, attended to and special Springtide is now definitely our local ‘go to’ place to go out and eat, whatever the occasion. Highly recommended

Lovely place to enjoy some quality food. The outside seating area has a nice view of the water. I had the fish, I would have given 5 stars for the service but the waitress messed up the timing. She made it right with a big smile and dessert on the house though. If you are in Charlestown, definitely have a meal here.

Very pretty restaurant with a marine theme, I, being Breton, felt like I was there. The staff were welcoming, kind and helpful. I ordered fish and chips, very classic but very good. I was facing the sea, it was perfect.

The salt and black pepper squid starter was nice but my husbands prawn cocktail was amazing. We both had the fish and chips and although it was fine it was just fish and chips. The tartare sauce was delicious. We both enjoyed fish and chips and panko fried fish finger sandwich from the place on the Quay more and they were cheaper. The staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere but I think my expectations were too high.

Lovely little Restaurant. Arrived in Charles town looking for a table for my family off 6 was told to try SpringTide, was seated strait away. Colouring and some books for the little ones to read made it easy to keep them calm after a busy day, lovely atmosphere. We ordered a range off meals from the menu including the specials board, they even let my vegetarian teen pick from the entire menu including the evening one appreciated this very much as along side been vegetarian he’s a rather fussy eater. Food arrived in good time was beautifully presented. Sea bass was amazing and the rest off the family enjoyed there meals to. Staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back next year.

My wife had the Muscles which she really enjoyed myself I had the fish and chips which tbh weren't the best, the fish was well over cooked with the batter a very dark colour, I had Fish at the Charlestown fish Co a couple of nights earlier which were absolutely top draw and knocked spots off this food.

Don’t miss this place if you travel to Eden Project or Heligan Gardens. Delicious fish dishes. Must try venturing beyond your usual fish & chips or burger. We had almost a bit of everything and it was 10/10. Don’t miss the chowder (especially New England). Service was friendly and attentive. We stayed outside but inside looked cozy.

Springtide, Charlestown Review Springtide, Charlestown: This restaurant absolutely deserves a five-star rating. The location is stunning, adding to the overall dining experience. The food was exceptional—I had fish and chips, which were perfectly cooked, while my wife enjoyed seabass and mussels as a starter. Both dishes were delicious and well-presented. The gin and tonic we had were top-notch, complementing our meals beautifully. The only downside was the cost, which ended up being over £110 for two people, including two drinks, a starter, main, and dessert. It might seem expensive to me, but that's probably because I'm a bit of a cheapskate who likes to save money, like Scrooge. Despite this, the overall experience was worth every penny considering the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the beautiful setting. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Despite the price, the overall experience was worth every penny, and I would highly recommend Springtide for a special dining occasion.

This is an absolute must visit if you love seafood! We had different varieties of the seafood chowder and it was to die for! Would make a trip to Charlestown again purely for this food (not to say the harbour isn't also lovely). It was truly the best we have ever had! Outside there is a beautiful view of the harbour and inside also has a lovely atmosphere. Very attentive staff and a goosd selections on the food and drinks menu. Cannot wait to visit again!

Fantastic seafood great location.

Had a hake dish tonight from the specials board. Took an hour to arrive and then the fish portion was tiny. My children had bigger portions with their kids meal. Feel very disappointed.

I would vape their seafood chowder. The Fish and chips and steak were also really good. But honestly. Their seafood chowder.

Wow, what a find. Hard to get a table at peak times but you know why as the food was amazing. Had the special mackerel and calamari for starters, both fantastic. Then had the fish of the day for 1 main and the mussels as the other. Again both incredible. The mussels with cider and fenel was so nice. Kids meal was very nice as well, and they were accommodating to swap vegetables. Puddings were also a hit, especially the sticky toffee pudding. Would highly recommend and would visit again.

We had lunch at this lovely restaurant. My husband had fish and chips and said the fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had the Mackerel burger with a side of spicy chips. It was an absolute taste sensation and really well cooked! I would highly recommend eating here. The staff were very friendly and greeted us the moment we walked in and made us feel very welcome. 10/10 from us. We will definitely go again!!!

Went there last weekend and the quality of the food was amazing, my husband said it was the best fish finger sandwich he'd ever had, I had the prawn bang bang, with avocado, lettuce and melted cheese both on ciabatta. The staff were very good and helpful. Definitely a must
